VBA Data Entry Form - Populating Separate Book

I have built a data entry form (Input tab) and have code populating a table (Table tab). Currently both are in the same book, but I would like to house them in separately.

What is the proper VBA syntax for this? Will both books need to be open in order to populate the table?

The 'real' data is hosted on sharepoint and is getting darn big. The result is problems opening the doc and looong save times. My thought was to have the secretaries doing data entry open a single sheet (Input Form) which will then populate the data in another sheet. I'm dreaming, aren't I...

I know Access would solve everything, but for cost reasons I am stuck with Excel.

Custom Data Entry Form To Post To Separate Worksheets Dependent On A Variable

I have a custom data entry form which is working fine. The form completes customer data for reviewing at a later date. I have now been asked to change it so it will seperate the data in to customer's who require some documents sent out and some that dont.

Is it possible to have a combobox on the form and if the options on the combobox are Yes and No (original), when either option is selected the data will complete on to a seperate sheet for cases with documents required or documents not required?

Populating Form With Referenced Data

In lack of database experience, I am using a hidden Excel sheet for data and several other sheets with referenced data. I am populating the data sheet from an inputform and inserting new references on save. This works pretty good, but when the data has to be updated, I've currently used the before doubleclick event and hereby used the activecell for reference, but now the data is on a different sheet!

Automatic Data Entry To Separate Workbook From Userform

I have a userform, UserForm1, which lives in a spreadsheet called 'Data Entry.xls' There is nothing else on the spreadsheet itself, it's just for the use of a userform.

I would like the user to populate textboxs in UserForm1 but have that update cells in a separate spreadsheet 'Training.xls' in the same directory.

I have this code at the moment to find the next empty row and to input data into it, which is working perfectly to enter data to sheet1 in Data Entry.xls:

I know this problem could be easily solved with the use of access. Unfortunatly I can only use excel. I am creating a uniform stock database. I a trying to create a user friendly face sheet, so that the operator does not have to have any knowledge of excel to use it. My question is to do with a data entry form. Sheet 2 of my spreadsheet has a list of all uniform in stock. At the moment it has two coloumns, "uniform type" and "uniform size". Is it possible to create a form on sheet 1 (the user interface) where a user could imput the type and size of an article of uniform that had just come in, and have it automatically added ot sheet 2?

Press Button To Open Form For Data Entry And Then Send Matching Data To Another Sheet

Now that the calculations are working, with the press of a button, I need to be able to select a range of dates and copy all lines within the range to a seperate sheet with the desired name under the same headings they currently reside under. I have included some modified code that is being used in another spreadsheet that was created for me, but I do not pretent to understand all of it and I no longer work with the creator of the spreadsheet. How do I use a button to open the form for date selections and entering the name of the new sheet, and then use the start button on the form to begin the matching and copying to a new sheet? If there is an easier way I am all for that too.

on sheet two each column will be one of the above fields and each row will be a new record. Is there a way to do this in excel? Im trying to create a simple user experience that hide the rows & colums.

How To Validate Time In Data Entry Form

I'm making a data entry form for a user, and one of the fields is in a time format (mm:ss). Is there any way that I can validate that field in "cmdOK_Click()" so that when the user clicks "ok" on the data entry form, if they haven't entered a date a msgbox comes up.

I tried IsNumeric with an If function but to no prevail.

Multiple User Data Entry Form

Basically at the moment our static data group use a generic sheet which lists all possible field variables. However, what I want to do is design something which only shows the fields that need to be filled out (ie if the field is shown it needs to be input).

Once the form is filled out it will get saved and sent via email, where it is then printed out and input by our data group. One way I thought about approaching this was to have 18 sheets which are hidden, and which are then selected when a report type is filled out. The other way would be to have IF statements but I think that would get complicated on the one sheet. Just really looking at ideas at this stage.... For example there are 30 fields on the sheet that we use now, but some reports may only need 5 of these fields - I therefore need to "hide" the remaining 25...

Macro To Highlight Data Inside Other Data Or Move From Book To Book

so to start off im not able to attach things due to security reasons, what i need is either 1 of 2 macros. if its possible, both are related. one possible is as follows: i need it to go through a certain column (say I for example) and look at the information in it, this information can vary from peoples names along with dates and other stuff, i want it to look through these and if anything has a date today and prior i need the cell to be highlighted. problem is sometimes it might have 2 dates, or no dates. it should have todays date, their name, other information, and future date of something. but not everyone does, this is the macro i dont think that can exists.

2nd macro possibility the other macro uses the first sheet, AFTER been highlighted, normally by hand, and takes it to another workbook and puts in in certain spots. so the first sheet has names of everyone in column K. what i need is it to look at column I and if its highlighted take entire row to other book, and put into sheet under the person name in their tab. the second book has a tab for each person (at this time 18 tabs) which can fluxuate, and each tab is the persons first and last name, without spaces. since when i put sums on main page it didnt want to work with the spaces i had to omit them. again im not sure this is possible.

Currently I have the private sub from the form transfer those entries to a remote cell on the spreadsheet, (like in column "HZ"), so that the macro that will actually utilize them can retrieve them. Is there a way to pass that data directly from what is entered in the form in the textboxes to the macro that will actually use them?

Save Work Book In 2 Separate Directories

I have a fluid document that I have to save for historical reasons in 2 separate directories. My save Macro works I was just wondering if anyone see's a better way of accomplishing saving to two separate directories then closing the document. Auto-populating Cells On Separate Sheets?

I have two spreadsheets, one is a Log Sheet for invoices that we have been printing out and filling in my hand throughout the day as our field technicians complete their work. The second spreadsheet has a sheet for each technician where we manually input the technician's invoice numbers and payroll for each job completed on that day.

What I'd like is a way to combine these spreadsheets so that instead of printing and filling in the first sheet by hand, I could input the invoice data and have it automatically populate the cells for the appropriate technician.

This is the running log we keep throughout the day:

Then at the end of the day, we painstakingly transcribe the data for invoice number and payroll onto this sheet for each technician:

What I want is for Excel to automatically fill in each technician's payroll log with invoice number and payroll time as we fill in the running log throughout the day, is this a doable thing?

Populating Combobox In A Form

I have two types of lists that has to be populated into comboboxes. First type is in a column with a header - lets say A1:A20. For them I`m using a following script:

With them all is fine until I need to start for example from row 26. (lets say range to populate is T26:T32) Then I`m lost. changing Offset(1) to Offset(26) doesn't work and I`m getting an error. That however can be handled with a workaround - creating another list that starts from the top. So I gave up on solving that. I need to populate a list from a range that is a row - B5:B20

I've adjusted the script to:

User Form Basics - Populating Text Boxes

I am trying to create a user form to edit some named ranges. The VBA user form designer is basically the same as Borland Delphi, so building the form itself was easy. What I can't figure out is how to populate the user form with the data from the spreadsheet.

I have a number of text boxes on the form with names like txtTier1Slots, txtTier1Ceiling, txtTier1Floor, etc up to 4.

I have a defined name that corresponds with each item, Tier1Slots, Tier1Ceiling, Tier1Floor, and so on. I'm using defined names because they're referenced in Conditional Formatting on one of the worksheets in my project. They don't exist as actual cells, just name references.

I want to get the form populated with those values. I've tried about twenty variations of the following code, using ThisWorkbook, Workbooks, Cells, Range, Name, and just about every cell reference method I can think of. I've so many different error messages, my head is spinning.
