I am trying to achieve something like this :
Find a specific text in my column B (example : "Proposal ID"), when "Proposal ID" is found, select this cell and offset to the column C (Offset(0, 1)). Then copy this cell value in another sheet.
This will be repeated with different texts (always in the column B), so if the text is not found, I need the macro to continue running.
I am trying to find a macro that can search a sheet for any cell that contains the text "Not on AOI" selects a range that contains that cell, 81 rows below, and 2000 columns to the right, then cuts the selection and pastes it 162 rows below the original cell where the text was found. What's hard is that the number of columns between the "Not on AOI" cells is variable.
I'm very new to excel macros and the parts I think I've put together are:

I have a data sheet with employee information. Only one column. It prefixes information with codes, but keeps it in the same cell. I want to move data of certain types into their own columns, but the amount of data is variable, so I cannot simply move every Nth cell, etc.
i.e.
Employee#1
200 Firstname Lastname
204 99999999 (Employee ID)
G38 00005000 (i.e. Pension Deduction)
H38 00007580 (i.e. Benefits Deduction)
X96 00012099 (i.e. Staff Club Deduction)

So you see some employees may have different codes altogether. But I know that I want all the cells that start with 200 to be offset (-1,1), and all the cells that start with 204 to be offset (-1,2), and so on so that basically I end up with columns of info instead of a one column list.
I have been reading and studying other peoples' macros, and am just starting to grasp the basic. When I wrote my own to accomplish this, I put this together, which doesn't work. But I don't know enough to know what I don't know.

Following Dave's rule regarding using the rows in Excel rather than the columns I am trying to re organise some workbooks that have been passed to me. To copy one column of information requires 4 pages of code the first section of which is below.

Now that I have the code to copy one column I want to be able to adapt it to move four columns to the right from F to J and using the example above copy from J4 to C166. I am guessing that Offset is the way to do this but can't seem to work out how. ach block of data takes up 160 rows and the data is all pasted into column C. The data to be pasted starts in row F then J then N and so on up to column IZ in some of the workbooks I am trying to revamp.
using VBA and most of what i know has come from reading through blogs. I'm trying to copy 5 separate pieces of data from one row on our Payroll sheet and paste this in to another sheet call master dump.
The issue that i am having is that the code i have written keeps coming up with a run time error 1004 at the line "a.Select"
What i need the code to do is this: Copy the data from cell A4 and paste this on to another worksheet in to row cell b2, date worked in to d2, pay code in ot f2, hours in to h2 and the cost centre in to ad. all on the same row. i then need it to move on to the next team member (in this case A5) and repeat until there is no emp#. once the monday is done it will need to move onto Tuesday.

My code (with help from this forum) loops through all workbooks, all sheets and all columns OK as I have tested it with message boxes
I need to take the value of Range("C5") from each column of all sheets of all workbooks
and paste it to Range("A4") downwards in Workbook("Loop Folder.xls") . That is, each new value is inserted in the next row of column A.

I am trying to locate specific values in column a of a spreadsheet and I want to be able to move (cut and paste, offset, ???) only those values to column c of the same row. The values I am looking for are text and they all begin <@29>, <@33>, etc. (pagemaker codes). I want to move the cells with the pagemaker codes to column c. and leave the other ones in column a. Does anybody know how to do this using vba? Below is a sample of my column a.

My source data generates a sheet full of individual dates and condo rates. We'll call it the "Rates Tab". The dates are not sorted or organized into a single column and to complicate it further the data has blank rows periodically. The only recognizable pattern is: (example) the date is in cell b12, then the condo rate will be 2 columns to the right in d12. On a separate sheet, the user will input a check in date(date A) and check out date(date b). I need to find the rates for all dates from Date A to Date B located on the Rates Tab. how to find a Date across various columns and then return a value 2 columns to the right from the "target"?

I am writing a program which would look for look for the word " TOTAL" in sheet1 and then assign several values in sheet 2 based on cells offset of address of "TOTAL". This is repeated and down rows of sheet 2. Everything works except that it is giving repeating the first "TOTAL" address; i.e. it doesn't seem to go to the next met criterion.

I have a base document that i can import another data document with a button (this is working).
I then have another WS ("search") in the base document with lots of identifiers which I want to use as my search range to look through the document that I just imported (column A).
I need a msg to ask the user what month they would like to find the $ value on (Ie, January) in the imported WS... this way it doesnt copy the entire line only cell in the selected month column.
Then I want to the user to be able to click a button that will check through the identifiers on the "search" WS and if the same identifier appears in the imported WS in column A, then for the $ value in the column selected to be copied to the search Range work sheet.
If the idenfifier is not matched then in place of the $ value copied can be the string "no in XXX WS" .
I have attached the document with dummy data in each work sheet with details more cleary what I have meantion above.
Feedback.xls is the file I want to have my macro run in. By pushing a button to run the macro, it will prompt the user to select where their file is on their computer. This file will have different file names based on the end user. For example sake, I've included CAP.xls.
After the user selects their file, it will prompt them to choose which tab to copy and paste data from. Typically, there will be 30+ tabs on their worksheet. For example sake, I've created 5 tabs on CAP.xls. The tabs in their workbook will be labeled as I have labeled mine, M1 CAP, M2 CAP & M3 CAP. Therefore, it should prompt the user to select which tab to choose from.
After the user selects their tab (M1 CAP, M2 CAP, M3 CAP), the macro should prompt the user to choose which row of information to copy. In CAP.xls, I have a few rows of information to choose from. I am making a worksheet that I intend to use to track my money. When I first open the worksheet, it opens on a tab where I can click a button to report a type of transaction. For example, if I make a withdrawl from the bank for $50, I click the button, it takes me to the sheet that tracks my bank-related stuff, selects a cell and opens up a form, at which point I type in what the transaction consisted of. However, the sheet also tracks what is in my wallet, so I'd like to finish reporting the bank transaction in the form, and have a button to click that reports the wallet part automatically.
So, essentially what I need to do is select several non-contiguous cells that are in the last row of the bank sheet, copy them, switch to the wallet-tracking sheet, and paste them in a row that is one past the last row of that sheet. The paste should keep the cells next to each other, even if they were non-contiguous when they were being copied.
I need a vb code which would open different workbook automatically, autofilter the first row and select data and copy and paste in the other workbook.

I'm in the middle of building a code that will look at the value in Sheet: "DATA" column "J", for each row that matches a criteria that I pull from a cell - Sheet: "Test" Cell: "C1".
The number of rows varies. I want to paste columns: "I2, K2:P2, U2:AJ2" when the value in Sheet: "DATA" column "J" matches the cell "C1".
I'm using a Command button to click every time I want to generate the filtered data. And I would prefer the code to always copy data starting at Sheet: "Test" Cell: "K2".
I've copied, below, my test code that I have so far which only copies row 2 from the Sheet: "Data", and copies it into Sheet: "Test", starting at K2.

I have a list of invoice #'s on a sheet named "Temp Sheet".
I have a VBA macro that created a new tab for each entry and named it the invoice #. So basically the vba code created a new tab ( based on the number of invoice #'s on my list ), and named each tab an invoice number. So if I had a list of 10 invoice #'s, named S1-S10, the vba code created 10 tabs, named S-1, S-2,. S-3.....
Now to my question.
I have a template sheet I want to copy from ( "Template" ), and select any sheet that starts with "S", and copy/paste this template to.

I have a value in sheet3 cell "C9". (the value is stewart)
I am tring to have the macro go down column "C" in sheet1 and the value is the same as "C9"s value in sheet3 then copy the 7 cells to the right and paste them in the 7 cells right of "C9" in sheet3.
Example: If the value in cell "C9" in sheet3 = "stewart" and the value in "C109" in sheet1 is "stewart" the copy C110:C116 in sheet1 and paste those values in C10:C16 in sheet3.
I guess you wouldn't have to offset, you could copy C109:C116 and paste it to C9:C16 since its the same value.

I have two spreadsheets, A & B. In spreadsheet A, user will input a contract number and values for the contract. The user inputs the contract number in cell D4. I have linked this cell to cell B1 of spreadsheet B.
I want Excel to
-copy values from spreadsheet A
-then go to spreadsheet B and find the value of B1(which is the contract number entered in cell D4 of spreadsheet A)
- arrow over 14 columns
- then paste
here's the code i have so far. No matter what contract I input in cell D4 of spreadsheet A (when i step through the code) excel always takes me to cell C10 of spreadsheet B!?!?!
note: the code is in a module in spreadsheet A
