I have 3 columns (data, date & price). What I would like to do is find the last populated cell in 'date' column and autofill it based on column 'data'. The tricky thing is that the date form is text and while autofilling manually it changes.
I'm trying to create an excel worksheet as follows:
Column1 Column2 Column3 Column4 Column5
Date Time In Time Out Hours Worked Pay
01/03/2000
01/04/2000
01/05/2000
.
.
11/11/2008
I want to insert in the first column (Column1) dates starting from 01/01/2000 all the way up to today, 11/11/2008. So I would end up with a unique date on each row.
To accomplish this manually would be a daunting task. I'm a newbie to excel and don't know how to use any in-built functions.
I've created a very simple formula which counts the number of days from Today and excludes blanks.
I'm trying to set it up so the formula *stops* counting the days once a cell in column C is populated.
Formula so far...
Code:
=IF(A3="", "",A3 - TODAY())
It looks exactly like this this [URL] .....
I have a excel sheet in which there may be values starting with "1" in column H ( column 8)
eg:"1530501" (7 digits)
In this case I like to add 3 zeros ("000") in front of this value.
Expected value: 0001530501
I wrote the below code, but not sure what I wrote is correct or not.
I'd like to get a reference to the last row or cell in a column of data.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have attached a sample file. I would if possible like to have a hyperlink at the top of the sheet that when pressed would take you to the last populated cell in column G. I can do a normal hyperlinks but over time the hyperlink would take you to the wrong place as the sheet is filled in more and more. Is this possible?
I have tried to adapt various macros I have found on this forum but they on't seem to do want I ask of them I also seemed to have acquired an extra vba project (Ubitmenuo4) in the worksheet and can't get rid of it, so just ignore that
I have a worksheet where the first two cells in the header are blank but the third and last cell is not. I'm trying to find the code which would give me the last populated cell in the header.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a form pop up when user runs a macro and it populates the form beginning with ActiveCell. How do I always populate the form beginning from column A (row based on ActiveCell)? It would be really helpful if I could just set cl to take the ActiveCell and back it up to column A.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a column array with various cells in that array populated. In every subsequent cell in that array I want a formula that finds the previously populated cell and that value added a cell that is in the same row but two columns to the left.
Basically i have a manpower chart with months along the top and names down the far left. People are going to start work in different months so i want to know at the side of each persons name the month they start. Heres a simple example
I have column headers starting at B1 thru F1, with the following values Month1,Month2,Month3,Month4,Month5
In cell D2 i have the value 1
I want Cell A2 to return the value Month3
Whats the formula i need to input in A2
I have a template worksheet that several people use and print from.
The range on this worksheet used is A1:C499
I want the VBA to look at tha last cell that is populated in column A and set the print area to suit.
i.e. the last cell used in column A could be A277. then I'd want the print area to be A1:C277.

I have a macro that is copying information from one spreadsheet into columns "A through E" on the next available row in a seperate spreadsheet. Beginning with column "G through L" I need to copy the formulas from the row above in the same spreadsheet. Is there a way to do that since the row being copied from will change each time?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have attached a sheet as an example, as i am trying to Divide a cell by the number of populated cells in that column e.g column (A) has a table of 16 but only has 13 populated cells in that column, the sum would be something like this =sum(A18/13. Sometimes the column will have less and at times more populated.

I am sure this should be REALLY simple, but i just can't find the answer i'm looking for. I have a sheet which changes daily in quantity of information. I want some simple code which counts up the number of populated cells in column A and returns the answer to a cell in another worksheet - or just automatically use it to print that number of pages.
I think i should be able to do the printing side, but, currently have no idea how to count up the number of populated cells in the row. If someones feeling very generous though, giving me the code for printing that number of pages too would save me some work (the worksheet which needs printing is different to the worksheet which needs the number of cells adding up.)
There are groups of similar ID numbers in Column J. For a group of similar ID numbers in consecutive rows there is only one row that has a number greater than 0 in its Column L cell and the rest of the cells of Column L for that set of similar IDs is filled with 0s.
First for that unique ID group I need to find out which row is it that has a value greater than zero in its Column L cell.
Then I need to use that value to fill the rest of the 0s in Column L corresponding to that set of Unique IDs.
The process continues with identifying similar IDs in Column J and this time doing the same thing for their Column M. I have attached a sample file that shows the data and how the results need to look like.
I need to repeat the following rows and formula with column a starting at 9150 and going through 15,000 in 50 point increments. Need formula I can copy and paste easly. see the attached example.

Some code that will remove blank cells from across five columns (A:E) so that after running code all data in each column moves to the top of sheet?
View 9 Replies View Relatedget a cell to return a value depending on whether or not a cloumn is populated
for example. If i Have 3 columns EUR, GBP and CHF and there can (99% of the time) only be one entry in any of the 3 on any given row. How then can i get a 4th column to return the value EUR, GBP or CHF on the same row as an entry. I have a relatively complicate nested IF fromula but i think this is slowing down the worksheet as there are 500 or so rows containing it. Ive attached an example segment
I have a macro that copies three sections of data from a word document and pastes it within the Excel worksheet. The column of data is pasted in a single column (data to be space-delimited and evaluated later), and what I would like the MACRO to do is separate the three sections of data based on the starting and ending values of the section and place them in different columns.
Section 1 : starts with the word "Team"
Section 1 : ends with the word "City"
Section 2 : starts with the word "Location"
Section 2 : ends with the word " Date"
Section 3 : starts with the word "Member"
Section 3: ends with the word "Age"
So section 1 would be pasted into cell C1, section 2 pasted into G1 and section 3 pasted into J1.
Each section will have vary in number of rows between the starting/ending values, so to cut and paste the section based on the starting and ending value is vital.
find macros to sort fixed ranges but not an entire column with existing header rows from 1 to 4.
Added to that is the need to keep the code compatible with Excel 2003 even though I have Excel 2010 at office (it's a file that needs to be "openable" in both versions so the vb code needs to be in XL 03.
Column currently starts at C5 but goes down to C47, at this point. But it's a growing list. Some of the rows are blank at the bottom, too.
I need to combine rows that have the same value in column a and column b to the same row by offsetting column c to the next available column. For example, I would like the first 6 rows of the provided sample to appear like this.
0014B22<@44>Soil Properties and Qualities<@44>Soil Properties and Qualities<@44>Soil Properties and Qualities
0014B23<@28>Coursey<@28>Ogles<@28>Shelocta
Sometimes the values are the same in column c, sometimes they are different. I do not want to delete duplicate rows where they are the same. Sometimes there are 2 rows that have the same values in column a and column b, other times there may be 3 or even 4 rows with the same values in column a and column b. Regardless, I would like the values in column c combined on the same row in the next available column. It would be nice if the duplicate column a and column b rows (with a null column c cell) were then removed, but I could do that in the next step.

Please see the attached sheet. I have columns B through a lot (B through O in my oversimplified example). In every 7th row in each of these columns there is either a 1 or a blank/zero. I need to multiply that 7th number by the Quantity in column A, to achieve a total (ie the sum of each result of 7th cell*quantity) for each column in the bottom row, labeled "Totals".
In the actual version of my sheet, there are far too many rows to select everything manually. I've been fiddling with combinations of COUNTIF/COUNTA and OFFSET, but I haven't come up with a way to check for the 1 in every 7th row, THEN multiply that 1 by the quantity in column A, THEN add up the results for each column. As you can see, there are 1's elsewhere in the columns that are irrelevant to this particular calculation, so something like LOOKUP would also have to look in every 7th cell and couldn't just look at the column as a whole.
If you can't provide an immediate solution, but can at least point me to a resource that would allow me to devise a way to isolate every 7th row (THAT part is the sticking point), I'll surely post the solution to my own thread with updated keywords if I need it.
I have a 2 groups of column headings with a different month and year in each heading so
1st Group of columns range
Columns AJ through AX
Column Heading example "Expense Ratio February 2013......next Column over is "Expense Ratio March 2013"
2nd Group of columns range AY though CE
Column Heading example "Capital Balance February 2013......next Column over is "Capital Balance March 2013"
Each new month I need to add a new Expense Ratio column after the most recent expense ratio Column. (i.e. Find "Expense Ratio March 2013" and I need to add a column after that with heading "Expense Ratio April 2013"
Same thing for Capital Balance - add a new Capital Balance column after the most recent Capital Balance Column. (i.e. Find "Capital Balance March 2013" and I need to add a column after that for "Expense Ratio April 2013"
Because the ranges keep changing month over month, how do i do this.
I have taken over this spreadsheet for my work, and it is basically a statement in excel. What I want to do is find a list of invoice numbers in column B populated from a remittance, and then replace column F to say a specific thing depending on check number and date paying for that invoice. So if a check printed today I would have it replace column f to say paid 1/31/13 check # xxxxx. Currently I am searching for each invoice indivudually and then replacing with check number and date. There are about 200 invoices per month that I deal with, and it is a big waste of time!
For example from this
invoice #1 / reconciled (DATE)
invoice #2 / reconciled (DATE)
To this:
invoice #1 / paid (DATE) check # (xxxxx)
invoice #2 / paid (DATE) check # (xxxxx)
I am trying to find the median of a set of numbers on a column that correspond to dates on the left column. I want a monthly median average of the numbers on the right which correspond to the dates on the left. So for example. I want to make an equation that gives me the median of all the numbers on the right if they fall within the range of a certain month(in this case October). I've tried These:
=IF(COUNTIFS(A:A,">=10/1/12",A:A,"

This works, UNLESS "My Column Header" is the last column, or second to last column, then it jumps left two columns, instead of landing on the correct column.
The purpose of this script is to select a cell directly in that column that I was searching for.
