I was able to adapt it to my own data, but whenever I had blank cells in my data the results were not reliable. the formula i am using now is =IF(COUNT(1/((A1:A27<0)*(A2:A28<0))),MAX(FREQUENCY(IF((A1:A27<0)*(A2:A28<0),ROW(A2:A28)),IF((A1:A27<0)*(A2:A28>= 0),ROW(A1:A27))))+1,0). for a bunch of data in column A. With limited knowledge of excel I'm not exactly sure how this formula works, so I'm not sure how to tell it to ignore all blank cells. I attached an example that shows how it fails with the blank cells

In my Excel spreadsheet I enter todays date in a single cell (A2), then I list various dates that jobs come into shop in other cells (A8:A108). I have cells ( F8:F108) where I have been manually entering an asterik (*) for those jobs equal to or greater than five days old in cell (A2). Is there a formula that can do the math for me? I've tried Excel help but to no avail.

I'm trying to create a formula (in Sheet 1) that will return the most recent number of cells containing a value (i.e. not empty) in Sheet 2 Range AD2:A367 greater than zero.

I've tried using COUNTIF but that only adds the individual values, it doesn't 'start from zero again' when a zero value appears.

I am using cell V7 to input the formula but I want cell V7 to tell me if the number in U7 is greater than or equal to the individual #'s in cells U7-U40 and I would like it to put a 1,2,3 in the cells of V7-V40 for the three highest numbers in order of largest to smallest if is this possible?

Say the Range is (D3:M3) there is data in D3,F3,J3,K3,L3, and M3. I want to count consecutive cells with data from M3 backwards to D3. In this scenario the sum would be 4.

I wanted to count the number of instances that Matt's been late. If there are consecutive timestamps (ex. 600-620, 620-640) that he's been late, I wanted Excel to display 1 and then I'll just sum it up. Or if Excel can do this directly, add all the instances because what I actually need is the total per person.

I'm looking at test results and would like to know how many times in a row correct answers were given before getting one incorrect. The way I have this currently set up, is if a student has the answer correct it returns a "TRUE" value, and a "FALSE" value for an incorrect answer. A typical test may have 50 questions, so I would have either "TRUE" or "FALSE" values in rows A1 through A50.

So I've been trying to figure out a formula that counts the number of times "TRUE" rows repeat 'consecutively' in a given column, in this scenario column A. The formula would need to check the current row and if "TRUE" check the row immediately after, if that row is also "TRUE" then check the row immediately after that, until it runs into a "FALSE" string, then display that total count of consecutive "TRUES" in another cell. I understand there may be duplicate results but I'm only really interested in the longest value, so duplicates can be ignored.

If it makes the formula easier, each possible result can be assigned to it's own cell. Let's assume the test has 50 questions. So if a student got all 50 questions correct the result count would be 50 in cell B50, or if they got 25 correct before the first incorrect answer, cell B25 would say 25, etc. I'm guessing I could then easily query this column for the largest value to come up with what I need at a glance.

Say I have Column A populated with Employee Names, and Column B populated with "Pass" or "Fail" (which indicates a passed or failed customer service call monitoring).

For each employee, I want to be able to look at all of their overall scores (usually between 3 and 10 evaluations per month) and easily highlight people who have failed 2 out of 3 consecutive evaluations.

I have a cell, M87. The score in M87 can be less than 13 or greater than 25. I need a formula within M94 which refers to M87, and outputs depending on the the following criteria. If M87 is less than 13 then output as D. If M87 is 14, 15, 16, or 17 then output as C. If M87 is 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 or 24 then output as B. If M87 is greater than 24 then output as A.

I am looking for a function like MATCH if the match type were set to -1. However my data is sorted in ascending order. I am mining data from a Pivot Table, and it has dates across the top. Of course the pivot table will have the data sorted in ascending order from left to right. I want to find the first date that is greater than today. With weekends and holidays I can't just use TODAY()+1. Is there a function that can do what I am asking? Also I do not want to change the pivot table itself.

I need a formula that looks at the total in H40 and if the number is between 32 and 40 I need it to return the number then if the number exceds forty I need to multiply the overage by 1.5 and add it to the 8 for a total of 11.

I am creating my first Userform and having some problems. I take the data supplied by the userform and try to match it as closely as possible to a row of information. Currently I am using four cells to autofilter my spreadsheet data. Two of the cells I am looking for a exact match. The other two cells I am looking for the number that has been input or anything greater than it. Here is the code I have come up with...

You take a childs actual age in months and years (ie 9.8 for 9years and 8months). They then, in theory, should be at that age level for reading and spelling.

I have the age in B4, the reading in C4 and the spelling in D4. If i use CF to say i want C4 to be red if it's less than B4, Amber if it's the same and green if it's over, as soon as i okay it, C4 goes amber, because it's equal to B4, which is blank. I can get the colours to work, i just can't figure out what to put to turn the amber off when cell B4 is empty.

I have start date(Column A) and an end date(Column B) in two columns and I have found out the difference between them in column C in hh:mm:ss format. I want to find out how many cases are greater than 2 Hrs but less than or equal to 4 Hrs.

Starting in cell F3, if Column F is greater than or equal to zero, delete the entire row and continue deleting rows until Column A has contents in it. Then go to Column F in that same row that had contents in Column A, if the contents in that row of Column F are greater than or equal to zero, delete the entire row and continue deleting rows until Column A has contents in it. Persist with this pattern until every row in Column F has been checked.

I am revising a spreadsheet to automate some cells and size cable for my job. I am currently using the VLOOKUP command to search a table for the proper ampacity and return a cable size based on the minimum circuit amps. The problem however is the VLOOKUP command searches for a number equal to or less than my circuit amps and returns this cable size. I need it to return a size equal to or greater than the minimum circuit amps. How do I get it to lookup something equal to or greater than the minimum amount?

I have excel sheets with 71936 rows of data collected ~30 times a second for 40 minutes during and driving simulator drive (for 51 participants! all in separate worksheets). The output I get from the simulator includes speed, lane position etc. I've been averaging the data out into minute blocks for most variables, but what I really need to know is: if they exit the "lane" for more than 3 seconds, and if so, how many times they exit the lane in each minute.

Column A is the minute, column B is their lane position. Lane position ranges from -540 to 540. The middle of the left hand lane is -180 (the left hand lane ranges from -360 to 0 - we drive on the left in Australia). If they exit the left hand side of the lane, the lane position value will be between -360 and-540, and if they exit the right hand side the lane position value is 0 or greater.

A formula in a new column that can give a "1" each time they exit the lane for more than 3 seconds would be great, then I think I can make it sum how many times they do it in each minute.

I have read every single question on counting consecutive numbers in this forum but could not find what I need. I am trying to count the number of consecutive zeros in a row till the cell >0 then the counter is reset and restarts. One point to pay attention is that the number that is>0 when counting starts is included. I wrote a macro for it but somehow I am having problems with it. It returns 0. I want it to be for example

I have what may be a math question as much as an Excel question. See my attached spreadsheet example in which I grow the denominator of a ratio by a fixed percentage until it equals or exceeds the numerator. This results in the denominator being grown X number of times.
