Nov 11, 2011I have a togglebutton for an excel sheet in use for scoring psychological tests. When pressed, the button higlights the cells where a raw score is inserted.
What I need is a code to higlight the togglebutton when pressed, eg. green (colorindex 4). The button is white. How to do this?
Below is the code, It has more lines than needed, but it works.

Reference Cell Based On Button Location & Determine Button Used
Mar 7, 2008I received this code from an example I found once upon a time that was originally submitted by someone else. Right now the code enters the current date in a cell of the same row as the checkbox when it's checked. I need to revise it, or come up with something similar, that will reference the value of a cell when it is in the same row as the button (from the Forms toolbar) that is clicked to activate the macro. First of all, I don't know how to reference a Forms button in VBA.

I need two different kind of buttons. I have a button that does this-

However, when I try and create these codes using a Command button (I need it for the color), I get the error
"unable to get the buttons property of the Worksheet class"
P.S one other thing, say the button is in row 3, and Cells A1 and A2 are merged, when you click the button in row 3, it should extend the merge to A3.

Now, this Zip macro is able to zip the file for the employee "Anthony Tran". However I need it to be able to recognise which employee's button I've clicked and search the same files as above except with that employees name instead of "Anthony Tran".
If it makes things easier, the code for creating buttons for each employee is able to name that button as the employees name that it represents.

Jul 31, 2014I know that this may seem a little strange to request as you can just select the row and delete it, however the sheet is designed as "idiot proof", so I would like to implement this.
Basically, I have a box which states "If you need to delete a row due to incorrect entry, please type the row number here (next cell), and click delete".
I want to know if by using VBA, you can reference the number entered in the cell, and use this to determin the row in which we are required to delete.

I already the macros for adding an item to the list via a add button. All this dose is if the item is not on the list i can simply be added into the two boxs and then click the add button.
What i want to do is add a delete button. This is in case someone enters the values wrong then can select it in the list and then click the delete button.
So all i want is to look at the item cell, match to a range and delete the row.

Form Button On Spreadsheet - Identifying Which Row The Button Is On
Jul 23, 2014I am imagining a spreadsheet with the equivalent of an info button in each cell of column A. The idea is the user clicks the button to open a User Form containing additional info about the entitity represented by values on that row.
E.g., Row 1 is labels, row 2 is all about Bob, 3 is about Jane, 4 is about Freddy. If the user clicks the info button on row 3 then a user form opens up and displays additonal info about Jane.
I am wondering if there is a way for VB to identify which row the clicked button was on without having to write individual code for each button telling VB which row the button was on.
I am hoping there is some form button property I can reference or interrogate which will give me a cell address; a button.position property or similar. This will obviously save me a lot of coding if VB can dynamically determine which row is being interrogated as there will be a couple of hundred of these to start with, potentially thousands. (I realise Access is a better solution for database interrogation, but I have to work with excel at present).
Ultimately, the user form that the button calls up will have a list box on it and I want the list box to default to the entity on that row, and allow the user to browse the other entities if they want to.
If there isn't a solution for this I will just have a single info button for the users to click that opens the user form and then they can select the entity from a list box. But I would like to offer the "intelligent display" option but don't relish coding the equivalent of several hundred "You clicked button four hundred and seventy six, default to info card for bert".

I want to identify the row (position of shape/button calling the macro) to enable inserting a new row (1 row down from current row).
Then do the same to delete a row (position of shape/button calling the macro) to enable deletion of selected row.
This will allow me to add/insert rows by the button located at that row
The problem i have is getting the row property (row position of the button eg. TopLeftCell.Row) of the add button. The add button (RowBtnAdd) is a shape within a group (BtnGrp)
I also note that when a group is copied, it has the same shape name as that copied.
I want to keep the add and delete shape within the group (BtnGrp).
I do not want to select a cell or row or enter a row number to delete etc.

Jul 24, 2014I've been piecing a macro together from different sites and have run into a couple issues I can't find resolutions to. I have a excel doc for tracking paint emissions per week. I would like to have a button on my master tab that will add a row and fill the formatting from the line above across all 60 some sheets. Ideally I would like the same button to first prompt if you want to add or delete rows. When adding rows I would like it to add it above the button (there's 3 buttons and for 3 different sections) and if deleting ask which row to delete. If it can't be done in one button that's fine, I can live with that. The big thing I need is for it to replicate across all of the excel sheets. I've attached a copy of the document

I want to be able to create a macro button that will update all the worksheets if i insert or delete an employee from the master list. When a new row is inserted, the other worksheets should be updated as well with the new name and a blank row to be filled in. And when a name is deleted, the entire row should be deleted as well.

Everything works well except 1. there is a LOT of coding because I recorded the macro and 2. the delete message pops up for every files the macro manipulates. I have to click "delete" about 60 times throughout this macro and would love to be able to let it click its own delete button!

Mar 5, 2013I'm trying to make it so that when I hit one button it unlocks the ability to hit two other buttons. I've been trying to do some OnEvent things but they just haven't been working for me.
Ideally I'd like it so that button B and C look like they shouldn't be pressed, perhaps translucent or grey, before button A is clicked, after that they should turn to another a specified colour.
