What im trying to do is match columns A & B from AUDIT Sheet to Columns A & B in MASTER sheet. If they match then pull columns C, D & E from MASTER into AUDIT.
I have a situation where I need to match 2 columns, Data in Column E & Data in Column R.
When there is not a match, there must be a set of cells/row inserted to the right or left depending on which data is missing and the data beneath must be shifted down.
There have been issues with doing this because once a cell is added, the formula for matching does not stay consistent.
I have attached an example where the tab "Final" is the end product needed and the First 2 Tabs are the Raw Data
The Steps are to take the data from the first 2 tabs and align them side beside only being divided by a column and another to match the 2.
I'm using the attached sheet to try and perform the following:
Search the range "ADPeriod" for the value shown in cell in B2, andSearch the range "ADPName" for the value in the cell C4, andSearch the range "ADPLOB" for the value in the rows of column B,Where all three are found,Count the number of unique values in the range "ADSName" and enter the value in the applicable rows in column C of the table, thenSum the associated value in the range "ADFTE" and place in the respective row in column D of the table.
I've done quite a bit of research on this, and found a example as shown below, which I thought I could adapt, but I've come across difficulties when doing so.
[Code] .....
How I may achieve this. In the near future, I will be adding further values in row C of the table.
I am having some trouble getting a formula to work. I am building a report that pulls figures from a pivot table in another workbook. I am using a vlookup with match function to get the column index to find the relevant data I want. Where I need to add two columns together I am using sum, with the vlookup & match formulas nested in them e.g.:
Where: F13 = Employee number Column C on the pivot 156 workbook is where the employee number is based. The Match formula is then getting the column index from the column headings of the pivot table ie. "FAID"
This in itself works fine, as long as it finds a match in the column headings. This is where i get the error as in the above function "COMD" is not in the pivot table. However I need to keep it included as it may appear on a future pivot table. Is there a way of getting the sum function to complete even though later in the formula it can't complete the vlookup? So it will ignore it, or assume the value is zero if it can't find it? The formula probably needs to do this for all the vlookups as some headings may drop off in future pivot tables.
I am trying to match data from 2 independent sets, formatted slightly differently so not sure which function would work best for me. From the attached file, I am trying to match the date and time stamp (in cell A1) with that from the other data (in this example in cell E1) and return the data (from cell F1) to cell C1. So basically any date and time stamp before 04/03/09 04:00 will return a value of 44 (this value should appear, therefore in cells C1 - C30)
I have a WB with multiple sheets. I have a Feed sheet that automatically pulls data from the web. I have a Scores sheet that currently has all head to head matchups each week for an entire season. So I want to check the cells on the Feed! sheet to find a partial match and if partial match exists then copy cell that contents score from feed sheet to the score sheet next to the appropriate teams name. Currently I have to manually enter all scores each week for the rest of my WB to update.
I need to look at Cell A3 (on the Feed sheet) which has "New York Jets" then search for a partial/similar match on the score Sheet (which is NY JETS, in this case). NY JETS could be in column B (rangeB2:B257) OR column D (rangeD2:D257) BUT I need to search by row, not column, then once a match is found check the cell to the immediate right and only if the cell is blank copy data from the (!feed) sheet to that blank cell on the (!scores) sheet
This is what happens if working right =
look at cell A3 on the (!feed) sheet = "New York Jets" then search (!scores) sheet Column B and Column D by row for a partial match, finds "NY JETS" as match in cell D8, if cell E8 is blank then copies cell H3 from (!feed) sheet, and pastes to cell E8 on the (!scores) sheet, if cell is not blank continues search until 1st blank cell to the right of matching cell is found (as there will be mutiple matching cells with blank cells to the right but I am only interested in the 1st blank cell found, once found and data copied the process is done and then starts over with cell A4)
Look at cell A4 (!feed)= "New England Patriots" then search (!scores) sheet Column B and Column D by row, finds "NEW ENGLAND" as match in cell B8, if cell C8 is blank then copies cell H4 (!feed) sheet, and paste to cell C8 (!scores)
Once this is done it moves on to the next cell in the next row on the (!feed) sheet, A5, to find a partial match for the data in that cell. I need to continue the search for each cell A3 to A74, and if no match is found to move on to the next cell A6... (based on the way the data is pulled in from the web there are some blank cells as well as some cells that say Game Final, this data won't be on the scores sheets in column B or D).
We know how INDEX/MATCH works, and it's very nice. I attached a COUNTIF to it to count how many times the index finds itself on another table; if it doesn't find itself, then it goes blank. However, this time I need to count how many times it finds a certain string condition in the other table.

The columns that need to be filled are shaded in dark pink.
See attached file, "Rate Sample Index-Match Formula".
I need a formula to return the value at the cross section of two (2) lookup values that match. This formula will be input into column D under, "RATE" on the 1st tab, "TEST FILE".
In the 1st tab, "TEST FILE" there are a series of columns as follows;
A = Service B = From C = To D = Rate
In the 2nd tab, "RATES" there is a series of rates with drivers From (green) & To (blue)
The formula needs to do the following;
1. Lookup the "From" value in column B on tab, "TEST FILE" and match to column B2:B59 on tab, "RATES" both highlighted in green 2. Then Lookup the "To" value in column C on tab, "TEST FILE" and match to row C1:BH1 on tab, "RATES" both highlighted in blue 3. Then return the value at the cross section of the match "From" (point 1 above) & "To" (point 2 above) in range C2:BH59
For Example;
The rate From SYD To CBR = 0.33. I have highlighted this in yellow on both tabs to show where the formula needs to lookup the data to return the answer.
Additionally, if we were to add service as an additional lookup match how would this work?
In attached File, there is a table there is date in COLUMN "G" and column "H" contain Name....
I want to count value in column "L" by matching date from column " K " .....BUT THE SAME NAME SHOULD NOT BE REPEAT COUNT... i.e, HITENDRA and RITU name is repeat 2 times in date 1-Jul-2014 .. but it is a similar so it should count as a "1"..... the total count for the day is "6" but avoiding similar value the total count is "4"..... so I nead a "4" figure as a result......
I need couple of formulas, Both formulas are on the "invoice approval" sheet which pulls details from others sheets.
Formula 1 - highlighted in red.
On the "Invoice Approval" sheet I would like data pulled into it from the "Vendor Invoice sheet".
I have an index and match formula which is nearly working but I would it amended slightly so that it doesn't error out when there is blank data on the vendor invoice sheet. Is there any way I can get it to say count the number of rows on the "Vendor Invoice" sheet and only pull in data for that many rows?
Formula 2 - highlighted in blue
On the "Invoice Approval" sheet I would like data pulled into it from the "fault report sheet".
I have a simple index and match formula but I can not get it to pull the data correctly - is my range wrong?
In one sheet I have customer_code in one sheet (Customer_code) and this is multiple like
C00002604,C00002604,C00002604 and in another sheet (Customer_code_details)
I have the same code but here the count us much more than earlier sheet (Customer_code). if Customer code exists the same code 3 times the same code exists also in sheet (Customer_code_details) for 5 times.
In customer_code sheet I have 8724 data but Customer_code_details sheet I have 8840 data.
I am normally sorted the two columns and checking t manually.
I'm looking for another twisted forumla / array. Here's what I'm trying to do?
When the value in data!G$2:G$51000 = Yes AND The value in data!J$2:J$51000 is Unique (counted once if more than 1 total matches) AND The value in data!H$2:H$51000 is
I'm trying find a way when running a report that continues to grow weekly - to either run with a script or a specific formula. There's certain cells that I'm trying to capture but the main thing is it's very time consuming and is tracked onto a separate workbook. Here's what I'm looking for a hand on:
Weekly list of 20,000+ rows - includes customer information - names, addresses, phone, account #, order #, etc I sort my list by address and then look and manually count the duplicates. Once duplicates are located I enter on a separate workbook along with the most recent order number. There has to be a faster way.
In Cell AA8, I need a formula that will read the 3-digit number in Col Z8 and count the number of rows where a match is found. The 3-digit number can be in any form, Ex Cell Z8, 972 can be 729,279.

Sheet B contains a column called "Name" and for each name, and for each name there are corresponding numbers. In sheet A, I have a "list of interest" in column A. What i want to do look through the data in sheetB to find a match from the list of interest and return the corresponding letters, located in column A.
I have filled out the first two rows of results that should be returned as an example.
One idea i had was to put a vlookup formula in each column result 1 to result 6 so i can catch all 6 "Serves" columns from column B, but there may be duplicates in the serve columns and vlookup only reports the first match.
I need a macro that can search a sheet for a match and then copy all 7 cells to the right of the match. I have attached an example of the sheet that will serve as the database to search, and a userform example that will be similar to the userfrom that will display the copied cells when a match is found. I plan to copy and paste the 7 cells to a different sheet so that the userform can display the results with the control source property. I do not need a way to add to this database. I know very little about searching a database so.
I am very new withe macro I recieve every day a CSV file from our supplier withe a list of the products that got updated withe new price, stock count, product ID etc.
I have my own worksheet with the product ID that we use, and I want to finde the exact match to my product ID in that CSV file and delete all other that don't match.
But i need them get deletede by rows thos product ID that dosen't match to my workbook.
I tried with this, so it could set an X in front of my match then i could filter and copy it to my workbook but it dosen't work: Because the same product ID is sometime in 100 rows and the X come only in front of one of them.
=IF(ISNA(MATCH(Q2:Q1000;G$2:G$1000;0));"";"X")
so with some macro. I need to have every row deleted that don't match to my list of product ID.
Basically where the columns say 2011 or 2012 AND 1, 2, 3. I want to be able to have it index the number below based on the GL number on the left and both the year and period on the top. I think that you can do with using the sumproduct function with the binary, but the computer is a little dated and it takes a while to run those calculations.
I have 2 worksheets named sheet1 and need_to_delete that are in the same format: 7 digit number, 5 digit alpha numeric, text, dollar amount. I need to copy every row into sheet2 where there are no matches in the column A of the two source worksheets, and copy every row that does have a match in column A into sheet 3. I also need to keep the rows in their current order.
My table has one column C with 3 possible values. Column D has either TRUE or FALSE. I am trying to count individually all the times when B = True (F4), T=TRUE (F5) and B/T =TRUE (F6) excluding the blank cells.
But the final goal is to display the total figure required to be answered, but as each question is answered yes or no subtract 1 from the displayed figure. My sumproduct adds up the "B" but does not match with a "TRUE"
I am trying to produce a excel spreadsheet on Excel 2003 that has sales data. At the end I am to produce where my supervisor can produce a summary of the data showing the last weeks work (and only the last weeks) and how many yes rows there were and how many no rows there were for that week. There is a lot more data involved but the only relevant data for the problem I have is the date and Yes/No fields. I have looked on other sites and the only thing that I can find that is close is the following formulas.
Apparently these will count the rows and sum them. However they don't differentuate between yes and no. I have attached a very basic spreadsheet with the problem.
I am analyzing a quota schedule. I need to count the cells in a row until I hit a value in one of the cells in that row (lets say cell>=30). Then I want the formula to evaluate the next two cells in front of that cell to determine if either is >=30, if so then the formula counts up to the original cell. This will determine # of days out for a install or trouble call lets say.
I have messed with a combination of IF, CountIF, and Match statements and just seem to hit a dead end. Any thoughts, even if it is that I may need another approach, is welcome.
