I Want to remove "#VALUE!" error but I do not want to remove "-" sign. I want "-" sign to be treated as "0".
I also cannot use "sum" formula due to some reason & the value can be changed.

see attached example. I am trying to write an error detection routine that iterates through worksheets that have numeric values for names (ignore text names or alphanumeric). Macro checks range on each numeric worksheet E3:E33 and is supposed to report back on the SummarySheet if any value other than 1 or 0 is found in range E3:E33 on any numeric-name worksheet. Code as follows:

Problem is that it just reports EVERY worksheet as having an error when clearly most don't (none do I think in the attached example).
Try changing some of ranges E3:E33 to values other than 1 or 0, it still reports all sheets. Why the macro does not evaluate the range E3:E33 properly and just reports every worksheet as having an error?

May 25, 2009criteria is bascially month and week based when i apply average forumla for a month i did get the avg for a month but when a record for tht month is unfilled
eg weekend is off so no values for that date that displays div/0 error.
I want a Macro which cud change this div/0 error in a selected range to be null
so it didn't reflect in avg function on final sheet and gives that value there. i know that it can be handle by updating the forumla

but i want this solution for 30 sheets for which in value filled range macro either deletes div/0 error or place null value there.

Jun 19, 2009i m working on an excel 2007 workbook with ms project functionality. in order to be able to use ms project from within excel i m using early binding. for those who dont know what early binding is: http://www.dicks-clicks.com/excel/olBinding.htm
this works fine if the user has ms project installed on his/her pc.
if the user does not have ms project installed i remove the broken references. this works fine.
but my problem is that when i remove the reference to ms project, my vba project will not compile correctly. thus each time when a user opens the workbook the user gets a "compile error in hidden module" , since the functions of ms project are not available.
for example i get a compile error in the following source

Excel 2007 :: VBA To Replace Formulas In Certain Cells With Their Values?
Nov 8, 2011I am running Microsoft Excel 2007 on Windows XP. Right now, I have the standard macro set up that will replace formulas with their values. It's the standard macro that does this for the entire sheet:

However, with this being a daily task, the issue is that this wipes the formulas out for future dates, which is obviously problematic. To be more specific:
I have one tab (HISTORICAL) with over 200 rows with each business day this year. Columns B through H will pull data from two other tabs (ENTRY1 and ENTRY2) that is entered daily, using a formula that tells Excel to only pull the data for the current date:

So each day, someone will open this sheet and input their data on the ENTRY1 and ENTRY2 tabs. These numbers will auto populate over to the HISTORICAL tab for that specific day.
Also on each day, someone else will open the sheet and go to the HISTORICAL tab and run the macro that converts the formulas on that sheet to the value.
I want to be able to run the macro only for the row with the current date (and any date before will be fine since those will already be converted anyway).
So, taking today for example, when I run the macro, I want it to convert the data only in the 11/8/2011 and previous rows, but NOT for the 11/9/2011 and later rows.

I am trying to find the Maximum Value in Column C based on the criteria that Column B contains "Afghanistan but NOT Mobile.
In a second cell I also want to find the maximum value in Column C based on the criteria that Column B contains "Afghanistan" AND "Mobile"
The code I have come up with is in the table however it is only showing the max value for cells containing "Afghanistan". If I add the wildcard "*" it does not return a value. how I can achieve my objectives?

Now I want to have an overarching month/year displayed over the entire range for any particular month by merging and centering the cells above the month's dates the above code populates, and pull in the month/year formatted as mmm-yyyy. Nov 9, 2009See the attached sheet. I am trying to add together two figs which are linked to calculations which have formula built in to stop error messages when there is a 0 / 0 = #value type error. However when these two cells are added, if the cells are blank I get an error message. And if only one cell has a value, I get "" with my existing formula. what I need to do to get a result of 7 if for example cell A4 = "" + B4 =7. Module 3 deletes certain data and shows values instead of formulas for most of the pricing etc. Module 4 contains a macro that logs info in another central workbook on the server.
If 2 files are opened based on the same template at once, when the Quote_Wrapup macro (in module3) is run on one of the open files(code follows) from a button on the spreadsheet it often produces a Run-time error '9' Subscript out of range error.

I need a macro which should create an "Output" sheet by doing the following on the Input Sheet
1)Insert a Blank Column before Column A
2)Unmerge the Region Heading and insert the respective Region Name in the newly inserted Column. Region Heading will be in Bold Font.
3)Repeat Step 2 for all Regions
4)Delete the Rows which was merged.
Please note that the number of Data Rows will vary for each Region.
I have shown two Regions for explanation purpose only. There will be several Regions in reality.

Excel 2007 :: Lock / Unlock Cells Based On Values Selected In Dropdown List
May 15, 2013I am looking to write a code to lock/unlock cells based on values selected using a drop down list (see attached Excel) For example if Netherlands is chosen as the Country (Column A), then except for the columns Amsterdam (column B) and Eindhoven (column C), all other columns must be locked. Similarly, if India is chosen as the country from the drop down list, then only the columns New Delhi and Mumbai must be editable for the user, the rest of the columns remain locked.
I tried tweaking some of the lock/unlock codes around, but got lost especially with getting to run the macro - still trying to come to terms with running a "Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange" function in the sheet from "Module"!

-Data : Contain all the acc number and balance.
-Working : a sheet for my working to derive what I want . A string contain all the Acc Number
Bascially first I will paste and copy the acc number and balance from an external source to Data, then I wan to create a string of all the acc. This is done by the working from my Working Sheet.
In my Working Sheet, first It will take the value from the Data Sheet. Since the number of Acc / Balance may differ, I wan to know how to remove the 0 and #Num! for those null values.
Following that, I create a column sorting the all number from smallest to biggest, following by next column forming up the string. I do not want the same Acc to repeat in the string.

Often cells are filled with #VALUE, when this occurs I need a way to tell my VBA to assume a value of 0. I have tried using if(cell="#VALUE", 0,cell) but to no avail. any suggestions?

The number of rows this will run through could vary from 2 to over 1 million, but the columns will always be the same. Because of the size of the datasets, this macro can run for quite a while, which is fine, but I'm thinking there's probably a better way to do it. To clarify, the object of this part of the macro is to determine if the date falls on a Saturday, and if so, change the value of the two cells to the right of the date to "0"

Oct 18, 2006We are having a problem merging our databases. We are using excel to streamline databases to be included in our GiftWorks database of donors. However we are having the problem of many duplicates with multiple addresses, contact info etc. I have come to find that there is no way other than the "bitch work" method of going thru by hand in the GiftWorks database to find duplicates. However we can make a smartlist and export to excel and then perhaps merge the new info with this one. I was just wondering if there is anyway to sort duplicates and merge their information by first name/last name.
