Show Rows On Screen But Not Print Them?
Aug 17, 2006
On a spreadsheet in excel from office xp, is it possible to display a row on the screen, but when you print the sheet it doesn't get printed? How do I do that?
I tried hiding the row, but the admin wants to be able to see it on screen and complained too tedious to unhide it on screen then hide it for printing.
I have never written macros for excel so not sure if there is a solution there, or if it can be done another way.
I also thought we could have the data from the row in another sheet that doesn't get printed, but she (the admin) preferred the hide/unhide solution.

I'm just looking to prevent users from using the print screen or the alt print screen buttons on the keyboard. I have this script that works if I use "39" (Right Arrow)but wont work if I use "42" (Print Screen Button).

I have an Excel sheet with several thousand rows. Now I want to create a report using this Excel file such that when I print the Excel File it must be limited to a specific number of row for instance 100 rows per page and at the bottom of that page I want Excel to display the sum of the above 100 rows for one single column. If I do this manually it would take hours therefore I want either a Macro for this or some shortcut to achieve what I am looking for.

Code:
Private Sub CommandButton2_Click()
Me.PrintOut
End Sub
Is there a VBA that will print out the screen in landscape? The above code seems to only print in portrait.

I would like to emulate hitting the Alt+Ctrl+"Print Screen" button on the keyboard with the following code. I know there are some restrictions around using the PrintScreen with the SendKeys, but I'm hoping I can still figure out how to make this work.
Following is the first part of a larger macro I've set up. If I can just get this to work, that would be perfect.
Sub PrintTheScreen()
Application.SendKeys "^%" & "PRTSC"
End Sub

I have a WYSIWYG problem: what I see on the screen is NOT what I get out of the print job.
I commonly have the problem when working with Excel objects (any kind of shape, text box, line, graph) in that the layout looks great on the tab that I created, but when I go into PrintPreview or actually print it out, the shapes don't quite align with what I had built in the tab. Where I thought I had lines joining, the print out shows them crossing at other points. If I then go back to the tab and look at the layout on the regular screen, it looks fine.
This problem can be easily understood if you try to create a triangle by drawing three lines (non-overlapping lines that cross only at the vertices). Note that the lines either prematurely cross, or don't intersect at all when you print it out.
THis problem is even magnified when using the camera function to take a "snapshot" of a graph or other objects. In fact, it has the tendency to even "mess up" the graph's formatting, regarding the arrangement of titles and axes (often making them overlap).

Is there a feature or VB code that will take a screen shot in excel for the sheet that I have active?
What I would like to do is run a macro that does a few things, then takes a screen shot and bundles it up in an email to send (Outlook on Exchange). Since the report is 30 MB it cannot be emailed and taking the time to compose a report w/screen shot takes too much time.

I have a project report, which is user-configurable, allowing the user to customise the data that is displayed based on a number of parameters.
To ensure the report always prints neatly (the number of visible columns and rows varies, depending on the above parameters), so I have a macro that dynamically sets the print area of the worksheet.
At present, I call the macro from the workbook.beforeprint event, which works fine in terms of printing. Ideally however, I would like the macro to be called when CTRL+P is first pressed - i.e. the resulting 'print screen', containing a preview of the print out should reflect what will subsequently be printed, when the 'Print' button is then pressed.
I am not sure if this makes sense (Excel 2010 and 2013 are different from previous versions).

I have a SplashScreen that is activated in the ‘Workbook_Open ‘ Event.
A CheckboxControl on the SplashScreen allows a user to disregard the screen the next time the workbook is opened.
Private Sub Splash_Screen_Activate()
If Splash_Screen.ckbx_StopSplashScreen.Value = True Then
Splash_Screen.Hide
Else
If Splash_Screen.ckbx_StopSplashScreen = False Then
Splash_Screen.Show
End If
End If
End Sub
Unfortunatley my code is not working. I was hoping for some insight into making this work. Mind you, I’m a cut and paste VBA type of person, but I do understand the concepts enough to work with it.
1.What is the proper method for coding this?
2.Which location would this code be placed – the Form itself or a Module?
3.How and where do you store the CheckBox Value to be used the next time the Workbook is opened?

I'm having trouble centering my UserForms on the screen. I have tried all the options on the StartUpPosition in the Properties windows and the closest I can get is vertically centered but on the far left. The annoying thing is that it was working (both vertically and horizontally centered) but when I changed the defaults of the option buttons they moved to the position I described. I have two monitors (but excel is maximised on one monitor only) could this have something to do with my problem? If so why did it work before?

I have a very large workbook with multiple sheets and use macros to copy and paste all data as values, then delete some rows and columns depending on certain criteria. This starts at cell A1 and works right, then down.
This is then saved as a copy and distributed to a wide audience.
The problem is that when each page is opened up, the data shown is the bottom right of the whole sheet instead of the top left ( Panes are frozen for row and column headers).

I have place a camera-picture of a table on the right side of a chart. On the screen it looks great! (See below - with some redaction)
Problem Example.png
.... but when I print it the table expands off of the side of the chart. Scale is 100%, zoom is 100%, Excel 2010 (See below - with some redaction). Whether or not I have a print area does not seem to make a different in the problem. Also, it appears that this happens with any shape I put in that place, it's not specific to the camera tool.

I've have a tool/code that takes the screen prints of the active window (when I press F9) and pastes it in a word document.
But whenever I do copy some text or any other image and when I press F9 to take the screen print of the active window. I get the text pasted into the word, this is because the clipboard content has text first and then the screen print of the active window.
Instead When I press F9, I wanted the below to happen
1. Content from the Clipboard should be cleared
2. Take the screen print
3. Paste it in the word document.
Note: My tool/code already does 2 and 3. Looking for 1 alone, ,

I have a VBA code that copy data from multiple files into my workbook.
I find the first file, copy the ranges I need into my workbook and continue to the next file until all files are done.
The copy operation in each file is - row by row - because I need to ask questions about each row.
As you understand - what the user sees is a flickering window because I activate the source workbbok -> copy the data -> activate this workbook-> paste the data.
I want to avoid the flickering.
An acceptable solution could be to generate a pop up message box that will say "data is being copied. Pleasd wait while operation is completed". BUT - I don't know how to identify that the action is done and message box can be closed.

I am trying to come up with a way to print out data that is variable in the amount of rows to print.
1. Cells C1 thru M6 is heading of report
2. Cells C7 thru M400 all have formulas and display information only when criteria in Column C in each row is met, if condition is not met it displays no informtion. (There lies my problem).
I need a way to print out only the area that information is displayed in and skip the areas that are not displayed. (Currently I have hard coded the print range using the largest report)

I have an excel 2003 sheet that collects data from Infopath forms. The forms are to record students who have broken school rules, when, where, repercussions etc. One column shows their class and there is a separate column for each rule broken.
I want to create another sheet to show each class down the rows and the columns to show each school rule. Therefore, each cell would show the number of each particular rule broken for each particular class. I have tried to do countif and sumproduct (if on sheet 1, column B the class is KA and on sheet 1, column M, the rule is bullying = how many times this has occurred).

I have a spreadsheet that is setup as a master template to accommodate 105 rows of data input. How can I make it display and print only the rows that non zero values have been entered. The final print needs to contain rows A1:A12 and A118:A129 along with A13:A117 containing non zero values only.
Data input is frequently changing so hiding the cells is not an acceptable option.
I was thinking a type of macro would solve this issue but all the ones I have tried are not working correctly.

I have a worksheet with hidden rows and Page Breaks. I know that the page breaks are causing my worksheet to print blank pages where I have page breaks and hidden rows.
I need the page breaks or the form just prints a mess... I tried eliminating them - but that didn't work at all.
I need a macro, which will examine the worksheet, look for the hidden rows, exclude them from the print area, and then Print the worksheet.

I have a workbook wherein data are coming from other sheet ie from "Data" sheet to "statement" sheet. I want to print the second sheet named "Statements" -
1. Do not print the rows having zero value ie hide them during print, applicable to all records.
2. Print the records continuously one by one in separate single A4 size paper on running the code.
A sample workbook is attached for ready testing purpose.
In case more clarification needed, do let me know.
