View 4 RepliesI've got two long columns of dates and names. The dates and names can repeat. Eg:
01/01/14
Fred
01/01/14
Joe
01/01/14
Tom
[Code] ........
I want to input a date and create a list of names with only the names from the date I enter and earlier, and excluding names that appear again with a later date.
E.g. if I enter 01/01/14 I'd get:
Joe
Tom
But not Fred, as although he appears on 01/01/14 he also appears with a later date too.
I'm running a pretty huge database with Part Numbers across several Suppliers which fluctuate constantly.
For example: a HEXAGONAL BOLT may have a Part Number ABC123, but depending on the size of the bolt it could be a ABC123-001 ABC123-V28 ABC123-40mm (etc)
There's a lot of data (some of it sensitive) so I don't want the users to see everything - I'm creating a front-end sheet and am looking for a way for a user to type in the Part Number "ABC123" into cell A1, then the Pivot below to auto-update (with Part Number on the 'Report Filter') to show all variations of ABC123, including ABC123-1 ABC123-2 etc - i.e. not an exact match; everything that contains the characters in cell A1.
The relevant information has been ported in and password protected on a sepearate sheet within the workbook, so it's literally a code to make the cell value affect the filter.
I am working on a pivot table just like the one on the picture here [URL] .......
Ideally I wanted the sums by date to be displayed horizontally and not vertically as shown in the picture, but was unable to do so. Anyways, I want to be able to filter those dates, so I can display data just from an specific date, and then change this date whenever I want and the new data will show up.
I tried doing by the checkbox that appears under the "data" dropdown on top of the column; However, when I uncheck a specific date, it dissapears and I have to add it again if I want to see it. Is there a way to keep the values on the dropdown even after I uncheck them? Or even another way to filter the information? Below is the pic of the dropdown I get when trying to sort the data, But as I said If I uncheck one of the values, it dissapears from the list.

is there any way to NOT Displaying Items with No Data when filtering data in my pivot table?
For instance, I have 2 report filters: Category and Subcategory, when I select a category in the first filter I want to see only the options of subcategories with data in the second filter, I mean display only the subcategories of the Category previously filter.
Same scenario I have with a report with Directors and Organizations, when I filter one Director it would be nice to see only the organizations of this director and not all options on the data.
I am confronting a problem with a ListBox that displays Item by the selection of a ComboBox in the same Userform.
All works like this in the column “A” from my data sheet I have a list of names and in the column J I have a list of years.
What my UserForm1 dose is to select the year column with the ComboBox and display in the ListBox the corresponding name from this year selection. Until there all work fine.
Now I have to display in the TextBoxes form the Userform2 all data form my (data sheet) and this dose not work properly.
What happens is that when I select and Item in my listBox.Userform1, Usrform2 kind of display Items from another person.
I will also attach an example on this thread for a better view of my problem.
I have a collection with several thousand items. I added the collection to the Watch Window in the VBE editor, but the Watch Window only displays the first 256 items in the collection. Is it possible to view all items of a collection in the Watch Window?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI Want to fetch a data as below.
ITEM RESULT
M&C_ES_F_55+_Phase1 <55>
M&C_BR_F_18-34_Phase1 <18-34>
M&C_ES_F_35-54_Phase1 <35-54>
Likewise there are many line items, wherein i want the Age should be searched in ITEM column and should be displayed in the RESULT column.
* I don't want to Use text to column method, is it possible to use IF condition along with Search formula.
I have a list of account numbers with stock attached to each account. I want to show all account numbers that do not have any one of 5 items attached to it. See my attached (simplified) example, show all accounts that dont have Bananas or Oranges, account number 222 and 444 would be displayed.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a long column of 9-digit numbers which represent the swipe-card-ID's of patrons accessing a parking facility. Most of them occur more than once, some of them many times. There is an operational rule that bars them from using the facility more than x times. (I can't implement this limitation in the parking software/hardware, or I would happily do so.)
So my question is, is there a way to process through that column, identifying each unique ID, and reporting any that occur more than x times?
Can you display items from 1 column on a worksheet in 2 columns on a Listbox?
This is to avoid having a Listbox that is too long for the form, (I know I can use a scrollbar and I am but I would still like it shorter if possible).

I am trying to work on Sheet 2(Details per person). I want to be able to display all items in a row that matches the 2 criteria (Skype ID and Date) and the items are based from Master Raw file which is in another sheet. I would like to just use index and match.
How can I FILTER a range and display the unique items, one below the other, WITHOUT blank cells - with only a FORMULA. What I came up with is shown in the attached WB. I would like to present the countries like in C11:C15.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt's a quarterly schedule for utility meter readers, divided up into days across the top, and routes/areas down the side.
There's a space with each route for the employee ID to go, depending on who's doing it.
Down the bottom of the sheet, there's a few empty lines for all the available employees who haven't been allocated to a route.
On the second sheet labelled EMP LIST, is all the employee IDs. It's also got the areas they work- it's for something I want to implement later.
I can put all the employees into a single column list, then use basic DV to give a dropdown menu by each route, to assign an employee to it. This is pretty straight forward. I've also been playing with this in combination with a countif, so that employees already assigned do not appear in the list.
This is about as far as I've managed to get with it.
I need to get the employees who aren't assigned to anything to appear in a list below the routes. I'm fairly sure this is just another countif, but I'm not 100% on the exact formulas.
I also need the list in the dropdown menu to reset for each day of the quarter, i.e. if I assign an employee to a route on the 30th day of the quarter, their ID will disappear from the list for any other route for that day, but will still be there for the other days of the quarter.
So far the only way I've managed to do this is by duplicating the employee list for every day of the quarter, which is going to get very cluttered, and also makes staffing changes difficult. I'm hoping there's an easier way to do this using one data set.
I've added an example of the sheet. It's one week and it's only got about 1/3 of the routes we would actually have on any given day.

When inserting "1" in the cell under soup, i was thinking it will bring up a list of its ingredients and how much of that ingredient. The values are listed in the same spread sheet below.
The amount of the ingredient is in D50 (80grams) and the item type next to it in E50(onion)
Is it possible to put in "1" soup then it displays all the items in both those cells range example(D50-E50 to D60-E60)?
Is it possible to put the value "2" in soup and it shows double the measurements? example (160grams) (onion)
I have a spreadsheet that lists a set of actions and the days they need to be completed.
The due dates are listed in column c and in column h I have a the user choosing "completed" from a drop down data validation.
I have a dashboard on a separate worksheet, showing if the item is complete and the due date.
Ideally I would like to display the dates on the dashboard in red if they are past due, and the box in column h was not marked complete.
I have been going through my books and trying to solve this, but I run into a different issues.
Even if for now If I can get the main worksheet to display the color conditional formatting that would work
I need to count the total number of times 4 different values appear in a column. This formula works for one value:
=COUNTIFS(Source!$C:$C,$B5,Source!$J:$J,$L$3,Source!$L:$L,$H$1)
Where H1 contains the word Assigned. I need to also find and add to count for matches in I1,J1 and K1 which contain New, Pending and Work in Progress respectively.
I am wanting to create a list where I can select multiple items within that list and then print only those selected items. I have created something similar thru data validation, but I can't get it to print.
In addition, I would like to be able to subdivide the list into multiple categories, then select items from these multiple categories and print them.
If i select 3 items from a list 20 items to be show on the cube this is fine and works however if i then add another item to the list i now have 21 items and for some reason it also adds itself to my 3 selected items to become 4 items. Is there anyway I can get it to be added to the 20 items and not to the 3 items..
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know how to use array formulae to create a unique list, i.e.{=INDEX($G$1:$G$760,SMALL(IF(ROW($G$1:$G$760)=MATCH($G$1:$G$760,$G$1:$G$760,0),ROW($G$1:$G$760)),ROW()))}
however this is giving all the unique items from column G and I only want the unique items that have a non-zero value in column H as well. This would be the sumif of all instances that would have to be zero. I've tried to crack it and I've tried to search for solutions but so far no joy.
Example:....
i m wanting Cell B1 to display true if any of the values in column C match otherwise I want to display false.
A 1
B 0
C 0
D 0
But I can't determine how to get this done.
I have attached the spreadsheet for reference. All other sheets pull information from the WHITE sheet.
I want the columns for unit price, discount and total to be set to two decimal places but I also don't want it to show anything if the field has a 0 value (so if i only have a few items I don't get lots of o's).
To get the field to not display a 0 if it is empty on the WHITE sheet I have been using "0;-0;;@" which I found on the net. If I use this then it negates the two decimal places.
This also includes the WHITE sheet.
I am having an issue filtering data in a spreadsheet:
Each set of information has 5 lines of information (title, information, manager, status, sponsor) and the first column of each data set is a merged 5 row box with the area of operation (this does not have to be merged if this is creating the issue). I need to be able to filter by area of operation and have all 5 rows showing. Right now, Excel only shows me one row for each set of data with the area of operation as one row.
I have a spreadsheet with Row 1 as the header and Row 2 as sub-headers. I want to filter automatically to 2nd row, but whenever I press on Ctrl+Shift+L, I have the first column filtered. I have another spreadsheet that whenever I press Ctrl+Shift+L, it automatically filters the 2nd row instead. I'm not pretty sure what's the difference. I have my spreadsheet frozen on cell B3 (not sure if it has something to do with freezing cells. I know I can select 2nd row before pressing on Ctrl+Shift+L, but is there some other way to have this automated?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I give excel the advanced filter criteria <=2/15/2008 it seems to list all the dates prior to and on that date. Are there any pitfalls to this filtering technique (i.e. would any dates fall through the cracks)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to know whether it's possible to evaluate the percentage of a text value ie 'Approved', after filters on other columns have been done.
AREA YR DECISION
HN 09 APPROVED
NYM 08 REFUSED
RC 09 APPROVED
HN 09
RC 08 REFUSED
? %
So if I filter by AREA and/or YR, I would like the % of how many were 'Approved' in that filtered range (ignoring any blank cells in the DECISION column).
So far I have a basic
=TEXT(COUNTIF(C2:C6,"*Approved*")/ROWS(C2:C6),"0% ""Approval Rate""")
but it doesn't work once I filter by AREA or YR, and doesn't ignore blanks.
I'm quite newbie for VBA for excel, my friend asked me a favor to filter the data on his excel, so when he enter some keyword, the table would sorted (only show the row that have that keyword), and if possible that he enter it few keyword.
keyword example VB, oracle
table example ....
I have an excel with the following information
A1 - Is a dropdown which will have names of the systems (EAI,Mediation,CDF
..,All)
Row2 will be header which will have following data
B2 - Project Id
C2 - System ID
D2 - Project name
E2 - Project Phase
F2 - Status
from g2 to GN2 there are about 60 resources names entered
From C3 to F3 the data wil be entered and appropriately a chk mark will be
made to the corresponding resource wroking on that project
Say i have about 10 systems provided as dropdown for entering data in A1
(Ex: EAI, MEdiation, .....)
There are resources working for each system
when i apply filtering on a system name i shoud be able
to show only those resources working for that system and all others should be
hidden
Also under the "system" dropdown i will have an option "All", when "All"
option is selected i should be able to see all the data for all the systems.
EX: if i take system "EAI" and if the resources working for eai are there in
AO2 to AX2 then i want the resources from AX2 onwards and before AO2
not to be shown.
If i take a system "Mediation" and if its resources are from Z2 to AI2
then i want resources before Z2 and after AI2 notto be shown.
If "All" option is chosen then i should be able to see the whole sheet
with all the data for all the systems and all resources.
I have a filter that works in Excel 2007, and I'm trying to figureout how to make it work in Excel 2003. OrderNums is an array of multiple criteria. The below code works perfectly in Excel 2007.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've filtered my data - such as selecting a date range - and then run the pivot, but the pivot ignores the filter and gives me data for all the dates. my workaround is to copy and paste the filtered data to a new sheet and run the pivot off that sheet. This works fine, but maybe I can avoid this step?
