I have a spreadsheet, where I am measuring dimensions for a cpk test. My question is, can I use vba to format the calculated cpk cell so that if it falls below a certain value it replaces that value with whatever I have specified in vba? Was wondering is this is possible.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a desk planning spreadsheet in excel. Each week a mailmerge sends out an email to everyone in the office asking them to confirm when they will need a desk in the next week.
As the normal employee doesnt get involved in desk planning I want them simply to state whether they will be in the building or not by entering "GH" (our building) in a cell under each day in the email they get sent.
When the reply comes in we select the cells from the email and then paste them into the desk planning spreadsheet.

WHAT I NEED TO DO:
Select some cells (must be in the same row - that we have just pasted in).
Press a button on the Worksheet labelled "Auto Assign Desk", which does this:-
For each cell that contains "GH", replace with the right-most cell to the left of the selection that starts "GH_"... (this is the start of a unique desk reference (GH_1_1, GH_1_2,etc.)

This will assign the employee to the desk they were sat at last, when they are in the office next week.
Is there a way to make a macro convert '1' to Yes and '0' to No? I have 2 columns (F and G) in a worksheet that contain the value of 1 or 0, but I need to convert them to Yes or No. I have tried some fo the samples but they pop up a msgbox which is not required.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working with a spreadsheet that has our user data; User(First) Name, User(Last) name, Computer Name, MAC address, Phone Number, Seating Position and Network Port Number.
I have let this get horribly out of sync, moved computers around, and moved them while the MAC address column was hidden, As a result, I have a bunch of users listed as being at the wrong computer. I have a second spreadsheet I generated that gives me the logged in user for about 2/3 of my computers, with the computer name(Just 2 columns, 'A' and 'B'. I would like to have Excel match the computer name and then overwrite the user name. For example, if the first computer in my correct user list is DELL-99945ty2, and the user name is "Jimbo Jones", I would like it to search the first Excel doc(The one with all of the user data), and replace the user name with "Jimbo Jones". Is this simple and straightforward?
In my main spreadsheet, the user name is in column B and the computer name is in column G, So I want to use the values from Column B in my second document to find its match in Column G of the first spreadsheet, and then replace the data in Column B with Column A in the first spreadsheet.
I have a Master work sheet consisting sale data of more than 400 Sales person for a period of 6 Months.
The Employee Codes are entered in column "F" starting from F6, F7, F8 and so on....

Since each sales person's occurrence is 6 times in the master sheet, I would like to have a code to search each and every sales person by their employee ID through out the entire master sheet, sum each product they sold as per the product name and get it entered in their concern cells.
I have a file consisting of two columns, called, "bom ref" and "material"
I need to show the data as indicated in the file, headed required format required.
In effect where I have a 0, that is the material I need to show for every row with a bom ref. of 1,2 or 3, down as far as the next 0 but not including the 0, when I reach the next 0, the material is a new letter, and that letter needs to repeat down as far as the next 0, but not including the 0 and so on.

If YES, I want to append the value with My and replace the rest with just the the 1st 3 characters So the final value would be My3AB
If NO, (the cell has the value 3AB02456 XYZ) I want to replace with a hyphen after the 3rd character and then the rest of the cell value. So the final value would be My3AB-02456 XYZ
I have several worksheets each with a column of about 2000 cells. I want to replace the data in the cells and not create another row with the result.
In a cell(s) I have for example {text}dd%2BMore_Text}
what i want to do is search and replace the final }
so it should be {text}dd%2BMore_Text
the regular search and replace in excel removes all } which is not what i need.
Switched to Excel after using OpenOffice and I'm stuck on knowing what an old a 'find and replace' formula would be in Excel. It would remove a specific character (or word) ONLY if it was the last characters in a cell.
The old find and replace for open office:
Find: (.*)/$
Replace: $1
It's not that important now to delete a word, mainly the last slash '/' ONLY if it's the last character e.g. this data has 2 rows with a '/' as the last character

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have one sheet in my workbook called 'mapping' which has a list of codes on it, the length of which will vary on a periodic basis.
I have another fairly large sheet on the workbook called 'data' (around 2000 rows) that will also vary in size. I want to do a search on the data tab for each code that is contained on column 4 of the mapping tab and if the code is found, enters the corresponding value from column 1 of the mapping tab to the cell 6 columns to the left of where the code was found on the data tab (cols H and B in this case).
The issue I have is the codes maybe contained more than once on the data tab so I need the find/replace command to search the whole of the data tab and perform the task each time.
How to copy paste data without replace existing data or keeping existing data?

I want to do is search for "&s_kwcid" or anything containing "&s_kwcid" and replace it with blank. So above would then read:

I tried =IF(SUM(COUNTIF(E2,{"&s_kwcid*"}))=1,E2,"") but it didn't work. I tried auto filtering, and using contains &s_kwcid* but it didn't filter out results, but find &s_kwcid did find results for text anywhere in string, so I know the problem is there.

I am trying to create a macro where it finds a a certain word in a column for example C. What i want it to do is find anything that says FWD_EUR and then replace that cell (e.g C2) with CASH_EUR_FWD and after it has done that it replaces the adjacent cell (e.g. D2) with EUR_FWD. I then want this to do the same with FWD_USD to CASH_USD_FWD and adjacent cell to USD_FWD.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an excel workbook where some sheets have a column called "Name" in Row 3. The column where "Name" appears shifts based upon other criteria so it's not set within 1 specific column.
The real data for the "Name" column starts in Row 5. Is it possible to create a macro that looks in Row 3 for "Name", then once it finds that column, it does a find and replace from Row 5 to the end of the data and replaces every space with a ^.
For example, if I have:

Row 4
Row 5 John Smith
Row 6 Jane Doe

I have a column of references I wish to standardize. Contained within a general text description there is also an order-specific reference number, which is not relevant for my purposes. I wish to find all of these numbers and replace them with nothing (i.e. retain the rest of the description).
The reference numbers are always in the format "P#####/##". Unfortunately these references are in the middle of the text field, not at the start or end, so I can't use a LEFT or RIGHT formula to delete them.
Once these reference numbers have been deleted I will then be able to filter for unique records only. When I do this at the moment the filtering has no effect due to these specific reference numbers.
I need a macro that will look for a specific text string in the tab names of the workbook and replace it with a new specified text string (leaving the rest of the existing tab names). In other words, a simple find/replace but applied to all tab names in the workbook rather than cells. Ideally, I'd like it to pop up something and ask for the text to find and the text to replace it with, so I don't have to edit the macro itself each time I want to use it, but editing the macro each time is fine. Either way will be wonderful.

I have a big data sheet. I have approximately 2170 rows and 50 columns. In some rows I have a series of consecutive zeros. I need to build a formula that gives me the date ( located in row3) right before the first zero in the series of consecutive 12 zeros.
For instance in row 1340 I have a series of 12 consecutive zeros. The first zero happens in column AC, therefore I need the formula to retrieve cell AD3. however every rows has zeros located in different cells therefore I need a general formula.
I need a quick macro that will search column D for the words "balance forward" then delete the entire row. The macro needs to loop through many rows and it contain more than one "balance forward" reference.

I can get the exact time to appear in the cell currently but when I try to assign a second truck, the load 2 'B2' cell AND the load 1 'B1'. I have an Excel 2003 spreadsheet with multiple sheets - one main one with all data and others which have only the data that falls into certain criteria. I'm wondering if there's a way to enter the information on the main sheet and have it automatically populate the correct "sub-worksheet" depending on what is entered in a specific column.
I'm not describing this well but I've attached a sample of what I mean.
I have created a form where a date and remark is added every few days. I am using Phone Number as the base of VLookup. I want a code so that the date and remark which is entered in a Text Box, is stored in the first available blank cell pertaining to that employee. I want the first date and remark to be under "Date 1" and "Remark 1".
Thereafter, if another remark is subsequently added for that employee, the form would ask to enter his phone number to identify which employee the remark pertains to. Then the Text Box where remark is entered should be stored under "Remark 1" if there has been no remark before, "Remark 2" if "Remark 1" already exists, "Remark 3" if "Remark 2" already exists and so on.
I do not want to enter it in a new row. I want to enter the remark in the next blank cell of the row which matches the employee Phone Number.
