First row are months (number representing specific month). I would like use conditional formating and color cell below month if that cell is empty and if it is more that 15th of that month.
To be more specific. If we look at last column (since we are already in december). Since today is 04 december the cell below "12" should remain uncolored. But when the date will be 16th of december I want that cell to color orange. Since it is blank. But if there would be a number in it, cell should remain blank even after 16th of december.
In a large table what is the simplest way to delete all empty rows? Excel 2013.

Its length is from 1 to i where i takes dynamic value from varibable.
Now the problem is MyArr(1 to i) has some empty values.
Like say: if i = 5 then
MyArr(1) = "a"
MyArr(2) = ""
MyArr(3) = "b"
MyArr(4) = ""
MyArr(5) = "c"
How can I get rid of those empty elements so that MyArr() becomes only three elements long and then display them in a range of three cells.
I have the following macro that imports a copy of data into a worksheet. I would like it to paste the data below in first empty row (where column A is empty) instead of A1. I am using Excel 2010.

Is there a way to select completely empty rows in Excel 2007 (Win 7)? I have found directions for highlighting empty cells (f5, Special, Blanks...), but sometimes the cells selected will be in rows with other filled cells in them so that doesn't really do what I need.

I have two work sheets where I have data.
Sheet1 contain daily input table which as follows:

Sheet2 have table where all the information is saved. So we can say this is database of sheet1. Which store every day information of sheet 1.

I want that when I finished writing on the sheet 1(which i do manually) then with macro it go the sheet 2 and find first empty cell in the name column and past the all the data of sheet1 table. Months I will put manually. I am working on MS2003.

I am trying to concatenate entries into one cell so that when uploaded, the comma-separated contents will be treated as tags. copperberry sample file.xlsxSee attached sample file. Wherever there is a 1 in a row, I want to take the column header text above that 1 and concatenate it with subsequent text in the cell at the end of the row. See sample end result in cell J2. I assume I need an IF statement, but I'm not sure how to phrase it to collect all the concatenations needed. There are 200+ rows.

Let's say I have 2 files: Source file and working file. In source file there are some text names in a column that are updated once in a while.
1. I need to create a column in "working file" such that is taking values from column in "source file" even when "source file" is closed.
2. It should take only non empty values, because I need to create a cell with validation list that consists of text names from the column.
Solving attempt: By searching some solutions in forum I found that the first part I can do in the following way: copy column from "source file", select in "working file" a "paste special" option and choose "paste link". It works, but the problem is that it imports all the column: if in "source file" the column consists of words "a" (cell A1), "b" (cell A2) and all other cells in A column are empty - in "working file", after linking, it appears as "a" (cell A1), "b" (cell A2) and all other cells in A column are "0" (zeros) till cell A65536. And I need that in "working file" column after linking will appear as "a" (cell A1), "b" (cell A2) and all other cells will be empty, so by setting one of cells in B column to be a list (by "Data" - "Data validation" - "List" ) - it will consist only from "a" and "b", and not from "a", "b", "0", "0", "0", .... (65534 zeros).
This was so easy to do in excel 2003...However im now using 2010 and i cant figure out how to tell excel to ignore the empty cells for a scatter plot.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm back working on my estimate sheet again and hit another roadblock. I have a series of rows all separated by multiple spaces and would like to copy every one to the first empty column on a separate page sequentially until a certain condition is met (first time row starts with zero in column U, in this pic second row down would end routine).
The first column here is U on sheet "Partitions & Woodwork" so since this first row doesn't start with a zero, U10 - BC10 would need to be copied and pasted transposed into the first open column on sheet "Rebirth" (2nd pic below).

It would be pasted transposed here from B2 downwards on sheet named "Rebirth". The next row that didn't start with zero would be pasted transposed starting at c2 and so on until the first time a row beginning at column U on sheet "Partitions & Woodwork" began with a zero (0).
The number of spaces between rows being copied varies on the partitions & woodwork sheet but the columns (U - BC) are a constant every time a row needs to be copied.
I'm trying to use VBA to automatically change the data displayed in an excel chart. To do this I count the number of items displayed on the chart using Chart.Seriescollection.Count. I then loop over the Chart.Seriescollection(x) and try to change the Chart.Seriescollection(x).Formula string to link to the cells I want.
Problem is that, sometimes, the cells the curve is currently linked to are empty. Such a curve does show up in the Count, but I can't access the .Formula, even though this can be done manually from within Excel.

I'm stuck using Excel 2003 to auto-populate a cell.
I have a range of dates in five consecutive columns called:
Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, Phase 4 and Phase 5
I enter the date that 'Phase 1' starts under the first header. Once Phase 2 starts I enter a date under 'Phase 2', and so on to Phase 5.
Each phase is consecutive to the next so will always be filled in from 1 to 5.
I want to create an additional column called 'Status' that shows the Column Title of the last phase with a date in it. For example, if Phase 1 to 3 had dates but 4 & 5 were blank, "Phase 3" would be displayed in the 'Status' column.
I've tried nesting some ISBLANK functions without any luck.

1) 4 values contains in each row based on the values from those cells the max value will display.
2) if more than 2 cells have empty,NR or NA text means the entire row has to delete.
3) if 2 or more that means 3 cells having values the empty cell,NR or NA cell will place value with the condition of macro that is 75% of other values which is maximum among them.

I am trying to populate the 2 tables from excel to word. I will be getting the excel file with tables in various sheets. One sheet consist of 2 tables that will be inserted to one word document. So if there are 2 sheets then I will have the tables inserted in the 2 word document. In the excel sheet I have attached, there are 2 sheets with tables in each of them. I have written the code to copy and paste the table to word doc from (general) range A1:G4 (Table 1) and A9:H18 (Table 2) that has empty rows and columns selected. But there are empty rows and columns inserted since the table range is not same sheetwise. I would like get the empty rows and columns deleted in the word table.

If there is no values in the rows in the Department sheet, then i need to hide the rows in my sheet. How to code this in VBA. When they add values to the rows then i should make the rows visble here. I have a form with a main list box and several other list boxes. I drag and drop records from the main list box to the others. When I drop a record onto one of the list boxes, a corresponding worksheet is updated with the same record. This works just fine.

Is it possible to make a cell "really" blank/empty based on an If statement? For instance:
=if(a1>10,a1,"")
Has a value_if_false of "". But Excel interprets this a bit differently than a cell that never had anything typed into it.
So if you have a column full of this formula copied down, and hit <control+down arrow>, you will go straight to the bottom and skip over all rows. Whereas if you have a column with values and empty cells alternating and hit <control+down arrow>, you will only skip the empty cells and go to the next value. Excel treats the conditionally empty cells as if they have a value, when it comes to this type of navigation. This holds even if you copy and paste "Values" for the cells over the formulas.
Is there any way to tell Excel to make the cells truly empty?
1 workbook, 2 worksheets (or tabs). On tab 1, I want a formula/alert that tells the user if any duplicate values exist in Column A of tab 2
Tab 2, Column A, has Unique ID's (6 digit numeric values)
The user manually inputs the ID's on new rows in Column A
Row 1 is reserved and in use for something else
Row 2 is my header, so cell A2 says "ID"
Row 3-623 currently contain unique ID's
When the user inputs a new ID into cell A624, then they return to Tab 1, I want my formula/alert on Tab 1 to tell the user that they have duplicates in Column A of tab 2. I know the Conditional Formatting, but if the user copies in 100 new values, they won't necessarily see the highlighted cells. My tab 1 is my "checks and balances" and the last place the user is suppposed to look to ensure that they haven't created any duplicate ID's. If the user sees a warning message that says duplicates exist, then I'll tell them that they need to look at column A (for cells that have been conditionally highlighted).
One issue that I'm running into with the conditional highlighting is that I want cells A3:A1048576 to already have the conditional formatting - this way when the user inserts a value into Cell A624, then A625, etc they conditional formatting is already there. Right now with data in cells A3:A623, cells A624:A1048576 are all highlighted with the Red/Bold Red Font (which is okay I guess), but ideally it would be nice to not count 2+ empty cells as duplicates and I'll have to have my formula on Tab 1 not include the blank cells.
I DO NOT want to use the Remove Duplicates feature of Excel 2010. If I remove them I could be removing data in columns B, C, D, etc that belong to the Unique ID. I just need the user to be told in Tab 1 that they DO have duplicates and I'll train the user how to research this and fix it.
The reason I want to look for duplicates in the entire Column A is because the list of Unique ID's will grow over time.
I need to write a macro which checks cells in one column and if the cell is empty it deletes the whole row (which contains the cell).
I tried this code but it doesn't delete all rows with empty cells:
I am using the following block of code, which cycles through the data and first deletes any cell with "Legal:" in it, and then cycles through again and deletes any row where the cell is blank.
The problem is that within the data, there are some locations where there are two blank rows in a row. When the code runs through, it deletes the FIRST blank row only, not the second. I Need ALL blank rows within the data set to be deleted.

If not, just deleting all the blank rows is good. Right now, I have to have the second block of code run twice to get rid of the remaining blank rows.
Working in Excel 2007. I am using excel for a data log (basically) and want it to format all empty cells in a row yellow if there is data in column A
Basically, If i have a value in A2, I want any empty cell between B2-G2 to be filled in yellow (as an idicator to the inputter that the cell needs to be completed).
there is already conditional formatting on these cells, which i want to maintain for the non-empty cells. I also have "0" as a value, so I couldn't use the basic conditional formatting setting it =0, it highlighted cells with $0.00, which i do not want.
