First row are months (number representing specific month). I would like use conditional formating and color cell below month if that cell is empty and if it is more that 15th of that month.
To be more specific. If we look at last column (since we are already in december). Since today is 04 december the cell below "12" should remain uncolored. But when the date will be 16th of december I want that cell to color orange. Since it is blank. But if there would be a number in it, cell should remain blank even after 16th of december.
How is it possible to leave a cell in a set color, if nothing is entered in the cell? And is it possible to merge it with it with existing formulas allready in the cell?
I have a spreadsheet that has a bunch of empty cells that I need to fill in. Someone else needs to know which ones I have filled in after I am done. Is there a way that I can have Excel automatically highlight the cell after I put something in?
I know I could highlight the cell manually after I put something in it but if Excel can do this automatically for me, that would be the best as this is a very large spreadsheet and there will be many blanks to fill in. I am using Excel 2003.
I'm trying to create a tag with a color border. What I desire is to fill the BLANK cells around the tag, A1:D1 + D1:D19 + A1:D19 + A1:19 in a certain color based on the text value of the cell B11. There are 5 different values, such that if the B11 read Red Sox - the boarder is going to be red, if it reads Houston Astros it will be dark blue, etc..
I have a similar problem with changing the color of the cell based on the month. So regardless of the year, 2014, 2015, 2016, etc... If I use MONTH() function I can just get numbers from 1-12. I want Cell C16-C18 to be certain color depending the date entered in cell C17 such that for each quarter, months 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 they are different color.
I have had no luck with conditional formatting (and I also believe that it is good up to 3 cases only). I am decent in logic/programming language but have little knowledge with macro notation and especially how to run them in excel 2013. I do know how to start it alt+F11 and that I need to make sure that code is written under the specific sheet where my tag is located.
I am trying to use VBA in Excel 2007 to change bar chart series colors. I have found a few posts that link it to a cell background, but I'm struggling to find one that does the font color.
It would be great if I could change the bar chart series to match the color of the text in the A column, so that if I highlighted the value in A1 and changed the text color to orange for whatever reason, the chart updates the value of 1.2 to an orange bar (see below).
I have a range of cells that change colors with conditional formats based on the cell value from high to low. I would like to link the cell color to an object such as a circle or rectangle. When the cell value changes along with the conditional format, the color of the object will also change.
I am trying to use Options>View - Zero Values.", "style="background: #FFFFFF;padding: 2px;font-size: 10px;width: 550px;"");' onmouseout='GAL_hidepopup();'>formatting.htm" target="_blank">Conditional Formatting to change the cell color based on wether the content is an even number or an odd number. Actually it is an even or odd date but I figure that it will read the date as it's serial number and that would be a number. I thought I would use something like "Formula is: =MOD(VALUE,2)" but I can't get it to work. I'd like to be able to do this without using the Analysis Toolpack. Even though ISEVEN seems like it might be a good solution.
I have a Timesheet where I am trying to get Saturday and Sunday to auto fill with a certain color whenever the month is changed. The spreadsheet is setup so that if the month is changed in a specified cell, then the dates of that month auto fill down a specified column. I would like Saturday's and Sunday's to be a certain color without having to manually color fill them every time the month is changed. Is there a formula or macro for this. I have tried setting up conditional formatting but I don't know how to get the color to follow Sat&Sun. I have attached the spreadsheet.
The macro I have is looping all sheets looking for empty cells in a specific column, and when it founds an empty cell the value for one cell is copied to the empty cell.
But in one worksheet it stops with the error:
Run-time error '1004' Application-defined or object-defined error
is it possible to have the tab colored if the cell B4 of every page is not empty. Also if i have a workbook of ten plus sheets, is it possible to have the sheets auto moved to the "left" in the tab color if the cell B4 is not empty also.
how to make my network days stop counting when I insert a value in the completed column (in this case H3). I have a Date Received column (A3), a due day column (G3) and the last column with the date (N3). My remaining days column keeps counting after I filled the completed cell (H3) and won't stop counting after. I need a formula to stop after the completed cell is fill up.
I have this SS that uses conditional formatting to color days in a calendar, dates are entered in columns B & C when the dates are entered then the days of the month highlight. Everything works great but I can not get the conditional formatting to work in column E. Column E would be January 1. If I enter Jan 1 in column B & Jan 30 in column C all the days highlight except Jan 1? I have uploaded the SS.
Sheet1 contain daily input table which as follows: Name salaryBonusXX10002XY9001YY11002ZY15003ZZ12502AA10502AZ9501
Sheet2 have table where all the information is saved. So we can say this is database of sheet1. Which store every day information of sheet 1.
SALARY DATABASEMonth Name Salary Bonus
Problem:
I want that when I finished writing on the sheet 1(which i do manually) then with macro it go the sheet 2 and find first empty cell in the name column and past the all the data of sheet1 table. Months I will put manually. I am working on MS2003.
I am having a problem in selecting empty cells were some of them are numbers... does anyone knows how to filter the numbers as well. In one column I want to mark with colors the empty cells, in this column we can find cells with text and others with numbers, so when my marcos arrives to those that have numbers I have an Error message.
Sub Colour() dercell_conver = Range("I65500").End(xlUp).Row For j = 4 To dercell_conver If Cells(j, 9) = "" And Cells(j, 9) <> "#" Then Range("I" & j).Select With Selection.Interior .ColorIndex = 38 .Pattern = xlSolid End With End If Next j End Sub
I currently have a sheet that shows monthly tasks and their due dates. There is also a control that when clicked, resets the due date to the following month of the same day.
What I would like to do is setup some type of reminder such as either flash the due date cell if possible or change the fill color. It should do this when the system date is = to or 4 days before the due date.
The only way I can see doing this is using VBA, which I do not know very well.
I am trying to concatenate entries into one cell so that when uploaded, the comma-separated contents will be treated as tags. copperberry sample file.xlsxSee attached sample file. Wherever there is a 1 in a row, I want to take the column header text above that 1 and concatenate it with subsequent text in the cell at the end of the row. See sample end result in cell J2. I assume I need an IF statement, but I'm not sure how to phrase it to collect all the concatenations needed. There are 200+ rows.
I have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet consisting of many worksheets (20 or so). Each of these worksheets contain detail level data regarding different projects. One of the columns in these worksheets is the 'Status' column (column F). There is conditional formatting on this column where if the text is 'G' then change background to a green color, 'Y'=yellow, 'R'=Red and 'U'=Grey.
The first worksheet is a summary sheet that I would like to pull information from each of the detail worksheet's columns B, D, E, G and H if the status column (Column F) is 'R' or 'Y'.
The number of rows in the detail worksheet can change each week (as few as 0 and as many as 100)
I have a spread sheet and I want to conditionally format rows to be a certain color. That part I'm fine with. But I don't want them to be a set color. I have a "key" of different colored cells that I want to be the fill colors of the formatting. The ultimate goal is that for example the key looked like this
red blue yellow green
then the rows I had would be formatted as red, blue, yellow, and green. But if you were to go into the key and change the first cell from red to purple, then the rows would become formatted as purple, blue, yellow, and green. Obviously I can copy formating by hand using the format painter, but I want it to update automatically.
I would like to accomplish 2 things in my Excel 2010 spreadsheet by click a cell which already has a number and formatting in it.
1. How do I change the color of the cell, the color of the number in it, and the border around it. (Make it look like I just pressed a button by clicking it.)
2. At the same time have the text in different cell and the number in the selected cell appear in another different cell. (Text in a different cell = A , and the number in the selected cell = 23, the value in the resulting cell be "A 23") Everything I would like to happen at the same time by clicking the selected cell. I would also like this to be done several times by clicking different cells and not changing the previously selected cells.
I need VBA code to fill a column with a color. I need it to stop when there's no more data. instead of filling column to the end of the entire page. and each sheet i open will have different amount of rows.
I wanted to determine the number of days between two dates. Specifically, if the initial date is in one month, and the second is in a different month and an output would result a number of days in each month until the final date. BUT I have a large amount of data to do this for in a list view, way to put a formula in excel and just drag down the entire list to get the required information. see below for an example.
The result I'm looking for is the separate the months and only show the relevant months between the two dates in one cell or the adjacent. Something similar to the table outlined below.
I'm stuck using Excel 2003 to auto-populate a cell.
I have a range of dates in five consecutive columns called:
Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, Phase 4 and Phase 5
I enter the date that 'Phase 1' starts under the first header. Once Phase 2 starts I enter a date under 'Phase 2', and so on to Phase 5.
Each phase is consecutive to the next so will always be filled in from 1 to 5.
I want to create an additional column called 'Status' that shows the Column Title of the last phase with a date in it. For example, if Phase 1 to 3 had dates but 4 & 5 were blank, "Phase 3" would be displayed in the 'Status' column.
I've tried nesting some ISBLANK functions without any luck.
I want to be able to change a color of one cell according to color of another cell. suppose, cell A1 has text "apples" having red color. Now, if I enter text same as A1("apples") in another cell, say B1, then color of text entered in cell B1 should be red. I am using Excel 2007
I am using Excel 2010 and trying to change/edit the color of the tabs in my workbook to turn green or red based on a y or n placed in a cell (the same cell on each tab). I have tried variations on several themes others have asked about as well for Excel 2007 and attempted to adapt them to fit my situation but none seem to work. Here's what I was starting with:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Select Case Range("A1").Value Case Is < 2.5 Sheet1.Tab.Color = vbRed Case Is > 2. 5, Is < 4 Sheet1.Tab.Color = vbGreen End Select End Sub
The cell I'm using is F2 and my cell value is simply y or n. I realize the example above references numeric values and greater than/less than options, but I'm not sure how to correct this for my need.
I have a workbook in which there is a sheet containing a table.
Excel 2002ABC123Specific Gravity6 Volt ValuesSOC40.0000.000Dead 51.1345.97010%61.1485.99020%71.1626.02030%81.1766.06040%91.1906.10050%101.1976.12055% 111.2046.14060%121.2116.16065%131.2186.18070%141.2256.20075%151.2336.23080%161.2416.26085% 171.2496.31290%181.2576.32095%191.2656.350100%SOC Chart
From another sheet I query this table using the LOOKUP function to obtain values from column C such as 25% 60% and so on. A typical query formula looks like this:
=LOOKUP(B2,'SOC Chart'!B4:'SOC Chart'!C19)
It would be nice if the fill color came along with the value.
