Accumulating Set Of IF Results In One Cell?
Apr 22, 2014I attached my example with this message, I want the cell Z6 for instance to make the sum of the "X" of the same record based on their "weight" in the gray ribbon respectively.

View 3 RepliesI have 2 problems relating to LOOKUP.
Not sure if Excel can perform these calculations as they could get to complex.
Problem 1
Can it be possible to have excel look at data from one cell reference another cell then display the results from the cell next to it in another cell, sort of example:
Tab 1 (Never changes)
AB
Bob1
Jon2
Fred3
Tab 2 (Dynamic, changes each week)
AB
Jon
Fred
Bob
So it would work as follows.
Tab2 column B will take Tab2 column A’s data check Tab1 column A and display Tab1 column B’s result.
Problem 2
Weekly league rank table that shows position movements week by week
Example.
Week1
1Jon
2Bob
3Fred
Week2
1FredUp 2
2BobNot Moved
3JonDown 2
Can Excel calculate/show the actual movements of league positions?
I am trying to create formula that will show overtime worked in a given day. The code I am using is a simple one ([ cell - 8], for hours worked). The problem is when the time cells are blank/not used it shows a -8 in the cell. what I need to do to create a code that will eliminate the -8 from showing. The cell its self is taking the result from another cell with a formula and then subtracting 8 from the result of the formula in the other cell.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to enter the data into the grey cells and then have the yellow cells auto generate a result. The only problem is that the required value in cell B5 is from when the entered value in B4 is looked up in the table, rounded UP to the next highest value and then the answer from the next cell.
So, if I enter in B4 a value of 500, a lookup is made in the table and the next highest value would be 553 with the correct answer shown in B5 being 13.
I am pulling what hair i have left out of my head, I am a New Desk Officer for a Local Police Dept trying to set up a patrol report sheet, I need to have a return of "Mids", "Days", "Swings" to be displayed in the cell next to the one labeled "Shift" depending on the time of day. IE: 12am-8am = "MIDS", 8am-4pm = "DAYS" 4pm-12pm = "MIDS".

how to take the result of a formula calculated in one cell and show the results in an other cell
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust yesterday when I opened my excel file, all the cells that contains formulas does not display the results (leaving the cell blank).
For example the formula for cell A1 is =B5. But after putting a value in cell B5, cell A1 is still blank.
Is it possible to combine the results from 1 Text Box and 2 Combo Boxes to return to 1 Cell?
For example, i am using this code to write username to Sheet 2
Sheet2.[c9].Value = txtFullName.Value
and this code to write account number to Sheet 2
Sheet2.[d8].Value = txtAccountNumber.Value
BUT - i would really like to take the Value from txtFullName and take the Vaule from txtAccountNumber and combine that into (1 cell only) with space separators please.
Example : (username & account number combined)
Slim 12345678
I have a list of data entries. I use auto-filter, to view them according to which category they belongs to. However, when I wanted to sum just the quantity associated with the criteria which I am filtering, I couldnt find a formula which does that
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs I type in text into Excel often I see number signs instead of the text. Baffling - I have tried switching the format to wrap etc - nothing works.
Can anyone help - See attached file. The short solution is to retype the text - but this occurs alot and I am not sure why. Really appreciate your help.
I'm currently using this formula:
=INDEX(B4:B64,MATCH(I5,A4:A64,0))
If I5's value is displayed more than 1 time in Column A, I want the information in Column B to appear in the same cell the formula is in in Column J
How to do this query but show all results found rather than just one result.
I want the result to be able to show multiple terms from the search terms and index.
for example
Bob's BMW and Ford
Result would be
BMW,Ford
Rather than just Ford
Is this possible?
Is it possible to combine search results into a single cell?
On my spreadsheet I'd like to select from 4 columns and combine the result into 1 cell. I'd like to search on equipment number in column K that meets a condithion in column H, if this is a match I'd like to show the result date in column P and the duration in column R. Columns P & R shown in 1 cell...
Sort of like this... if "K" = "CV537" and "H" = "0" then show the resulting date from "N" and duration from "R" in one cell somewhere.
Possible?
I have a cell which I want to colour green if C6>9, yellow if O6>60 and red if BOTH C6 and O6 are above their respective numbers. The first two parts of this are obviously straight forward, but I cant work out how to get the third part of it to work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using excel as a scheduling program. The sheet has days of the month across the top, and staff names down the column. We have 5 shifts D,A,B,C,N. I am using the following formula to display if shifts have been scheduled for the column
if(countifB10:N23,"N")=1,"X","N") i.e for the night shift. I then use conditional formatting to change the cell to green if the night shift has been scheduled, or red if it has not.
I would like to have the results of all 5 formulas display in a single cell, to save Real Estate, then have the cell go green when all shifts have been scheduled for the day (column).
Is this even possible?
I am trying to find a way in which a used can enter text into a cell (effectively the search cell) and then that text is compared to text in 3 or so columns, if the text matchs any part of the cells in the those columns then the spreadsheet should filter out the rows that dont have a match and only leave rows that have a match.
Its like having a spreadsheet with a list of part an user can put in 55 or bolt in the cell at the top and the list would only then show all the rows that have 55 or bolt or whatever text in the table below?
Depending upon a figure entered e.g. = $ 895.00 and also Depending upon a state being entered e.g. = NSW. Then Excel will lookup a series of cells to produce the correct figure depending upon the correct data ciritera being met. I have a data table sitting behind the spreadsheet with all relevant values.

I am looking at developing a table that has three possible options for different categories, being Yes, No and N/A. A yes score a certain percentage depending on what column it is, and the use of N/A changes the percentage of other scores. (i.e. A yes in column 5.1 = a score of 5, a yes in 5.2 = 5, a yes in 5.3 = 10 and a yes in 5.4 = 15. However if 5.4 is N/A then this amount is diveded amongst the remaining 3, i.e. 5.1 = 10, etc.)
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy task is that I have several documents exported in excel. The requirements in them were mapped to another document. The IDs were populated in a certain column but are now no longer needed. I have to convert those old Ids to the current ones. In my example I have populated Sheet one with the lookup table. In column A are the old IDs. In Column B are the new ones they map to. The old ones can map to several which is why there are more than one ID in some of the cells. In column D of Sheet 2 I have populated it with the old Ids. In Column A I'd like to have the lookup return the appropriate maps to the new Ids. For example for the first map in cell A2 it should return:
abc_18
abc_43
abc_6
abc_4
all in one cell.
Vlookup can return the first hit (abc_18 and abc_43 for cell D2), but ignores the other two IDs in cell D2. I was able to work around this combining the find, mid, and vlookup to return all values. The problem with that is that the formula gets monstrously big after just having it return 4. In the actual files it can be up to 30 IDs which would make that formula literally pages long since. I have pretty much no experience with macros, but it seems like the only solution since I have to send this off to various people so they can use it.
What I need is a script or formula with returns multiple results and puts them into one cell.
The Excel is used as a Project Managment Work Sheet for Resources, working on different Projects and their dedicated hours
The raw data table looks like this:
Column A: Project Name (=AllProjectsLists)
Column E: Resource Name (=MasterDataResources)
Column P: values from 0 to 8 (hours)
First I need to check per row the Resource Name. If the Resource Name is a match, than I need to check if in column P the value is bigger than 0. The result goes into a different sheet per row, one result per Resource, but the multiple results should be shown in one cell.
So the result should be something like:
Resource name "Thomas" .... Projects working on: "Project 1, Project 5, Project 13, ..." (in one cell)
Resource name "Mary" .... Projects working on: "Project 3, Project 9, Project 13, ..." (in one cell)
I tried with this one, but it only returns one vale per cell:
=SMALL(IF(E$9=MasterDataResources; ROW(MasterDataResources)-ROW($A$2)+1), ROW(1:1))
=INDEX(AllProjectsLists; SMALL(IF(E$9=MasterDataResources; ROW(MasterDataResources)-ROW($A$2)+1); ROW(1:1)))
I have a document with a huge number of chained-together precedent cells, each changing vastly when a single input cell's value is changed (my x-value).
I need to look at the bottom line (my y-value) which is the result of a number of calculations based on the aforementioned cells, there is no linear relationship as there are a number of thresholds and roundups.
I have done this in mat-lab, however my company doesn't have that luxury and all the information is created by a standard estimating sheet that cannot change format.
How could I go about doing this? I've had a look through pettier however I can't see anything that doesn't either require a named cell with a huge formula in it or a table (which isn't practical in this instance - I need to chart the bottom line for 100 different values).
Is it posible to do 3 seperate calculations in a single cell and desplay those results? For example in a single cell: A1+A2 | A3+A4 | A5+A6|
Where:
A1 = 1
A2 = 2
A3 = 3
A4 = 4
A5 = 5
A6 = 6
Results Display: 3,7,11.
I keep record of my blood sugar in excel 2003 that I send to my doctor weekly.
What I would like to do is, instead of typing the readings and mmol/L at the end in every cell, is to just type in the reading (example 5.5) then tab of the cell and have excel populate the cell with mmol/L automatically after the reading.
Can it be done?
I have this macro and at the present time, can only compare two worksheets. One of my worksheets contains column headers with data, the other worksheet just contains column headers. The macro will match the data against the column header and paste below. I'm doing it this way because I have several tables I export from a MySQL database, but some of them have more fields than others so I was trying to get all of the data to line up in under the correct column header from each table. I need editing the macro to allow for
1) More than one worksheet to be analyzed at a time
2) If the first request is not possible, I would like for the macro to paste results at the next empty cell. As of now, it will only copy one at a time (which requires me to house the data in another worksheet everytime I run the macro).
Below is the code:
Dim ws1 As Worksheet, ws2 As Worksheet
Dim HeaderCells As Range, Hdr As Range, hdrFIND As Range
Application.ScreenUpdating = False 'speed things up
Set ws1 = ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("HEADERS") 'Define name of worksheets
Set ws2 = ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("B")

In the attached test.xls file, I have two sheets created. The first is "Responsibility," and the second is "List." The data in "List" is what I am trying to pull from. As you can see, the people's names are listed more than once as the list goes down. On the "Responsibility" page I have each person's name one time. In the "Extinguisher" column, I'm wanting it to list every number that is found next to the person's name on the "List" sheet. For example:
Column B2 on the "Responsibility" sheet should read as follows:
1,2,3,17,24
Here is the formula I have in these cells:
=VLOOKUP($A2,List!$A$3:$C$38,3,TRUE)
