I would like Tab 2 ='COVER PAGE'!A1
Tab 3 ='COVER PAGE'!B1
Tab 4 ='COVER PAGE'!C1
etc...
Is this possible so that I can add cells (between B1 and C1) at a later date and have all the tab names change depending on the values I put in the cells?

Apr 3, 2014I have one sheet in my workbook called 'mapping' which has a list of codes on it, the length of which will vary on a periodic basis.
I have another fairly large sheet on the workbook called 'data' (around 2000 rows) that will also vary in size. I want to do a search on the data tab for each code that is contained on column 4 of the mapping tab and if the code is found, enters the corresponding value from column 1 of the mapping tab to the cell 6 columns to the left of where the code was found on the data tab (cols H and B in this case).
The issue I have is the codes maybe contained more than once on the data tab so I need the find/replace command to search the whole of the data tab and perform the task each time.

Jul 8, 2013I have been asked by my supervisor to make a performance review template a little bit more user friendly.
Basically what I have is a drop own list in cells in one column (various cells with the same drop down menu) that you select from either 0-10 in a drop down box.
I have another cell which I want to have a drop down box with text comments that you select from when. Only problem is the comments different dependent on the ranking score you give a person (the number selection in the previously mentioned cell from 0-10). So if you have a score between 9-10 in the cell then the comments box will give you certain comments to choose, 7-8 different comments and so on and so forth.

this will do a countif in column A if column B matches the value in column D, but would not weed out duplicates for me.

Conditionally Format Entire Row Based On Adjacent Cell Values
May 24, 2013I have a large workbook with 2 rows of data I want to format (R25:R530, M25:M530). Row M is already populated, row R is new data that I am entering. When the value of a cell in row R is larger than its adjacent cell (R25:M25) in row M, I would like the font to turn red. When the value is smaller, I would like the font to turn green.
With the amount of time I've spent attempting to conditionally format, I could have gone through and formatted each cell individually by now!
Find Unique Values, Transfer Adjacent Cell To Another Workbook
May 22, 2007I have a main workbook that is meant to summarize data from other workbooks
In Row 6 from column H on I have workbook names in each cell
Column G in all workbooks (including the main one) contains our branch #'s for our offices
For each workbook listed in row 6 , I need to open that workbook (I have that setup with the code below---notice there is an AX.xls that is appended to the file names listed in row 6 in order for the names to match what is in the windows directory)
In the newly opened workbook, I need to, for each value in column G, copy the value from adjacent cell in column H (the dollar value) then search column G of the main workbook for a matching branch and paste the value to the appropriate row under the workbook name column (remember workbook names are in row 6)
The trouble is, for each branch in column G in the newly opened workbook that cannot be found in the main workbook, I need to paste the new branch # at the bottom row of/in column G and the $ value (H column value from the newly opened workbook) to the corresponding row under the workbook name column

Can Automatically Create Named Ranges Based On Adjacent Cell Values?
Jul 11, 2013Macro that could look at a row and take the values of two cells, combine them and then create a range name for a third cell in the row.
For example; for row 5420, in column C there is the word Florida, in column D there is the number 6235, and in column F there is a sentence or two. Is there a way to automatically create a named range for the cell of column F that would be named FLORIDA6235? And if so, can the macro do this for every row even if the word and/or the number changes.
I have roughly 28,000 rows and nine columns that I am working with. That's why I was wondering if there was a way to automate this. There are 10 states and I don't know how many different numbers attached to the states, however there are many state and number combinations that repeat, so there would be several rows with Florida in column C, 6235 in column D but a different description in column F.
Adding Up Cell Position Not Values In Cell
Mar 30, 2009I have a spreadsheet with two columns and 39900 rows, from that data I want to create two new columns so cell C1 = A143 and D1 = B143, C2=A286, D1=B286, and so on. The row location increases by 143.
The simplest thing I tried to do was to say C1=A1+142, but (knowing it is wrong) I get a #value error.
How can I tell excel to grab these values located every 144 rows below and create two new columns?
Find All Row Values Selected In Multi Column ListBox & Fill Adjacent Cell
Apr 27, 2009I have a listbox that has row and columns. The rows are combinations of options and the columns are Additives.
After selecting a row in Listbox1, (first column are names) i would like the value of the second column to goto a specific area.... find that value and in the cell to the right of it place a "Y". The "Y" would indicate that "yes" it was part of the selection row of the listbox. Same for third column, forth, fifth and sixth. The result from the listbox is a number of Y's and N's in the result page. Then making all that were not part of selected line and equal to "N" to hide row (height = to zero).
Listbox and expected result are in attached example worksheet.
The attached does show the need much better then I can explain it.
Adding Selected Cell Values From A List
Feb 3, 2014Below is a list of sku's where column C contains values that represent quantities of items received. Now, column D contains 4 different categories of items, BK, BL, CBL and PP, so what I need to do, is add the numbers shown in column C, for each category separately. That is, all values from column C having a "PP" value on column D, should be added separately, and so on with the other categories from column D. The resulting values will be used to create pie charts, but that part I have resolved.
What I'm doing to achieve this, is selecting column D, then, conditional formatting→highlight cell rules→equals to, then typing each category so I can highlight the corresponding cells. Then, adding Filter to column C, then sorting by color, then, selecting the corresponding cells from column C to add their values. The process works, but takes too long, especially when considering my lists usually have a few hundreds of sku's each. The below list is just a shortened version of one of them.

What I am trying to do is cause (where the formula is) to:
If A2 is empty, put nothing,
If C2 is greater than today put nothing, otherwise put C2
If E2 is empty then if b2 is "1st" add 4 workdays to A2, otherwise add 5 workdays.
I seem to have a problem with getting the formula to put the value of C2 if it is not greater than today In otherwords if the date in C2 is 6th Jan, i want 6th Jan as the result of the formula.

Each list has three columns giving name, address and postal code. There are numerous repeats on these lists and I wanted to hide any duplicates while keeping my cells aligned. So far I have been able to highlight any duplicates, but was interested in some function that would save at least one duplicate while hiding any additional ones.

Jun 27, 2014 write a script to match a cell value then copy and paste the matching row across two worksheets - "Master List" and "Demographics".
These two worksheets have the same cell values in Column A, the key difference is the Column A cell order in the second worksheet "Demographics". This Column A cell order is set arbitrarily by another system and will vary over time.
I would like to match the rows, then paste the three columns from the second worksheet into the first worksheet.
For example:
"Demographics" Worksheet Cell A2 = "Master List" Worksheet A45 - then copy cells A2, B2 and C2 and paste into A45, B45, C45 respectively.
"Demographics" Worksheet Cell A49 = "Master List" Worksheet A12 - then copy cells A49, B49 and C49 and paste into A12, B12, C12 respectively.
