Changing Column Location In Formula Using Cells?

I currently have a spreadsheet that refers to a different spreadsheet, with different expenses each month, with the months going across from A,B,C,D etc.

Because the formulae on the expenses sheet refers to cells such as O13 O15 O27 etc, at the start of the next month the 'O' has to be changed to a 'P' to give P13 P15 P27

This doesnt sound much but there are over 10 different spreadsheets that are all currently changed manually. Is it possible to have a function referring to a cell containing 'O' which when changed to 'P' changes all the formulae to refer to the cell next to the original.

EG Instead of O13 it would be [variable]13

Essentially this will mean that a master sheet will be able to change all the excel spreadsheets in one go.

This time, however, instead of having a slight idea of what I need to do, I don't have the slightest of where to start. I need to move all of these charts into another sheet, sheet1, and i'd like to offset them or do something so that they aren't all right on top of each other. I'd be more specific but I don't really know exactly what you can or can't do.

Changing Default Formula In Column?

I have a data table with multiple columns. Several columns have absolute formulas repeating in each of the rows. I would like these formulas to be the default ones in each of the columns whenever I insert a new row.

Unfortunately, whenever I insert a new row Excel automatically inserts different formulas, which do not appear anywhere in the table. These formulas used to be in the table, and at the time Excel asked me if I wanted them to be the default formulas for those columns - which I happily confirmed. As stated, I now have new formulas which I want to be the default ones, but I can't figure out how to set them as such. I even tried to turn off the auto-extend feature, and then back on, to no avail.

Formula In Cells With Changing References

I am running a research experiment in triplicate. Upon generation of data for all three, I create an averaged value of the three. I then take this value and do more calculations with it on a separate sheet. I wanted to know if there was a way in which I could quickly generate formulas based on a changing reference cell.

Example Data:

V1A 28
V2A 26
v3A 30
AvA 28

V1B 20
V2B 22
V3B 18
AvB 20

Vxy represents the value of y sample, x triplicate. V1A being sample A, first triplicate. AvX is the average of the three values.

I want to be able to generate a formula that references AvA which can be applied to the cell immediately below to reference AvB. A simple example would be to square the average.

Refresh All Cells In Column After Changing Formatting?

I've been given some data and the date column is formatted as 'general'. If I amend it to the date format I prefer and click ok nothing changes. If I then click in the cell and press enter it changes the format to what I want. Is there anyway of refreshing all the cells so the format change takes effect?

I can achieve what i'm after by using find and replace to change '2012' to '2012' and '2013' to '2013' but i'd be interested to know whether there is a more recognised solution?

Changing Text In One Cell Creates Formula Change In Column Below?

I have a list of pricing and I want to be able to change the text of cell, say "D1", which says "Standard" to say "Premium" and all the formulas would change in accordance. The "Standard" pricing would be, Starting D2, "=C2*.3" and I want them all to go to "Premium" pricing which would be formula "=C2*.35".

A 'Days Attended' cell (N8) and a 'Days Absent' cell (O8). N8 needs to count the number of "Present" values there are on another worksheet. The other worksheet has dates across the top and names down the side.

When i use
=COUNTIF("Attendance!C9:Z9", "Present"),
and the next date comes along the formula changes to
=COUNTIF("Attendance!D9:AA9", "Present")

ie. the reference moves a column across - the new date's absent or present is not counted. Using =COUNTIF(INDIRECT("Attendance!C9:Z9"), "Present"). is no good because when i add a new name i need the row reference to move down as a row is inserted. ie. both person's formulas count the same row. So, my question: I need the columns to stay the same - C:Z (leyway for future dates) and the rows to change as i insert or delete people from the system.

I am trying to write a formula where the column header of the row in which a value other than 0 exists, will display for each instance (row) where a value exists in an array spanning 3 columns. So the result cell could be any of the three column headers, or a combination thereof.

I started the formula in P2 of the GL Detail-2012 tab. File attached.

In the same thread, the Editor offers a refinement needed for my solution, but is beyond my skill level to implement: Any solution to avoid #N/A errors for the ranges where there are no negative values? if this is possible, but is there anyway to reference a file location in a formula using another cell?

EG:

Cell A2 (Text) = C:Folder1Folder2Folder3Sheet v1.2.xls
Cell B2 = =A2'tab1'!$A$1

So, in cell B2 it will use the file location in cell A2.

I need this because the values will be updated in Sheet v1.2 and version controlled (so if it changes to 1.3 all you have to do is change cell A2).

I'm trying to find a way to test is the max value in a range, columns A-F, comes after the min.

Example: Columns A-F have the values 4,1,3,5,2 respectively. I'd like a test to see if the min, in this case Column B, comes before the max, column D, and have an output that says yes or no. So in this example yes but if the numbers were instead 4,5,1,2,3 it would return a no.

I have a formula in Cell A1. It tells me the cell location of the last number in column E. So, for example, I input the number 44 in cell e85, the value for cell A1 becomes $E$85.

i am looking to create a small table from the attached worksheet that will show how many users there are for 3 different locations, the user names are in column a and the locations in column c. the thing is, the actual worksheet i am using in work contains almost 1000 lines, and is being updated daily, there can be multiple entries for a person for projects etc.. and someone can even be in the availability and pto area's without being in the main project area. each resource can only be on one location so that will not change.

I am looking for a way to show the character location number of a text file, possibly in the first row or a macro that I can run at any given location that will give me the location # I am currently viewing.

I have data in E6-E67 on Sheet 1. Based on the date in A2 on that sheet, I need to paste to a column in Sheet 2. In excel, I am able to get the cell location through vlookup and get the correct column number/cell reference. When it gets to the paste location, I am stumped on how to format that line of code? I am trying to come up with the most efficient way to copy data to multiple sheets within the same Excel workbook. The original data exists within one column on a summary sheet (could have up to 500 individual entries). I want to copy each individual entry to a unique sheet (that already exists), but in the exact same cell location within each sheet. I would only want to copy the original data value and not any formatting. Is there an efficient way to do this?

In my example spreadsheet, the original data is on the SUMMARY sheet. Sheets A through J would be the target sheets, with cell B2 as the target location for each of those sheets. My example shows the result of a manual copy paste value process, but I am hoping to automate that.

I have been given a spreadsheet with standard configuration with column headers etc, but when you scroll down the sheet the actual column headers change from the normal A-Z display to be the column headers that have been entered into the cells.

I know this can be achieved similarly by setting Freeze Pane but how this other option has been switched on. I have attached the spreadsheet (which has totally fictitious content).
