Hi guys/gurls.. is there a way i can get the following check against range for orders which give result as invoiced(if within the range), duplicated(if 2 or more than 2 are on the orders list) & missing (which on not in the orders when checked against the range).

RANK Duplicate Numbers Without Missing In Sequence?

Attempting to do a spreadsheet for my golf club, to record scores, etc...

Managed to get it to pretty much what I want despite some very extreme looking formulae! So for some scores such as 56,56,57,57,54,54, Rank would just give me 3,3,5,5,1,1, so I have put a second column next to 56,56,57,57,54,54 where I input scores to seperate ties (better back nine scores), so in the above I would have for example 30,29 next to the two 56s, 27,29 next to the two 57s, and 27,28 next to the two 54s, so the rank would return 4,3,5,6,1,2. I have gone three stages further, so if, the back nine score was also tied, I have a column for the last 6 hole score, the last 3 hole score and even the last hole score. This is some serious formulae at this point. However, I now want the OPTION to rank the original data as 2,2,3,3,1,1 if I don't put any data in the back nine column.

This is so that I can input doubles scores on the same spreadsheet as singles scores, so if two people shoot the same score in singles I can input the back 9 scores etc to decide who comes out ahead, but in doubles I would just leave the back nine score blank, and then two people would share 1st in the rank, but then I need two 2nd ranks NOT 3rd ranks as it currently is.

Just so you can see how complex it is the current forumlae in the rank is here is an example:

Check A Userform For Missing Data

I have created a user form for some data submission. I am looking for a macro to check the text boxes, that I have named appropriately i.e. Name, Address, City, State etc. , to make sure there is something entered.

If nothing is entered it needs to return a msgbox that says what field is blank.

The code works perfectly for that one line but I need it to repeat independantly in the same columns but for rows 11 up to and including 23.

If I need to make the message generic like " Please Enter Order Number" then that's fine.

Check Date & Time For Missing Hours

I have a column A with some dates at this format "dd-mm-yyyy hh-mm".
In this list, some hours are missing, and I don't know which ones.

In order to find the missing hours, I created an additional column B, displaying all the hours, this way:
B1=01-01-2006 00:00:00
o
B1=A1

And then : B2=B1+"01:00:00"

Then, in column C, I compare both columns A and B:
C1=IF(Value(B1)=Value(B2),ok,missing)

As a result, I first get some "ok", and then more and more "missing" statements, even though the dates look the same.

I checked the numerical values of my dates. At the first "missing" statement, I saw that there is a slight difference in the numerical values, at small decimals...

Can you tell me how to define my date /time in a good way, in order to avoid this kind of problems, please?
(I could take the int part of the numbers, but this could lead to further errors, so I prefer to define my dates in the right way, from the beginning).

How To Check Duplicate Contacts

I have a workbook with a list of new contacts in one sheet, and a list of old contacts on another sheet.

I want to run a duplicate check throughout the workbook to highlight and delete any contacts on my new list, that have already been contacted on my old list.

Also, I need the the duplicate checker to check for non specific names, regardless of punctuation, upper/lower case, etc.

I need to to highlight all of the following variations as possible duplicates which i can then review & delete manually;

Apple Corp,
Apple Ltd
APPLE LTD
Apple.com
etc...

What I can use to do this?

Duplicate Check On Export Of Records

I have a spreadsheet that will export records when I "click" a button, to a spreadsheet on a network drive.

I would like to attach some code that will check to see if a duplicate record is going to be written to the network drive, and if so, alert the user that they are about to create a duplicate . If it is a duplicate, give the user the option to overwrite the existing record.

Ex. I export the results for account 12345.....Account 12345 is now written to an outside sheet.

User2 logs in and works with customer 12345, w/out knowing that someone has already worked with this account, presses the export button.....This is the trigger point for what I want to happen. At this point when it locates a dupe in the outside spreadsheet it will prompt the user too make some chouces .

I have written some code which asks the using for a name, selcet's a sheet, copy's the sheet, rename's the copied sheet then hide's the original sheet and makes the copied sheet with new name active.

I've been assigned to develop a workbook that autopopulates a different workbook but they wanted it so the second macro is never messed with and the information is only entered once. Here is the macro i developed

Now The area in red is where the macro writes into the form. My thing is that I want to set up a check so there isn't duplicated entries. This is how the check would work. First it would match up any excisiting entries with JobNo and then check to see if the JobDate was the same. If both are the same then it would check Waste or CutTime, either one would work. If they didn't match, then those cells would be overwritten. If nothing matched then it would put in the new entry.

I have a command button that copies a template worksheet and names it with a date that the user chooses. Problem is, the user can choose the same date more than once. So, I need to have the command button check for all the sheet names, and if it finds a duplicate, prompt the user to enter some text to concatenate to the original sheet name, therefore making it's name unique. I have a userform that I use for data entry with lots of combo boxes, list boxes and text boxes

One thing i haven't cracked yet is to check for duplicates against two matching fields

If a user (for example) enters 'SAB' (which will be stored in column A) and then 'UK' (which will be stored in column B) and there is already an exact match for both, then I need to inform the user that a matching record already exists

The following is OK: (the dots below are meant to illustrate spaces between the columns!!)

BUT, if a user then tries to enter:

Automatically Check Each Worksheet For Duplicate Entry

I have multiple worksheets of computer equipment, each worksheet is a group/department. Column H is the serial number column and the entries have to be unique. I have managed to create the code below which does find duplicates across worksheets.

When error message pops up about which sheet the duplicate already exists on, the duplicate entry is deleted and the cell is blank but the error checks again and reports the blank existing on another worksheet and then it is stuck in a loop. How can I ignore the blank or null.

Excel - Check For Duplicate Data When Populating A Cell?

I have a big database of customers, each one has a unique reference number. They are spread accross a bunch of different tabs (21 in total to be exact)

One issue I have had is staff entering a customer whos already in the database, causing a duplicate entry. I dont need excel to tell us where the entry is, just to give some kind of indicator it already exists. I thought I may be able to use data validation/conditionality to turn the cell fill Red when it already exists in the data base.

The reason I think that method would be best, is that the sheets that data is entered on are seperate that the master sheet then pulls the data through from. Its the master sheet that would need to indicate a duplicate has been entered, as thats the only sheet where the entire database can be viewed.

We recently bought some new software at work, and I'm having trouble formatting the exported data in a way that will work with existing reports. The attached file is what the data looks like after being exported. Basically, what I'm trying to do is insert rows for the missing numbers -- i.e., each name should be followed by rows numbered 1 through 10.

My ultimate end goal is to have columns of data for each name, instead of rows:

I've created a formula that can do that part, but it operates on the assumption that each name will be followed by a set number of rows.

What little I know about vba I've learned on my own, so I may just be missing something obvious.

Is there a way to delete any rows that don't have a second occurrence of any cell in column a? I have unique numbers ONLY in column A. I want to tell Excel to.

a) Look at all the cells in column A ONLY (about 6,000 of them).
b) Look for any cells column a that have a duplicate entry in another cell.
c) Delete all rows that don't have a duplicate cell in column a.

This would be the entire row that I would like deleted. So every row should now only have the header info followed by 2 identical cells in column A. NOTE THAT THE OTHER COLUMNS WILL HAVE DIFFERENT INFO IN THEM, WHICH I WANT TO KEEP. I ONLY WANT THE CELL IN COLUMN A TO MATCH.....

Alert Me Upon Entering Duplicate Number

Is there a way to have Excel alert me (via cell color change preferably, but another method would be fine also) upon entering a number that has already been entered on that worksheet?

The problem I have:

I have 10 columns in a worksheet that I keep track of serial numbers in for work... Sometimes someone enters the wrong serial number or doesn't update a serial number so we will have the same serial number in two different places and another agency will call us to correct our mistake, making us look inept.

I figure the best way to alert people of this input error would be to change the fill color of both, or the active, cell(s) so they could immediately begin looking into the problem.
