I need to create a formula (not a VBA code as it is a shared spreadsheet) to bring up the next number in a sequence. For example

The outcome would be 3 as it is the first number that has not been used.
I would like to find the blanks within a column. Using the available cell values above and below compute a sort of linear function then, using that linear function fill in the blanks in between. So the values are linearly increasing or decreasing (whatever the case maybe) to the next available nonblank cell value. spreadsheet attached.

EXAMPLE:

So I would only need to print the number 3 and 6. - it can be all in one cell, or in one column, it doesnt matter.
I have a userform which saves its info to a spreadsheet. what i want to do is to also open a new workbook, save the same info to the new workbook, copy and paste from existing spreadsheet will do instead of linking the userform to a different workbook (i can do all this) I then want to save the workbook in a specific folder(folderA) but named by the next number ie workbooks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 etc exist so the next workbook should be called 9 so I need some code to look for the names of existing workbooks in the folder and determine the next. Then I want a spreadsheet to at a pre-set interval(15 minutes) open each workbook , copy the line to the next blank row and move the workbook to a second folder(folderB). The folders A & B will only contain these workbooks.

I would like a flexible Formula to Return the Column Number of individual
Numeric Labels and their Numeric Value. I have a 2-Row by many Columns
chart/ grid layout. My 1st Column, Column Number "1" is Excel Column Letter
"F".
Numeric Label 17 is housed in Column Number "12" per my chart , its Numeric
Value 5 is housed on the next Row - directly below the Numeric Label.
Sample Data: ...
Scenario:
To Return the correct Column Number: locate the Numeric Label 17 and its
Numeric Value on the Row below, Numeric Value is 5. The Numeric Value is to
be increased by a Value of 1 (one) - NEW Numeric Value = 6. The Column
Number Returned should reflect Numeric Label of 17 remains the same but the
Numeric Value is increased by one.
To Return a Column Number representing the Numeric Label 17 and its original
Numeric Value +1 (plus one): the Numeric Label is still 17 but the Numeric
Value is NOW 6. From the oringal Column Number that housed Numeric Label 17,
that is Column Number "12", SEARCH in Ascending order: moving LEFT from
Column Number "12" and using the Numeric Value as the 1st (first) search
order and the Numeric Label as the 2nd (second) Ascending search order.
SEARCH the Numeric Value Row until the first Numeric Value either equal to 6
or more than 6 is found. Then Return the Column Number of the Column to the
Right of that Numeric Value.
Required Result:
Return the Column Number based on the Numeric Label 17 and the NEW Numeric
Value of 6, search in Ascending order - First search order based on Numeric
Value 6 - Second search order based on Numeric Label 17.
Returned Result should be Column Number 10.
Using a Dynamic Named Range "Data", I would like a Formula to return the Row
Number of the "LAST" instance of a duplicate numeric value - repeating twice
consecutively in the same column.
i have a time series of data at one hour interval ( from 6:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs ) each day and again from 6:00 to 18:00 hrs next day and so on for several years. in this series many data are missing. i ve to fill in these missing data in such a manner so that the new values becomes the linearly interpolated values in between the data given at any two hours. no rows are allowed to be inserted in between 18:00 hrs of the previous day to 6:00 hrs on the next day. pl see the attatchment.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am currently using MS Excel 2007. Is there a way in VBA to automatically insert missing columns based on a defined series or range of values?
For example, we have a report that displays columns of: Year 2004 to Year 2012 per column (9 columns in total).
Sometimes, it displays missing a year or years (thus; our report has less columns). For example, it only shows 2008 to 2012 (missing 2004 to 2007). At times, it misses some years in between. What we do is manually add those missing years by manually inserting columns then inputting the missing year as their column headers.
Is it posisble for VBA to check if the columns contain all of the defined Year range (for example, you've initially defined: Year 2004 to Year 2012)? Afterwards, all missing columns are automoatically inserted (in chronological order or based on your defined values or range).
In a column, I have a repeating series of 24 different strings corresponding to the hours in a day. The strings are formatted as: 0, 10000, 20000, ... , 24000. Some days do not contain a complete series. What I would like to do is to complete each partial series by inserting a row with the proper hour string and zero's in adjacent cells.

These unique identifiers won't always appear in sequentiual order. In Cells B2 to M2, I want to be able to determine what the next entry for each of the twelve variations will be, so for example, if the current highest value in column A for the 'S1314LAND' range S131400421, in cell K2, I would want it to display S1314LAND00422, and if the current highest value in column A for the 'M1314CUST' range M1314CUST0036, I would want cell C2 to display M1314CUST0037, so anyone at a glance can see the next highest unique reference for the relevant set, rather than having to go through the unique identifiers in column A manually to determine the next entry in the series.
I'm not really sure where to start, when there can be more than one aplhanumeric entries ending in the same number, e.g. S1314CUST00500 and M1314LAND00500.
I have been trying to create a userform that will generate a numerical list starting in a given cell using a starting number, an ending number, and an increment that the user will imput into a textbox. I have a userform set up, but I do not know how to do any coding. I have very little experience with excel.

Because of the limit of 255 series I have allowed a maximum of 250 simulations (they all need to be plotted). But the length of each simulation is free. I know there is a limit of 32.000 data points in a graph and I have this as a condition too.
If I set the data range to 100 columns and 3000 rows the graph is produced when I plot by columns. (code below)
But if I set the data range to 250 columns and 1000 rows I get the above mentioned error message. Even though I only have 250 series.

I have a list of numbers in sequential order. There are numbers missing. Is there a way to have Excel insert rows for the numbers that are missing in the series.

I have one Row that houses numbers 80-90 in seperate cells (11 columns A20:
K20) - these are my Numeric Labels.
I then have several other Rows that span the same number of columns as the
Numeric Labels (A21:K100) and house Numeric Values that relate to the Numeric
Labels.
I would like to AVERAGE the Numeric Values in each Row and have a Numeric
Label (value) that corresponds to the calculated average returned as the
result.
Example: Sample Data
A20:K20 (Numeric Label) 80 81 82 83 84 85 86 87 88 89 90
A21:K21 (Numeric Value) 07 06 05 03 09 09 00 02 04 12 10
Based on the above data - the Expected Result is 81
Average = 6; Return Numeric Label = 81
The leading zeros shown in A21:K21 is for alignment purposes only.
I would appreciate two formulas:
1) Includes zeros to be averaged
2) Excludes zeros from being averaged

I have a spreadsheet that has (amongst other things) 2 charts based on dynamic data with ranges that redraw using vb... The charts will draw envelopes that correspond to an aircraft's moment or c of g envelope - there will typically be 2 envelopes drawn, "normal" and "utility" or "aerobatic".
Plotted on the charts are an aircraft's takeoff and landing weights and moment/C of G.
I'd like to be able to use a formula or VB to determine which envelope takeoff/landing information falls in (or if it falls outside all envelopes). This data would then be used to generate an error message/possibly also in conditional formatting, etc.
A common task for me is having to manually update the series formulas on charts to conform to some predefined conditions as the data changes. To reduce the strain of this, I've developed a VBA module that will read the various series A1-style formulas of the chart and update them according the the specific conditions. This works wonders on most charts, but I've suddenly run into a situation where Series.Formula property returns ONLY the R1C1 style. We recently bought some new software at work, and I'm having trouble formatting the exported data in a way that will work with existing reports. The attached file is what the data looks like after being exported. Basically, what I'm trying to do is insert rows for the missing numbers -- i.e., each name should be followed by rows numbered 1 through 10.

I've created a formula that can do that part, but it operates on the assumption that each name will be followed by a set number of rows.
What little I know about vba I've learned on my own, so I may just be missing something obvious.

I need a formula in column d that will return all the missing values between for example b1 and c2 and b21 and c21. The catch is that the numbers in column b and c can be anywhere but row b will always have the starting number and next to that cell the ending number in column d.
a further condition is that it must only calculate the missing number if the value in column a=1. if it is blank than nothing must be calculated.
