Jan 9, 2007By adapting a worksheet macro obtained previously via Ozgrid, I built a workbook that dynamically produces a database, in a worksheet titled “NumLtrWBS DB”, based on all possible combinations of what is listed in column A of three 3 worksheets titled: “ Num”, “Ltr” and “WBS, respectively.
The macro, named “NumLtrWBS", works wonderfully, until I add a row at the top of each list to contain a column header. The unchanged macro includes the column headers in the “produced” database. When I change the macro by altering the variable definitions to begin at A2 rather than A1, it still includes the column headers in the “produced” database. How should I change the macro so it doesn’t “produce” the column headers in the database worksheet?
Prevent Empty Rows From Printing
Nov 10, 2005I have formulae in cells to reference another sheet, but if the referenced cell is blank, then the new cell I made blank (using the IF function). The problem is, when I want to print, Excel wants to print all of the cells with entries in them - even the ones with formulae in them that are blank.
Is there any way to prevent the empty cells from printing?

Mar 21, 2008I have a sheet that uses Blocks of cells eg: A1:X10,A12:X22 etc to hold data/text etc.
I am filling colums A to V with data and Ranking and summing them in W & X,
I don't need to show K, L M ...for example, until they are totally filled, so I hide them manually until needed.
Have a Macro to print "results" A1:X10,A12:X22 etc, and I set a "print area" or "print selected"...works fine to fit to 1x1 Page.
Problem: If I hide L, M, N etc, the macro runs fine but still uses the unhidden size of the selection to fit the page ie: I get A-B-C-D...-W-X as required, but the other half of the page is blank, because the size selected is for all including the hidden columns.
Q: How can I (Simply) print what's visable to 1x1 Page, fitting more in each time I unhide a column or two.?

It seems not enough as an acquaintance of a friend cracked it in 25 minutes. Or so he says. So I'd like to know if there is a better way to protect the font code.

Jun 7, 2006What I want to do is print a specific worksheet from a specific workbook based on data entered in text boxes. One text box would provide the workbook name and the other text box would provide the worksheet within the specified workbook. All the user would have to do is enter the workbook and worksheet names and then press a button to print. I currently have created a separate workbook with just a userform that contains a print button and two text boxes.

Nov 7, 2007I have a code that prepares my spreadsheet and then prints out around 6 different sheets when all is said and done. The prints are not together in the code. I was wondering if there is something that I can add at the beginning of the code to ask the user IF they want a Printout. If they answer Yes then they get printouts of the 6 or so sheets and if they answer No then the code will run but no printouts occur???
I have play3ed around a bit and implemented the following in one of my codes but this one only has 1 sheet that prints out.

Jun 27, 2006I have a worksheet that I use to track my clients and their meal selections over a five day week. Col A is their name, B is their shift (am or pm) C is their table number, D is whether they will attend that day (yes or no) and E is their meal choice (a b or c) Columns D & E repeat the same information for each day Mon-Fri.
I would like to have a print button so that on a daily basis I can print the clients name and thier meal selection (only those those who have a yes for that day) separating AM shift from PM and then grouping them by their table number rather than alphabetical order.
Prevent Access To The Code Of A Macro
Feb 9, 2009Is there a way to prevent access to the code of a macro? I am interested in sending out some macro's, but would prefer that the user only be able to run them, and not be able to access the code via the edit button. Curiously, there have been occasion's where I wanted to edit my own work, but the edit button did not function, so I had to exit and start over to proceed. From this I'm guessing there must be a way.

When the workbook is protected, the macro returns an error so I have unprotected the workbook but, if someone protects the workbook and saves it, it returns an error when closing and even if they choose cancel, it still screws up the macro and prevents it from working upon reopen.

Prevent Event Code Running
Oct 19, 2007I know how to enable/disable events using VBA code, however is there an option within excel to turn it on/off? My problem is this...
At the beginning of my code I disable events and at the end I enable it again (I need to do this to avoid being caught in a loop). However something is going wrong somewhere in my code and the code stops halfway through. I'm trying to test sections of the code, but I often inadvertently stop the code without enabling the events again. Therefore I can't get my VBA to execute again unless I close excel down and restart. This is a pain as I have to find my place in the code again!

Jan 19, 2013I have a workbook with various pages that are all hidden except the main page, on the main page it allows users to select items froms drop down boxes that returns a figure to cell B7 on the selection page.
What i would like to do is press a command button and the hidden worksheet that relates to that figure in cell B7 opens which allows the users to print it then after printing or closing the workbook is hidden again.

May 5, 2009I am trying to write VBA code that will print a print range that is presented in cell F3 on a "Reports" worksheet. The content of F3 will change depending on how many reports the user selects to print. For example, he could select one, two, three reports etc - up to twelve. The cell ranges of each report are named (e.g. Report1, Report2 etc) so that if the user selects to print Reports 1 and 2, the contents of cell F3 are "Report1,Report2". If I replace WhatToPrint with "Report1,Report2" the print macro works.

Sep 8, 2006I have to issue template workbooks to people for budgeting purposes.
Within the workbooks are various numbers of worksheets pre -formatted and ready for these people to enter data.
Some of the data in the worksheets is important to them as individuals but not to me so I have a series of macros that lift the information from the worksheets and put it into a worksheet more specific to me.
Because the users are on the whole not that good with Excel I have put in easy to use look up tables and various proctections to stop them adding or deleting rows or columns as this plays havoc with my macros.
There is one thing I have "so far" been unable to do and I wondered if anyone could help.
Is there a macro that I could put somewhere in the workbook which would detect when someone tried to cut and paste and would either put up a message box or stop them doing this?
The reason being they are cutting from one row to another and this is messing up the calculations which are protected.
Is there also a way to stop them changing the name on the sheet tab in the smae way?

Currently if someone tried to enter data after the allotted time period, it would allow them to in any "unlocked" cells. When exiting or trying to save the file with this new data, they will get a message stating something to the effect that this is a read only file would you like to save as another name, which would allow the user to circumvent what I'm trying to accomplish. The end result would be they'd need a new spreadsheet.

More specifically, I have a column of text in range B15:B64. Some of the cells will have a black font, others will be blue. Is it possible to lock the black font cells only, leaving the blue cells unlocked for users to change?
Prevent Event Code Running When Other Workbooks Open
Aug 23, 2008I am having difficulties with my Worksheet_Activate() macro. It works great within workbook1 when it is only workbook1 open - but when I open another workbook2, the macro stills runs, presumably because Sheet1 of workbook1 is still activated as well as the newly activated sheet in workbook2.
Is there a way to ensure that only 1 worksheet of 1 workbook is activated at a time? Or that sheet1 of workbook1 is deactivated when workbook2 is opened/clicked on? I need my Worksheet_Deactivate macro to run to get rid of my Worksheet_Activate macro (which runs an application that resets the function of keyboards keys). Otherwise moving around workbook2 is a nightmare. When I navigate back to workbook1 while workbook2 is still open, I still want sheet1 of workbook1 to be activated and my macro to run .

Rewrite Line Of Code To Prevent Changing Number Format
Aug 5, 2007The following block of code is evaluating the term in the array, if it exists and the value in col. M is a non integer, (which what I am testing for are fractions) then format the cell to a fraction number format.
That is ok, except it is changing the numberformat on text terms. I want it only to change the numberformat on numeric values.
I added the function Isnumeric to this line:

which I thought would only evaluate numeric cells only, but this was unsuccessful.
