I've got a Macro that generates three reports for me, one at a time.
After a report has been generated it creates an Email and attachs the report to the Email, I then check the report is ok before sending out.
The problem is, that once the first Email has been generated Excel is pushed into the background and the macro sloooooooows down.
I believe (though I will quite happily be wrong) this is because Excel is no longer the PC's main concern.
What I was wondering was, is it possible to bring Excel back to the foreground once the Email has been generated.
I have a userform, when using the form it has focus, once I click on my "Ok" command button I want to return focus to the workbook while I leave the userform open. I already have the userform open and on top of the workbook.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI call a userform (modeless), and then i'm trying to set the focus back on the range that was selected when i showed the userform. you would think i could just define the range and then use rnge.select like this....

but it doesn't take the focus off the userform....
I'm working on a spreadhseet which has several macros that can take up to 5 minutes to run. When the macro(s) complete, I pop up a userform to provide instructions and collect some additional data from the user.
The "problem" is that when the user moves to another application to do other work, the user form remains hidden behind the active app. I've added some text to the status bar to let the users know the processing is done, but they would like something more obvious - so, is there any way I can force focus back to Excel?
I have an application in excel in which a “combobox1” has been created on the main sheet of excel. Somewhere during the code execution the program requires input from the “combobox1”. What is the code required to highlight the “combobox1” allow the user to select from the box and then return control back to the regular code?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem when i need to save an excel workbook. I have 7 sheets, and in one of these (sheet3) i make 3 data validating list, based an if formula.
in cell C9 (sheet3) i make a data validation list where i tiped =IF($D$8="Turism",Norma_poluare,Norma_poluare2)
in cell C10 (sheet3) i make a data validation list where i tiped
=IF($D$8="Turism",Cilindree,$A$1)
in cell C11 (sheet3) i make a data validation list where i tiped
=IF($D$8="Turism",Emisii_CO2,$A$1)
The "Norma_poluare","Norma_poluare2" tabels are in sheet 4 and the "Cilindree","Emisii_CO2" tabels are in sheet 5.
When i need to save the excel document, i must have open sheet 3, othewise excel returns me an error "One or more cells in this workbook contains data validation rules which refer to values on other worksheets.These data validation will not be saved". So I thought that before saving date, automatically to shift focul to sheet3, and after these excel to save the data. VB code for these problem.
I've got a userform for entering data in a workbook with sheets for each month. ie: Jan'06 , Feb'06, etc. I've added a combobox that looks at my list of these sheets and when a certain month is chosen I would like that months sheet to come up behind the userform, so that the data is entered there when the form is completed.
The other option is to not change the sheet focus but to direct the data to the appropriate sheet based on the combo box. (No matter what sheet is currently selected)
On a related note, I have a text box showing the last date entered and I would like to make shure that it is updated based on the sheet selected in the combobox.
I have a spread sheet where i want to display help text when cells are activated. I do not want to use comments as i both do not like the red triangle and also have not found a way to controll the position of the text box. When I use the event Worksheet_SelectionChange I can display a custom box but the box "retains focus" and i can not enter the data until i "reclick" on the cell in the sheet. The box then goes away when i select another cell. Is there a way to fix this or a different method entirely. I am using Excel 2007.

I display a form which asks the user to insert the desired number of invoices. After inserting the number, I would like a the cursor to appear in a textbox labeled "Invoice Date" (ref A28). Additionally, I would like the user to only have to key in the day and month. Therefore, I would like to have the cell be defaulted to / /2004.
I'm listing through sheets and have Sheet2 for drop-down lists.
Sheet2 is not visible, but when I click on Cmdbutton It appears so that I can change values in drop-downs. When I hide Sheet2 again, I want to be back on sheet before Sheet2.

I am working within a workbook with many worksheets and I want the ability to go back to the previous sheet I was on (example - I am on sheet 23, go to sheet 16, I want to be able to have a button or link that takes me back to sheet 23)

I am trying to use the countif function to count the different sites in column B according to date. eg I want to be able to find out how many jobs for PHO1 were created between todays date and 7 days ago, this can go into column C, In column D I need to find out how many jobs were created by PHO1 between 7 and 14 days ago etc etc....

Thing is once I look at the WB_Output Sheet what I see is an error and the cell shows this: =Concatenate(10,E,12)
So logically the problem is that I need to make it show up as =Concatenate("10","E","12")
Btw, I can't just put v_1 & v_2 & v_3, cause Excel understands "E" as exponential!
I have a layout something like the following:

Where each (i.e., A1) represents a location. I have tried to use a coordinate system but this will not work for the back-to-back locations. (Assuming each location is 2 feet wide, For example A1 to C1 is 4 feet apart, not 2 feet (as Euclidean or rectilinear would calculate it as).
Would there be a way to incorporate an if statement for those locations that are back-to-back? As a rectilinear distance calculation would work as long as the locations are not part of the same "block".
Ultimately I am looking to have a matrix which contains all the distances between each location:
A1
A2
A3
B1

I have two questions.
1). I have dates listed in excel (01/01/2006 to 12/31/2006) say from range B12:B376.
How do I get these values to a ComboBox.
2). If the above is possible and if I select a value in ComboBox say 08/07/2006, it should get updated in a particular cell say A1
So selection of 08/07/2006 in ComboBox, should reflect 08/07/2006 in cell A1.
Note: This ComboBox is on the UserForm and not on the Excel Sheet.
I made a command button on the worksheet from the Tool box. This is not made on a form. When I click on the button I would like to get focus set to a certain cell and made active on the same page. Like cell H2 for example.

This works fine but leaves the cell highlighted with the blinking border. This will confuse the people who use my file. Is there a line of code I can add to this little macro that'll keep the cell from being highlighted?
I have a worksheet called "zz_Exchange" that contains the exchange rate for my company for each month of the financial year. I am using this info in a summary page that uses the data for multiple calculations in the workbook.As we pass each month I would like to move the focus of a cell in the summary sheet to the relevant month in "zz_Exchange"
The column names are "currency_code" (USA Euro etc),
"currency_year" (09, 10)
"period" (1-12)
"exchange_rate" (this is where the data is held)
I am usuing INDEX and MATCH to pull back employees hours from a master sheet, I am asking excel to Index, matiching firstly the agents name and then the day of the week (Formatted: Mon,Tue,Wed,Thurs,Fri,Sat,Sun). Below is the code for completing Sheet 1 using various comboxes on a User form. There are only 15 lines to which values can be entered on sheet 1. After the 15 lines have been completed, I would like to begin adding new data to sheet 2. However, I'm not really sure where to begin in terms of setting up a counter and then calling sheet 2 once the counter hits my limit. Sheet 2 is exactly identical to sheet 1 in layout and also has 15 lines.

I have a form that loads and depending on the word selected in the drop down the following code loops through cells Q2:AC2 until it finds the word in one of those cells (the word will always be in one of the cells)

The active cell it finds will always change, i know I need something to code the active cell back but I don't know what it should be.
I know this is a sooo basic question but I can not for the life of me remember how.....
when I am on a excel sheet I can not seem to move from quare to square qiththe arrow keys.
It just now takes me all the way to the left or all the way to the right and not from cell to cell from left to right.

I have no problem with this on 2003pro.
If I've defined borders for a range of cells and then, changing my mind, change it to "No Borders", those cells are still different than the normal, non-formated cells. Is there a way to get back the default cell bounders?

I've tried all sorts of things ( interior. colour, interior.colorIndex) but nothing gets the correct color.
macro which can paste the value from A1, to another B1 and when A1 is edited again, pasted it in B2. This will probably go on and on until B30. I have tried the if else then in Macro, and even the if elseif, but both don't go futher than B2. E.G A1=1 B1=1 A1=4 B2=4 A1=3 then nothing happens to B3. If there is a way to make this work, it will be great. The way i am tryin to get it is to have =if(B1="","",1) for each cell from C1:30 and with C31 the formula "=count(C1:C30)+1". Then i formated C31 to a custom and make it so that before numbers, there is an B. This means that if B1,2,3 and 4 and numbers in them, then C31 will read B5. That will be the cell i want my next record to go. I would prefer it if there is just a code that i can enter that will go to the next cell when it knows the current cell has a digit in it but if i have to, the count way will do,
