Conditional Copy VBA Macro Code
May 1, 2008
I have 2 workbooks that I am working out of. Workbook number 1 is where the data is going to be saved from workbook number 2. I need to copy data from workbook number 2 but there are several road blocks. 1) I need to search for specific information in column E. Anytime information is listed under this colomun it is listed 2 times one on top of the other with a different peice of information to the right of each one. note that the items that I am looking for on this sheet will no always be there.
What to copy under E / F
E F
1 BAR | $5,123
2 BAR | 24
Once the first "Bar" has been found, F1 & F2 need to be copied to workbook 1 to different locations on the active sheet. The names will always be listed together and the data will always be to the right.

I'm try to get a macro to do a 5 Colour Conditional format. I've searched the previous questions as recommended, and found code that I think will do the job. I've tried to modify it to my own specs, but I can't get it to do want I want. Basically I need it to colour code the cells based on the ball number within them. As I can't get the code to work, I don't know if the colour values are correct? Also given that cells are white by default, balls 1 - 9 don't need to be part of the code do they? I've attached a small example of what I've managed so far, with the macro code enbedded. Also what's the correct way of cpoying & pasting macro code from one spreadshhet to another? The simple copy and paste seems to stop the code working correctly. Any help would be greatfully received.

I am working with a large report that needs to be broken out and sent as separate files to recipients for confidentiality purposes. I'd rather not use views/protection since there are many different ways particular people need to see the data, plus it is a very large file and flattening it works to everyone's advantage. My goal is a macro that will copy each tab into separate workbooks, paste special values, and save as each as Cell A1 (or the tab name-same thing). I have tried recording macros and editing (I'm very new to VBA) many times but it's a mess.

I have 9 worksheets in a book with sheets 1-8 used for data entry, and sheet 9 used for a weekly data upload. Sheets 1-8 are all formatted the same, they just represent different vendors. I need a macro to look through column F (invoice number) on sheets 1-8 and see if the value of each cell already appears in column c on sheet 9. If the value is not found and the row value for column M (sheets 1-8) is >0, I need to copy the data from columns D:K and paste special values into the next blank row on sheet 9.
Basically I'm trying to see if I've already paid an invoice, and if not then I need to automatically add the data for payment. I've tried to mess around with a VBA code myself and ended up with a migraine every time. I've also tried to use the advanced filter, but the cell values I need to copy over contain formulas and conditional formatting...not to mention I can't delete the data on sheet 9 that has already been added.

I am trying to write a macro to search a column for a specific text string which when found, will copy the whole row the string is in. Once this row has been copied, I then want the macro to activate a new sheet and search for the next available empty row to paste the data. Once this has been done, go back to the original sheet and find the next cell in the original column with the specified text string and repeat until the range has been satisfied. Below is the script I have that sort of works.

Here is the code I have:
Windows("2.xlsm").Activate
Sheets("Report_P").Select
Sheets("Report_P").Copy After:=Workbooks("New_report.xlsx").Sheets(9)
2.xlsm is open. it contains a sheet called Report_P New_report.xlsx is open and has 9 existing sheets
Every time this tries to execute I get a "Run time error 1004 Copy Method of Worksheet Failed".
What is wrong with this code? I have an identical line in another macro, the only difference is that there are 5 sheets pre-existing, and that works fine.

I have to issue template workbooks to people for budgeting purposes.
Within the workbooks are various numbers of worksheets pre -formatted and ready for these people to enter data.
Some of the data in the worksheets is important to them as individuals but not to me so I have a series of macros that lift the information from the worksheets and put it into a worksheet more specific to me.
Because the users are on the whole not that good with Excel I have put in easy to use look up tables and various proctections to stop them adding or deleting rows or columns as this plays havoc with my macros.
There is one thing I have "so far" been unable to do and I wondered if anyone could help.
Is there a macro that I could put somewhere in the workbook which would detect when someone tried to cut and paste and would either put up a message box or stop them doing this?
The reason being they are cutting from one row to another and this is messing up the calculations which are protected.
Is there also a way to stop them changing the name on the sheet tab in the smae way?

I have a long header I am pasting to a column "A" on a new Sheet. When the header pastes it is repeating itself but with long blank spaces in between each repeat. The first time goes from A1 to A152, which is all I want. But it shows up again starting at A180225, and again at A212993, and again and again. I only want a single instance of the header in Column A. Here is the macro I am using:
Sub Sort_Cells()
Rows("1:1").Select
Selection.Copy
Sheets.Add after:=Sheets(Sheets.Count)
Sheets("Sheet1").Select
Columns("A:A").Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteAll, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks:= _
True, Transpose:=True
Selection.Columns.AutoFit
Range("B1").Select
End Sub

I have created a macro with the below formula in it:
Range("L2").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=LEN(RC[-1])"
Range("L2").Select
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range("L2:L234")
Range("L2:L234").Select
I am using column K and it looks up the length of this cell. When I created the formula I was using info that only went to line 234 which was fine. Once I clear the info in column K and input new info it can go further than line 234. How do I get the macro to look up the whole of column k without having to create a new macro each time?

I would like to have something that will auto run the code in Module1 when the Excel File is opened, but I do not want to code tansfered into the file when it is saved in its location.
I don't mind if the code is tranfered to saved file if in fact I can make sure the code is not run when the new file is opened...
Everything is working as intended at the moment, but when openeing the saved file the entire macro tried to run again. This is what I do not want...
I currently have the following code in Module1.
Private Sub Workbook_Open()

' Format_Copy_&_Paste

Application.OnKey "^+r", "Warehouse_Cost_Summary"

Sheets("Sheet1").Select
Sheets("Sheet1").Name = "DataSet"

I cant seem to get to work together in the same macro but that work great seperated. I need them to be in the same macro. The first just simply copy's text from one workbook to another:
Sub Test2()
ActiveSheet. Range("a1").Copy _
Destination:=Workbooks("punchlist.xls"). Sheets("Sheet1").Cells(Rows.Count,1).End(xlup).Offset(1,0)
End Sub
That worked ok but I needed to change it to the "active cell" instead of cell "a1". So then this line of code was made:
Dim userInputCell As Range
On Error Resume Next
Set userInputCell = Application.InputBox("Use the mouse to select a cell on any sheet", type:=8)
On Error Goto 0
If userInputCell Is Nothing Then
MsgBox "Cancel pressed"
Else
Msgbox "You selected " & userInputCell.Address(,,,True)
End If
The second code works just the way I want it but it doesnt copy over the text to the other workbook. I assume the 2 codes need to be together but I cant get it to work without errors. I also need the text to copy over without changing the borders on either workbook.

I have a cell with seven conditional formatting formula rules that I now want to copy to the rest of the column. I can copy/paste special/formats one cell at a time but if I try to to this with a group of cells, (or try using the format painter), it treats the formula references as absolute, even though they aren't shown as absolute in the rules manager. Am I missing something? Using 2007.

I m creating a sheet in excel where I need to do some conditional formatting but need more than 3 rules so i'm guessing i'll need to use some vb code.
Basically I have a range of cells say from c12 to ag15
These cells all have formulas in linking to other cells in other sheets.
Tha values that will be in them are as follows: s, h, hd,ooo,z and maybe 1 or 2 more will be added later. I need the cells background and text colour both to change to a colour depending on the value in the cell.
eg. cell value = s then background and text colour both to be yellow.

Using conditional formatting, I set the font color to Green for Cell G12
=IF( SUM(G12) > C28,SUM(G12),""). This worked. However I needed 6 conditions for this formatting. Excel only allows for 3 conditions. My VBA code is not working. Can someone tell me the correct code?
For cells "G12,O12,G23,O23" I want the font colors to change if their value is
1. greater than or equal to Cell C28 (change to green font)
2. greater than or equal to Cell C29 (change to orange font)
3. greater than or equal to Cell C30 (change to brown font)
4. greater than or equal to Cell D28 (change to green font)
5. greater than or equal to Cell D29 (change to orange font)
6. greater than or equal to Cell D30 (change to brown font)
It is set so that if a value is enter in C28, D28 will have a zero value. Can only use one or the other. Likewise if C29 has a value, D29 will be zero and cannot be used.
The code I used was:.............

I have a workbook that requires a VB code to help me out with Conditional Formatting. I use Office 2003 which is restricted to 3 conditions, I know there is an add in I can use that would help me do this but other people may use this that wont have the add in. I have decided to use VB if possible to get this done.
I have a range of cells from B22 – T22 in these cells I will be putting codes, when these codes are put into the cells I would like the cells to shade a different colour depending on what code I use. Here is an example of what I mean.
P = blue
S = red
HL = green
ML = magenta
FL = orange
I may have a couple of more codes I will add at a latter time. Is it possible for VB code to do this?

I recorded some code and cleaned it up to apply a conditional format
Sub condi_format_I()
Dim wbBook As Workbook
Dim ws As Worksheet
Dim rng As Range
Set wbBook = ThisWorkbook
Set ws = wbBook.Worksheets("Summary")
Set rng = ws.Range("C4:P52")
With rng
.FormatConditions.Delete
.FormatConditions.Add xlExpression, Formula1:="=C4<0"
.FormatConditions(1).Interior.ColorIndex = 45
End With
End Sub
I would like to apply a custom color index to all cells in range C4:P52 if the value is less than zero.
But when I execute the macro, many cells receive the custom format that do notr match the custom format. Other cells that should receive the custom format do not

Is there a way to look at a cell's own value and then format it accordingly using VB?
I have a cell whose value changes based on DDE link to live price data.
Cell is "Q5".
When the new value is greater than the old value - i want to format the pattern color of the cell.
When the new value is less than the old value - i want to format the pattern color of the cell.
Does anyone know how to do this please or is there a way to do this using spreadsheet formulas as oppose to VB?

I am having a little trouble with this code, which runs in my simple but efective ressource overview. It loops through a rather large range and assigns interior colour to the cells based on certain criteria. On my stationary machine (Excel 2003) it takes approximately 15-30 seconds to run the code which is acceptable. On my laptop (Excel 2007) it takes 5+ minutes which is unacceptable. Is there a workaround so as to optimize the speed? Further, when I run this workbook on Excel 2007, even entering an integer in the sheet takes 3-4 seconds, and no code is running! In my first version I used a Change_Event to colour cells on the fly but this was slow and prevented multible cell editing as well as pasting values into the appropriate range.
Public Sub Farvelade()
Dim icolor, Navn As Integer
Dim TargetRow, LastRow, Previous As Long
Dim Target As Range
MsgBox "Det kan tage 15-30 sekunder at opdatere ressourcekalenderen"
Range("A5").Activate
Range("A5"). CurrentRegion.Select
'Set range
ActiveCell.Offset(Selection.Rows.Count, 0).Activate
LastRow = Cells(Cells.Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).Row.....................

I found code that I would like to use conditional formatting code as shown here. Here is the code just in case:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim icolor As Integer
If Not Intersect(Target, Range("A1:A10")) Is Nothing Then
Select Case Target
Case 1 To 5
icolor = 6
Case 6 To 10
icolor = 12
Case 11 To 15
icolor = 7
Case 16 To 20
how can I get this code to work across the entire workbook and not just for the specific worksheet? I tried pasting the code into the This Workbook under VBA Project and changing the Private to Public but no go.
