I have a spreadsheet in one column contains multiple sets of data separated by commas see example 1.
I need convert the data to rows, each set into a new row see example 2.

Example 2:
PS-8800-C (Row 1)

reformat a table in which data for each named person is presented in one row with mutiple columns into a table in which each named person has multiple rows and one column of data. The solution to to this has eluded me so far.
The attached example shows before and after.

First column is in goups: First row of each group contains customer's name then followed by test codes. Test codes are usually repeated three times per customer but they have different names (listed in third column as Test1, Test2 and Test3) and different results (listed in 4th column as POSITIVE, NEGATIVE or NP).
What I want to do is to convert this data into a way that each row has One customer name and the columns in front of each customer lists Tests results and dates. If a customer has multiple test codes, then one row to be created for each test code.

I am working on putting together a very large spreadsheet covering multiple data sets over multiple states/years. I am trying to convert the data that I have in one spreadsheet (that is arranged like the example below) and make it so that I can paste the data into another spreadsheet as one single row: i.e, 1,651 would follow in the column to the right in the same row as 6.4 and so on. Right now I am having to copy and paste row by row and it is going to take me years.

I have a table in excel in which every line has as many values as the days of the month (e.g. 31 values first row, 28 the second..) and it goes from January 1948 to July 2014. So it ends up having around 800 rows.
I need to put all of those into a column, but it gets hard because the rows have different lengths. I have seen in this forum some solutions that apply well when the table is regular, but I'm stuck in trying to get a solution for when it's not. I have tried to record a macro using TRANSPOSE, but then I cannot change the cells into this formula in the editor in order to create a loop.
I also have to consider leap years.
I would like to combine values from multiple records into a single record using a unique identifier. In the example below 'ID' is the unique identifier.
For example:

I know how to merge data in a CSV (see attachment) from 2 columns into a single cell using =A1&" | "&B2 so that A1 (Safety Products) plus B1 (Fire Protection) becomes Safety Products | Fire Protection in cell C1, but how can I do this across multiple rows so that each pair of names is combined in each row? The job I'm working with is a product CSV file that has 6370 lines so I don't want to do them one line at a time!

I am trying to figure out an efficient way to convert data into Excel. The data is not in a row/column format. The format that I received the data in is as follows (2 columns; column labels repeating for each name in column A, and the corresponding data in column B. See below. transposing and sorting data into multiple columns.
Column 1 for example will have the Parent's Name. Column 2 will have the Children.
If Mark has 3 children, X Y and Z
Jim has two children, A and B

I have a single column with multiple rows of data like this: Afirst last, Bfirst last, Cfirst last (all in one cell) etc.
I want to type some names in one cell in the same format (Afirst last, Cfirst last, Bfirst last) but not order and then check if any of those names exist in the first column and count the results of matches.
So in this example I am looking to count Bfirst last and/or Cfirst last in every cell of column A. I need to use a formula.

Each data in a row in the new table will occupy a different cell.
I need to transpose data from Column A to Row 2 and down.
The data in column A is in sections of 19 rows and then a blank cell and another 19 rows of data contimuously, It is a dynamic range and can contain many thousands of Rows.
The data needs to be transposed from Column A to row 2 (row 1 has the head line for each column) so the 19 lines of data is now spread accross 19 columns in row 2 and the next section from column A is spread accross the 19 columns in row 3 and so on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 2 columns of data E and F. Column E has 11 different words that randomly repeat, Column F has 10 years of dates, about 1,000 entries (10/11/12 format). Both columns values come from formulas.
I am trying to copy cells E & F to columns K & L starting in row 2 only if there is is data in column E (one of the 11 words) and skipping all others rows. Both the E & F values of tthe row must be copied together, i.e if text is in E45, then copy E45 and F45 into column K and L starting with K2 & L2. This is a task which will be repeated multiple times as data is replaced in columns A-D.
I have a list of Spid numbers and a service category identifying if it is a Water Spid or a Waste spid.
The Spid is split into 2 parts. The Core is the identifier and the Category states if it is a Water or a Waste spid.
If the 1st digit in the Category is a 1 = Water.
If the 1st digit in the Category is a 2 = Waste.
There may only be a water spid or a property may have a water and waste spid.
What I want to do is have the information on 1 row rather than 2 rows

I have tried IF(lookup) and it works for the 1st row but I can't get it to look at the 2nd row.My data consists of 400,000 plus rows
how to shift data in a column down multiple rows while in an IF statement. I am assuming you cannot just simply repeat the insert cell formula.

I've got an issue where I'm trying to transpose data from one column into several rows. I've been looking for a macro to help me out but can't seem to find a way to do this. Does anyone have any idea how I can do this?
Ideally, the macro would be written so it would find the data in the column and move it to a new sheet and then it would repeat the process throughout the document. The macro would know that the data is grouped b/c of the blanks found between the data set. So as the macro is running, once it hits a blank, it would then copy and transpose the data and continue. Does this make sense?
I've posted a sample of the info I'm working with.
I have a single column of about 1500 points, and I need them to be separated into many rows of 20 numbers.
I have multiple issues:
1) The middle number of each row (10th and 11th) need to be repeated. So a transpose formula can not work all the way through the 20 numbers. Unless I transpose the first ten, then tranpose the second ten. Is there an easier way around this ?
2) The bigger issue is, I would like to write a formula that can manipulate the date to enter in the correct cell.
To illustrate I will use a set of ten numbers:

I have two columns with dates. Colum A has the date of the deadline of a document while column b has the day it was sent. Column X will display the difference if its a positive integer ( i.e. if the document has been sent after the deadline). Now i have another column Y which displays the month as an integer of when the document was actually received.
Now i need a counter which will count the number of instances a positive integer is registered in column X according to the month in column Y. I have been trying everything but cant figure a simple way to do it. Im doing this so i can be able to see how many documents are sent after the deadline per month.
