Count Empty Column Cells For Each Group Of Values

see attached workbook.

I'm attempting to count the empty cells in column C which correspond with the project reference shown in column A. I only want to perform this calculation where the project numbers change (see desired results in column D).

Am struggling with finding a way to define the different range of rows for each project ref within the formula. The full sheet has over 6000 rows and 1500 project refs.

Copy Values Of Cells In Column To 1st Empty Cell On Row

I have two sheets and I want to copy the values in a row in the first sheet to the second sheet. I am doing the following:

Sheet2. Range("A1").Value = Sheet1.Range("A1", Sheet1.Range("A1").End(xlToRight)).Value

But this only copies the value of A1 in Sheet1 to A1 in Sheet2. How should I modify it to copy the values for the whole range to the second sheet?

Excel 2010 :: Formula To Determine If Duplicate Values Exist In Single Column (excluding Empty Cells)

1 workbook, 2 worksheets (or tabs). On tab 1, I want a formula/alert that tells the user if any duplicate values exist in Column A of tab 2

Tab 2, Column A, has Unique ID's (6 digit numeric values)

The user manually inputs the ID's on new rows in Column A

Row 1 is reserved and in use for something else
Row 2 is my header, so cell A2 says "ID"
Row 3-623 currently contain unique ID's

When the user inputs a new ID into cell A624, then they return to Tab 1, I want my formula/alert on Tab 1 to tell the user that they have duplicates in Column A of tab 2. I know the Conditional Formatting, but if the user copies in 100 new values, they won't necessarily see the highlighted cells. My tab 1 is my "checks and balances" and the last place the user is suppposed to look to ensure that they haven't created any duplicate ID's. If the user sees a warning message that says duplicates exist, then I'll tell them that they need to look at column A (for cells that have been conditionally highlighted).

One issue that I'm running into with the conditional highlighting is that I want cells A3:A1048576 to already have the conditional formatting - this way when the user inserts a value into Cell A624, then A625, etc they conditional formatting is already there. Right now with data in cells A3:A623, cells A624:A1048576 are all highlighted with the Red/Bold Red Font (which is okay I guess), but ideally it would be nice to not count 2+ empty cells as duplicates and I'll have to have my formula on Tab 1 not include the blank cells.

I DO NOT want to use the Remove Duplicates feature of Excel 2010. If I remove them I could be removing data in columns B, C, D, etc that belong to the Unique ID. I just need the user to be told in Tab 1 that they DO have duplicates and I'll train the user how to research this and fix it.

The reason I want to look for duplicates in the entire Column A is because the list of Unique ID's will grow over time.

I use the following formula to count unique values within a group for a pivot:

=IF(SUMPRODUCT(($CO$2:$CO55681=CO55681)*($E$2:$E55681=E55681))>1,0,1)

When I paste values over the formula it takes around 1 hours to do the 70k cells which is excessive. I want to know if there is a way to speed it up?

I tried doing an =cell and then paste special that and it works really fast but when I delete the actual formula's again the whole sheet locks up.

I have 10 columns and 18 rows. Every 2nd row might contain a number. I need to sum those numbers, however, sometimes group of cells in a row can be merged and i value of a cell is then 0.

example:

A1 to D1 merged; value 6
A3 to B3 merged; value 3
B5 to E5 merged; value 2

=sum(A1,A3, A5) would return 9 - correct
=sum(B1,B3, B5) would return 2 - should be 11?
=sum(C1, C3, C5) would return 0 - should be 8?
=sum(D1,D3, D5) would return 0 - should be 8?
=sum(E1, E3, E5) would return 0 - should be 2?

I have like 20 columns. I wonder if there is an Excel formula that will count all the non-empty cells across 20 columns. For example, if there are 10 non-empty cells from row B1 to U1 then enter 10 in the result cell A1 and so on down the number of rows. Or, on the other hand, count all the blank or empty cells from B1 to U1.

I am trying to count empty cells in the range from the macro.

Idea is to count empty cells in one row, but cells to be counted are discontinued (range A10:A15, A25:A30. ETC....). Other difficulty is that I can not define the range exactly like this, but I have to use ActiveCell.Offset (0,10) or ActiveCell.Offset(0,11) etc...
ActiveCell is A1.

I tried something like this, but it does not work since I can not define the range correctly.

I need to group all records where the values in column A are equal. BUT I needed them sorted by another column (the whole sheet, not just within each group). Currently, all of the values in column A are listed in random order. Is there any way to do this manually?

to elaborate a bit further, consider the following:

Columns: A-B-C-etc.
1-Z...
1-X...
4-X
3-Y
4-Y
2-Z

Basically, I need to group all of the "1"'s and all of the "4"'s so that the extra values will show underneath the other. HOWEVER, I need them to be sorted such that the order in which they appear are XYZ. So the goal would be:

I want to include a second condition to this formula that will check if another column of dates are blank then they should not be counted. So if for example a1:a2 have expired dates, and b1:b2 have both got dates then they should be included in the count.

Protecting Cells Disables Group Column Function?

I have certain cells in my spreadsheet that contain formulas linking them with other sheets within my workbook. I have grouped sets of rows in my first 2 sheets (to show just headings and to expand to subheadings & details). When I try protect the cells with formulas on the sheet then it blocks me from expanding or contracting the row groups.

Is there an easier way to stop someone editing or deleting the data in my cells? There are about 2 dozen cells with formulas in my first sheet that need protecting - unfortunately not in any particular order...

I have a worksheet on which the data is already grouped. At the top of each group is a row that contains only the group name. Since the rest of that row is blank, I want to use a blank cell on that row as a reference, then copy the group name to a newly created column, then fill that column down to the next group.
