I have columns of data that I’m trying to count the number of times that one column’s numbers fall between 2 other columns range. For the numbers in column F I’m trying to get a count of the number of times that the numbers appear between the ranges in columns C to D. The total would increment in column E as these numbers were found in the range. Example: The numbers 60 (F2) and 150 (F3) would appear in the range 1 (C1) to 156 (D1). The count would be 2 which would appear in cell E1.
I have a cell content to interogate in vba, the format of the cell is that it has a set of numbers. There are 3 posible scenarios. 1 There is no number at all 2 There is just one number 3 There could be theoraticaly as many as 24 numbers separated by a space eg 2 4 12 .
I would like to count the number of these numbers and and express it as a variable. The numbers will always be unique by that I mean there will not be 2 same numbers in the one cell. I tried looking for the solution but I had no success.
For the example above TheFinalTotal = 3
Also Im trying to strip a date in a format 02/12/2006 into just 02122006. I know that this is possible but I just bomed out trying to find this as well.
I need a way to find a value in a column which has one or more corresponding values in an adjacent column. Then take all of the corresponding values found and count all occurrences of the found values in another column. But I only want to count the entries if an adjacent column is not blank.
Not the easiest thing to describe. Starting to wonder if I need to think in reverse. I hope the attached example makes more sense.
I'm trying to find out if there is a way to count a specific number from a cell that has multiple numbers in the cell. I have attached a worksheet.
Example, on the attached worksheet, I want to count how many 16's in column C and input that total number into G18. Then I want G19 to tell me how many 17's in Column C, then how many 18's in G20 and so on. I want to do this for all days in a month, 1 through 31. If there are no numbers, then "0" or a blank cell is ok. Not to concerned with zero's.
One has numbers the other has "YES" or is blank. I want a formula to look at the second column and where there is a "Yes" then count the number in the same row in the first column.
A B Apples 1 Apples 1 Bananas 1 Carrots 0 Carrots 0 Donut 1 Donut 1 Donut 1 Donut 1 Egg 1 Fish 0
I would like a to create a function in one cell that counts the unique text values in column A, but only when there is a corresponding 1 in column B. So the answer in the above example would be 4 (Apples, Bananas, Donut, Egg).
I have a group of employees who work different divisions and work is not done everyday. I want to count the unique values of a division (only once) per day that the division shows up. Within a week, workers in a division might work 3 days and not other days. I've tried a few array formulas but they count unique within a range and I need the unique value to be based on the selected cell.
Please see attached : Unique Values In Between Dates.xlsx
I'm trying to figure out how to count by two criteria, only one of the criteria has a value among multiple values in a cell and the other is a range. I tried to use sum but it doesn't count the value and count doesn't recognize the range. I attached the file so you can see what we're trying to do.
I have 10 columns and 18 rows. Every 2nd row might contain a number. I need to sum those numbers, however, sometimes group of cells in a row can be merged and i value of a cell is then 0.
example:
A1 to D1 merged; value 6 A3 to B3 merged; value 3 B5 to E5 merged; value 2
=sum(A1,A3, A5) would return 9 - correct =sum(B1,B3, B5) would return 2 - should be 11? =sum(C1, C3, C5) would return 0 - should be 8? =sum(D1,D3, D5) would return 0 - should be 8? =sum(E1, E3, E5) would return 0 - should be 2?
I am designing a spreadsheet for my colleagues and I have run into a problem. Range U16 tu U and the first blank row has values TRUE or FALSE. The problem is you will never know if it's U16:U21 or U16:U90. The thing is to come up with a formula (no vba) that will count all TRUE values in that range. I found a formula on the internet to find the first blank column: =MATCH(TRUE,INDEX(ISBLANK(U16:U300),0,0),0) + 16 - 1
The formula works great and if I put it in, say, cell P2 it will return the correct result.
Now, the cell K2 has the following formula: =COUNTIF(U16:U300,TRUE). It Counts incorrectly. I do not want it to run to U300 but to whatever P2 returns. How can I do this?
In what would be Cell E2 I want to post the Total posted set Assuming that the Order Numbers and the OP Numbers are the Same, but only if there is a value in the allowed set, So I'd expect E2 in the case below to read 1.83,
Order No OP Posted Set Allowed Set 30761157 00100.731.500 3076115700100.500.000 3076115700100.600.000 3076461000100.000.000 3076461000101.050.500 3076524400100.000.000 3076524400100.550.500 3076639600100.000.000 3076639600101.180.500 3076810900100.000.000 3076862900100.000.000 3076862900100.000.000 3076862900100.000.000
I need to count the number of values entered into a single cell seperated by commas for record keepin purposes. I would prefer not to use a macro since I am not an expert, but will if i must. Here is an example of what i am talking about:
User A will enter "109,108,107,106" into a cell in Column A
At the bottom of column A the Total will read 4.
Now User B enters "110,111,112,113" into the next cell in Column A
The value stands for the Periodnumber and a Year so P1'08 stands for period 1 in the year 2008.
In cell H2 I want the following:
If value in cell H1 is the same as B2 or C2 or is in between these periods then the value in H2 should be the value of cell D2. If not the H2 should be empty.
I have this kind of data going down about 2000 rows. I want to find how many times 1 and 5 appear in each row until there is no more data to read. I found the formula below but I cant use it for 2000 lines plus any extra that will appear in the future...
In the picture below, I need a formula in column E to count the unique occurrences in column A (excluding blanks) if its corresponding value in column B (B1 value) matches that in column D (B2 value). Currently column E is showing the values I would want the formula to return.

At the moment I have a formula as below:
=SUMPRODUCT(--(B:B=$D2),--(A:A<>""))
this will do a countif in column A if column B matches the value in column D, but would not weed out duplicates for me.
Modifying my formula. I have attached the sample workbook below.
I'm looking for a way to count the cells in a specified range if the cell contains a timevalue (such as: 0:05 or 1:15). When a cell in the same range contains a normal value (such as: 1 or 20) it should not be counted.
What formula should i use for this?
I was experimenting with:
=CountIF(N4:N50,">TIMEVALUE(0:01)") and =CountIF(N4:N50,">TIME(0,0,1)")
I have a field that contains the following: 012100002030
I need a formula that will tell me whether or not the string contains a number higher than 2 or whether or not it contains more than one 2.
Examples:
001000002011 111111000022 401110000000
the first loan would not meet the criteria as it contains no number higher than 2 and only contains one 2. the second loan would meet the criteria as it contains two 2's. the 3rd loan would meet the criteria as it contains a number higher than 2.
I require a Formula to calculate the INTERVALS (the number of Rows between the LAST instance and the PREVIOUS instance in a column) between each individual occurrence of any designated PAIR of Numeric values (single-digit / double-digit) in the same Row of the Named Range "Results" and return each calculated INTERVAL result to a separate Column on the same Row of a New Sheet - starting with the most recent ( the LAST) occurrence.
For instance, each time 80 and 87 appear together in the same Row, return the INTERVAL by calculating the number of Rows between the LAST instance and the PREVIOUS instance in a column - locate when both Numeric values LAST appeared together and Count back to their PREVIOUS appearance together to get the required Count; i.e. count from the Row ABOVE LAST appearance to the Row BEFORE PREVIOUS appearance.
The results are returned to a chart / matrix layout: I have the criterion vertically and horizontally and they are referenced using the horizontal and vertical cell address that houses each criterion, and the results are returned across the Row of the intercept of the vertical and horizontal criterion. At some point both criterion values being referenced will be the same, can the Formula return empty text "" when this occurs?
Example Chart / Matrix Layout: Cell Ref. A2 and B1 criterion 80 and 80 Cell Ref. A3 and B1 criterion 81 and 80 Cell Ref. A4 and B1 criterion 82 and 80
I need a Macro (not formula) which compares the comma separated values present in Column "I" with individual values present in Column "D" and generate the count of unique values in Column "J".
I'm running into an issue trying to calculate unique values in a Data column based on a few variables in other columns.
My current formula in Summary tab D4:D19 is {=SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(Data!$I$3:$I$66<$E$1,IF(Data!$A$3:$A$66=$H$1, IF(Data!$C$3:$C$66=A4,ROW(Data!$I$3:$I$66)))),ROW(Data!$I$3:$I$66)),1)) + SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(Data!$I$3:$I$66<$E$1,IF(Data!$A$3:$A$66=$I$1, IF(Data!$C$3:$C$66=A4,ROW(Data!$I$3:$I$66)))),ROW(Data!$I$3:$I$66)),1))}
This is currently counting the number of times a date value (data column I) appears for that name (A4:A19) in the data when meeting all of the conditions. I need it to instead count the number of times a unique date appears for that name with the additional conditions met (which all appear to work fine).
The results in the pink highlighted cells (Summary column D) should be:
Names starting with A - 3 All others - 2
I've left some other columns in the data with X's so that I can easily convert this back to my working spreadsheet.
the 'Odd-Even' count in the attached worksheet? I want to do away with columns 'K' to 'P' but still keep the odd-even count in columns 'H' & 'I'. I can get it work so far but I would really like to have it so that columns 'K' to 'P' are not visible. I know you could hide those columns, but is there a better way to do this? Also I would like to keep the Odd-Even counts for the blank lines blank until you add data to them.
I am trying to use a countif formula to calculate how many cells are above 95% from a given row.. However, some of the cells in the row has numerical values and not percentage. How can I modify the formula to calculate how many cells are above 95% from the whole row? Example as below:
A B C D 94.8% 4.25 3.25 96.5%
Based on the above, I used a countif formula to calculate how many cells are above 95% but the solution was wrong.
I have an array that I'm using - and it works perfectly: =SUM(If((FREQUENCY(If(LEN(B10:B100)>0,MATCH(B10:B100,B10:B100,0),""),If(LEN(B10:B100)>0,MATCH(B10:B100,B10:B100,0),""))>0),1))
Now, what I would like to do, is see how many of these unique numbers relate to another number in column D See attachment.
I have a column of numbers of approx 3000 rows and the number is either a 0 or 1 and they are in a random order in each row. I would like to count the number of 0 in the column. If there is consecutive 0 (a block of 0), I would still need to count it as a single occurrence.
For example, the count (or sum) for the number of occurrences for the number 0 in the below would be 4.
I have a daily column of numbers of approx 600 rows and the number is either a 0 or 1 and the 0 or 1 are in a random order in each row like:
1 1 1 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 1
I would like to find the min number of rows with 1, the max number of rows with 1, the totals of consecutive rows with 1 ie 3 consecutive rows of 1 appear 4 times, 4 consecutive rows appear 6 times etc and the average of the consecutive rows with 1.
