I have a time card that is split into sections so there are a lot of SUM formulas. However, I need to include a space for breaks - 10 min.
How do I make everything convert comfortably?
Ex. 5 hours allotted to person A. 5 hours to person B. 1 hour 40 allotted to tasks. And 20 min per day for breaks.
Is there a way to format the cell so that it displays hours and minutes
1:35 = 1hr35min ??
All the formats available show it as time. I need it as a quantity of time rather than time of day so that the formulas will add correctly.
I am trying to put together a userform based time card calculator. User inputs the time in the time out and how long of a lunch. Then the program will display total hours worked for the day. Ive attached what I have so far. The only thing that is not very clear is that I have one hidden textbox for the lunch. It is there only for calculating and the visible one is going to inc by :15 min.
Just basic enter a start time in column A a finish time in column B and column C gives you total in hours and minutes and then maybe a way to sum those hours and minutes. how to do "Math" on time and how it should be entered (formatted) for it to work properly.
How do I format a spreadsheet set up as a time card entry log so that I can enter 0543 and it appears as 05:43 AM and/or enter 1653 and it appears as 4:53 PM.
I have it formatted right now to show that data but I have to enter it as 05:43 and it appears as 5:43 AM which is what I want and the in/out times calculate with an end result of hours worked.
I want to do it without having to enter the colon.

I have the need to filter out letters put in after a number in a time card spreadsheet. I'm not sure that using a select case is the right approach. I need to allow the user to put in a number and a letter signifying what type of time it is. Each cell equals a date on a calendar. For example if the user puts in 8s then the code will add 8 hours to the total sick time, strip out the s and just leave 8 in the cell. The problem is that I need to deal with all of the other letters/symbols that they can enter. From what I know of VBA which isn't much a Select Case seems to be way to go without using a bunch of nested If statements. Here is what I would like to do but this doesn't work. This is a short example of what I have tried as far as Select Case goes.
I'm working on a dynamic payroll spreadsheet that will automatically calculate the overtime worked in a week. Right now, I'm running into a snag. My issue is with the formula in Column R. Right now, as shown below, it is doing the calculation based on regular hours minus 40 to determine the OT time. The snag is very messy and it lay in this: while the row by row calculations for total overtime worked for the week is correct, the sum at the bottom is very much off. I need an accurate method to sum the hours of overtime for the given column.
Here are the guidelines for the pay periods and overtime:
1. The pay periods for the month go from the 1st to the 15th and the 16th to EOM (End of Month). This means that the pay period could end on any given day of the week. More on this in a moment.
2. A work week is defined as Sunday to Saturday.
3. Overtime is calculated based on the rule of anything over 40 hours in a given work week.
4. Holiday hours worked do not count towards the 40 hour mark in granting overtime since Holiday pay is automatically overtime.
If it were just a matter of a bi-weekly (every 2 weeks) pay period, I would simply state =IF(weekday(DATE)=7,Hours_Worked - 40,0), and tag a SUM(range) at the bottom. Unfortunately, with it being a semi-monthly (twice a month), the end of the pay period could be a Wednesday, so a reference to day of the week won't work unless the formula can dynamically determine which set of data to evaluate.
I'm completely willing to toss out the current method of determining overtime. This is the calculations sheet that references a cleanly formatted and designed time card on a tab called "Time Card", so this isn't the full workbook. In fact, once the whole thing is done, this calculation sheet will be hidden.
Columns M and N (which are formula referenced in Column P) are basic End - Start calculations and were hidden to simplify the display as well as the number of formulas displayed.
Column L (formula referenced) is a Yes/No display for if the date in question is holiday pay.
I have a worksheet which contains START TIME in column A, then TIME USAGE in column B and END TIME in column C. User enters start time, followed by the number of time usage in minutes, how could i possibly display the end time automatically in this scenario? how do you add the entered time usage to the start time to display the end time? Say if I enter 1:00 AM at start time and 00:15 minutes on time usage, how can 1:15 AM be displayed on the end time automatically?
I need the users to be able to enter the time using either a . or a colon :,
So: 13:30 would give 13:30 and 13.30 would give 13:30. They have end up in time format too since I will be performing calculations on them. When that decimal place is entered I would like it to be turned into a dot
code that creates hyperlinks by the column or row. I Have a spreadsheet with some code which archives data into a summary sheet and creates a backup sheet of the detail. This all works really well. In the summary sheet, I have a column that is named with the name of the new worksheet.
What I want to do is to be able to create a hyperlink from this name in the column to the new, backed up worksheet. I do not want to create a list of hyper links, I only want to create on link at a time, each time I run the code.
I seem to struggle with excel formulas when time is involved. I am trying to create a spreadsheet that reviews outcome measures (walking tests in this case) to outline firstly if someone has improved or not (Outcome in the blue columns) which seems to be working alright. This takes into account the 2 aspects of time taken to complete the test and the walking aid required.
What I would now like to be able to do is compare each individuals 'After' score with a normal range for that test. I have put a list below the table of the ranges I am looking for. I have tried to put time formats into a long IF formula to try and get the ranges covered for the TUAG test, but doesn't seem to be working.
The 10 metre walk test is a little trickier as this is looking at change in velocity between the before and after scores. I think I need to be able to work out the velocity for each test and then do a comparison, but again bit stuck with the time formatting.
I have a piece of code that runs and creates an output Excel sheet that currently has the run date as a suffix for the automatically generated file name. However, I now sometimes have to run this report multiple times in one day, which currently means overwriting the previously run spreadsheet (whereas I would like to keep both versions of the ruin output).
Is there a way that I can create some kind of counter for the number of times the report is run and add that as a suffix for the file name? At the moment the only way I can think to do this is to set up code that looks at the file name containing the date field and adds 1 to every number that is added as a suffix, but this doesn't seem very efficient...
I am creating 10 pivot tables for data in one worksheet and putting them in a separate work sheet. i used the macro recorder but the cod eit worte stop at this line ...
I'm creating a Purchase Order Form that will reduce time spent adding in contact details. What I'm looking to achieve is a form that will be printed with a few formulas allowing sections of the form to be filled out automatically once a singular company name (chosen from a drop-down list I created, currently with a 'Combo box ActiveX') then the rest of the form is filled out accordingly.
At the moment it's a bit of a mess, not too sure where I'm meant to put the ranges. There are currently 2 sheets - Sheet 1 with the form, Sheet 2 with all contact information.
Is there any way of creating a log that logs the last user that saved the workbook including the date and time. I would like the log to be a sheet hidden in the workbook. Not many people will be saving the workbook.
I am trying to make a line graph showing the gradual rises and falls in profit over a period of time, when I use the data and click line graph normally, it will plot each bit of data individually rather than gradually, for example;
If I tried to plot the above data, the graph will not show a gradual rise but instead will show a value of £1604.88 on the 23rd of September when instead I would want the chart line to be at £29,287.55 (The total).
I need to create a macro to copy the data from time sheets of different employees into the Master sheet. ie., each employee's time sheet details in to a separate sheet. If any employee fails to provide his/her time sheet details. a mail must be sent to the respective employees regarding the Time sheet submission. I am providing the sample data of my files too.
Intentionally TS_Employee5.xlsx timesheet isn't provided. In which case, I have to send a mail to the respective employee, in order to remind him about the time sheet.
the vendor has a 21 hr working window; start from 7am and goes until 4am; Mon to Fri.
Here is a scenario: - i request for a product information from a vendor on 3-Feb-14 8:00am (Monday) - he replies with all of the product info on 6-Feb-14 12:00pm (Thursday)
can you find the time in above scenario consideration the working window?
Here is another scenario: - i request for a product information from a vendor on 6-Feb-14 8:00am (Thursday) - he replies with all of the product info on 11-Feb-14 12:00pm (Tuesday) - Sat & Sun are days off but keep in mind that my Friday shift ends on sat at 4am so the networdays formula wont work.
I am trying to provide a tool for department leaders to monitor productivity for order processing in their departments. The variables I have are: Number of orders(variable), number of pickers (variable), start time(variable). Then, I know each order takes 1 picker 4 minutes to pick on average, and there are 45 minutes worth of breaks during the picking process. So after entering the variables I used =(((C3*4)/60)/D3) to come up with the time needed to process the orders. What I can't get to is how to add this number to the start time, factor in break minutes and get to the projected completion time. I have Excel 2003 at work. Clearly I need to take a class!
I am looking for a function to convert time given by my computer (Local time) in EST (Eastern Standard Time). We are several users of a same file (with timestamp macros) and all time need to be aligned to one time zone (EST), even if all users are working in different time zone (EST, CST and IST).
'light eligibility Dim facb As String Dim sunset As Variant [color=green]' check if facility has lights[color] facb = WorksheetFunction.VLookup(RID, ds, 10, False) 'find facility code If WorksheetFunction.VLookup(facb, fac, 6, False) = "Y" Then 'facility has lights sunset = WorksheetFunction.VLookup(tempws.Range("A9"), sun, 2, False) 'lookup the sunset time based on the record's date
[Code] ......
This code checks the need for lights at a facility.
It first checks to see if the facility even has lights by cross-referencing a value in the record with a facilities database.
If it has lights, it then checks to see if they are needed. If the rental goes past the sunset time, then it needs lights. Sunset is determined by cross-referencing the date value in sheet1! A9, with the sunset database.
If it needs lights, variable lghtson is calculated equal to "sunset"-30 minutes.
As I step through this code:
WorksheetFunction.VLookup(facb, fac, 6, False) = "Y" Facility has lights. Check to see if lights are needed. sunset = WorksheetFunction.VLookup(tempws.Range("A9"), sun, 2, False) sunset=0.879166666666667 which is 9:06PM. This is a proper value from the lookup. If rental_end.value > sunset Then rental_end (value from textbox) = "9:30 pm" , sunset=0.879166666666667. This is true, and Excel accepts it as true ... lghtson = sunset - 0.5 0.379166666666667 = 0.879166666666667 - 0.5 (9:06 AM)
This is not the value I was looking for. I was looking for 8:34PM (0.856944444444444)
I have a user form with textBox1 = start time (entered as "[h]:mm") and text Box2 = finish time (entered as "[h]:mm"). I would like textBox3 to display the difference between the start time and finish time as a general number!
For example Start time: 21:00 Finish time: 06:30 Hours worked: 9.50
I am trying to figure a way to search for a cell that has a specific date and time range. There are several cell titles pending on the activity. I want to find a cell that has a time ** 7:30-15:30 , 15:31-17:30, 17:31-20:30. The end result is to calculate the activity between those time periods based on the data cells.
Example
If the date searched time field ** the activity ranges is 1635 I need to split the time and credit the activity time in the 730-1530 time and the rest on the 15:31-17:30 time
I have been able to do it on a single labor group based on time alone, but when I try to add the DATE to it my numbers go null. Eventually i will need to add 11 labor groups daily for weeks at a time .
A client buys 500 minutes of my time. In one week I spend 340 minutes on the account. I'd like a column to show Time purchased (say 500 Minutes) Time spent and a final section showing time left (but showing negative values in red)
I hope I've explained this ok but here is an illustration of what I'm trying to achieve in Excel 2011.
