The way I have this set up right now is that data is being submitted by an Infopath Web Form and emailed to me, it produced an XML file with values for all the possible entries for each person but only certain departments are filling in certain blocks.
That XML file is uploaded into a worksheet and then I'm trying to process data off that table to get the information I'm needing. I'm trying to divide data if a certain piece of the formula matches (IF CCU & August then Divide F column on same line by G column on same line and display the result)
I'm also trying to ignore empty blocks which is where my problem is at. So far I've come up with
[Code].....
but that is only working if the data happens to match on the same line in the data table.
Added the excel workbook: patientdashboardexperience.xlsx
I am trying to create a formula which will look at the data in columns A - I (50 rows) and copy this data to columns K - S but ignoring any blank cells. Thereby consolidating the data in the upper rows with no spaces.
I have a large table about 2000 rows x 2000 columns (small extract below) and i need to get all the non-blank data out of it into just 3 columns ignoring any blank cells. Column A is the customer account number and the other columns contain the prices for the part numbers as described in row 1.
a/c - part no 002000 S01000 S01020 S01040 S01060 S01080
[Code] .......
What I need to end up with is list of Account/Part No./Price like this...
A/C Part No. Price 00017391 S01020 7.2100017391 S01060 10.4500017391
[Code] .........
There will be about 70,000 lines from the table I have.
I have a cell in my spreadsheet that is used to designate if the row needs to be hidden or not. If the user enter's "Y", the row is hidden. I need to check some of the previous cells for entered data before the row is hidden. If data is not entered in these cells I want the empty cell(s) to be filled with a color. The user will then have to enter a value into all the correct cells before the function to hide the row will work. What is the best way to do this? I am using the following function to check for the "Y" and hide the row.
I have a large number of sheets with data in the following general format:
x ..... y ............ z etc
A Unique value Unique value A Unique value Unique value B Unique value Unique value B Unique value Unique value C Unique value Unique value C Unique value Unique value D Unique value Unique value D Unique value Unique value E Unique value Unique value E Unique value Unique value
In seperate sheets, I want the following:
x y1 y2 A B C D E
x z1 z2 A B C D E
And so on for a number of columns - I always want column "x" with another column, however I want the two values for the same value of x to be next to each other, not above one another.
I have a VB codes to process the data from a file that located in the folder from directory. This VB will copy the data from the file and paste it into new workbook by clicking the command button. I want to modify this code in order to make VB can process the data from multiple file from multiple folders. Previously, I just write the code for one folder only. So now, I want to modifiy the codes in order to expand more folders. All the results will be pasted into the same workbook.
Private Sub cmdStart_Click() Application. ScreenUpdating = False Set outbk = Workbooks.Add Workbooks.Open "C:" & TextBox1.Value & "" & TextBox2.Value Sheets("bin_trip").Select With ActiveSheet
I have two sheets with a table on each. Sheet 1 table 1 has a row of data on jobs we are bidding. If we win the job there is a column where we input a job number. What I would like to happen is that when someone enters a job number in this column, it takes that number and the information that is in two other cells in the same row to table 2 on a sheet 2. This will give us a current jobs sheet. I am using Office365 but some users are using 07 maybe even 03.
The below code deletes blank columns in two work books. Now I would like to add to this code by performing an additional action on the worksheets. Below is the code that I have so far:
Sub Commandbutton2() Dim iCol As Long Dim Isheet As Long Dim Item As Worksheet Dim MFBooks(2) As Workbook Dim lngIndex As Long Set MFBooks(1) = Workbooks("MF BANK EXPOSURE SUMMARY.xls") Set MFBooks(2) = Workbooks("MF CP EXPOSURE SUMMARY.xls") For lngIndex = 1 To 2 For Each Item In MFBooks(lngIndex).Worksheets .....................
On my data tab I've got a column for "review date." Some of those cells are blank. When you go to the pivot table, the respective cell for that blank.review date cell displays the date 1/29/14. There is no data in the cell on the data tab, so why would it be displaying 1/29/14? I want it to either say "blank" or just be blank. It does this for every review date cell that is blank.
how to create a pivot table that does not skip through blank data cells. I have a pivot table with data for several dates, but not every date has a data point. I would want the pivot table to show all the dates with the blanks, rather than skip through the days with no data.
I have a table of data 300 rows long with protected formulas in adjacent columns and at the bottom of the column. Some of the data cells are blank but the non-blank cells are contiguous and start at the top of the range (see Before Example).
a macro that would allow users to insert a blank cell at any point in the data table without losing any of the other data or disrupting the formulas. In other words I want to move all the data from that point to the bottom of the range down by 1 row. A before and after example for a smaller 10 row data set is shown below.
Before
AB1data aformula 12data bformula 23data cformula 34data dformula 45data eformula 56data fformula 67 formula 78 formula 89 formula 910 formula 1011formula Aformula B
After
AB14data aformula 115data bformula 216data cformula 317data dformula 418data eformula 519 formula 620data fformula 721 formula 822 formula 923 formula 1024formula Aformula B
I have an Access application with a form containing an Excel chart based on a pivot table based on an Access query based on an Access table which is refreshed every 5 minutes using a Timer event. When the table is refreshed the Excel chart is refreshed. The chart monitors some processes and is active throughout the day. As the day progresses more and more data points are available for plotting on the x-axis. The x-axis labels get very crowded as the day progresses and I need to programmatically change the x-axis scale at various times of the day. To that end I am trying to find an event that is activated at some point during the automatic refresh of the chart/pivot table.
I have tried the Workbook_Change event, the Worksheet_Change event, and the Chart_SeriesChange event. None of these are executed during the refresh process or I have done something wrong in trying to use them. At the moment they only have a MSGBOX message in them so that I can determine if they are even being executed.
I've recorded some macros for completing formatting tasks and I'd like to know if there is a way of asking the macro to ignore sheets if there is no data.
The files are reports we export from our accounting system and they need to be tidied up, named and sorted. It's the sorting and subtotalling that is causing an issue because not every department has transactions every month. I'd like the macro to skip over sheets with no transactions and continue on.
I want to count back the last 6 cells in column S which has data (ignoring any blank cells) and add them up.
My data is ranging betwen S62:S143 (with S144 being the cell that I want to show the total for the last 6 cells with data). I have column headings and various other bits of data from S1:S61 that I want to exclude completely but need to keep for historical purposes.
Here is an example of some of the data in column S:
I have tried adding a negative and positive number on the end of the COUNTA formula but all it does is count all the cells within that given heigh range, not a specific number of cells with data.
I don't specifically need to use SUM. As long as I get a total.
I am building a large macro to filter/manipulate/format/organize data pasted into a Data Dump tab.
I am a VBA novice, and I recycled some code for a portion of the macro from infomation found on this board. I just discovered that my copy/paste section is ignoring the last row of data, which is a problem ....
I am wanting to have a sheet that I use for reporting based on another sheet in the workbook but I want to exclude items that are closed.
The first sheet will contain all rows of data with a status column of either Open, On Hold or Closed In the second sheet I only want to have listed the items which are Open or On Hold, I want to ignore the closed items.
In the example enclosed, I only want rows 2,4,6 and 7, but NOT 3 and 5 due to status.
I have a spreadsheet with a bunch of formulas in Cells B4:E100 in Sheet1. Many of the formulas will show up blank information in the event I do not have any data in Column A. I then have formulas which perform a similar function in Cells G4:Q100, S4:AC100, AE4:AO100 & AQ4:BA100.
What I need to do is to take the data from the last 4 sets of cells (G4:Q100, S4:AC100, AE4:AO100 & AQ4:BA100) and stack then one on top of the other into Sheet2 starting in Cell A2. I need the code however to be smart enough to realize that if there are blanks which exist in any of those sets of cells to skip over to the next set of data I which to copy and start pasting that set of information without leaving any blanks.
So far example, if I only have data between Cells A4:A25, I want the VBA code to go only through cells G4:Q25 and then start pasting without any spaces S4:AC25 and so on.
I'm trying to figure out if an employee is in probation period or not. I have this formula in S3 =IF(TODAY()-R3>90, "No", "Yes"). I need to leave S3 empty if no value in R3 (R3 contain hiring date)
I have a dynamic drop down validation List, which comes from another spreadsheet list and have a few random blank cells in it. I need to drop these blank values from the List without making any change in the parent list. I may also have some duplicate values in the List and need to drop them too.
I've got four columns of data. The first column contains pricing for a bunch of products from our company. The other three columns contain pricing for three other competitors. So for example:
In column G right after Comp3 Price I have an IF statement that says if Comp1 Price is less than Comp2 Price, Comp3 Price, and Our Price, to print "Comp3" in that cell. If it is not less than the comparable data, then check Comp2 Price then Comp3 price in the same fashion. If Comp1, Comp2, or Comp3 is not less than Our Price then print "My Company Name." This will allow me to see who has the lowest price for that product and also tell me if that lowest price is lower than our price.
My problem is that I can't get it to work out so Excel ignores blank cells. So for example, Comp3 has the lowest price amongst our competitors for hats and is also lower than ours. But when I check for Comp3 price being lower than Comp1 and Comp2, it comes back as negative because Excel sees those cells as zeroes even though they're blank. My formula is:
This would do exactly what I need Excel to do if it would ignore the blank cells. The problem is that Comp3 has pricing for hats because they offer hats, but comp1 and Comp2 don't offer hats at all, so naturally Comp3 has the lowest price; however, according to Excel Comp1 and Comp2 have the lowest price because the cells are blank and counted as zeroes.
So, does anyone know how to work this out so Comp3 will be counted as the lowest price for hats, ignoring the blank cells of Comp1 and Comp2?
I am trying to return the criteria MET, NOT MET & EXCEEDS. This works when each cell contains a number, but when one is blank the formula below returns "EXCEEDS" I'm guessing this is because is sees a blank as zero.
Basically I need to know how to make excel ignore the blank cell and not see it as zero thus returning "EXCEEDS". Although the cell values are integers they are derived from another cell using the following formula, I'm not sure if this makes any difference
I have a column with with Employee ID numbers, with anywhere from 2-5 blanks rows in between them. In another sheet I want a column that returns these ID numbers without the blank rows in between. All of the ID's begin with "N", for example:
I need to average the columns of data and ignore both hidden rows and zero values. I have tried writing if statements as well as the subtotal function. Both functions either ignore null values or hidden rows but not both.
The system wont let me update a sample workbook but Im wondering whether there is a formula or combo formula for this.
I have created a spreadsheet with 3 month inspection schedules on using the formula below.
=DATE(YEAR(C50),MONTH(C50)+3,DAY(C50))
I then copy this in to a cell where I want the date to appear... and then in to another cell where I want a further 3 month date to appear. Obviously changing the cell reference.
I would like the formula to ignore the very first cell "C50" if there is no date inputted in this cell.
I have created a drop down cell based on the cells in the first row of a particular table. Now when i select a particular cell from the drop down i want to fetch all the values in the respective column of the selected cell on to a different group of cells. While fetching the data to those group of cells, i want to ignore all the null, blank cells. All this actions shall be automated and shall happen simultaneously on selecting the drop down.
Using formula rather than VB, I would like to calculate the number of blank cells that appear in a column BEFORE the first active cell but exclude any blank cells that appear after the first active cell. To elaborate, I have sheets that contain the days of each month and I need to exclude for other calculation purposes, the number of days (cells) where no entry of data has been input at the beginning of a month, NOT after the first data entry. ie. September has 30 days.
The first data entry is the 10th and there are no entries (thus far) after the 10th, the result that I seek, will be 20 (although only one cell has data), being the days left in the month AFTER the first entry. I have looked at COUNT functions but cannot find an solution. Perhaps it's not possible using basic formula?
However, in some cases, the cell to be looked-up may be blank. Using the formula above, the result of these vlookups is "0". I want to take the average of these vlookups excluding the blanks from the 'Raw Data' sheet.
