Let me explain, I am trying to auto generate a list. So I have one cell A1 with value "ABC"In another sheet,

I have a list of products in cells A:1 to A:100 and "ABC" is one of them, but is there 4 times. I have value in B:1 to B: 100

What I need is to create a list of all the values in Colum B that are related to "ABC"

Colum A Colum B
ABC 10
ABC 20
ABC Test

Based on "ABC", I need a list to generate a list:

I try Arrays and VLookup and Match and index but they are all single data return.

Generating A Combinations List

I have ten numbers (i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) and I'm trying to figure out how to make Excel generate a list of all the combinations possible for these 10 numbers. I'm trying to avoid using a VBA script. Is it possible to accomplish this task only using a function formula? This way I will have the ability to tweak the formula and test different qauntities of numbers (i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 44,56,77,33). Is getting a list of all possible combinations to output on a single column with commas between numbers possible with a formula?

Generating Random Number List

I have a spreadsheet of 1000+ companies and I want to take a random sampling of 100 of them. I would assume this could be accomplished by auto-filling a numerical value to each line of data (which I did), then scrambling only the column with the numbers (which I can't figure out), and then selecting the entire text and resorting it to put the numbers back in order and then just work with the first 100 rows (which I can do, if I knew how to make the numbers random).

I coordinate access requests for several contracts, and I have to list the approved accesses in a list where each line represents one person and one contract. For each access request, there will be an arbitrary number of persons obtaining access to an arbitrary number of contracts.

The input would then be as follows: Joe A and Jill B request access to contracts 1001, 1002 and 1003 ->

Joe A   1001
Joe A   1002
Joe A   1003
Jill B     1001
Jill B     1002
Jill B     1003

To automate this task, I have made a simple macro for generating a combination list of all persons having obtained access to a selection of contracts.

My macro worked well when I only wanted to list unique and independent list items, but now I have been asked to include each person's email address. How I can change my code so that only one email address is copied into my list for each person?

Generating Average From Group Of Numbers In List That Match Two Criteria?

So we had a month long, company paid (woohoo!) "weight watchers" challenge. On 1 worksheet ("Stats"), I have the Name of every Employee (A Column), then their Start Weight (B Column), End Weight (C Column), Department (D Column) and finally Location (E Column).

I know how sensative some people can be about their weight, so I locked the page and created another worksheet named "UI", which will display the "Average End Weight" for each department. So Human Resources would be the department in cell A2 on the UI sheet, with City 1 being the Column Header in cell B1. There are 8 cities (offices) and 23 departments.

So, for cell B2, I want to scan through the "Stats" worksheet and locate all of the cells in the department and location columns that read "Human Resources" and "City 1" respectively. Then grab the "End Weight" for every row that meets these 2 criteria, add them up, and divide by the number of "End Weights" that were grabbed.

My solution would be to make a separate column for each department (and then each city, so essentially 8 columns to represent all the cities for each department), use a nested (maybe 4) IF statements to then list only the end weight if that particular row meets the criteria, then at the bottom of each separate column, add all the shown numbers up and divide, then draw the information from THAT number into the "Average" cell on the UI worksheet. But it isn't very dynamic and if i want to use this sheet next year, there will be more employee info to be added and it would be a mess..further more, it would be...what...23 Departments x 8 Cities x 155 employees = ~28,500 added cells.

For simplicity sake, let's assume that the range spans cells A1 to A20, and the list is generated in cells B1 to B5. So, essentially, I am seeking five separate formulas. Is there a way to generate a normal curve from just the statistical values (mean, std dev, etc)? I used the NORMDIST function but have to manually do the x values and it generates what I would descirbe as a "sample" curve. I would like to make one based on user input.

Dynamically Select List Object Name?

I have a workbook with three sheets:

-"DB" database sheet containing multiple tables (20 to be exact, named as "CityA", "CityB", etc.)

-"Threat Data" reference sheet containing a "City_Ref" table with the list of tables names in the "DB City ID" column and the unique city name assigned to each table in the "City" column (the city name is populated in a "City" column of each table in the database sheet).

-a dashboard sheet containing an interactive userform for which to populate the database tables.

In this userform, there are two comboboxes:

-a "CbxCity" combobox which lists all the city names from a "City" column in the "City_Ref" reference table

- a "CbxAsset" combobox which should automatically list all the values in the "Asset" column of the selected city table based on "CbxCity"

My issue lies in filling "CbxAsset" based on the selection in "CbxCity" ; how do I dynamically select a ListObject name based on a selection?

The code I am working with is:

In the CbxCity_Change() sub, I am not sure how to name the ListObject and my code currently gets an error at r = Me.CbxCity.Value

Which is strange because that is showing the selected city name when I run the cursor over the bug.

This is a complex sheet, so I won't go into everything I'm doing, but really just the part I need help with. Instead of trying to explain it abstractly, I'll use a a concrete example (you'll need to look at the sheet to understand this).

The general idea is that I results from an online ad campaign (ie I ran ad X on site Y in position Z), and - given the results I have - try to optimize which ads I run where. Each in the real data (row 167 and below) represents a 'space' where an add can be run.

First, row 551:
The original recommendation is in Column T, which is Brand "Buddies" (column V). The total # so far for brand "Buddies" (col W) is less than the limit, so Column X = 0, and the updated recommendation (Column Y) is just the original recommendation from Column T.

Now, row 552, (the condition I'm having trouble with)
The original recommendation is in Column T, which is Brand "Pink" (column V). The total # so far for brand "Pink" (col W), however, is now OVER the limit, so Column X = 1. This means that excel now needs to search all of the creatives (in column E), filter out all the ones that don't match the size of the current creative in question (ie that are not of size 300x250 - E551), ALSO filter out any creatives of brands that have already hit their limit (in this example, brand "2-in-1" has already hit it's limit, as you could check by looking at X537), THEN, from the remaining creatives (ie those of size 300x250 and not of brand pink OR of brand 2-in-1), select the creative with the highest value in Column AI).

Convert List To Table And Stay Updated Dynamically?

I have a list or log that is updated by a number of people on a sharepoint file. The list consists essentially of 2 columns - lets call them Location and Date.

The Locations are populated from a pulldown list but can be repeated a number of times throughout the list. I have the list set up using Table Formatting so the range updates dynamically

Site3 8/3
Site4 8/5
Site2 8/6
Site2 8/7
Site3 8/8

As this list gets items added to it I want to populate a summary table on another sheet showing the dates each site was visited like this...

(Had to add dashes above to get the X's spaced out properly)

I'm competent with lookups and such but I imagine this needs an array formula or some index/match combination which I'm a little weak on.

The solution should also not require any updating as the source list is updated periodically.

I have a list which references different named ranges. It either needs to display the values in a graph as a number (without decimals) or a percentage depending on the source. Is this possible? Maybe with some VBA? Or am I asking too much from excel?

I'm trying to use data validation to restrict the user to only selecting values in a list which I create. Right now, the list is a named range. I'd like to get rid of the range and just use a named list. I create a name using the following as my list.

When I try to use the name Fruit in my data validation, I get the message "The List Source must be a delimited list, or a reference to single row or column." I thought my name "fruit" was a delimited list.

I have some data with recurring key values and differing values in the second column, I need to produce a unique list of key values with the second values concatenated together.(See below)

The data can be 10 rows to 5000 and I can have anything from 5 to 150 sheets (Separate data sets), a macro would go a long way to keeping me sane.

Look Up List Values Between Two Values; List Row Contents

Sheet2 contains various data, including one column of dates.

What I would like to do is populate Sheet1 with functions that search Sheet2 for date values between two separate date values on Sheet1 (cells F1 and G1). When a match is found on Sheet2, row contents from Sheet2 should populate on Sheet1.

In addition, I would like the functions only to match listings in which the value in column E on Sheet2 is greater than zero.

I have attached a sample workbook that illustrates the structure of the worksheets and the desired results. Looking forward to finding a good solution.

Formula For Obtaining List Of Unique Values But Not Including Values Which Contain IC

1. Using a formula, I am trying to to obtain a list of unique values (string) (caveat: see #2) from the range E2:E10000 (arbitrarily chose 10000 - the row number is variable)(see #3).

I currently have a formula that seems to work for this purpose but I don't know how to add the condition in #2 (below)

2. To include all unique string values except those starting with the letters "IC"

3. Is there a way to make this formula so that it can only seek values up to the last row, and not go to the 10000th row if not necessary? The E column has no empty cells until after the last row that contains data.

Any way to improve/simplfy this formula for the purpose describbed in #1? How can I add the condition in #2? Can you see a way to include #3? The most important issue here is #2.
