Excel 2007 :: Populate Userform Combobox With Named Dynamic List
Aug 21, 2014
Excel 2007 and very new to VBA...
I have a userform (named "QAReviewForm") with a combobox (named "cboSupName"). I want it to populate with my named range "SupList".
FYI, the SupList is found on sheet 2, "Administrative Menu" in column E. E1 contains the heading "Supervisors", and my named range formula is
Formula:
[Code ] .....
When it runs, my form opens and the combobox is there, but nothing appears as options for me to select (yes, I have some values in column E).

I'm trying to add a dynamic named range to a combo box in Userform but getting this error.
Have tried several lines of code this being the last that hasn't worked . . . .
Code:
CustCBx.RowSource = Range("CustList").Value
This is the formula for the named range in sheet
Code:
='Customer Info'!$J$2:INDEX('Customer Info'!$J2:$J200,COUNTA('Customer Info'!$J2:$J200))

I am trying to populate a listbox in a userform using a dynamic list of data in column Y or worksheet "varhold".
Here is my code:
Code:
Private Sub Userform2_Initialize()
With UserForm2.listbox1
RowSource = ThisWorkbook.Sheets("varhold").Range("offset($y$1,0,0,counta($y:$y),1)")
.BoundColumn = 1
.ColumnHeads = False
.ColumnCount = 3
End With
End Sub
When I run this procedure, the box is blank. There is no list.

I have an Excel 2007 Workbook which is refreshed by a Web Query. I have dynamic named range defined as "Manager" which I've confirmed is correctly identified. This range includes only one column and is formatted as text.
When I try to reference this range in my conditional formatting "refers to" formula, all cells are recognized as blank even though the range clearly contains many cells that are not. For example, there are 90 records containing the initials "PD". If I use the formula =Manager="PD" in my conditional formatting, nothing changes. If I change it to =Manager="" then ALL records are formatted, including those that are not blank.
Stranger still, if I enter the formula =COUNTIF(Manager,"PD") into and empty cell in my worksheet those 90 records are counted correctly. Which leads me to believe it isn't about the data. Conversely, =COUNTIF(Manager,"") returns the correct count of only cells that are, in fact, blank.
I've tried using the OFFSET formula defining my range in place of the name itself for my conditional format formula to no avail.

I use
Set rnData = ActiveSheet. Range("ProductList")
vaData = rnData.Value
With Me.model
.Clear
.List = vaData
.ListIndex = -1
End With
to populate a combobox list. 'ProductList' is a Dynamic Named Range with the definition
=OFFSET(Stock_List!$L$2,0,0, COUNTA(Stock_List!$L:$L)-1,1)
The '-1' allows for a heading at the top of the column.
This works fine when the list in col. L has more than one entry under the heading. But with only one entry I get 'Runtime error 381 - Could not set the List property, Invalid property array index' and the debug highlights on
.list=vaData

[URL]....When I select a name in column B, it populates column C's dropdown with that name's list of units. When I select a unity type in column C, I'd like it to automatically populate column E in the same row with the value associated with that unit. The values associated with a particular unit can be found to the right of the sheet. So if in row 2 I select Blake in column B, then Unit 5 in column C, I'd like column E to be populated with 14.
Edit: using Excel 2007.
I attached stripped down version of the sheet which is small enough to post. None of the things I removed should affect the topic at hand. The full sheet is available at rapidshare.

I have a combo-box in a Multipage control. Now I want to get the combo-box populated with list in 2 columns from 2 different consecutive columns from the same worksheet (Product List). Now, Once the list gets populated, user will be selecting his choice from the list, which is then needs to get copied to another worksheet (Order Placed). Both worksheets exist in the same or one spreadsheet.
I am trying to make it work with the following code. I am able to see 2 columns but with no data getting populated. I am working in MS Excel 2007.

I have a sheet containing 2 lists of categories for income and expenses. These lists are named inc and exp, respectively, and are contained in a sheet called "Lists." They are dynamic ranges, meaning every time a value is added, the named range adjusts itself to include the new value(s). [=OFFSET(Lists!$A$1,0,0,COUNTA(Lists!$A:$A),1)]
I have 2 tables summarizing 12 months of data. The tables use sumif to find all occurrences of each category and sum them. There's 1 table for income, 1 for expenses. Each is a 2 column table, with all the categories for income in column A and their total for 12 months in column B. Same for Expenses in D & E.
To populate the categories in column A & D, I am currently using the simple =Lists!A1 =Lists!A2 (inc range), =Lists!B1 =Lists!B2 (exp range) and so on... the problem is when a value is added to either list, while the named range adjusts, I have to manually drag the formulas in Column A & B down 1 more cell to include the new value.
How can I use VBA to look for the inc and exp ranges (which will change in size), then populate each table with the most recent categories?

I want it to populate a combobox in a userform. Should it go in the code segment for the userform, in a module, or some other place? The following is code I originally found (by Leith Ross of this board) to find the last row in column "A", and load the combo box "ComboBox1"

My Userform with combobox entries for product checks against the rowsource and if not on the list, is added to the list. the list is a named range in a Table that is used in a data model.
No matter which way I try I am regularly getting a corruption in the table that is home to the named range which is the rowsource... after one or two entries from the userform.
The rowsource is not bound to the worksheet, it is populated at userform_initialize procedure. (There are 4 combobox drawing from same rouwsource hence the loop through to check each)
debug points to the line at which conbobox value is being entered into the rowsource, though not always - it sometimes just crashes the whole file and everything needs restarting, upon which the table is fine and entry is evident.
I have tried resize, addrow to bottom of table variations and all result in the same core problem of a table corruption that crashes the file.

I am trying to populate (via VBA) a textbox/combo box from one user form to another user form.
The first user form has a room number in a text box1. If certain conditions exists, a button is selected to bring up another user form (both forms are modeless).
I want to pass/populate some of the 1st user Form info into the other user form.
I have tried the on initialize textbox1.value = textbox other.value but no dice. I can populate a user form text box from a spreadsheet but from box to box in separate user forms has me a little stumped.

A textbox on a userform is populated through cell references which have formulas. Works OK. I want to change this by getting rid of the formulas in the cells and have the textbox populated by a name. The following formula is entered in the "Refers To" box =DEGREES(ATAN(RADIANS(ATAN2(Sht1!$G$34-Sht1!$G$33,Sht1!$H$34-Sht1!$H$33)))*(LastDep-Sht1!$G$33))+Sht1!$H$33
The name is "TopLine" (without quotation marks) When I enter =TopLine anywhere in the worksheet, it gives me the proper answer. I have been trying to populate the textbox with "TopLine" but without success. I tried a listbox but that doesn't work either. I have exhausted the search possibilities (I think).

I'm trying to link combo box's on a user form to a hidden workbook. I placed the workbook into
C:Users[User Name]AppDataRoamingMicrosoftExcelXLSTART
Then hide the worksheet which essentially hides the workbook as only 1 sheet is present in workbook. This should make the workbook available every time a user opens Excel
Now when i initialize the form i get an error
Run-time error '1004': Method 'Range' of object'_Global failed
However when i unhide the worksheet the form runs fine. Do i need to declare the combo boxes differently than shown below The range "Tools" does exist on the hidden workbook.

I have a userform to be populated with data from a dynamic table for purposes of showing users their daily stats. The data is populated on the worksheet in the following way- ..............
When the userform is pulled up, it needs to show the following details -
UserName - User1
Workitem 2 : 12
Workitem 3 : 7
As the work items go all the way to 65, I wanted to only show the work items that had actually been worked on by each person - What I am struggling with is how to populate the textboxes on the userform with this data - without getting into an absolute mess of if statements -
If Range(WorkItem1Range).Value <> "" Then
userformStats.WorkItemA= Range("a2").Value..........

I have dynamic named range that lists by columns. I can use this with data validation pull down on my worksheet and all is fine. But when I use this named range in the RowSource of a combo box in a userform, I only get the first column of data, or basically, the data in B1, but not C1, D1, ect. Here is the formula for the named range.
=OFFSET(INFO!$B$1,0,0,1,COUNTA(INFO!$1:$1)-1)

I have a userform which inputs data based upon a chosen item from a combobox. Combobox3 pulls numerical items from Rows17 and below in columnA of active worksheet. The first problem I am having is that the combobox itself is cutting numerical numbers short. Items go out to the thousandths (ex. 1.001) but in cases where there is a "0" at the end of the decimal it abbreviates it (ex.1.01) is there anyway to fix this? The second issue is I would like to populate "Textbox4" with the columnC content of the item chosen. (Ex. User choses Item 1.001 (found in row118) then Textbox4 would = the value of C18) Below is the current code utilized for this userform.

I need to populate a combo box on a form with the column name (A,B,C...etc) and the first row data. I need the code to check all columns in-case of missing column data.
Its important to note the data will be dynamic. In my add in, a form opens on requests and asks the user which column he needs to action data on. this could be on any one of several non similar spreadsheets.
E.G.: Combox to hold the following data (see column D has no data or header row):
Column A - Date
Column B - Rep
Column C - Customer
Column D -
Column E - Product
How can i pass this info to the form ?

What these line of code mean (the ones in red).
Code:
Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()
Dim v, e
With Sheets("maintenance").Range("c2:c500")
v = .Value
End With
With CreateObject("scripting.dictionary")

Note : I simple tried to check the value of v by giving msgbox (v), just below the line v = .Value.
But I got run-time error 13 : Type mismatch error.

Populate Adv Filter Criteria from Inputbox with valid data
I've set up a macro to extract 3 different sets of data using Advanced Filter (same data range, different criteria & extract ranges)
There are multiple options (different individual dates) to satisfy the criteria (a date) for each of the 3 extracts and I want the user to select the criteria (a specific date) from the range of unique values in the data range upon which the Advanced Filter criteria is going to be applied. (A bit like the effect provided by Autofilter)
My initial attempt was to capture the criteria date from the user and populate a cell, and then have a vlookup function in another cell check if that crieteria value exists in the specified range. I then ran a loop in the VBA code until the value is valid (ie. exists in the range). However, to streamline this I was hoping to allow the user to see a list of the valid (available) dates when they respond to my Inputbox request for the criteria.

I am trying to work up a referral tracker for my wife's employer. I have Named Ranges on sheet 2, a running log on sheet 1. I also have a userform that is being populated from the ranges on sheet 2. I have the project mostly functional, except for a feature I would like to add in. I am interested in adding to the named range that is being accessed if the entry is not in list, via the combobox1 on the userform. Also, if possible, I would like the list to re-sort behind the scenes so the added entry is properly located in A-Z format for next time. After searching the web a bit, I found some code that might work with some tinkering, but currently I am having issues with it. Here is the bit I am trying to use.
[Code] ....
I have been getting 424 Object Errors and a few others as I continue to mess with this. I am also attaching the project if someone may see a better way of getting the task accomplished. The overall scope of this is to log all referral sources so monthly and yearly reports could be made.

Is there an easy way to populate a combobox with a list of directories on the hard drive?
I want to create a way for a user to specify a file without having to type in the full address by hand.
I would like to start in the c:/ root and list the directories in one combobox and the excel files in another combobox. Then if they select say "desktop" it displayes the directories in "c:/desktop" and the excel files contained there in. Then if they click test it does directories in "c:/desktop/test" and so on.

I want to start a new thread about this issue - it was previously listed on an old thread but slightly different topic: refer[url].
The problem is I have lots of Dynamic Named Ranges using formulae such as the following:
=OFFSET(RptPg!$F$9,0,0,MATCH("*",RptPg!$B$9:$B$200,-1),1)
. These named ranges are created in the Name Manager box and the code inserted in the RefersTo: box.
The ranges seem to work well and are dynamic as required. When I click on the range selector button against the RefersTo formula fo rthe range the range is correctly highlighted.
However, the range is not selectable from the F5(GoTo) command.
This then means for certain VBA operations, the range cannot be found and returns an error (Object not defined etc)
Is there anyway I can correct this or work around this - dynamic ranges are at the heart of my large workbook and fundamental to its performance>

I have a dynamic named range which allows me to have an automatically growing drop down list in B1 as more cities are added in column A. however, my workbook will have N/A errors to begin with before cities are added.
is there a way for my drop down list in B1 not to include the N/A errors and only the cities? of course when the next N/A error turns into a city, i would like the B1 drop down list to recognise this and include it.
