Excel 2010 :: Breaking Data Links To Another Workbook

I am running a macro-enabled Excel 2010 file, and there is a link to another workbook that pops up every time I open it asking if I want to update. I have searched formulas and pages, and can't find where it's linking from. I searched the VBA module I've been working in, and I can't find the link. When I click Data->Edit Links->Break Links and confirm, nothing happens. It still shows up as linked, and still prompts me to update next time I open it. I'd really like to get this data link severed.

I have this text at J22 and i would like to break out 13 and 95 000 out of this:
<td><span>13</span></td><td class=""right_align""><span>0-0-2</span></td><td class=""right_align""><span>95 000
The numbers and lenght of the numbers where 13 and 95 000 are may vary in lenght. I need them to parse the values at those spots to separate cells.

I have researched a problem I am experiencing in Excel 2010 and have had problems in the past with previous versions. It seems that occasionally I run across a link that just refuses to break. During my research I have found some reports that this may be linked to the "Name" function. !!!Bing!!! the light comes on. When I copied my template to my new folder and tried to cut and paste data into it I got a message saying something like "A formula or sheet you want to move or copy contains the name "...", which already exists on the destination worksheet." and I opted to replace the existing name with the new one.
Apparently I created an external link at that point and one that cannot now be broken unless I delete my named range and start over the naming process. I mention this here because I see lots of people having this problem and the stock answer is to goto the Edit Links menu and attempt to break the link. Try as they and I might, this doesn't work. I also saw a post about it being a phantom validation problem and that too panned out although I can see how the validation could be linked externally and create this problem.
Does this accurately describes the issue and is there a remedy besides re-creating the "Names"?

For three years I've created a workbook (A) that is dependent on another workbook (B) I upkeep. When I open (A), I Edit Links and update the location to my newest weekly file to map from (B). For my 2014 (A) book, I did the same process, but when I update the values, all the links break. Only when I open up (B) with (A) will the values appear.
As a short term solution, I saved (A) with the values in there and disabled the prompt to update values, so others can see the data. This isn't a feasible long term solution since updates will be made weekly, and not everyone will want to open up (B) just to update (A).

I have a consolidation workbook with many tabs. Each tab has many links to 8 data workbooks.
I would like to eliminate the links in all of the tabs of the consolidation workbook to half of the data workbooks.
I am using Excel 2007.
I tried Data/Edit Links, and selected one workbook, but when I hit Break Link, it broke the links to ALL the data workbooks.

I am working on a project that involves copying data from one sheet to another, then breaking all links to the original sheet. This part of the program is working fine. The problem comes when I try to put borders around the used range of cells in the new sheet. I want the border to only go down to the last row that contains text in column A.
Currently, the program is putting a border around all the cells that have text plus those that originally contained links (all the links are not always used). So even though I have removed the links from the new sheet, usedrange still includes these extra rows. This is no good for printing, since the links spill over to page two and I dont want that second page to print if there is no data.
So I basically need to know how to fix the problem with usedrange, or instead need a way of specifying the last row that contains text in column A. I have done a search on this and tried a number of different things, however none have worked so far.

I have a master workbook (that I will call 'A') with a number of links to other workbooks ('B' to 'Z'). 'A' is designed to collate and display the data held in workbooks 'B' to 'Z'. The links all work fine until the 'B' to 'Z' workbooks are updated with new data, at which point, the links break with a "Error: source not found" error.
This is caused by the process by which we update the 'B' to 'Z' workbooks. We have to delete them, and replace them with new files, that have the same name.
Is there any VBA code or something that I could run that will update the links to pick up the new files?

It seems to be working, but if i go step by step (f8) it updates values but sometimes after closing the source workbook and updating next one, the previously updated values disappear...

I am using Excel 2010 on Windows 7.
I copied (with 'Paste Link') rows from a master Excel file to a file that performs calculations. This file (and many others like it) need to be modifed by other people. My tester has informed me that the data is not updating between the files for her, although it does work for me.
When I check 'Data->Edit Links' it shows the status of the file as 'unknown'. If I click 'Check status' it is then OK, but the next time I look at it, it has reverted to 'unknown'.
1. How do I get the status to remain at OK?
2. Why do the links work for me, but not for my end users?

Windows 8.1, Excel 2010. I have this code that updates the links. I use it in various workbooks, but they are all going to the same document; "Data Master (QC"

When I change computers, I have to manually tell each document where to fine the linked document. I want the documents being linked to look for the file path in a designated cell, i.e Cell E3 = "C:UsersOwnerDocuments1-QCDataData Master (QC).xlsm".

Upon opening after "Enable" is selected the workbook attempts to locate several nonexistent pieces of data, either internet based files or network based files. Requested data appears to be about 11 years old and would not be applicable it located.
Edit Links shows the location of the requested files, i.e., E:filename but does not show the location within the document that causes this request. A search for "E:" does not locate text in any worksheets.
The question is how to delete or turn off this problem which slows opening, saving, and recalculation of a large multiple worksheet workbook.

I am using Excel 2010. I am digging through a workbook with 80-some worksheets. There is one worksheet with 11 data tables. When the workbook refreshes, there is a note at the bottom saying something about 21 data tables. I am not sure where the other 10 are. In an online post, someone said that the Name Manager should show them. But in Name Manager, when I filter on Tables, the list goes blank, and all the icons are the same for the other named ranges. Is there another way to find the data tables?

I have two workbooks I am using. Essentially I am copying values out of one workbook, opening a second workbook, manipulating data and pasting it. Everything is working great but one issue! The first workbook has named ranges in it that I don't want in the second workbook (just values). I don't want them because when I try this operation the second time it asks if I want to use the same name or choose a different name. For some reason it is still copying over all the named ranges (all 343 of them!). Is there a way to not allow it to do that or simply just delete the names before I close the second workbook?

I built a template which pulls data from the source file using formulas. the problem is formulas doesn't give any error it updates the right value when the source workbook is open.
I Thought problem could be with the formula and tried just Source A1=destination A1. it also updates only if the source file is open. when the source file is closed it shows the last captured value.
The source file is on the (Work) Network Drive and is accessible to few people. my template is password protected (tabs) so formulas cannot be deleted.

I cannot make this work in XL2010.
I am opening a second workbook in ReadOnly in the Workbook Open and Closing it in the Workbook BeforeClose.
I don't EVER want to save changes on either workbook.
I need to leave excel open as the macro created a 3rd workbook which the user will need.

Basically, I'm looking to populate the blank cells in the PartNumber column (Sample_List) by looking at the data in Column1, Column2, Column3 then going to the Master_List, matching up Column1, Column2, Column3. I've created a chart in sheet 1 in a workbook. I want to copy and paste that chart into another sheet (lets take sheet 2) of the same workbook. I am using Excel 2010 version.

I used the button in Excel 2010 to record a macro that allows me to format a workbook font and stuff because i do that many times a day for several workbooks. However I want to be able to just push a button and have all open workbooks run the macro I recorded.
I am able to make a button- thats easy, but how do I get it to run for ANY workbook? My problem is that apparently it only runs the workbook that is named a certain way. should i post the code here?

In order to unfilter a workbook before saving, that is often left by the users with filters on, I use the following code:

We have recently converted to Office 2010 from 2007 I have now got a name conflict with some macros on my templates
I have some code which will open up the affected templates delete the required modules & import the amended modules, this is working OK.
I now have to re assign the new macro to each button on all pages on all my templates., I started of by recording the actions to achieve this (see part of the code), but unfortunately the recorded code will not work, it runs but when I test the buttons I get the message that "this macro does not exist in this work book".

My macro cleans up data in worksheet "Chalkboard".
After cleanup, I'd like to copy data and select the last sheet in the workbook (the one on the far right) and paste the data.
The last worksheet changes monthly: Jan Feb Mar Apr, etc.... Meaning each month, I'll add a new worksheet for the given month.

Windows 8.1 Excel 2010, I open a Template, make some changes in the template then I want to save the modified template as a Template ".xltm" under a new name. I'm using the following code for the new workbook name (which works except for the file extension);
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:=ChkLst_TEXT_path & Application.PathSeparator _
& "NewChkLsts" & Application.PathSeparator & ShtNm
By default it saves the workbook as ".xlsm". How can I get it to save it as ".xltm"?

I believe that someone showed me once that you could view the same workbook on two monitors with the vien arrange all mode, you could make changes on both screens and the changes would be saved to the same file similar to arranging two views. I cannot rememebr how to do this or even if it is possible.

I have a workbook with a tab for each day of the month. This workbook is placed in a shared file and used by various yards in different locations. A new yard beginning the process is refusing to use it because due to formulas we must lock the workbook (contains many formulas and a live clock macro to track trip time) and they cannot sort A-Z. The sheets are labeled 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and so on to 31. I know that you can write a Macro to allow sorting, but I cannot get it to work. the users CANNOT know the password due to hidden revenue etc. and formulas.
