Excel Macro To Create New Workbook Based On Category In List With Respective Sheets
Apr 27, 2014
I need new workbooks based on category name in the below list. Respective sheets should be copied from the existing workbook with items as sheet names. List can be updatable.
I had created a base data with evaluator and performance appraisals templates which should be sent to each evaluator for filling up the forms based on templates
Next,
Macro that would i require will be
Where in my base data if i select filter of "Arun", i will performance appraisal templates in column I. Next, i have sheets individually created templates which refer column I
So, based on arun filter if i select, it should create a new workbook for arun and six individual sheets of employees reporting to him with a base data and appraisal templates similarly if i select anita in filter , it should create a new workbook for anita and six individual sheets of employees reporting to her with a base data and appraisal templates
I have a spreadsheet which has all the names of trips from a warehouse, the day that they operate (1,2,3 etc) and the job line allocated to each trip. It looks something like that:
A B C DAYTRIPCUST
I would like to create a macro that will be creating 7 new workbooks and then in those workbooks as many sheets as the trips. In these sheets, the customers should be displayed.
How do I write it? I could not find how to have a "dynamic choice" in the macro. I.e. not to have the criteria as "1", "trips1" but to choose from the range of inputs that are available.
I have spent a good amount of time trying to create the below using botched IF functions, SUMIFS, SUMIF formulas etc.
Basically I have a sheet (called Sheet1) with the following columns: A - Date (by individual day DD/MM/YYYY) B - A catagory (so using the old example, Apples, Orange, Pears) C - Price.
I would like to be able to create a formula, whereby I can sum the Total sales for each catagory across each month onto a summary sheet (sheet2).
I would use pivot tables, however am not sure how i can make all the require data appear permanently in the best way, especially if there is a one liner that can be done more easily. So far I have managed to create a sum dependent on month, but have been unable to encorporate the catagory.
I am after some code to create a new worksheet called 'xxxx' in my workbook, and then list all the sheets within the workbook (excluding the newly created 'xxxx' sheet.)
I have lots of DVDs and decided to catalogue them using Excel 2010. I made use of 3 Sheets. In Sheet 3 there are 2 lists: Category (PG, M18, General, Adult) and Language (English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish). Sheet 2 contains the data under the following headings: Title, Category, Language, Genre. I used Sheet 1 to create a drop down list for selecting a Title and then the information of the title are displayed, that is, its category, language and genre (I used vlookup). This is working fine.
Then I created another drop down list for Category. I want to be able to select a category, such as M18, and then a list of titles that fall under this category will be displayed. However, when I tried using vlookup with index, I failed to get the display of titles.
I am aware of the Visio capabilities of importing data into the org chart wizard to create an organization chart. Is there a similar capability in Excel only? I know there are smart art org diagrams, but if I have a spreadsheet of several hundred people, is there a way to import it into a chart (again, similar to the Visio process).
Typical user OS will be Windows XP Pro / Win 2K Excel version : 97 / 2002 / 2003
1. Corporate network security settings will only allow directory/subdirectory creation in the “My Documents” section of customers individual computers.
2. Per customer request, VBA application needs to save extracted files for future use.
3. I can specify an initial “My Documents” subdirectory be made and the VBA application file be loaded/copied into that location – i.e. – “My DocumentsCat”.
4. When VBA application is opened from that specified directory, (first time), the application needs to make an additional subdirectory tree to save future files. I can read the opened from location via VBA with the following:
Dim filepath As String filepath = ThisWorkbook.Path As an example – this code would produce a string definition of “filepath” – such as the following:............................
"How to create a 'main' macro to control other macros within a workbook". I have my individual macros created. There's one macro for each sheet that searches online data and returns the information. I have one of these per sheet (a total of 20 sheets) since I couldn't find a way to have all 20 macros be on one sheet and still work. My trouble is that whenever I'm on my 'main' sheet and try to run the macro which applies to a 'secondary' sheet, I get an error. I have to select the sheet first, then run the macro and it works. Below is the macro on each sheet.
VB: Sub Holding1() Dim DataSheet As Worksheet Dim EndDate As Date [code].....
My problem is to create a macro that will list all folders, subfolders and files in an order in excel. So that I know which folders and files belong to which main folder, more like a hierarchy.
For example, Sourcefolder Subfolder 1 File1
I have code that list all files in folders and subfolders, but it does not put them in a hierarchy fashion.
I have been tasked with creating a macro which creates a new workbook wherein each sheet contains the information for one site from the active sheet. The active sheet already has the values sorted by the site such that all information needing to be copied from the active sheet into the new workbook is together.
I.E.
ATL ATL ATL ATL CEN CEN JCK JCK etc.
There are 8 different sites on the active sheet: ATL, CEN, DAL, HAR, JAS, JCK, VIS, NOV
The macro needs to find the range for all of the data of each site and copy/paste that data into a new workbook such that ATL would have its own sheet, CEN would have its own sheet, and so on. The data ranges from A:R.
So, for example, the macro would find that the last row with ATL in the "B" column is 6095 and would then copy A2:R6095 and insert that data into the new workbook under Sheet 1.
I had some code that I had adapted to select the range for each of them, but the code loops through the entire sheet (which is 44,307 rows long) for each site making it a quite clunky and very slow step in an even longer macro. Since the data is already sorted, I know there must be a way to have the macro stop searching when it reaches data not equal to the data the row before, however, my experience with VBA is limited, and I have been unable to find a solution. Also, the data does not have to be conserved after being sent to the new workbook, if that would speed up the macro.
Now what I am looking to do is search my spreadsheet for specific criteria and then copy and paste these rows of information to a new sheet.
In my first spreadsheet that I am using as a database, I want to be able to select any entry from the month and copy it to another spreadsheet named for that criteria.
In other words, I want to find every entry for January, copy just that data's rows and paste them to the January spreadsheet, February to February, etc. My date fields are in column A.
I also want to do the same with representatives names found in column B.
This will break down the data for each rep and each month. Using the filter, then copy and pasting would be cumbersome.
I need to be able to export a project list to Excel and overwrite the contents in an existing Summary Report with the exported list. Is this possible? I am using SharePoint 2013 and Excel 2010.
Macro for creating new excel work book based on Partner names.
I have a master file which contains 3 worksheets - 1 - Code Summary 2 - Labor 3 - Expense
On column "T" of code summary tab I have a list of Sales Partners. So I want a macro which will create a new workbook for every single Sales partner on Column "T" of code summary tab along with corresponding data from column A:T on code summary tab.
The macro should also take data from the other 2 tabs Labor and Expense for the respective Sales Partners. On Labor tab the partner info is on column "Y" and on Expense tab the partner info is on column "M". So the new file should be renamed after the Sales Partner and have 3 worksheets just like the master file.
Basically I have a master file which has data for all Sales Partners. I need individual files for each sales partner for sending to respective partners.
Sub Macro2() Dim stgSheets As String, Cnt As Long Dim arrSheets() Cnt = Sheets.Count ReDim arrSheets(Cnt - 1) For i = 1 To Cnt stgSheets = stgSheets & Sheets(i).Name arrSheets(i - 1) = stgSheets 'sSheets = sSheets & "", "" Next i
I have a workbook that has 30 tabs in it. Each tab is a report card for students. What I'd like to do is create another tab with a button on it that when I hit the button it will search through each tabs range of D12:D40, D48:D76, D84:D112, D120:D136, J12:J40, J48:J76, J84:J112, and J120:J136. And if any of these cells has an MS in them then this new sheet I have created will list each students name which is in cell E5 and list what they recieved the MS for. This will be in the same row number but in column B. So if cell D12 has an MS in it then this report will list the students name and what's in cell B12.
I have a workbook with roughly 28 tabs(sheets) and i need to be able to run a macro that will create a new sheet for each tab and name it based on the tab name.
I have data contained in matching cells from several sheets. I need a worksheet that reflect the summary of the data from the worksheets. No formula is required. I just want my summary worksheet to list the all the data from my other worksheets. I might end up having about a hundred worksheets that I need included in the summary. Attached is a sample. It would be better if the summary automaticaaly updates as new worksheets are added.
I am trying to create a macro that will create a unique list of the values in the same column across 5 worksheets, "Question1", "Question2", etc, and place the list in a new worksheet, "Summary".
The values are in column A in all of the worksheets, and the number of rows in each worksheet will change each day. I need the unique list to be added to the sixth worksheet, "Summary".
Also, after the list is created on the Summary worksheet, I need a count of each field by worksheet and a total. This is how I currently have the Summary set up:
Part Type|Total|Question1|Question2|Question3|Question4|Question5 Name|=SUM(C2:F2)|=COUNTIF(Question1!$A:$A,A2)| =COUNTIF(Question2!$A:$A,A2)|=COUNTIF(Question3!$A:$A,A2)| =COUNTIF(Question4!$A:$A,A2)|=COUNTIF(Question5!$A:$A,A2)
New to using Excel formula's and am trying to create an IF/LOOKUP formula to look at multiple sheets within a workbook and display the information within the 'compare' sheet. The yellow cells are where data will be entered.
What I am trying to achieve:
Type the store numbers on the compare sheet (B2 and D2). For the sheet attached I have put 190 (in B2) and 2012 (in D2)
B2 store shows the predicted and actual values of 190 in columns B & C
D2 store shows the predicted and actual values of 2012 in columns E & F (No need to worry about variance and difference columns)
So, if I change the store numbers in B2 and D2 to any of the sheet numbers, I want it to display the correct info for that particular store within the compare sheet.
I have attempted a formula, which you can see... I have basically looked at some previous sheets that had IF and LOOKUP on it and tried to replicate that for my sheet, but with no luck.
I need to be able to pull information from 5 columns on 5 different pages, and pull all of the unique names out of it. From there, I need to create a list of all of these names. More often than not, this could only be three names, but I still would like this to be automatic because eventually it could be 50 or 60, and manually editing this list would get tedious. Lastly, is it possible to have a list create cells? For example: I have information on row 4, this one will start on row 6. My next group of information starts on row 14. That leaves 7 rows for information. I don't want to leave a large gap at the top of the page, so I'd like to be able to create cells if the list I'm trying to create has more information on it. Seems plausible in my mind, but I'm still new to excel.
I'm trying to achieve is to write a macro that can search a column of dates then open new worksheets according to the months that are present in the column of dates. So, for example, if the column has dates ranging from January to June, I need the macro to open 6 new worksheets and label them January, February, March, April, May and June.
The attached file (a copy of my main one) has a list of our engineers, and what stock they carry. The stock parts are the 64, 65, 66... numbers.
I need to create a list from this (as underneath the main table), for all instances where there is a 'Y' in the columns next to each engineer. So if an engineer has 3x pieces of stock, they need to appear in the list 3x times. If they have 1x piece of stock, they appear in the list once.
