Exclude Network Path In PivotTable Based On Sharepoint
Sep 4, 2007
I have an excel file linked to a sharepoint 2007 network space. Everytime I open the file, my pivot tables will not refresh, because the source of the pivottable seems to update automatically to include the network drive name on them which somehow causes a problem. Is there anyway to solve this? I put a snippet of the source in the pivottable as an example.

For example, we reference our network drives like this:

The code I'm using that results in the following error message: "Run-Time Error '1004':
The pivotTable field name is not valid. To create a pivottable report, you must use data that is organized as a list with labeled columns. If you are changing the name of a pivottable field, you must type a new name for the field." Here's the code, I've seperated it into each sub hoping that will make it easier to read:
Option Explicit
Sub main_prog()
Call td_metrics_import
Call pt_td_metrics("Pivot_Page1", "PivotTable1", "PivotTable2")
Call pt_td_metrics("Pivot_Page2", "PivotTable3", "PivotTable4")
Call create_graph
End Sub...............

I have a large spreadsheet where I've successfully ranked a large series of data based on revenue, using product classification as a criteria & summarising this on another page with the top 20 products. The problem I'm having is that within certain criteria's I have some products with the exact same revenue figure, so if the 2nd ranked product within classification "C" for example has revenue of $100, & there's another product within the same classification also with $100 of revenue, on my top 20 report I have results for the 1st & 2nd ranked product, but a blank for the third product & then results again for the fourth
The formula I'm using is
=IF(Y12="NA",0,SUMPRODUCT(--(Y12=$Y$12:$Y$6000),--(AC12

I'm trying to set up a diet/training spreadsheet so that when a client enters foods and exercises they don't want/can't do, those foods and exercises are made unavailable in dropdown menus (on my programming sheet) so that I can't inadvertently put them into their plans. I have a webform they fill out, which automatically puts the data into a spreadsheet and I know how to pull data from there into the clients' workbooks...

I have VBA code with array formula that looks up some values from series of spreadsheets. Which spreadsheet to use depends on the values in another column.
How do I make the formula the same for the whole range as it will substitute the necessary path into itself?
here is an example:
here is a code for VBA:
Range("I2").Select
Selection.FormulaArray = _
"=INDEX('1_Repl'!$C$2:$C$8,MATCH(1,IF('1_Repl'!$A$2:$A$8=H4,IF('1_Repl'!$C$2:$C$80,1)),0))"
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range("I2:I535"), Type:=xlFillDefault

I am using an XY scatter chart that displays the planned path and an actual path as I go. The planned path is set up in 100' increments and goes 12000' and actual path varies along the way.
My data that I use is the Northing (ft), Easting (ft) and Vertical Section (ft) for both the planned path and actual path.
I was wondering if there was an east way to get that information from the chart or if there is a formula that would allow me to calculate distance between the two points by using the data I use for my chart.

If you have a workbook or a template open you can find out the full path of the file from the .FullPath property. My problem is that when a user double-clicks my .xlt file (to create a new workbook based on it), I want the code in the Workbook_Open event to be able to tell the full path of the template it was created from (because the code will later go on to save the new workbook under a date related filename in the same directory that the template was located in). I haven't been able to find a property that gives me any clue as to the location of the template this new workbook is based on.

I have a script that generates various worksheets based on the day and puts these in folders based on the year/month/day. So a report run today would be in the F:200817 folder.
At the end of each month and then again at the end of the year I need to pull all the reports into a single workbook. The macro I have now allows you to select the folder you want to import the sheets from, but it doesn't recurse subdirectories, so I can only import sheets from a specific day into a workbook, but not from a month/year.

Essentially, the Engineering Dept has given me 550 AutoCad files I have dumped into a folder located in this path: C:/DrawingsDump
From these 550 DWG files I need to manually filter and separate 260 drawings that I actually need to use and move them to a folder located in this path: C:/DrawingsFiltered . This manual filtering process takes a lot of time and is tedious work and it has got to be done everytime Engineering changes drawings because they are not kind enough to provide me a delta list.
In Excel 2003 I have setup a list of all 260 drawings I am interested in and that I call my filtered list. Is it possible to create a script that will enable Excel 2003 to compare my filtered list to all of the files inside C:/DrawingsDump, and then copy only those files that match to my Excel Filtered list and then paste only matching files into the C:/DrawingsFiltered folder?
If Excel 2003 can't handle this, is there a third party application that will let me perform a file management function like this with minimum startup time?

I have an Excel sheet that contains a few thousand folder paths in the first column. The first few cells in the column look similar to below.
C:UsersNameDesktopFolder Copy12010360
C:UsersNameDesktopFolder Copy12010361
C:UsersNameDesktopFolder Copy12010362
C:UsersNameDesktopFolder Copy12010363
C:UsersNameDesktopFolder Copy12010364
C:UsersNameDesktopFolder Copy12010365
I am trying to create a macro that will copy any folders that exist in any of the paths listed in the first column. The folders should be copied to the path of the open workbook containing the macro. Below is the macro I have currently, much of which was taken from information I found in this thread [URL]....
VB:
Sub wrapper3()
x = 1
Set fs = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
While Sheets("Air").Cells(x, 1) <> ""
v = InStrRev(Sheets("Air").Cells(x, 1), "")
dest = ActiveWorkbook.Path & Mid(Sheets("Air").Cells(x, 1), v, 99)
[Code]...
This code seems to work fine if all of the folders exist to be copied. My problem is that some do not and it is creating a "Path Not Found" error for which I need a fix. If the folder doesn't exist at the path nothing should be copied and the next path can be evaluated.

From a SharePoint list I need two important columns in Excel (there are more columns in the list..). These colums contain a number and a single line of text belonging to that number. Many users have their Excel sheets with this information. Unfortunately the users maintain these lists manual. I know I can export a list to Excel, but I want to integrate the data in existing list. Users are forced to build their excel sheets in the way a SharePoint list is build, so the data can be integrated. When a new item is added/deleted/changed in the list, the excel will automatically update. Is there a way to realise this? For example with an extra monitoring column which says which line is updated, deleted etc.

I want to publish this spreadsheet's contents onto a calendar in excel or (preferably) onto a sharepoint calendar.
Does anyone know how to:

2) Publish the spreadsheets contents onto a calendar in sharepoint?

Path to the Sharepoint location where the files are at is [URL] ....
File name is customer_list_xxxxxx.xlsx The x's are a date which changes every day or week. So a new file will be uploaded to the sharepoint path.
Example customer_list_041414.xls
I've tried so many different code options for this, but no luck.

The weird thing is I can export the SharePoint list to an excel file and it is fine but as soon as i go to refresh it (Data>Refresh All) it produces the above error.

I've just exported a list from SharePoint to Excel, which gave me as a result a owssvr table, so far so good cause every time the list in SP is updated I can do a refresh and get the latest values; however once I opened the table I realized that the columns where not correctly order they were all mixed and the information does not look as it is required so I need to rearrange them. I do not need to delete a column I just need to be able to move them between themselves so that they will follow certain order: Product ID, Name, Amount of pieces, Place where they are stored, etc. this is very important because later on I use "vlookups" to do a series of reports.
I've tried cut- paste to move the columns to the correct position, unfortunately once I close the excel file and try to open it again, I got a message saying that the content is not readable and when Excel repairs it, my owssvr table loses the link to SP so I cannot update refresh the table anymore.
I cannot edit the list in SP as this site does not belong to me and I only got access to export the data and be able to refresh the table, all I want is to be able to move them within my ovssvr table so that locally I can work with them better.
Here is a pic of what I am talking about: cmms.JPG
So for example in the pic I put, I need that instead of Comments in Column E, Product ID can be in Column E, then Name in column F and so on..

how to traverse all files in SharePoint folders using Excel VBA and have not come across an answer I could use because, by configuration design, I cannot map a SharePoint URL to a drive letter.
Here it is:
Sub SPDir()

Dim dummyFile As String
'
' The file specified by dummyFile must reside in SharePoint in order to use SharedWorkspace
' The way the code is set up, the path and filename in dummyFile should NOT substitute %20 instead of spaces
' There is logic later to ignore dummyFile on output
' Substitute your own dummy file name below
