I want to extract specific expense for my year 2009 work book. such as just rent with relevant data from all other expeses.
for example in my work book, I want to extract rental expense with relevant GST PST and Total for all three months. i attached a excel work book for broader idea.
I'm trying to find a way to use a macro to extract data from a specific column from Sheet1 based on the columns header/title and copied into Sheet2 into the respective column with matching header/title.
For instance, in Sheet1:
Chicken Cow Donkey Pig
[Code]....
So the above table would be the result i'm aiming for.
NOTE, its not different workbooks. I'm looking for sheet to sheet macro.
I've attached a file as well if someone wants to have a go at it. There are no codes in it.
I'm trying to extract some data from an online page, but I require a specific cell at an exact time, each day.
For example, I would like to acquire the main data from the following page: [URL]
into excel, but additionally, I require the ESU14 (Sep '14) Open cell at exactly 0700 BST. I am currently using the 'Data' - 'From Web' feature to scrape the necessary fields into Excel however I haven't found a way to acquire one of those cells, at exactly a certain time, every day, even when Excel et al aren't open.
I have data in several cells, and I want to extract only the information in the cell up to a /. For example "joesmith/shipping" I would like to have only joesmith in the cell next to it.
I was wondering if there is a formula that will search a cell for a word or other specific criteria then if it finds it, puts the requested data / word in the formula cell
Example:
If I have a list of vehicle descriptions all in different formats:
CAR1 1.4 SRI 3 door Hatch CAR2 5 door saloon GSI 2.0 V8 2.2 CDX 5 door CAR3 Estate CAR3 Estate 5 Door CDX
Say I want to know which ones are CDX varient I need the formula to look in the cell and return "CDX" or "YES"
I am using some code to loop through a folder and extract some data from a specific sheet.
Now say a user moves the file to another folder etc... The macro will pull up an error, now is there a way i can have it dynamic linked to the spreadsheet so no matter what folder it gets moved to,
My folder path will adjust to that or need to take another route?
I have been trying to work this out by looking at other posts (mostly concerning Binary Access) but can't figure it! The source text files I am using can vary in length from 4,000 characters to well over 100,000 characters. However the data I am looking for always starts 40 characters from the end of the file and is 10 characters long! I need my macro to pick out this data and store it as a string (so it can be added to an array and exported to a worksheet later)
I want to know what are the teams in which sam a member. Peoples' names should be selected from a dropdown menu and names of the teams should be displayed below the menu.
I have a few hundred data/text files to analyze, some a few thousand lines deep. I would like to grab 5, just 5 numbers describing voltage levels. I know the preceding text for each of these in the cell and the following text as well. I just need to delete everything else and keep these 5 values in a column using a script or a macro, and do so for all these files in a specified folder.
This would be 3 weeks of work and the analysis needs to be done ASAP for my research.

I have some data which is copied from our system in the format below, I then need to add only parts of this information to an existing spreadsheet on the network.
This is the information (there could be lots of these entries, but all need to be added to the spreadsheet)

I then need part of the above data to be transferred to in Excel in the following column headers (see attachment for layout)

what is the quickest and easiest way of updating this spreadsheet..... I have to update the spreadsheet every morning and it is very time consuming .
I have a pivot table, and I would like to be able to have a formula or vba to extract the data to separate sheets. The pivot table looks similar to;
Row Labels Count of FileSemester John Smith 8
[Code].....
The pivot table consists of employee name (John Smith), followed by class code and qty. I have a separate spreadsheet for each employee and what I need to be able to do is to extract the class & qty into these spreadsheets.
I am trying to extract the data values from the references Bundesbank page and get them into a worksheet so I can manipulate from there. What I have is below.
I need to extract data from a spreadsheet given to me by my client, the best way to describe what I want to do is "a reverse of a pivot table"
The source sheet is arranged as follows:
Column A: Employee name every 3rd row Column B: Normal Time on row 2, time and a half on row 3, double time on row 4, normal time on row 5, time and a half on row 6 etc etc Column C to I inclusive: Number of hours worked (on that day) Column J: Subtotal of the 7 days (columns C to I) Column K to Column DZ: Repeats of Column C to J
Row 1: dates in columns C to DY (except for the weekly subtotals)
I have many spreadsheets like this that I would prefer to have the information in a simple list format with the fields: Name, Date, Rate Class (Normal Time, Time and a Half etc), Hours. Is there a simple/quick way to extract this information into the above mentioned fields? Am i being stupid and missing a simple solution?
how to extract names from a worksheet and put them in another by alphabetical order? There are 6 “could be more” blocks of data on Monday’s Worksheet, not all rows of each block will be filled. The idea is put the data from Monday WS in List WS without spaces and by alphabetical order. Because my English is not good enough, I attached a file with what I need.
I don't know where to begin or if this is even possible. I have report that I need to format.
See example file. Note: real file has 2000 rows.
The book date and book amount in the orginal is the POS date and POS amount in the format sheet. I don't need the "over/short" data from the original. Col. A contains store #'s and they are 2,3,or 4 numbers long preceeded by an "S-". In the formatted sheet I need the "S-" removed. The data is grouped by column C. 3 of the same equals 1. Groups vary.
I'm using Excel 2007 and I'm looking for a way to extract certain records/rows from a table and to have that data copied to another area of the spreadsheet. I actually want to extract Invoice amounts according to a specific account number so that I eventually end up with all the invoices for a particular client on another tab so that they can be printed out as a kind of client statement.
I know there are ways to filter and then copy the records/rows to another tab but I want it to be automated as far as possible. What I really want to do is to "pull" the records into a new tab by using some kind of formula in the cells where I want the data rather than having to copy it there. I know how to sum data for this kind of thing but what I'm really struggling on here is being able to "Display all the records in a seperate area" first before I eventually add formulas to sum.
I don't mind the records being coppied if the process is automated but don't really want to get into macros as writing macros isn't my strong point.
I've tried using "VLOOKUP" but it will only return values for the first data item it finds (Account number in my case), whereas I really need it to continue to return values for the data item it finds if there are multiple instances of it!
My specification is: Calculate how many people within the UK live in a given area. Within that area what are the different age distributions (0-5 years old, 6-10 years, etc.) Then display the data twice - 1/ show each age range and how many people in the given area fall into each one. 2/ As before only report on people in the given area, and display age range, but also display them by ID number (col E in example file).
Can someone help me build the pivot tables that performs my analysis? (I got it working with countifs but it was an inelegant longwinded kludge.)
I've attached an example (.xls zipped up) which shows the data on one tab and my failed pivot table attempt on another.
I'm trying to set up a macro which will import data from one worksheet to a master sheet. I need it to copy the information into specific columns but not overwrite any existing information which is already in the Master Sheet, but I don't even know where to begin.
Just so you're clear on exactly what it is I'm trying to do... I have a Master Sheet which lists all of our suppliers prices, margins etc etc... However, when we use a new supplier we send them a greatly condensed version of the Master Sheet - We call it the Supplier Sheet (no big surprises there)!
When the supplier sends it back to me I have to type it all out manually which is kinda time consuming. I'd really like to set up a "push button" system which allows me to simply drag the Supplier Sheet into the workbook, add the info into the Master Sheet, then be able to delete the now useless Supplier Sheet.
(I have attached a test copy of the file - all of the columns in blue are the ones which need the data adding to).
I have a list of terms to put together and what I have is a master list of 6 concatenate functions and I need to link them to all the different words in my list.
The first word in collumn A needs to be with the function in D1, the second word (A2) needs to be with D2, then A3 with D1, and A4 also with D1, while A5 with D6, etc. It looks something like this:
for your info...I have put numbers in the adjacent cell corresponding to which of the 6 concatenate functions need to go into the cell in collumn C
So in reality all I need is a function that would rearrange my list of 6 functions from Collumn D into collumn C based on the numbers 1-6 I have in collumn B
Workbook.txt
(attached is an example to better see what im talking about. Disregard that the concatenate functions are not working...it doesnt matter right now.)
I would like to sort my column A by "Urgent, High, Medium and Low". However, when I click on sort, it obviously sorts alphbetically. Need to code to sort all colums A:K.
I have made a pivot table and I dlike to identify with a macro the documents with net value over 1000. Then extract these values next to the respective sales documents in an are near the pivot table somewhere. The fields are called Document and Sum of Net value. Of course the pivot is very variable one time it has 3000 records and another 5000.
I want to export some columns of my worksheet to a csv-file. But i don't want to export all of them, i just need for example: Columns B, D and G and inside the csv-file they should be in an different order like G, B, D .
I already thought about using "union" to select the specific columns, but i can't get this to work.
