I need to find out "total lifted quantity"(i.e. the sum of 'first state lifted quantity'+'second state lifted quantity'+'third state lifted quantity') for each "state" for each "size" and each "grade".
However when I am applying a pivot table (as seen in Sheet1) it is not giving data in lucid form. I don't want to split the data for three states in three different tables (as seen in Sheet 4).

the above is the data i need to work with (dates are in dd/mm/yy). i need to find a way (a macro, preferably) to extract the date and time corresponding to one person, and paste it into a new sheet, e.g. at sheet 2 (renamed to "lam") should be

So I am trying to pull data from multiple sheets. I've gone through the thread, but haven't found an answer yet (or didn't work hard enough). On Sheet1, yellow highlighted column, I am trying to look up the I.D. Code for 36 month residuals. As you can see, I have to use multiple conditions on different worksheets.
I have to use most of Sheet1 columns to find the answer. I just can't figure the formula out.
Writing code in VBA for splitting data into multiple sheets?
The split needs to be based on value in one of the columns and the sheet where the data will be sent to should get sheet name same as value in the column.
Following is the input sheet, the data needs to be split based on entry in the column "Job Type".
As part of report consolidation I need a Macro that can read through all the files in a particular location(Say a folder path) Pull the data for each unique products into separate sheet
In the example below : All the rows with "Chocolates to sheet 1" , Drink to Sheet 2 and so on Since the products in column 3 can vary the unique sheets need to be created at run time based on the source data
I have a sheet that contains a Microsoft Query (SQL) data connection. In cell C3, I have the month name and I also have a year cell (C4), which contains just the year based on what the current month (=YEAR(TODAY())) is.
For this example let's use May (C3) and 2013 (C4)
C3 and C4 are used as parameters for the SQL query, so if I change the month to January and the Year to 2010, data is refreshed to bring in that data.
Works smashingly.
I then want to add 11 more sheets (12 total), so each sheet is a month. The value in cell C3 on each sheet will be the month name.
If I just copy this sheet 11 times, Excel adds 11 extra data connections; 1 for each sheet. As the query in each sheet needs to be exactly the same, I don't want this. I want the 12 sheets to use the same data connection, only with the specified parameters at the sheet level.
Otherwise, if I need to add or remove a column, or change a column name, rather than just doing it once, I'd have to do it 12 times.
This can't be right, surely, as that would be the most ridiculous design flaw I've ever seen in a piece of software. How can having the same query 12 times be a good thing?
I'm a bit concerned that googling 'excel data connections multiple sheets' always wants to be 'excel multiple data connections one sheet' - I want 'excel multiple sheets one data connection'
I'm not sure if this is best handled in the Formulas & Functions section or elsewhere, but this is my best guess. I have a spreadsheet used for tracking hardware issues with data in two worksheets:
What I'm trying to do is find a way to extract from those two sheets the date, serial number, page count, and ticket number where the date / serial # are the same and dump this to a new sheet. I've thought that I may need to concatenate the date / serial number together into a single cell or something, but I'm really at a loss as to how to pull this data. Part of me thinks this should be done in SQL, not a spreadsheet, but that's how our reports are produced.
I have a workbook that contains something like 50 worksheets and they all contain data with the same columns, for example column A is Project, column B is Project Name, etc. I need to convert data in each worksheet into an Excel Table. There has to be an easier way than manually converting each worksheet into a Table. However, when I group all of the sheets, the option to Insert a Table is not available even though the data starts in the same row and contains the same number of active columns in each worksheet. Is there an easier waty to insert a table in all of the worksheet simultaneously?
I have an master excel file with 20 sheets with names x,y,z,a,b,c,f,.... Each and every sheet has data which start from Row 7 and Column 2. Now i need to consolidate this data in one sheet in another excel file.
Consolidation should be like
Suppose X sheet has 20 rows and 4 columns of data which starts from Row 7 and Column 2, this data has to be copied and pasted in my new excel file copied on my desktop. Now first 20 rows are occupied in new excel file.
Now code should move on to master excel file Sheet Y which has 45 rows and 4 columns of data which starts from Row 7 and Column 2,this data has to be copied and pasted in my new excel file from row 21, which means Master excel file sheets has to be clubbed to one consolidated excel file.
In All the sheets in Master file Data starts from Row 7 and column 2.
Data range varies row wise in each sheet but column length is fixed to 4.
We have a company and need to automating workflow.
The Master sheet contains incoming mail details by customer. Each employee is assigned a set number of customers to respond to. We want the information on the Master sheet to filter to a specific employee assigned sheet. On the employee assigned sheet, once filtered, they are to provide updates in column E
Date Reference no. Name Employee ID 16-Feb-12 S/S/1
[Code] ........
We need a macro that can filter customers' details to the specific employee assigned sheet based on the employee ID in the master sheet. For example, all customers assigned to DW (i.e with the 'DW' employee ID) filters into a sheet called 'DW'. Please note that the Master sheet is a continuous log updated daily. This macro must not duplicate information previously filtered once the employee enters a status update in column E.
I need to extract numbers from excel cells. For eg-
BAR TBG 04.00X02.25X26.50 1340 HRN SMLS SPEC. ES4.38694
^^^ This is one of the cells. I need to pull out 04.00, 2.25, 26.50, 1340 into different cells from one given cell.
I have tried using =MID() function, but I need to make changes into that formula everytime the position of first numeric letter changes while I go along a column. And I need to make changes into it as I go along the row.
It is taking me a lot of time in extracting numbers from one cell into different cells and I am afraid that I will spend the rest of my life getting this stuff done.
My problem is I cannot copy from a Form Control drop down box, and I need to do this for ~10 drop down boxes in about 200 xls files. The files follow a template so the drop down button Inputs are uniform. Here is some more detail:
I’m building an Access Database so that our data (currently in many, many Excel Spreadsheets) can be efficiently queried. The old system was that when asset data was collected, the data would be entered into an Excel spreadsheet, using a Template. So for example:
Project A1234
Name Main Street Pipe High Street Pipe
Ref No. 12345 12346
Installation date 22/08/13 19/07/12
X Coordinate 55667 99212
Y Coordinate 77889 12364
We have hundreds of these files, but I managed to get all the files in one folder and Paste and Transpose the data from the relevant Cell Ranges in each file (using a VB sub) into ONE summary sheet. Success; or so I thought.
Unfortunately for one generation of the template (people changed them slightly every year), the template had people enter information into Drop Down Menus. Not a problem when they’re associated with a cell, but these were free floating Form Controls.. so you can’t actually click and copy from them, or call them in VB as you would a specific cell.. afaik.
So my issue is how can I extract the data from those Form Buttons? I’ll try and provide as much info as I can:
Firstly I tried to find some sort of identifier for each Form Button. The dropdowns are called Combo Boxes, (Developer tab > Insert > Combo Box (Form Control) ), and when you select them (by right clicking) and hit the View Code button in Developer Tab > Controls the following shows up in VB.
Sub DropDown44_Change()
End Sub
I’m guessing that the number is related to the button so that’s one useful thing, an identifier of sorts. There’s no actual code there though really from what I can see.. My problem is I have no idea how to extract from DropDown44!
The range of values in the drop down comes from a separate sheet where there’s just a list of the values. There aren’t any cells linked to the drop downs though. If I enter a cell in (Right Click) Format Control > Cell link: then it prints the number (e.g. 4) of the value in the range. So if the drop down options are “Monday”, “Tuesday”, “Wednesday”, “Thursday” and “Thursday” is selected, the linked cell says: “4”.
They didn’t link a cell, then I could call that cell in a VB sub and the job would be done. Unfortunately they didn’t, so I tried Recording a Macro and selecting the drop down form control.. That didn’t really work, except if I right clicked it, I got some more info from the macro VB:
ActiveSheet.Shapes.Range(Array("Drop Down 19")).Select
So is my drop down an Array? My understanding of an Array is that it’s a list of arguments.. all I get there is the name of the button. I am not experienced in VB so this is as far as I’ve got. Perhaps I can get a sub to select the button using the above line, but I need the info from it, i.e. which value is currently selected in the Drop Down.
(Using Excel 2010 but the .xls files are from ~2005)
I have some data, in a xlVeryHidden sheet, with multiple headers. An example is given below.
I would like to auto-generate a table on a different sheet with only revelent headers and filter by source and month/year. Basically, I want to write a macro that would make this table for, say, January and source1 only, without headers 1, 2 or 3.
(Very similar to the Pivot table, only without combining the data)

I'm trying to create an online order form using google forms. In my response spreadsheet I have an cell containing:
22" - Size 0 (£52.50), 24" - Size 2 (£60.00)
I desperately need to be able to extract the amounts within the brackets across to the next cell and in an ideal world add the amounts together. There could also be more than two sets of brackets, depending on the order being placed.
Is there a formula that can achieve this? All the ones I have tried will only extract from one set of brackets or will do both but then also include the string between the brackets too.
So i need each of AZVR, "AZVR" Ltd, 0.1, AZ3570011 and ABC in different cells. The characters could be in different lengths. Is there any formula that can find Q/K code in text then write characters after it until space or Name starts?

I have circa 500 sheets (all with identical layout) in the same workbook. All the data is displayed in Columns "A" and "B". The entries in Column A are variable (5-6 digit numbers) B contains numbers between 1 and 200.
I would like to be able to add together the sum of the numbers in B against an entry in A- I have a list of all the entries in column A.
The data in column A is in ascending order but may not always be in the same cell reference.
I have this text in excel in every cell, but I want to extract only certain data from within the cell eg:
Name: John Doe Price min: $2000 Price max: $3000 Contact Number: 1800-600-400 E-Mail: john doe@somewhere.com
*** Please note that we are trying our best ***
I need to extract only the name, contact number and e-mail from withing these cells, or delete the info I don't need from all the cells. The text does appear exactly like this in the cell. see attached screenshot
This info was extracted from Outlook into a CSV format and this is the body of the mail only....
I have an excel sheet with data results of samples analysis from ICP-MS the sheet includes the name of the sample and its results, I want to extract for each sample only the ( average value "x" , standard deviation "S" and " %RSD) and sort these values in columns , see the photo and the excel sheet attached ..
I'm trying to synthesize a fair amount of averages response time data from about 300 separate worksheets into one master sheet and I'm wondering what the best way is to do it using Excel's macros.
In each subject condition-worksheet there are 24 cell items that need to be pulled and put into the master worksheet; there are 2 conditions, for a total of 48 line items.
In each subject file, the subject number is in cell A1, my first desired average is in M7, then M15, M23, M31, M39, M47, M55, M63, then it repeats back to M9, M17, M25, etc..
How can I create a macro that creates a new line for each subject (starting with row 2) first with their subject number (A1 in all subject files), then M7, M15, M23, M31, M39, etc. moving across the row?
I work with Excel 2010 and have a very large spreadsheet with data that I need to manipulate in several different ways. I have been filtering and then cutting and pasting but this is very time consuming . Is there a way to extract specific data from the spreadsheet and transfer it to different worksheets? I don't really know how to use macros.
Sheet 1 will act as a summary for sheet 2, showing only the last 5 entries from sheet 2.
Sheet 2 is based on football results of a season which will have a total of 34 league games plus cup games.
Sheet 2 has 4 columns:
Game Number Home Team Result Away Team 1 United 2-0 City 2 Sportive 4-2 Uniao 3 Real 1-0 Ateltico 4 Villa 1-3 City 5 United 2-1 Real 6 Atletico 0-0 Villa
So sheet 1 will show the last 5 results as the season progress's and new data is added.
I have been able to extract column 'GAME NUMBER' using the following formula:
=INDEX('Back end 1'!A:A,MATCH(9.99999999999999E+307,'Back end 1'!A:A)-ROWS('Back end 1'!A2:A$6)+1)
I am struggling to find a way to pull the last 5 data that is text based.
I have data and after doing some data manipulation it looks like this
Job # Part # Lot # Total Grand Total
[Code]..
What I'm trying to do is making a summary sheet that has only the first record with unique values using the Job number, part number, and lot number as the criteria. The grand total in the first record is the total for all of that job, part, lot so i need to bring that value over to the sheet as well. I have been able to do this easily with the duplicate finder, but need a formula to automatically do this.
I have sheet containing a schedule of data. It is a record of changes on a project, each change is sequentially numbered and contains a row of data (date of change, whether approved, cost of change etc). Each change is given a cost centre reference (1 of 10 cost centres are being used) depending on the type of change being made.
I need to keep that record of the overall schedule of changes but I also want to extract each of the cost centre categories into a sub table on the sheet to give a schedule of changes against each category.
I have almost achieved what I want but one method leaves blanks in the sub table which I want to avoid and the other method I used to remove the blank lines but needs the first method sheet calculated before it then goes to work and seems rather cumbersome and I suspect there is a much easier method. (I also want it to be compatible with excel 2003 so it can be used across several platforms.)
I have sheet full of data containing results of multiple tests on various equipment. The sheet contains many columns of data but below are the specifc criteria i want to use to extract the data. As maintenance is carried out regularly the list is always growing. I want to create a dashboard summary of the "Machines" which i will colour using condition formatting. I will list the machines in the columns and would like the rows below each machine to be populated with the results.
Column 1 Lists the various factories Column 2 Lists the Machine Column 3 Lists the Part Column 4 Lists the result.
Results can either be "ok", "warning", "Alert" only
I would like a macro to be able to save 26 tabs within the one document to individual PDFs.Preferably I would like to be able to specify each time exactly which tabs get printed, because often I don't need to print all 26, just the first 10 or so.I would like each PDF to automatically be named with the value in cell E10 of each tab.E10 already has a formula to create its final value. It references cells from other tabs within the same document. Hopefully the fact that this cell has a formula in it won't affect my ability to use the resulting value as a 'save as' reference?I would like it if the PDFs save to the same location as the Excel sheet from which they're generated is located. The location of the excel sheet will change every three months, so I'd prefer not to specify a location with a specific filepath, as it will have changed by the time I run the macro again.
