Vlookup Multiple Values Then Concatenate All Values In One Cell?
Jul 23, 2014two formulas for one data set. The data is attached in the spreadsheet: "Product IDs". The data is a set of Master Product IDs (parent) and the Linked to them Products (children). I need to create a relationship between unique parents (Master Product IDs) and their children (Linked Products)
I need to create two formulas:
1. From the Data Set table, need to vlookup the unique value in column A (Master Product ID) and return comma delimited (concatenated) corresponding values from column B (Linked Products). So, the result will be as shown in Table 2.
2. From the Data Set table, need to vlookup the unique (de-duplicated) parent/children relationship in column A (Master Product ID) and return comma delimited (concatenated) corresponding values from column B (Linked Products). There are total 3 parent/children relationships in Table 1. So, the result will be as shown in Table 3.
Find If Duplicate Values Exist In A Column, Concatenate Cells And Then Delete
Dec 17, 2009I want to do, is search column A for claim numbers that match. When I do have a matching claim number, I want to concatenate the original cells ownership field with the said matching cells ownership field (or move into a column in the same row, I can always concatenate later). Once that is complete, I want to delete the row I took the information out of.
I want to join this data in ArcGIS, but as of right now, it's not a 1-to-1 relationship, so only a relate works. That doesn't help me as I want to display claims by ownership, and this can vary per claim. Company A may have 100% on one claim, and then split another claim 50% with Company B.
This causes a double entry on the claim field in this current spreadsheet I have, which requires me to clean it up by making multiple columns of ownership vs. an additional row for shared ownership.
My problem:

Return Multiple Values (Concatenate) From Ranges
Jul 30, 2014I've made a "Budget Calendar" so to speak.., with my bills on the first sheet, and the Months in the following sheets. What I'm trying to do is say, for instance, the day is the 11th on the calendar, (there are two bills due on this day), and I have the bill scheduled to be on the 11th, can I use a formula to return what bills are due?
On the "Bill Dates" sheet, you can see where I'm kind of going with this...
On the August calendar, under the 11th, I want it to say "Internet, gas (utility)" in cell D20, or "Internet" and "gas (utility)" in D20&21, respectively.
I can get E20 to return the total bills due for the day using "=VLOOKUP("11th",'Bill Dates'!$B$2:$D$395,3,FALSE)", and it'd be awesome if I could get it to return them in different rows as well.

May 9, 2013What can I add to this existing formula to look for duplicate values in the entire column (D) and then concatenate the text of column (K) in each of those rows together?
Essentially I want to string all text in column K together, for each duplicate row of column D with the results in column L.

Aug 20, 2013I am trying to concatenate multiple strings of text where each may have composite or compound formatting. Is there any way to maintain the formatting? The Characters.Insert method won't work because the resulting string is greater than 255 characters. See an example below.

Problem the are 3 vlookups where it will return names (with format -> Fname, Given Name Middle) and probably blank returns.
I have problem with the replace since there are also spaces between the Fname,Gname and Mname sample name with spaces.

I have two tables, let's call them "summary" and "detailed".
The "detailed" table is something like the following:

The "summary" table below gets info from the "detailed" table. The 'ID'is now unique. I'm looking for a formula on the 'VOL (concatenated)' column cells it should get all rows from the "detailed" table with the same ID and then concatenate the 'VOL' column results, comma separated:

PS: I have people using this table with office 2003, so compatibility is necessary...
Excel 2011 :: Find Multiple Text Strings In Another Text String
Mar 8, 2013How do I use an Excel formula to find which (if any) multiple sets, each of up to 50 words, exist in a series of rows of a spreadsheet - if set A has one or more words found in a searched cell.
A positive result will return a specific value in the designated result cell. If none of the words in Set A is found in the searched cell, the formulae will repeat the test for the words in Set B, and so on.
After all 50 sets of words have been tested, the formula will move to the next cell in the searched column.
New words will be added to the sets of words continually as required.
Multiple words within sets are included in double quotes. Within each set of words there will be some n-tuples of words (i.e. 24 adjacent words) that contain one or more of the words in the set, but for which the formula will be required to return a negative result. Example: Set A = word 1, word2, word 3, "word1 word2 word3". (The words within a set could also be each entered in separate columns, as opposed to all included in a single cell.) The single column of text to be searched is about 10,000 rows.
I am wanting to use the above in a spreadsheet that contains data downloaded from a series of bank accounts to automatically allocate items of expenditure to one of 20 or so different categories of expenditure.
The formula will search the description field to find words that are used in the in the downloaded files from the various accounts to describe each transaction.
If a word describing travel expenditure (e.g. hotel, "holiday inn" but not "holiday travel") is found in the description of an expenditure item - the item cost will be allocated to the TRAVEL EXPENDITURE column, which is one of 20 or so different categories of expenditure.
Happy to consider a different solution if the task can be done better a different way.
Tried using a combination of INDEX/SEARCH/IF in Excel, but was not able to get a correct result. PS I am using Excel 2011 for Mac - which does not allow macros, so the solution needs to be entirely formula based.

Aug 5, 2009I have run into serious trouble with a file I am working on. I have 12,000 companies (roughly), and each of them appears in an Excel file multiple times (some 1 time, other 18 times) with a few parameters. The big file (about 90,000 entries) is sorted so it looks like below:
I will illustrate for 2 companies:
Company A 0 200
Company A 0 0
Company B 300 400
Company B 0 50
I need for every company to do a countif for each column on condition
that the value is larger than 0.
In this case I would end up with:
Company A 0 200
Company A 0 0
Countif result 0 1
Company B 300 400
Company B 0 50
Countif result 1 2
However, I need to extend this to the whole 90,000 entries and 12,000 companies and this cannot be done manually. I thought about vlookup but that returns the first entry only, and I have multiple.

Feb 18, 2014What I'm looking for is a formula that will search a data table on a source tab and find a value in a column. And have the ability to function like a vlookup and display the contents of cells in the same row on a different tab. The catch is the value will repeat it's self at random interval in the data table. So for example the values are ON-1 to ON-8 and MB-1 to MB-8. Each value will have it's own tab and I want the formula to search the Source tab and capture the value in order but on the next row of the spread sheet.

Macro To Find Text And Copy Row Values

I would like the macro to look in column I, and when it finds "TRUE", I'd like it to copy and paste values in all the cells to the left of it.
Reason being is that I want to rid the row of its formula, so the next time someone changes the info (the date the vlookup is searching for) in the tabs those cells are referring to, I will not lose the data it returned previously.
Really all I want is to copy and paste the values in the lowermost row of new information for each plant, but this is the best way I can currently think of.
I've removed the tabs the cells in columns B-G are referring to for sensitivity's sake.

I've been asked to do something in excel i can't seem to get my head around.
My client provides me with data in the form
1c, 1b, 1a, 2c, 2b, 2a, 3c etc... where 1a is the lowest.
I need to find a way of working out the difference between these, e.g.
edit: 2a - 1c = 5
I've been working on it and have made some headway by splitting these with MID function and then using CODE to try and work out a unique ID for each, but i can't help feeling there's an easier way!
Find Maximum. Some Values Are Represent By Text
Aug 8, 2007I have a column of values the values can be "T", 0.00 ->any number to the nearest hundredth. I thought I had this problems solved a while back but after having time to do some quality control I found that anytime there is a value of "T" the macro does not work. I have had some great help with this in the past to get as far as I have but I still cannot seems to get it 100%. I have attached a sample file. The result that I would like to see is in the cell BH145 is "16,17,23" without the quotes of course.
When you open the worksheet you will see that the values of concern are precipitation values. These values are rounded to nearest hundredth. When there is a trace of precip however it is recorded as "T" therein lies the problem that I cannot seem to solve.

I want to do a find and replace for all of Column B, where all the names are replaced with their respective color values. If possible, I'd like this to all happen with the individual cells (so for example, B3 might go from "Brown, Jones, Smith" to "Red, Red, Blue").
If that's not possible, I could divide all the names into individual cells and then find and replace.

Table 1: matrix that contains Weight data in each cell
Table 2: matrix that contains Code data in each cell
Table 3: Relationship between Code and Level data
Table 4: Table with relationship between Weight data, Code data and Level data
Table 5: I want to populate each cell in Table 5 matrix from getting values from Table 4 by looking up the right value from Table 5 based on :
1) Weight data from corresponding cell in Table 1
2) Code data from corresponding cell in Table 2
3) Code and Level relationship.
for e.g. to get value for Table 5, Worksheet cell B140 ( intersection of A1-A1),
1) corresponding weight is 1.17 as in Table 1 (Weight data) (Worksheet cell B3)
2) corresponding Code is 6 as in Table 2 (Code data) (Worksheet cell B35)
3) Code 6 corresponds to Level 2 (as seen in Table 3)(Worksheet cell A74)
so, looking up the 3 values from Table 4 i.e. Level 2, Code 6, Weight 1.17, one gets cell AR98 with corresponding value. therefore, final value in Table 5, Worksheet cell B140 (intersection of A1-A1) will be equal to $4.00
I have been trying to solve this using Vlookup, Hlookup, Index/Match but am getting confused. Also, not too sure if this can be done in 1 step. New to these excel and these functions
Search/Find Multiple Cell Values On Another Worksheet
May 20, 2008I have three parameters that users on my spreadsheet will be using. They will be searching using the 'Brand', 'MPAN' and 'Tariff' fields.I would like to have drop down menu's for then to select the correct search option. I then have another sheet within the same workbook with all the data in it with columns headed of Brand', 'MPAN' and 'Tariff'. It has to be an excat match using those three parameters though. I would like the parameters the user selects on the first sheet to be searched and found on the second sheet, with the figures in the cells next to the search result getting fed back into a set cells back on the first page.
