I need to create a formula where if (example) letter A was placed in cell A1, cell A2 would assign (example) value of 1, but if letter B was placed in cell A1, A2 would assign different value.
Ideally the formula would be able to handle multiple values from a range on seperate sheet.
I have saved this on a 2010 workbook as I am at home but this will be used on a 2003 workbook.
I have several projects on one spreadsheet which multiple users will be working and I am trying to create a summary sheet of the work carried out.
Each user is expected to carry out a task on each row of the data held in each worksheet (research, call, update etc) and each task (Option 1-5) is assigned a value. Each user is expected to meet a certain level of points per day to calculate productivity.
I am looking for a sumproduct along the lines of the summary sheet attached but mine just takes one sheet into consideration and I need one for all sheets.
The project I'm working on is for checking the measured Valve clearances on 4 cylinder motorbikes
They have 16 valves in all and I had made a spread sheet which has cells to enter the Min and Max Valve clearances for 8 exhaust and 8 Inlet valves they have different tolerances.
I have been able to do this part so I am at the point where once the valve gap min and max are entered for the exhaust and inlet valves on Cylinder 1 this changes all the min max gaps for all the other inlet and exhaust valves.
And once I have measured the gaps and entered the actual valve gap the sheet then tells me if the measured value is in or outside the valve clearance tolerance. And this is all working very well!
To save money on buying new shims which is what is used to adjust the valve clearance I swap as many shims that are out of spec on the inlet side to the Exhaust side and vice verse that will bring the valve back into spec.
Once a shim is found out of spec it must be removed, it's measured and that measurement is entered into the sheet and the sheet then tells me what size shim to replace it with to bring the valve gap back to as close to the centre of the tolerance as possible.
What I won't the sheet to do that I can't work out how is once all the out of spec shims have been entered I want it to check and tell me which shims can be moved to which valves to bring them back in spec! All valves are numbered from 1 to 16 and cylinder number exhaust and inlet valves.
I need to create a formula that will allow me to use two sheets within the same workbook. I set up a dropdown box in my B2 cell in my first worksheet. My A4 cell is where I am trying to create my formula. I am not even sure how to say what I need. My drop down is filled with numbers from 1-211. I started my formula with =IF(B2=1,Sheet2!B3) this much I can get to work. It fills in the correct information. I do not know how to get it to continue. I need B2=2,Sheet2!B4.
I've got a complicated logic formula which looks at multiple values on a large spreadsheet to return a singular figure based on whether all these conditions are met. It works well but I wan't to add an extra stipulation to it. I won't paste the full formula as it probably wont mean much without all the data so heres a mini version with simplifed conditions - but that DOESNT work:
Its the last bit that I'm having problems with - I want to say if H10 equals "ALL" then in my table of values to add up not just "DOG" values or "CAT" values but "DOG" and "CAT" values
I'm trying to use vlookup to return multiple values for the same unique identifier. I've read a couple of examples within the forums, but I haven't been able to find anything I understand. I have employee ID's and these ID's have specific access associated with their ID's and each access is listed within a different row. Within a new spreadsheet I removed all duplicates of the employee ID so now I no longer have a one to one match between spreadsheets, so I would like to create a vlookup that will list all access associated with each employee ID. I have attached a sample of the data sheet I am working with.
I have attached an example of a Trail Balance workbook that shows monthly tabs and a summary tab. Column A&B is just a small sample of the Account #'s and Account description for each month. Obviously i can just Sum the different sheets on the summary page. However, the issue i have is that on the complete detailed sheet (over 200 rows/accounts down) that i have to complete columns A&B don't match up exactly and have added accounts in them or removed. So i need a way to consolidate all sheets in to a summary page making sure all accounts are listed on the summary page along with values summed into the various columns.
pants A green Pants B red Jacket C green Jacket D blue Polo C white ....
I need a formula to find some value( in our case "colors" = "green, red, blue, white" ... = 20-30 values), and to return in column B, the values, like:
Column A: Column B:
pants A green | green Pants B red | red Modern green Jacket | green blue winter jacket | blue Polo white D | white
I have different product feeds (csv) and i will like to search for colors in the product names.
I have a sheet, called "output", in which I need to complete column C "calculated values". I need to complete the table based upon a formula table (which is in sheet "formulas").
For the first row of data, cell C2, I need to take the price per order ($0.25; cell A2) and number of orders (40; cell B2) and copy data to cell B4 and B6, respectively.
Once the data has been copied to to cells B4 and B6 on the fomulas sheet, I need to copy the calculated value in Row N to the output sheet. Note that the value being copied from N can be N11, N12, N13, N14, or N15 (the one that is <> to null).
I am trying to find a way to use information in one cell in order to look up corresponding multiple values on another sheet. The problem that I am running into is that VLOOKUP only returns the first value. I need the values to be calculated in different cells going vertically, not all combined in the same cell as was in an earlier post. I am not looking to sum anything so a pivot table also doesnt work.
Sample data: A / B / C / D Identifier / Pub ID / Invoice # / Job # ABCD1234 / ABCD / 1234 / A41254 ABCD1234 / ABCD / 1234 / B41254 ABCD1234 / ABCD / 1234 / C41254 DCBA4321 / DCBA / 4321 / A56789
etc.
I am looking for it to do this: A / B Identifier / Job # ABCD1234 / A41254 / B41254 ETC.
I want to enter ABCD1234 into another worksheet and have it return all of the job #'s, but I have a lot of these so I don't want to have to look up how many job numbers there are associated with it and have to enter different formulas into multiple cells. Filtering also isn't an option as there are simply too many cells to calculate.
I am trying to replicate a payslip from a list of data on a worksheet.
The list of data contains the employee name, location they worked, and number of hours.
Each employee will work at multiple locations throughout the month, perhaps 10 or so.
The payslip must contain each location worked along with the relevant data, in a list so to speak.
What function can I use to pull this in? Of course if it were one location I would use vlookups to pull in data. As this only returns the top match I would then need a different formula to pull in the second location in the cell underneath?
I have attached an example workbook with a tiny subset of data and a number of criteria from the Dashboard Engine page removed.
What I need is to sum the total value for each division on the second sheet based on the date criteria (so for the first cell Jan 1/2010 - Jan 31/2010) and on a match between division name on the Dashboard Engine sheet table and the Masterdata sheet. I have tried a number of variations but keep getting a 0 for each return.
I can manage an array formula that returns a value based on a criteria. Simple. But I want to add in an additional couple of criteria. Now I'm stuck....
My sheet looks at a manually entered postcode, finds out what region this is in, and returns a list of postcode I have defined as being in that region. (So the postcode WF1 3JY would return a region of Yorkshire, and list postcodes of WF, BD, L, etc)
I also have a list of engineers, with a column for their home postcode.I want to be able to list all the engineers from my list whose home postcode matches any of the values on the already created list from the postcode and region entered. So far I have this, which finds me all the engineers for just one postcode area.
I would like to be able to use the Vlookup function to return more then one value as a result of the criteria. I have a cloumn of dates that populates the X axis of a gantt chart with data whilst the Y axis will be populated by a site reference resulting in a program of work, the Y axis data is the result of a vlookup function. My difficulty arises however with multiple sites, for instance where two or three sites will be visited on the same day. The vlookup function will only return the first value it finds in a range to the formulated cell. The result being a missing site(s) from the gantt chart / work program. is it possible to return all values to a cell i.e. site1, site2, site3. using a vlookup or do i need to use another method of doing this?
I am trying to look & match key values from 2 areas of one table with two areas of another table; in turn, it'd return one value based on the lookup table...
I need to populate the Rep Names looking up 3 Criteria (Client Id,Curr Cov Id,Dom Buy Grp Id) from the Table 1, either one matches the Rep Names has to populate.
The data has to be pasted on WIP_Sheet in different columns.
I have a bill of materials with a description column. I want to search that column for various words (ie. wheel, screw, spacer, shelf, etc) and return a value into another new column depending on that value (wheel inputs wheel, screw inputs hardware, spacer inputs hardware, shelf inputs shelf).
How Excel shows you how to search will only return one value because I can't use an else statement:
I need one formula to copy and paste the checkcard data changing it from this "CHECKCARD XXXXXX5623" to "CHECKCARD 5623", but I need one formula to look for multiple known checkcard numbers. I will have more then one typically in the bank download so I need to search and copy at least two known numbers as shown below.
I am providing the formula that I am using right now, "=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("5623",B3)),RIGHT(B3,41),"")" but it only works for one checkcard number? Also I don't really need to capture the DEBIT or CREDIT that will always be at the end, it would be redundant. If it's easier to write the formula including that data that is no problem. What I want to copy and move into an adjacent cell is in red.
Here is the source data: Row 2 - SONIC DRIVE IN#1531 AUSTIN TXDEBIT FOR CHECKCARD XXXXXX5623 DEBIT Row 3 - JASON'S DELI # 125 Q64 AUSTIN TXDEBIT FOR CHECKCARD XXXXXX9718 DEBIT
I am working on creating a spreadsheet that can be updated by those unfamiliar to excel. I have a master list on one sheet and three separate lists for business, individual, and general. Each list has three columns giving name, address and postal code. There are numerous repeats on these lists and I wanted to hide any duplicates while keeping my cells aligned. So far I have been able to highlight any duplicates, but was interested in some function that would save at least one duplicate while hiding any additional ones.
I want to build a database where the user can select a specific time period. I have a static file with the time periods and the related values. For instance I have in column A1:A15 the time periods from January 2011 to Dezember 2011, but I have some dates multiple times as there are more values attached to it. For instance I have in the first 4 rows January 2011...what I want is when someone puts in the value January 2011 in cell B1 and Dezember 2011 in cell B2 that the whole static file gets copied to another location (including the multiple dates) displaying the chosen time period. Similarly if someone puts in the value March 2011 to November 2011, I want only those values to be copied.
I maintain the data flow at my work. We send and receive the data using excel files with specific formatting that I then upload to the database. Each time I send or receive the excel file I must log them, this is what my code question refers to.
I use RDBMerge to merge all the contents of the 100 plus excel files into one worksheet. The first part of the macro cleans up the merge data for use in the log (i have attached an example of the clean data and finished log).
The blue shaded area of the "Raw_Data" is what the clean data looks like, the yellow column is what current macro records for each record.
As you can see by the example the Raw_Data is only two files LL_LLL_BOB_ToLLLLL_20121228_01 & LL_LLL_BOB_ToLLLLL_20121230_01, each with more that one record.
The log code in column "H" Is based on this criteria: First Letter of the Unique ID in column "E" - O, M, or L Program Type in Column "F" - U or R 1. O-U = U 2. O-R = RU 3. M-U = U2 4. M-R = R2U 5. L-R = R
You will note that Columns G-R of the "Log Sheet" correspond to the "Record Type" found in Column "G" of the "Raw_Data" sheet.
This is the area where my skill at using scripting dictionaries fails.
The results for the log list each file only once, but the log code for each corresponding "Record Type" in columns G-R of the "Log Sheet" must contain each unique instance of the code. In other words
if LL_LLL_BOB_ToLLLLL_20121228_01 contains an O-U with an "A" Record Type and an M-R with an "A" Record Type; then, on the log sheet there needs to be the codes "U/R2U" in the cell intersection of the LL_LLL_BOB_ToLLLLL_20121228_01 record row and "A" column (which is column "G")
So, If the File contains one of each code for each Record Type the corresponding cell must house one of each code separated by a "/" without any spaces. This means the cell value could no code, or one code and all the variations in between to all five codes. Also, for ease of human reading the log codes should be concatenated in the 1-5 order that I listed them in (U/RU/U2/R2U/R)
Here is my code so far.
VB: Option Explicit Sub test() Dim dic As Object, a, i As Long, rng As Range, e, w, n As Long Set dic = CreateObject("Scripting.Dictionary")
I have an Excel Spreadsheet (2007) that contains over 500,000 records that shows Electric meter usage per month over a 24 month period per meter. What I want to be able to do is to select a meter row per number and copy is to it's own worksheet. At the end - I want to be able to have a seperate worksheet per electric meter number - that I can create a graph. If I go through all 9000 meters and copy and paste into a different worksheet - it will take me weeks to do manually. How can I do this automatically?
two formulas for one data set. The data is attached in the spreadsheet: "Product IDs". The data is a set of Master Product IDs (parent) and the Linked to them Products (children). I need to create a relationship between unique parents (Master Product IDs) and their children (Linked Products)
I need to create two formulas:
1. From the Data Set table, need to vlookup the unique value in column A (Master Product ID) and return comma delimited (concatenated) corresponding values from column B (Linked Products). So, the result will be as shown in Table 2.
2. From the Data Set table, need to vlookup the unique (de-duplicated) parent/children relationship in column A (Master Product ID) and return comma delimited (concatenated) corresponding values from column B (Linked Products). There are total 3 parent/children relationships in Table 1. So, the result will be as shown in Table 3.
In sheet1, I have the borrowers and outstanding per employee. In the Area Avg sheet, I have the average borrowers and outstanding in each area as this is the standard for comparison (I got this through the subtotal function).
Now what I have to do is in sheet1, format(change the color) each cell under borrowers which is greater than the average of the relevant area. Since, (in my actual data) the name of the area may be duplicate in different regions, the reference value (average borrowers of the area) from "Area Avg" sheet has to be traced through multiple criteria which are: Division, Region and Area. The same also has to be done for outstanding but the solution can be provided for borrowers only.
In my userform I have a list of check box's that can be selected. Currently if more than one is selected, they will appear in the spread sheet in the same line one after another with a space between them. How do I make it so they either appear with a comma appearing after each, so the next value appears on the next line below or most perferably the cell turning to a drop down list with the values?
Current code
VB: If CheckBox1.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox1.Caption If CheckBox2.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox2.Caption If CheckBox3.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox3.Caption If CheckBox4.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox4.Caption If CheckBox5.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox5.Caption If CheckBox6.Value = True Then ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value = ws.Cells(iRow, 2).Value & " " & CheckBox6.Caption
Spreadsheet current cell appearence if all 6 are selected ' Chinnook EH101 Lynx Puma Sea King Fixed Wing'
Required appearence: Chinnook EH101 Lynx Puma Sea King Fixed Wing
I am trying to find a formula to count rows that meet multiple criteria, but one of the criteria can be multiple values. I have a list of people with a list of clients that they are responsible for. Each person is responsible for 10-20 clients. Every day I run a report that shows the project worksheets submitted for each client and if money has been awarded or not.
I'm wondering if there is a way to count, for each person, the number of project worksheets that show "awarded" in column K. That would mean that I would have to look for, for each person, any of their multiple clients in column B and "awarded" in column K.
I am trying to put the formula in D2:D9, as I use A2:D9 for a chart. O1:P79 contain the names of the people and the applicants that they are responsible for. A17:D158 contains the list of project worksheets (updated daily). I used =SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIF(B17:B999,P1:P14)) to count the actual number of project worksheets for each person, but I can't figure out a way to modify that to add in the "awarded" criteria also.
I’ve got a folder on drive C named “Customer Sheets”. In this folder at any time there could be over 500 individual customer sheets. i also have a "Summary Workbook" on drive C
What I need is a macro in my "Summary Workbook" that copies cells (“B3, B6, B12, B13, G5, G6”) form every customer sheet in my “Customers Sheets” folder and paste it into my “Summary Workbook” onto sheet2, every customer in a new row.
The “Summary Workbook” should run this macro every time it is opened or on my command so that the database is continually refreshed when a new customer sheet is made.
