I have a training matrix. The following letters represent something F, P & S. and are placed in the matrix. On a seperate sheet I calculate these using the COUNTIF(B2:E7,"F") so on and so on. This is done because the matrix is quite vast and to sit and look through would take an age and I'm already nearly retired lol.
1st question:
Also in the matrix are dates when a student has finally passed a subject is it possible to use the same formula to calculate all these .
2nd question:
I also want to be able to record on a weekly basis how many new subjects have been trained out but don't know where to start . i would like a chart indicating for instance Week 1 5 subjects, Week 2 25 subjects. What i don't want to happen though is when you add Weeks 2 data for Week 1's to increase with it.

I am trying to make my excel sheet more robust to get data on weekly basis. I assign tasks to different members of team by entering the assigned date in column next to the member names. Next week, say on Monday, I need to get total number of tasks assigned for each of the members till Friday (last working day of previous week!). I need to get this data every week.

I have a folder set up on a network drive which contains a workbook for each member of staff (approx 40) to track queries that they receive on a weekly basis Each one of these is called "Query database - Joe" for example. The queries are stored on a worksheet called "Query data" within this workbook and they need to be collated on a weekly basis on a Monday morning and cut and pasted into a master database worksheet again called "Query data" to then carry out analysis on these.

What I am looking to do is have a macro set up that will automatically cut and paste the data that has been input onto each individual worksheet into the master spreadsheet, starting from the next blank line. Each option I have found seems to be set to copy a specific range, or paste to the start of a worksheet each time, rather than finding all of the 'new' data that is there for that week and then adding it to the bottom of the master sheet.

I know this could be easily done with a pivot table but the page format has to remain static and reflect current practises.

At the moment I can only return data from the whole range - not just the desired month.

I'm trying to update an excel document which has a list of employees on it along with their training. Most of the training for individuals needs refreshed in the next year so wanted the table to use the date and perhaps trigger a fill colour change once they are close to needing that training. here's an example

Completed 01/05/10
Refresher required 01/05/14

Once we get a month or two before the required date, I would like the fill colour to change to highlight that they refresher training should be organised soon.

## Cell Formula: All The Links To Update Automatically

I am linking to cells on a spreadsheet and in some cases the formula is showing in the cell and in others the contents of the linked cell. I have forced updating (F9 )and F2 enter with no effect. Is their something i am missing as I want all the links to update automatically. If I copy and paste a working formula into one of these cells it updates albeit with the wrong reference but if i go in and edit F2 etc then it shows as a formula.

I’m working on quite huge spreadsheets. The same formula will be used on more than 30 sheets.

So far if I have to change the formula in one cell I have to go to each sheet and change it manually (which is quite boring and time consuming).

I’m wondering if it’s possible to reference all the formulas on the sheet to one sheet (which some kind of a master sheet with all the formulas).

I can copy the formula with the “Past Special” function but the function is not updating if I change the formula on the main sheet.

So is it possible to link it and that it’ll be updated automatically when I’m changing the formula on the main sheet?

I suspect this is due to the formula I've used columns H and I. But I have no solution.

In cell b5 I have =today() which automatically updates the date on a daily basis. What I would like to happen is for each day there is a new line is automatically inserted with the date so:

I am not really that good with macros or VBA but feel that is the only option to solving this problem. Also would everything still update even if the file wasn't opened for lets say the weekend. I actually wanted to get a future date using a Dynamic two day off as my the offs keep on changing as well as incorporate Holidays and Leaves if any..

Now Holidays would be official Public Holidays and
Leaves would be taken by the employee..

The code needs to pick the Leaves + Holidays and different offs maybe even more than 2 offs...

I have the following setup:

52 weeks of 2010 cost with the following structure:

weekly cost | 57,000 | 35,000 | 42,000

I want to be able to use the above data to present a summary, but instead of weekly, list the data on a monthly basis:

month | Jan | Feb | Mar
monthly cost | wk1-4 | wk5-8 | wk9-12+3days wk13

Any way to set this up automatically instead of having to split the weekly data as many months share the same weeks?

I have a basic formula =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'!C24, and I want to copy it down just using the drag function. Problem is that the second reference range of cells are in rows and hence when I copy it down it doesn’t automatically update the cell references because it want to update them by column number instead of row number. IE I want it to display =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'!
D24, instead of C25. Do you know if there is any way of telling Excel that I want it to increase the column number by 1 every time, instead of the row number for this part of the formula?

I have 02 separate excel workbooks
01 = source file
02 = data list

The workbook "source file" contains all the data
The workbook "data list" contains data for work with Drop-down list. And i can easily select my required description by just dropping down the list.

In case, i have new description i add it in the source file and it is updated in the working "data list" sheet.

This applies to Field device column also. But i want to improve the selection criteria by creating such script or formula which could check the input of the description and automatically selects the field device and its relevant signal (output type).

In the attached workbook, the CASTINGS worksheet has a SOH ( stock on hand) column.
It looks up the SOH from the SOH worksheet (column 3) for each product on order for that week.

But how do I make week 2 use the SOH figure minus the previous weeks order, IF there was an order?

And so on until week 52.

The problem I have found is what if that product wasnt ordered for the last 4 weeks? Maybe I need a temp worksheet with all the products listed for all the weeks and a running total of SOH weather it is ordered or not?

In MS-Excel 2007 dates seem to be limited to YYYY/MM/DD style, which I imagine there is a way to alter it into MM/DD/YYYY. I looked into MS Help, and a google search, and either I was using wrong keywords, or not, but I couldn't find anything to simply change date arrangement. If I am being unclear, I am talking about the function '=DATE(YYYY/MM/DD)' is what I want to change.

After I get that fixed, I need there to be a function to reproduce a 3-day work week (Mon, Tue, and Thur). e.g.:

## Create Graph Of Date Hits Using Weekly Range?

I'm trying to create a line graph to show the trends of usage. I have a list of dates that I pulled from a website. I am trying to create a function that will count the number of dates between, for example, 8/5/2013 and 8/11/2013.

I had tried using this function to create a set of weekly ranges. =TEXT(DATE(2013, 1, 7)+(ROW(2:2)-1)*7, "m/d/yyyy h:mm AM/PM")&"-"&TEXT(DATE(2013, 1, 7)+(ROW(2:2)-1)*7+6,"m/d/yyyy h:mm AM/PM")

It correctly displays the date ranges, however when using this function:
=COUNTIF(\$E\$2:\$E\$305, A2) Nothing gets pulled.

Here is one of the dates that has been pulled for example: 8/5/2013 11:10:00 AM

## Weekly Chart With Ability To Change Start Date

I have a simple bike log that lists out each day of the month in rows with a summary row between months. Like this...

January Summary

Jan 3
....
Jan 31
February Summary

Feb 3

Feb 28

and so on. Each column has a data field where I enter in miles and distance and so on. I frequently add rows if I do two rides in a day so two rows may start with "January 23rd". I would like to have a chart that shows me my weekly ride summary. But I have some issues:
1. With the field summary I don't know the best way to do a chart that doesn't include the summary (the summary data would throw the chart way off)
2. If I have multiple rides in a day I don't know how to make the week include those days
3. I may want the week to start on Monday and not Sunday. Is it possible to have the user choose and have the chart change automatically?
