Hide Columns, Filter & Copy Visible To New Workbook

Jun 4, 2007

I have an Excel sheet with all client information...For clinical supervision I want my team members to open their own "Supervision.xls" and click a button...this button will open "Client.xls" and select "Client info sheet"...It will then hide rows c,d,g & f...it will then filter column "e" based on the specific caseworkers name ( say "Joe") and copy only the visable columns back to their "supervision.xls" Values only (doesn't effect the colour formating of Supervision.xls) then close "Client.xls"

Copy Filter Data And Paste It On Another Workbook With Special Cells (Only Visible Cells)

Apr 12, 2014

I am using code to filter my 4 sheets Greater then 0 (zero)

After apply above filter now i need to copy multiple rows and paste on another specific workbook for paste i m using below code:

for 1st sheet with the name ("V2")

for 2nd sheet with the name("LV")

For 3rd sheet with the name ("F2")

and 4th sheet with the name("L2")

If I play above code one by one all is going very well,,,,,,or if use in this way all is going very well

But here is a big problem..........if any sheet have no value greater then 0(zero)....then code paste all data... e.g shssts("LV") .Range("C5:C54").Copy but C5:C54 have no data greater then 0(zero) and it will paste on another sheet c5:c54 and again new sheets data will paste below the c54 while c5:c54 have no data.

So I want if any sheet have no data with range is greater then 0(Zero) then skip the copy paste code or use like SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible) .

Hide Empty Columns After Filter

Nov 28, 2007

I am trying to hide empty columns, excluding the header, from data that has been auto filtered. I can accomplish this when the data is not filtered by hiding columns that are empty below the header.

My question is: How do I get the "For each Col in Activesheet..." loop to only apply to the filtered values and not those that are hidden.

VBA To Hide / Show Columns Based On Filter And Multiple Criteria

Mar 8, 2014

I have a very large table and i need to be able to Hide/show specific ranges based on:

Filter +and+ specific cell values in columns

brief example of the table : tablee.png

So...
1. Filter Column "B" (in this case we select "HELPING")
2. Auto hide/show collumns. - IF "C1" = "Required" THAN Show "C:E", IF "C1" ="N/A" , HIDE "C:E" and so on for every column like above.

There are over 80 columns like the "C:E" range. and I only need to show those that are "Required".

VBA Macro To Filter Rows By Cell Value & Hide Blank Columns

Oct 1, 2008

i have created a spreadsheet to simplify our work flow, I am stuck on what is probably the easiest of the commands.

basically have rows dedicated to specific codes and the colums represent values relating to each code, all codes have a different set of values, the attached example only has a few variables but the actual worksheet will have several hundred.

the idea is the user will input the code they wish to get details on in A2 and then press the command button and it will then show (as per the after sheet in the attachment) just the relevant information for that code, so filter the code in column A and hide the columns which hold no value.

where i am getting stuck is I am not sure the best way to proceed, is it best to create the macro button to do the filter and hide or is there a better way using vlookup and a pop up window asking for the relevantcode to be inputted to to retrive the information, again understand there will be hundreds of colums and hundreds of rows and the values may be 20 or 30 colums apart for some of the Codes so this simplification is really saving the user a lot of time.

Hide Certain Columns In The Workbook

Sep 5, 2008

My goal is to be able to hide certain columns in the workbook based upon certain criteria. Moreover, I need to be able to hide columns in a certain tab even if I working in a different tab (i.e. if I am in Tab "A", I want to be able to hit "Ctrl + Alt + X" and be able to hide columns in Tab "B").

In order to accomplish this, I selected the Visual Basic icon. I then clicked on the "Insert" drop down menu and selected "Module". I have included a sample of the code that I wrote and inserted in to the module (see below). This general pattern of code repeats itself for 16 different macros - all in this same module.

Sub Macro01()
Worksheets("Input - Historical Financials").Columns("A:AD").Hidden = False
Worksheets("Input - Historical Financials").Columns("D:AD").Hidden = True

End Sub

Sub Macro02()
Worksheets("Input - Historical Financials").Columns("A:AD").Hidden = False
Worksheets("Input - Historical Financials").Columns("F:AD").Hidden = True

End Sub

VBA To Copy Specific Columns After Filter Applied

Feb 4, 2014

Sheet one contains a table of table from C6:AY7000

On Sheet 2, I want to create a summary of data from Sheet 1 based on 2 Criteria which applies to column I and N.

On Sheet 1, I have put in a formula to link to sheet 2 for the criteria to make things easier.

So BN3 = Sheet2C3
And BN4= Sheet2C4

I have managed to run my coding to filter the data that I correctly want to copy and paste onto sheet 2 - however I only want to copy specific columns.

This is the coding I have written to select and filter the correct data values.

Sub AddFilter()
'
' AddFilter Macro
'
Dim rCrit1 As Range, rCrit2 As Range
With Application
.EnableEvents = False
.ScreenUpdating = False

[Code] .......

This now gives me the correct data in the table.

I want to copy the visible cells from this table but only for columns e, dr, r, v, w, o, z, AD, AG, AQ, AW, AY

The copied data will then be pasted into sheet 2 starting in cells B9

I plan to attach a button on sheet 2, so when the user updates the values in C3 and C4, this will update values in BN3 and BN4 on sheet1, they can run my macro which will go to sheet 1, filter the data on what they have entered and paste the correct values.

Hide All Sheets Except Those Previously Visible

Mar 23, 2014

Here is what I think I want to do (however there may be a better way to get to the end result).

Macro 1:
Unhide all worksheets however, first list only the worksheets that are visible.

Macro 2:
I want to be able to hide all worksheets except those in the above list.

My intent would be to have these in the personal file so I could run either process on any file I have open so I think I would need to insert a tab for the list when unhiding & remove the tab after hiding.

I have found many strings unhiding all & hiding all except a named sheet... but can't find anything on the above?

Delete Visible Rows After Auto-Filter & Exclude Headings

What I mean is after setting a filter, then deleting all shown rows except row 1, (Titles)
I did a search but nobody seams to have asked this yet, so recorded it, but that did not seam to enlighten me much either.
Or is this the wrong approach, should I delete using a loop, using the filtered criteria as to say delete row, or move on to the next row?, this would be far more time consuming as when all can be deleted at once if possible of corse.

Hide And Password Protect The VBA Code So That They Can't Just Change The Pictures Visible Section To True

Nov 7, 2008

I've used VBA to make a picture appear when all the correct answers have been entered and it all works well. However, not to be too mean to 15 year olds, many of my students can be devious little feckers, and I want to hide and password protect the VBA code so that they can't just change the pictures visible section to true. I can password protect the workbook and worksheet, but not the VBA.

I'm entering the Visual Basic editor and I can see my simple script. I then click Tools - VBproject properties - protection. I'm clicking the "Lock Project for Viewing" box then filling in the password and confirming the password and clicking OK. But I can still see and edit my script, despite protecting the sheet and workbook.

2) Is there a way to select the workbook from were to copy the column without needing it to actually open?
3) is there a way to paste the columns starting from row 3 instead of row 1 (Range("C1").Select)?
