Identify Duplicates Across Multiple Colums And Rows

I have a spreadsheet with 20+ columns. Each column contains a list of invoice numbers, eg, 1234. The lists are all of different lengths (see below). I want to find a way to find/highlight/identify those invoice numbers that appear more than once in the entire sheet (eg if invoice 1234 is listed in column B, and also in column H, and/or if invoice 5678 is listed in column A, and also in column J, and also perhaps in column D, etc.)

I've searched this forum but haven't found anything about searching for multiple duplicates in multiple columns. Ideally the matches would be highlighted in different colours, (eg all cells that contain 1234 would be red, those that contain 5678 would be blue, etc., for ease of identification) but I'm not sure if that's possible. I've attached an example that I've shaded myself to show what I mean. I've tried the MODE function but that only tells me which invoice number occurs the most.

Spreading A Value Over Multiple Colums/rows

I need to have a macro of formula that would take a cell's value (value1)and spread it over equally over a number (value2) of columns across

A B C D E ...

etc.

The expectation is to place a formula like this:
=dividevalue(A1,A3) in Col3 and it does the rest magically!

Best Way To Parse Colums And Rows W/ Multiple Values Separated By Comma?

I routinely have do download massive data sets of reporting that is saved as an excel spreadsheet. The three columns of sample data attached are Report Numbers, Report Evaluation Serial Numbers, and Report Evaluator ID.

As seen in the attached spreadsheet, there can be multiple Report Numbers (in same field separated by comma) which have been evaluated by different Evaluators. It is my responsibility to account for the number of Reports that have been evaluated, and many other metrics from like data. The issue I have is when more than one report number is listed in the same field I need to parse the data into its own field for ease of counting (and also maintain the adjacent data). It is not a problem to merely copy the fields and delete the excess numbers, however when dealing with thousands of Reports, and Evaluators this can be very time consuming. In the attached file I have separated .xls into three workbooks to help explain my problem: Initial state of Data; What I need To Parse Out; and The final endstate I require. I hope that I have explained this issue with enough detail. I am sure that the attached file will explain better.

I need to identify the errors, duplicates, typos and such between two spreadsheets of over 4000 rows of data each. The Macro: I got a macro working, but it's not perfect. So far, it can only tell data that's missing on spreadsheets A, or B. However, it can't tell which are the duplicates, typos, etc. Please look at the sample for more details. I have a sheet with products and information regarding these products. It is consistently build up in a 5-row information block per product like:

A1: name
A2: info
A3: price
A4: to be deleted
A5: to be deleted

What I want:

A1: name
B1: description
C1: Price

For product 2 it should:
A6 -> A2
A7 -> B2
A8 -> C2
A9 -> to be deleted
A10 -> to be deleted ..etcetera

The Macro should loop until no data is found in the A column. Note: some of the 2nd rows (information) are not filled. They can't be deleted but need to be left empty!

Identify Duplicates

I have two worksheets one worksheet contains Insurnace names and Addresses from a hospital. I need to match these up to specific Insurance codes from a billing company worksheet. The bad thing is my billing database has multiple duplicate addresses for different insurances (Yes this does happen where different Insurances have the same address-don't ask me why). So originally I did a VLOOKUP where I looked up the address from the hospital Spreadsheet and matched it to the Insurance Specific code. The pitfall to doing it this way is that it only grabs the first exact match from the Billing worksheet. Is there a way to either automatically identify the possible matches and allow me to choose which one is the exact match or how do I just identify duplicates on my billing worksheet and match them manually? I attached the worksheet.

VBA For Filter To Hide Colums & Rows

I have a parts index containing 500+ rows of data, I also have multiple columns in which I can sort the data.

I would like to have a button fixed in cell C4, D4, E4, etc... row 4 is the header, that when clicked, will filter all rows that have a selection (non-blanks) for only that column. So If I have data in various rows & column (C5:F500) that when I click on the button in cell D4, only the data listed in the various rows of D5:D500 are shown and columns C, E & F are hidden. Clicking cell D4 will show all data.

I can create the button so that it is sized specific to the cell and follows the cell sizing and I can create a button to filter only columns D or E or F, etc... but that means that each button is a separate VBA, macro.

A while ago I found a VBA code that allowed me to sort rows Asending/Desending depending on which button in which column was clicked... See inset: and this allowed me to add columns without changing the code. So I think If I can modify this code this will work great for me..

However, i receive a #REF# return in D. What am I missing ?

I need to identify duplicates in a list and have the foilowing formula:

=IF( COUNTIF(range1,A2)>1,"Duplicate","")

This works ok but i have a further condition which i dont know how to factor into the formula. I think i could write some vba to determine the dupes but i was hoping to avoid this as im sure it will take me an hour or so. Duplicates are identified at the moment as being identical numbers in column "amount", i now need to specify duplicates as being identical numbers in this range where there is at least one row with no pay date filled in in col "paydate"

Identify Duplicates Between 2 Columns Of Different Sheets

I have two spreadsheet in which I am looking for duplicate customer names.

1st - "Customers"
2nd - "Orders"

In column A of my Customers spreadsheet I have the following formula
=IF(ISERROR(MATCH(E2,Orders$D2:D1000,0))=FALSE, "Y","N"). This allows me to see if a name in my Customer spreadsheet (column E is a field of names) is also in my Orders spreadsheet (column D is a field of names). My end results is either a Y indicating a duplicate or a N for no duplicates.

What I am looking to do next is to place in column B of my Customers spreadsheet the date that coincides with the duplicating customer name. Sorry to be confusing. If a customers name is found in the Orders spreadsheet I need to know what date has been given to this customer (column L in the Orders spreadsheet contains the date information).

However, on numerous occasions a customers name is found in the Orders spreadsheet more than once meaning there may be more than one date which needs to be placed in column B of my Customers spreadsheet.

Selecting Values In Multiple Colums For A Sum

I am trying to create a spreadsheet to select different values. I have 5 columns with type A values then 3 cols with type B values, a blk col then 1 cols with type B values and 5 cols with type A values then 1 cols with type B values and 2 cols with type A values a blank 1 col with a B value, 2 cols with A values and 2 cols with B values. I need to select 5 lowest values from this set but a minimum of three A values need to be used. I have used the min, small 2, small 3 for the A set then used an IF statement for the fourth value. The formula returns the correct sum for values up to the fourth value. The problem comes on the fifth value. I am attaching the formula I started with.

Averages, Mins And Max On Colums With An Insane Amount Of Rows

I have a problem with a data set that I'm working on. Basically, I've got a data set that was downloaded from a weather station. I need weather data like average temperature, maximum temperature, minimum temperature for each day over a 90 days period. This is simple enough.

The problem, however, is that the weatherstation has been sampling every 5 minutes. In the data sheet, each day is represented by 12*24 rows of data (12 samples per hour times 24 hours). The total dataset across all days is something close to 26000 rows!

Of course, I can spend hours doing all this by manually by average(), min() and max() and then selecting the cells I want it to apply to each time, but the thought of doing so makes me wince. I would have to do it 90 times per column across hundreds of cells each time and I'm after much more than just temperatures.

Is there a less labour intensive way of doing this?

I can't figure out a solution.

4 columns, thousands of rows.

Column A has alphanumeric data that can appear, once, twice, 3 times or 4, but never more than 4.

I want to see this spreadsheet so that each piece of data in column A is presented only once.

The information in the other 3 columns isn't important for what I want to do, so I need to reduce 20000 + rows, which includes many duplicates in Column A to about 5-60000, but need help figuring the correct formula/macro ....

- Some of the 8 digit numbers are duplicated.
- In Column B I would like to have more of a combination of countif and listing the duplicates in order (1 for the first dup in the column, 2 for the 2nd, etc.)

I have a macro that performs Index&Match formulae on another workbook. This leaves me with some #N/A results. I then require the macro to delete all rows that contain #N/A. I have tried to identify these via

If Range("E" & myLoop).value = "#N/A"

and

If Application.WorksheetFunction.Isnumber(Range("E" & myLoop).Value) = False

but each one gives me a Run Time Error 13 (Type Mismatch) because, even though the results are now values and not formulae, it sees '#N/A' as an error (Error 2042).

I have two sheets with many rows and about 8 columns. The second sheet is some of the rows copied and pasted from the first sheet. I have been asked to mark on the first sheet those rows that have been copied to the second sheet.

I need to check that the entire row matches before somehow making the corresponding row in the "original" sheet stand out.

Unfortunately, there is no unique identifier that I can search by. I have tried concatenating all columns into a new column on each sheet and then using MATCH but I get #VALUE! error.

Identify Multiple Locations More Than X Miles Apart

I need quickly identifying multiple locations based on their proximity to an initial location and each subsequent location selected. I have attached an example spreadsheet that is structured in the following manner:

Cell H2 is the 'initial' location that will be used to identify all subsequent locations
Colums A through C are location specific details including latitude and longitude of all 450 possible locations
Column D is a distance calculation based on the difference betwen the location in column A to the 'initial' location in cell H2
Cell F2 is the necessary minimum distance between locations(in miles)
Cell G2 is the number of locations needed(this will vary)

What I am trying to accomplish is to fill column H with the number of locations specified in cell G2 that are atleast the minimum distance in F2 apart from each other, like drawing virtual circles around the locations on a map.

I am pretty sure this can be done with a Macro, but am not sure if that is the best solution or not. I am a novice Excel user, so even though I don't know the solution, I can already see two issues:

1. Whatever the solution is, the reference in column D will need to change to calculate the distance for each subsequent location instead of staying absolute with cell H2(H3 for second location, H4 for 3rd, etc...)
2. With each selection that is made, any location less than the specified distance in cell G2 should be removed from any future choices for subsequent locations.
