Live Currency Rates
I know that Excel has a function to import currnecy rates from the MSN Money web site. But MSN Money doesn't support all currencies. I would like to build an excel sheet where a user can maintain the currency codes and the currency rate is being fetched from the internet. Does anybody have a suggestion from where I could get currency rates into Excel?

Missing Rates
i have a bunch ofdaily rates back from 2005. sometimes ill have one or even 2 or 3 missing rates in a row. when there is a blank rate, i just want excel to calculate the average of the date below and the date after. right now, ive just been going manually to each missing date's rate and calculating the average.

Calculating Success Rates
I have three columns. The first column contains a certain category ( i.e. Cat 1, Cat 2, ect.), and the second and third columns contain numbers referring to that category: Ex: A1 B1 C1 Cat 1 6 5 I want to be able to find the success rate (C1/B1), but I want Excel to recognize what category it belongs too so I can split the success rates into categories in a different location. What function, if there is one, do I use, and what information do I need to plug in.

Updating Hourly Rates
I am trying to create a conditional formula. I have multiple workers that work for different $$ per hour. I am keeping the hourly rates on one page for security purposes (the person that is going to be updating the hours worked is not very computer savy and they less they have to type the better) and the hours on another... I want copy a formula down the page that will calculate the hours to the hourly rate. The issue is that i want the formula to look at all of the hourly rates (assume they get raises) for Joe and multiply the most recent hourly rate times the hours... in addition I don't want the formula to re-calculate when a new hourly rate is put into the hours sheet. Example Jan. 1 joe works 8hours at $10 per hour formula in A1 (or wherever) calculates $80 Jan. 2 joe gets $1 raise Jan. 2 Joe works 8 hours at $11 per hour formual in A2 calculates $88 but formula in A1 maintains the $80 and does not calculate the $1 raise.

Grid To Determine Interest Rates
I have a grid to determine interest rates. The are add ons to the rate that are dependent on two factors - the credit score and the Loan to Value percent or LTV, both of which are shown in terms of ranges (720-739, etc). See the screen shot below. I have already written formulas for converting the score and LTV to the ranges as they appear on the sheet (ie, if you type in a score of 722, the formula converts it to the range of 720-739. What I need to do is this - when the score and LTV are input and determine which set of add ons come into play, I need the sheet to take those add-ons, identified by an x next to it at the top of the page, and add them to the base interest rate, giving me the final rate. Again, see below to make this more clear. I've thought of using VLookup, but I don' think that would be applicable here. What's the best method, and can you give me an example of what a formula might look like? Calculation Time And Charge Rates
I am trying to figure out a formula to figure out how much to charge for hrs of a rental. There is an automatic $1000 charge regardless of time used. the rate chart is as follows: $1000 + hourly charge = total =<50 hrs= $15/hr >50hrs but <100hrs= $6.50/hr >100hrs=$4.10/hr ex: so is A1= 200hrs then i want B1 to equal $1820.($1000 + (200 x 4.1))=1820. I have an idea on how to write the formula, but i am having a little bit of trouble with it.

Macro To Access A Website And Copy Exchange Rates
My task is to somehow access [url] and copy the exchange rates on the table to my Excel workbook. Obviously a macro will not record outside of the Excel program, so I am just wondering if this is possible at all (without hacking of course). My plan B is to have the user manually enter the exchange rates.

Logging Live Data
I'd like to log live update data continuously,i.e. as the data in the cell changes. The problem I'm facing is that the data comes in at uneven intervals-- ranging from 30 to 50 ticks per second. So I can't really use a timer function. I need to use some function which saves the data as the cell value changes. So, for example, if cell A1 gets updated continuously, cell B1 could save the first value of A1 and then cell B2 could save the second value of cell A1-- and so forth.

Consolidating Live Tables
I have two tables that pull data from two different SQL tables via an ODBC connection and refresh every 5 minutes. The table headers etc are all identical (it is support call information FYI) but what I want to do is display those tables as one as opposed to two seperate tables - can this be done relatively easily and hopefully without the use of VBA? Multiple Live Feed / Data
I have set an excel spreadsheet set up to update live data from a URL every 5 minutes. However I am wanting to do try and save a bit of time if possible. Basically I am monitoring horses bought on a game website. Each horse has the same URL except for the number at the end which goes up in 1 increments. The URL is already set up and when the horse is bought it changes from being blank to having the horses details etc. At the minute I am able to autofill cells with each uinique URL using fill, then series menu. This is so I dont have to manually enter each URL, as hundreds may be bought each day so it would take too long to do this. My question is this, am i able to have a automatic series linked to the 'data from web' function in data tab, instead of having to manually adjusting each URL for each individual horse.

Running excel 2002, windows vista (some machines on network are running xp). VB Code For Conditional Formatting On Live Value Cell
Is there a way to look at a cell's own value and then format it accordingly using VB? I have a cell whose value changes based on DDE link to live price data. Cell is "Q5". When the new value is greater than the old value - i want to format the pattern color of the cell. When the new value is less than the old value - i want to format the pattern color of the cell. Charting Live Horse Racing Odds
I have a line graph which I use in conjunction with live horseracing odds. On the vertical axis are the odds which are sourced from a worksheet. Each horse is represented by a data series that moves along the horizontal axis. The refresh rate is determined by the user embedded in the code. I would like to expand the length of each data change along the horizontal axis as the data can be volatile. Sometimes there are rapid changes on the vertical axis which makes it difficult to interpret. With each refresh the line data moves about 3mm. It would be much better if it were about 5mm, especially as I now use a widescreen display. There are no values on the horizontal axis as such, only time is suppose set by Excel?

Here's all I'd like to do~I'm a small business owner and I need to create an excel list of potential work contacts. The contacts are listed on a web page like this aerographics Los Angeles 310. 240. 3308 Now, on the web page if you click on aerographics it takes you to the website. I'd like to copy and paste those same three entries from the webpage in to an excel sheet~and be able to click on aerographics and have it take me to the site. I searched this site and couldn't find the problem replicated. I've tried paste special~it formats the entries I want as URL's, but when I click on them nothing happens. I can type www.googl.com in to a cell and it instantly works as a link. And I have about 500 of this type entry/copy and paste to do so making a hyperlink is impractical.

Calculate Pay For Shift Work With Different Rates Based On Shift Hours
a person works for certain hours and get paid according to the hours worked either by day or by night or a mix of both. Day payment is $8 when worked between 08:00 and 19:59 , night payment is $12 when worked between 20:00 and 07:59. Currency Sign
I have a very frustrating problem with my business plan i am writing in Excel. every so often it crashes and when I open it again all the £ signs have turned to $ signs and i have to go through and painstakingly change them all. This also happens even if I just close the file carefully and open it up again. Currency Conversion
I am working on a sheet that logs sales enquiries and quotations. The quotations may be made in either Dollars, Euros or Pounds. However, I want the 'reporting' column to be Pounds. I would appreciate any advice on the simplest way of achieving this. Imagine column A is dollars, column B is Euros and column C is pounds. Most of the time the quotations are done in pounds and the other two columns will be blank. Also, there will only ever be one figure quoted per row. Would it be easier to create a fourth column (D) to consolidate the three separate figures together? We are using fixed exchange rates for the year, so to convert to pounds we will multiply any dollar quotations by 0.5 and any euro quotations will be multiplied by 0.69.

Live Capture Of "Orbits" Race Data
I have a program running on my computer called Orbits. What Orbits does is monitor a race track, and via a transponder in each race car, when a race car crosses the start/finish line Orbits will record that infomation. The orbits program continually feeds data out the port 50000. I can start hyper-terminal (yes the free one that comes with windows) and create a link the the computer running orbits. I use IP and port (Ex. 10.0.0.1 and port 50000). Format Textbox For Currency
I need to be able to format a textbox as curancy. Simple enough, right? The problem is that this box is loaded from two sources. The first is automatic using the change event, this works well. The second is to enter directly into the textbox, which requires using the exit event, this also works. The problem comes when I try to use both events. The change event interfers with the direct entry (the format keeps changing the entered value and will not allow the user to finish entering). Automatic Currency Conversion
I'm using excel 2000 Is there anyway to format cells such that I can enter values as Euros and they automatically convert to £ eg If I enter 14.60 (Euros) it automatically displays as £10.00, my conversion rate of 1.46 is constant throughout I know I can do the copy paste special divide thing but the above would be a much nicer solution

AutoFilter Currency Values
I am trying to filter data using VB. I have a bunch of data that has currency. Some of the currency contains cents such as "32.50". I would like a user to be able to enter "32" and have everthing that is 32 dollars pop up even though there is a decimil point with cents in it. In the code below I tried using different variations of the "*" I tried putting it before, after, and both and it still dosen't work. I also tried using Range("Search!D17") as a Value and a Text. Identifying Currency Format
When using the formula '= CELL("format",G3)' the result is ',2' for Euros, US and Canadian Dollars. As you can see in my spreadsheet this does not enable me to calculate sums (ie. Total Canadian Dollars) using the currency format. Is there something other than "format" that would get a more precise result that would differentiate between currencies?

Currency Conversion By Dropdown
I have a sheet of prices in USD, and want to be able to convert those numbers to Euro. I realize there is no formula to do this... I was going to list USD prices in cell A (which I was going to hide), and then in B have a formula to multiple the contents of cell A with the exchange rate. Updating Only Cells Formatted As Currency
I am trying to write some code that will loop through the workbook (selecting all cells formatted as currency), updating the cell value and rounding to 2 decimal places. The updated price must be rounded as these prices are used in calculations. Sumif Based On Currency Format
I have a list of sales made during a certain period. They are either in £ or $ and are in a list. Essentially like this (but with lots more info): sale1 £300 sale2 $450 sale3 £150 etc... What I would like to do is to have two cells at the top which sum only the £ values and a cell whcih sums only the $ values. Is this possible? My idea to was do a sumif formula based on the cell format of the sales value, but I can't see a way of doing this. The only other way I can see is to have a simple addition formula selecting only the certain cells i want, but this would be labour intensive to maintain, as the formula would need to be updated eachtime a new line is added.

Currency Format With 4 Decimal Places
I have a problem with the currency format with 4 decimal places. Sub go() Range("C5") = Range("C5") + Range("C4") End Sub as you can see it adds the conecnt of "R4" to what is in "R5" If works fine when the calls are formatted as number with 4 decimal places. example if R4 is 0.1111 and R5 is 0.2222 after running the macro R5 becomes 0.3333 But if the cells are formatted as currency and 4 decimal places the then excel returns $0.3300

Japanese Currency Custom Format
I would like to set the format of a cell to the Japanese currency format. This means that the comma separator occurs at 4-digit interval instead of 3 (ten-thousand separator instead of thousand separator) like this: 1,000 -> 1000 10,000 -> 1,0000 1,000,000 ->100,0000 1,000,000,000 -> 10,0000,0000 and so on... There are some rules with the decimals, but I will leave that out for now. how to achieve this with either custom format or VBA, instead of initiating system changes?
