Formula: Select A Range Of Dates Within A Range Of Dates?
Jul 22, 2009In column B is a list of dates, which are broken out by fiscal year (FY=7/1/ to 6/30). Column C is a list of dollar amounts. Cell F3 is the query ‘start date’
Cell F4 is today's date, which will be the formula: =today()
Using a date range of F3:F4, I'm trying to get each cell bordered in red to query the dates in column B for each FY; then display the matching sum from column C.
For illustrative purposes I went and manually determined what the values should be displaying as of 7/22. Here are a couple of examples of how I am trying to get the formula to work.
Example 1
FY’08:
Start date- 7/1
End date- 7/22
Searching cells B1:B94, cells B1:B13 fall within the start and end date parameters listed above. Sum of cells C1:C13 is $45,112.00, which should display in cell F6.
Example 2
FY’09:
Start date- 7/1
End date- 12/13
Searching cells B95:B222, cells B95:B149 fall within the start and end date parameters listed above. Sum of cells C95:C149 is $150,873.03, which F7 should display in cell F7. How to I type up this formula; its way more challenging that I first thought!
Pick Range Of Dates And Find Number Of Days Without Sales Between Those Dates

A2 to BF2 is a range of dates
A3 to BF3 are sales. Days without sales are 0.00
I want to pick a range of dates and find the number of days without sales between those dates. So, a formula that will look to a start date in A1 and an end date in B2, and then count the number of days that did not have sales between. Index/Match/Countif/Dateif I can't seem to make anything work.

what i need is so wheni enter 2 dates in 2 cells the system checks all the dates between the two specified and then returns the contents of them to a small area on the page.

Index & Match To Return Value Between Two Dates
Feb 12, 2010how to go about this, as I always get confused with Index and Match. In my example, in col A I have the Beginning of a period, Column B is the End of the Period, and the amount to be matched is in Column D. Range A1 to E4 is the source data. Below that, starting from A9 to A37 are dates. I would like to match the corresponding value in range D2:D3 if the date in range in A9 : A37 falls between the period stated in A2:B3. I've listed how the values should appear in C9:C37.

Mar 19, 2014I've been trying for a few time to make a sub, on VBA, that writes, in a specific column, " " or 1 depending on the date that is inserted. The thing I can't quite do is:
1 - I have a sheet where the different projects of a company are stored (name, starting date, ending date and person responsible) and where new projects can be added from a UserForm
2 - I also have another sheet were costs from the projects are stored (one line with cost 1 from project 1, another with cost 2 also from project 1 and cost 3 from project 2, etc) and where I can also add a new cost with another UserForm (this cost as also a date that is added, to when it happened)
3 - What I need to do is, on the costs' sheet I need to create a sub that in the last column adds me 1 if the date of the cost added is not a date between the starting and ending date of the project that it corresponds.
Using Find Method To Match Dates
Dec 2, 2009I am trying to use the .Find method to match a date. In sheet2 I have a range of cells which are formatted to only show the day "dd" (I could format each cell to show (dd-mmm-yy, etc). In sheet1, I have dates which are formatted as "January 7, 2009"
I want to create a VBA find routine which allows me to match the date from Sheet2 (Ranged between cells A1:Z1) with Sheet1. Then output a MsgBox stating "Match found in cell $A$7 of Sheet1" I have tried a formula similar to:

Index And Match Dates And Values
Jan 8, 2010See my attached spreadsheet. I am trying to get start dates and end dates based upon rates. The first start date is really simple, I just use A2. In F2 should return the last date from A2:A27 where the rate is I2. In E3 The I would like to return the first date in A2:A27 where the rate is G3. and so on. If the rate is 0 then the date can be blank or 1/1/1900.

Mar 18, 2009I am currently using the following formula and it gives the result P-10, P-10, P-11 below dates that are manually entered. I can not figure out why the date 10/31/09 returns a P-11 value when it matches a P-10 value? All other dates work expcept for the 12 period ending dates. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cleaning Data To Match Dates
Jun 21, 2006I have several time series in excel pulled from a datasource on a daily basis, however some series include weekends, some dont and some others have a few days missing. What I did is I already have a column set up with only weekdays on the other sheet, what I am trying to do is match the data with the dates.
The obvious choice is vlookup, but given that I have over 50 time series and the time span is over 10 yrs, its not the optimal solution...it will crash the sheet i think. I also tried a combo of match and index...but same...too many formulas. I think I need a macro. Does anyone who analyzes time series have a "cleaning" code that he oe she can share with me?
Index Match A Value If Date Falls Between Two Dates

Apr 6, 2013what i am trying to do is look at an entire column, and see if that same date exists in the other Activity tab, if the dates match, then show the activity
here is the formula i am using, =IF($A9=Activity!$A2,Activity!$B2,"No Activity")
my problem is that i am only able to isolate one of the cells,, how do i check the entire column?
in other words, if i select two weeks, those two weeks of activity will show, if i select all weeks, all of the weeks activity will show, right now i can only get one of the weeks

Array Formula To Match Closest Dates Based On Another Criteria
Jul 18, 2012I am trying to run an array formula to match two dates on two seperate sheets as close together based on another cell. Below is what I currently have on some made up values. I am entering it as an array and ideally I would like it to run down the cells changing the reference A2 depending on which cell it is then to then enter this into a macro.
The formula I am currently using is:

I can't seem to auto fill the weekdates in the row below. I have to make manual adjustments for each Monday, and for the correct month ends, etc.

I tried excel help and the great OZ but nothing exactly to my problem.
This is what I would like the formula to do.
Cell S5 would search the solutions cells( K5:O7 ) and compare them to either cell ( R5 for all 3 matching digits) or all combinations cells ( D5:I5 ) if a match is there then it would produce a "Win" if no match it would produce a " Lose "
I will need to be able to expand my range because my data will extend in the solution cells

Feb 15, 2010I tried to do this using a IF THEN formula but it doesn't work or more likely I am not writing it correctly or its not the right formula to be using. It's on the attachment.
I have a worksheet that has dates starting from "1/5/2004" to "1/18/2010". Each date is listed in column A.
I want to convert all the dates from MM/DD/YYYY format to only MM/YYYY and have it appear in column B.
The kicker is I need excel to recognize all dates that fall out between"01/01/2004 to 01/30/2004" only as 01/2004 and not 01/01/2004 or 01/30/2004 so on and so forth for each subsequent month and year.

For example Date of Activity - CellBG43 = 10/10/2008
I want to sum the corresponding Cell BJ43 with cost associated with the activity if the date falls between "01/10/2008"and "31/12/2008".

Vlookup Over Range Of Dates
Feb 2, 2010I am making a spreadsheet using excel 2003 to calculate sales and tax. Column B is formated for date (1/1/2010). Column D,E, and F are formatted for currency with column D=Total Price, column E=sale price, and column F=tax. In column B I type the date the transaction took place and in column D I type total price. Columns E and F are automaticly filled in with the formulas for same. In column H,I J row 9 I would like to calculate 1st Quarter Total Price, Sale Price, and Tax. Row 10 would hold 2nd Quarter info and so on. I searched for info but can't come up with any thing that works.

I need code that if a date is entered into "cell C1",that it will evaluate this value and compare and assure that it is between the dates in Range D1:E1 (upper and lower values)
If it is between these two dates, nothing happens and you can proceed to enter data.
If it is not message -Invalid date entered. Proceed? If "Yes" nothing happens and you can proceed to enter data! If "No", then the value in cell C1 is set to nothing and allows you to enter the correct date.
I need to be allowed to enter an incorrect date at times,to review and check previous entries, 99% of the time it must be between the start and stop date.
Unique Dates From Range

I have a sheet that compiles information for different dates (based on a query that is run by the user), and in column H I have a start time that is listed in this format "m/d/yyyy h:mm."
What I need to do is find all of the unique dates "m/d/yyyy" from this given range, and return them in column O.

Vlookup For A Range Of Dates
Sep 3, 2008Here is an example of what I am trying to do. I have a date in column A on Sheet 1. In Column B I want to return the period for which that date falls.
I have created a list of Start and End dates for each period in Sheet2. The start date is in Column A of Sheet2. The End Date is in Column B. And the resulting Period is in Column C.
Basically if the Date in Sheet1 Column A falls in between the start and end date for a specific period. I want that period returned in Column B of Sheet2.

Sep 25, 2006I am trying to figure out how to calculate how many permits were pulled by a specific company during certain dates (qtr). My column headers are (a)Date, (b) Builder. My dates are displayed as "Jan-06" but are entered as "1/1/2006".
How can I show how many permits were pulled by a specific builder during a three month period?
SUMIF, COUNTIF or SUMPRODUCT?
