Macro: Check Cell Values In Column
Oct 13, 2006
I have a requirement where i need to check whether a value is entered in cells within a collumn and if so, it would set a default value to a cell on the same row but with a different collumn. this needs to occur on the run.
there are columns that i need to check and change the status column cell in accordance.
column client_name
clumn date
column start_time
column end_time
column status
first the macro is to check whether there is a client_name, if a value exist (example, smoth, doe, allen) it would set a default value to the status column on the same row as deviation (options are served, queued, deviation).
then it would check if the date & time columns have value and is less than current date time, it would change the status cell to queued.
i know that there are several nested checks (if then if then if then) the problem is that vba is not one of the languages that i master hence im totally lost here.
i can add the finalizing features and rollout the spreadsheet.
and one more thing. i have multiple sheets with the same layout where these checks and changes need to be performed

I'm entering some time data (in format hh:mm) into Columns. Pretty basic Workbook that I have been given and, to be honest, it's just donkey work putting the data in. The times going down the Columns need to be progressive (ie B8 is arrival time, B9 is admission time etc). This goes through to B27 and then repeats from C8-C27 and ultimately J8-J27.
I'm looking for something as a formula to pop into Column K (or VBA, I don't mind!) which will do a simple verification to ensure that the times I enter is not less than the any of the cells above in the aforementioned ranges. I can do simply the cell above, but due to rusting of brain, can't think how to do this for the range!

I am looking for a macro that will check 2 things....then do something.
The first is if a range of cell values in are blank. lets say
Sheets("Sheet1").Range("D6:G48").
Next is if a particular cell contains a given value ,
Sheets("sheet1").Range("E5") should equal "Year 1" if true.
If both these are true then I want the macro to copy a range of cells from
Sheets("Sheet2").Range("H6:H48") to Sheets("Sheet1").Range("D6:D48").
I tried to use IsEmpty but it seems to return a "False" if a range of cells
are being tested.

Below is what Check Hours looks like
I want to the user to press ebutton i.e Sunday and macro does the comparison.
Process
I would like macro to look at sheet "Check Hours" column "E" (cell E4) and compare it against the sheet "Check Employee Hours" column "E" (cell E7). If the hours matches i would like to say OK on sheet "Check Hours" cell E4, if it doesn't match then say CHECK.

Let's say i got something like this
A B C D Result
200 250 Apple 600 Melon
251 450 Orange 225 Apple
451 700 Melon 325 Orange
751 900 Grape 457 Melon
So based on my example above, I have those data from column A to column D Now, how do I check if the value from column D belong to which category from column C based on the column A and B?
225 -> 200~250 -> Apple
325 -> 251~450 -> Orange
etc.
The result will appear on "Result" Column

I'm quite new in VBA and it can become a painful process to complete a working code. What I'm working on is a small process which looks up in individual cells within a range (ccy), for a particular value (EUR or USD) and if it finds that value, another cell in the same row with the value found is entered a certain text. What I wrote is:
Dim ccy As Range
Dim zone As Range
Dim i As Integer ...

I am trying to check column b which hold dates then add up column c if the month is the same
B C
02-may-14 0.05
02-jul-14 1
11-Jun-14 14
20-Jun-14 0.34
26-Jun-14 15
26-Jul-14 21
This what come up with
=SUMIF(B2:B140,"02-jun-14",C2:C140)
But this will only add up dates that are 02-jun-13 I would like it to add up all dates in June.

Basically, what I'm dealing with is an inventory system. When a cell value reaches below a certain quantity, we have a cell light up with the word "YES" (under the "re-order" column). What I'd like to do is have a macro that checks to see if that cell is populated with "YES" and if it is, to run another macro (which I already have written) that sends out an email notifying us of the need to re-order.
How it would work: The person pulling out the inventory would fill out this form and click "Submit"
submitbutton.jpg
I would then have a "call" code tied to the "Submit" button that when clicked, would run the macro to check cell population and send out the email. The email code is already written and works flawlessly on it's own. I just cant seem to figure out how to write a macro that checks for cell value and then runs it (or not) based on that.

Now here's my concern
Row 1 in columns A to D has contant values which came from uploaded excel file.
Now what if I uploaded a file in which column ranges only from A B C only or A C D only.
How Can I display the column which is missing.
I'll show the table below. Here's the complete table
Name
Age
Gender
Bday
asdad
12
F
121212
asdad

M
121212
I want to search if one of those cell (NAme, Age, Gender and BDAY) is missing. Let's say i upload a file like this
Name
Age
Bday
asdad

121212
asdad

121212
How can i show in a message box that Gender is missing.

how to explain this except by showing it, so I explained it as best I could in the attachment. Anyone think they have a solution for this? Let me know if you need more information. Thanks!
the macro will look at the value I entered in cell A1, then find all instances of it in Column A
in every row that A1 matches, if the value in column E is "0", I need the macro to change the value in column E of that row from "0" to (that row's column B * $B$1)

Hi, I'm very new to writing Excel Macro's and wanted to know if I could do the following. Conceptually, I understand what I need done and think it should be fairly straightforward.
There's 2 main events in this loop (I hope that's the correct terminology):
Input 1) User defines the beginning cell to start the loop. In this case, A2.
Input 2) User defines the range of columns/rows to display. The formula for rows that I've thought of is 4r. So if a user wants 20 rows below cells A2, they simply input 5 for r. The number of columns is a constant 5. So if r=5, then I'd want the range to be A2:E22......

8 digit should be "#### ####"
12 digit should be "###### ######"
13 digit should be "# ###### ######"
14 digit should be "# ## ##### ######"
these barcodes are in columns L, M, & N also right now 'm using a formula in another cell to verify the barcodes by calculating the check digit and comparing it to the check digit typed the formula i'm using is

I am trying to write a macro to check a cell value is "Y" before selecting a range and copying to a second sheet, if the cell value is not "Y" I just want an error message.
This is the code I have so far but I have an error, the macro selects the row but does not paste on the second sheet, it does clear the range of data.
Range("L16").Select
Check_Value = "Y"
If ("L16") = "N" Then
MsgBox "Sort Completed Jobs First"
Else
Range("A16:P16").Select
Selection.Copy
Sheets("R2").Select
Range("A1").Select
Myvalue = IsEmpty(ActiveCell)
Do Until Myvalue = True
Myvalue = IsEmpty(ActiveCell)
If Myvalue = False Then ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Select
Loop
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlAll, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks:=False _
, Transpose:=False
End If

I've been searching the forums for this problem but I can't seem to find any answers. Anyway, this is the problem. See screenshot.
I want to compare A1 for the values in column B, then return the corresponding cell (column C) in column D.
e.g. D1 = 2, D2 = 1, D3 = 4, D4 = 5 and D5 = 3.

I have one column of data. there are currently ~10k rows, but this will increase over time. each row has either a single value (example: pepsi) or a comma separated value (google, samsung) with up to 6 commas. instead of the rows looking like this:
pepsi
google,samsung
coca-cola
I want them to look like this in one column (preferably via a formula):
pepsi
google
samsung
coca-cola
I would like the above output to be a unique, alphabetized list.

I have a cell built into my spreadsheet that serves as an error check (i.e. returns the word 'ERROR' if certain criteria are fulfilled on the spreadsheet). I'm trying to write something into a Macro that will check this cell and not allow it to run if it states ERROR, returning a dialog box to notify this, is this possible?

The loop is putting the correct formula into the cell - but THEN... - I wish to (within the loop and before it moves on) check if the value is equal to OR greater than 1 - if it is, make it a value of 1 (this '1' is then used at the bottom of the column of data to give a total). I need to do this before it moves onto the next cell. What am I doing wrong? Is it because once it puts formula in the cell, it then moves down - do I need to select the cell again first? As I had originally posted on this site - link: url]http://www.excelforum.com/showthread.php?t=641970[/url]

I am trying to allow the Command Button when clicked to go through multiple conditions before making a decision. So, when someone clicks on Command Button 3 the code should look to see if CheckBox1 is true, then it should check today's date, and if it is between a range of days, or even months, then it would add the number in TextBox1 with the amount already in cell H18. This event will happen every time someone clicks on the Command Button.
The end result is to have several sheets (4 total) for each quarter in the fiscal year, and if the dates are within those parameters, the clicking of the command button will update the correct sheet.

If not, add onto a "counter" then display the final number of occupied cells (the value of the counter) at the end. This is what I have so far, but I get all sorts of errors.

Dim WB As Workbook
Dim WS As Worksheets
Dim modCounter As Long
Dim Cell As Range
Set WB = Workbook("Transverse Series.xlsm")
Set WS = WB.Sheets(BM18)

I need a macro that will sum the values in column P from P8:?
The trick is that my # of rows will vary. I have the macro ending in the right spot.
So, if I have 90 rows of data my macro ends in P91. Now I need to be able to have it sum P8:P90. Like wise if I have 300 rows of data my active cell will be P301. I need P8:P300 summed.
