Macro - Paste Formula Into Another Worksheet Using Active Sheet Name As Reference

Jan 9, 2014

I'm using a macro to paste a formulae into a destination cell on another worksheet.

The problem is that I need the Macro to put the name of the active sheet into the formulae

VB:
Sheets("Front").Select
Range("E1").Select
Selection.End(xlDown).Select
Range("E3").Select
ActiveCell.Formula=INDIRECT(ADDRESS(MATCH(9E+99+306,*****ActiveSheet.Name*****!F:F,1),6,4))

The macro has to work whis way becuse I will be using it with multiple worksheets, all with different names.

Macro With Reference To Active Chart On Active Sheet

May 14, 2014

I currently have the following macro running to set a chart's data values:

Sub C3Quarter12013()
'
' C3Quarter32013 Macro
'
'
ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 2").Activate
ActiveChart.PlotArea.Select
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1).Values = _

[Code] ......

When I copy the tab and change some of the data within the cells, I want the macro refer to the chart on the current tab and the values in the current tab - as currently it refers to only "Chart 2" and the values in the tab 'Figure 2 - WE OPH'.

I've tried changing the sheet name to ActiveSheet.name but that doesn't seem to work.

Copy Formula To Different Worksheet & Reference That Sheet

Oct 22, 2007

Currently I have a worksheet which is organized to have two pages on it. I will try to explain, i.e. imagine one page of the worksheet in the hypothetical range of A1:D26, then another page in the range E27:K50. So it is staggered on the same sheet. Is there an easy way to copy the range of E27:K50 onto another worksheet.

Aside from the regular copy and paste, I am having problems because there are formulas in the 2nd range (E27:K50) which loose their references once copied.
i.e the formula SUM(A1:A10) I would like to be SUM('Master List'!A1:A10) on the new sheet. Is there an easier way then going through all the formulas and adding the master list part.

Macro Code To Add Reference On Sheet To Next Worksheet

Jun 29, 2008

how to use VBA to write a formula in one sheet that refers to a fixed cell on the sheet to the right. The referenced sheet may have different names and it may be in a different order (i.e. not Sheet(2)) but it will always be one sheet to the right. I just want to have cell A1=(cell B2 one sheet to the right).

Formula/Macro To Reference From Other Worksheet

Oct 8, 2009

Maybe it's not as complicated as i'm thinking, but i'm trying to figure out a formula (or macro) that will let me basically fill in a blank from a (nearly) irrelivant second worksheet. The only similarity the two will have is a PO number, or in my picture diagram, it's a letter. The worksheet that i'm trying to fill in the blank from has maybe 1500 entries, the worksheet i am referencing to has roughly 11,000, so sorting it would make no difference and the columns would be very inconsistant with eachother, but the rows will be similar.

I want to start a formula in Sheet one, that looks at the Letter in that same row, finds that Letter in Sheet two, and gets information from the same row but a few columns over. I might be explaining this poorly, so here's a picture of what i'm referring to. I'm trying to fill in F6 in Sheet 1 with information from F2 in Sheet 2.

Reference Chart By Name That Is Not On Active Sheet

Feb 21, 2009

I am trying to select cells, tables and charts by just knowing their name. Thus if possible I would like to only refer to a chart by its name i.e. not know what worksheet they are on. This seems to work for named ranges of cells/tables, but not charts (I can't get my named charts to appear in the "Define Name" dialog).

I found this code that loops through charts on the activesheet and shows the names. However, I would much prefer not to have to specify the sheet or to loop through all the sheets trying to locate the one with the named chart.

Public Sub GetEmbeddedCharts()
Dim myChart As ChartObject
Dim myCharts As ChartObjects
Set myCharts = ActiveSheet.ChartObjects
For Each myChart In myCharts
Debug.Print myChart.Chart.Name
Next
End Sub

Make Array Reference Cells On Another Worksheet Of Active Workbook

Feb 27, 2014

My company has complicated time sheets because we have several tasks that are billed differently to different people. Once a month we have to sit down and compile everything from several forms and so forth. I have created a worksheet that pulls all the numbers together so that they can simply be copied and pasted into our reports. The hope was to simply copy this worksheet into a time sheet workbook and it will pull out all of the correct numbers. Although all the time sheet workbooks are set up the same way, whenever I copy the file into another time sheet workbook the program keeps its references from the workbook it was in. Make sense? is there a formula that I can insert into an array to tell it to pull the information from the worksheet with the same name, but in the active workbook?

here is one of the equations I am working with:

{=TRANSPOSE('1st week'!A10:L48)}

so it would look something like this maybe

{=TRANSPOSE('[active workbook]1st week'!A10:L48)} but this doesn't work of course.

Copy/paste-button - Wrong Reference Code In Sheet 2

Jul 8, 2009

i have a button that copies data from cell
A5:K5, and pastes it in Sheet2 of my workbook.

The data is ordered like this

------
------
------ button1

------
------
------ button2

------
------
------ buttonX

I have like 40 buttons attached to 4 rows each. And in that group of rows, i have some cells with an IF= formula, and some minor coding.
The problem is: If i press button 3,4,17,29 before i press every other button before that. I get an reference code fail at the cell.

If i press the buttons in order. Like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 - it appears smoothly.

More info: The button copies data from for example A5:K5 and pastes it into the next blank row of sheet2. But i want to be able to press button 2 before i press button1, without getting an error in my =IF cell.

If i press the 40 buttons in a row, and then starts to mix up the button pressing. It appears smoothly.
