Non Consecutive Rows Sort Data With Multiple Ranges

Once again, I'm seeking some further assistance to an issue that I have yet to resolve.

I have several rows of data which I'd like to be able to sort by the info in column "A".

The data rows are not all consecutive. The range for which the data resides are:

Range("A25:A73,A85:A105,A145:A193"), When I sort I want my data to stay within these limits/ranges.

Sort Data Ranges Across Multiple Worksheets

I have been asked to create an attendance worksheet where employee names and data are entered on a "main" worksheet and hours are entered on monthly worksheets. The names on the monthly worksheets are referenced from the main worksheet. Therefore, if I add a name and do a sort, the names on all pages will move, but the data will not. I imagine I will need an ID column to help sort. How do I make a macro to do the sort?

Use Data From Consecutive Rows Into Non-consecutive Rows On Different Worksheet

I am working on two worksheets. On my first worksheet I have one column with consecutive numbering starting from Cell 8.

A8 = 1
A9 = 2
A10 = 3
A11 = 4
A12 = 5

On my second worksheet I want to link to the values in the first worksheet but not in a consecutive manner. Each number will have an interval of 15 cells. As shown below:

D15 = 'link on Sheet1!A8'
D30 = 'link on Sheet1!A9'
D45 = 'link on Sheet1!A10'
D60 = 'link on Sheet1!A11'
D75 = 'link on Sheet1!A12'

Macro To Sort Multiple Rows Of Data

I have a report that I drop down into Excel that is a transaction report for securities. The data for each security is in two rows. I would like to write a macro that would sort each two-line group by a certain cell in the group. If I could make the macro request the number of rows and columns in each range and the cell address of the cell to sort by, I would be able to use this macro for many different reports. Also, there has to be some way of telling the macro where to begin and where to end. I have some experience with macros although generally I "Frankenstein".

The problem that I has is that I cannot put focus on a cell after the sort. Xl keeps the columns selected and then when I'm trying to put in the next data Excel selects all the rows in Sheet1 also. I know how to get rid of it and continue, the users on the other hand are not that experienced with excel. fun thing, even thou the, Range.value is inside the IF it putt "pucko" in sheet1. I have a code that copies the data and then put some several functions in each sheet, after that I call the sort routine.

Adapt A Macro To Sort Multiple Ranges?

I'm trying to adapt this macro (without success) to sort a number of ranges rather than just one:

Dim rng As Range: Set rng = Range("B11:F45")

End Sub

I want to ADD some further parameters

to set Rng H11:L45 and Sort Column I11:I45
to set Rng N11:R45 and Sort Column O11:045

There's many more but I've tried to add in ranges but it won't work.

its hard to line things up in here..... anyway... each name has two more lines of data associated with it. i want to take the 4th column last line for each and sort from greatest to smallest and rearrange all the data but keeping all three lines associated with each person together. one added complication. the number of ppl in this will vary although i can do a count of every three lines and tell exactly how many there will be. so for this purpose we can just keep it at three.

in this case, all three lines associated with jane should be moved up above the three lines of steve but stay below the three lines of chris. and the three lines for each person stay in the same order they are now

Excel 2010 :: Count Consecutive Numbers Over Multiple Columns / Rows

I'm using Excel 2010 and my spreadsheet contains numbers in columns A:E and approx 500+ rows. Here is a 10 row example of my data:

0 1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8 9
0 2 4 6 8
1 3 5 7 9
1 2 4 5 8
3 4 5 6 9
9 8 1 2 3
7 6 1 4 0
0 8 2 1 9
1 0 5 3 2

I would like to count the number of consecutive times each number appears (to a max of 9 consecutive times in a row). So, from my example above:

Number 1 appears:
1 consecutive time = 1 (appears in row 1)
2 consecutive times = 1 (appears in rows 4 & 5)
3 consecutive times = 0
4 consecutive times = 1 (appears in rows 7, 8, 9 & 10)

Number 2 appears:
1 consecutive time = 4 (appears in row 1, row 3, row 5 & row 7)
2 consecutive times = 1 (appears in rows 9 & 10)
3 consecutive times = 0
4 consecutive times = 0

Number 5 appears:
1 consecutive time = 2 (appears in row 2 & row 10)
2 consecutive times = 0
3 consecutive times = 1 (appears in rows 4, 5 & 6)
4 consecutive times = 0

and so on....

Difference Between Start And End Rows Of Consecutive Data

I am trying to write a spreadsheet to accomplish the following function. One column (column a) will be data in which there will be consecutive entires of the same value. There will be a seperate column (column b) of data which is related to the first. I want to create a third column which calculates the difference in the values in column b, which correspond with the first row, and last row of a consecutive block of column A values.

I was thinking the simplest method would be to calculate a given row's difference between the first row of the block. The only problem Im having is determining where a block begins, since the will be multiple occurances of blocks of data.

Any ideas?

I am trying to figure out how to make a macro that can sort some numbers from Largest to Smallest within a specific range on multiple sheets. The range is only within column D starting with cell D11: (until the data ends) on all the sheets in my workbook (the number of sheets may change with time) except for Sheets: "A", "B" and "C".

In other words I want the sort to work on all sheets except the first 3 sheets which are named Sheet A, Sheet B, and Sheet C.

I have attached a spreadsheet for an example of what I am saying.

Sort Text Into Rows By Multiple Delimiters / Values?

I am trying to consolidate an .835 raw text file that is full of receipts and payments into rows by specific values/characters. Once opened within notepad/text format, I figured out that the ~CLP is the referencing value/character used to break up each individual payment.

I need to somehow use the ~CLP as the value(s) to sort the text into new rows, with each row pre-leading with the ~CLP.

For example:

~CLP*442.24*DTM*B6*PR~CLP*124.32...etc

New Row format needed:

~CLP*442.24*DTM*B6*PR
~CLP*124.32

Creating Multiple Named Ranges X Rows High X Columns Wide

I need to create hundreds of named ranges going down a single sheet.

The name of the first range is in cell a1 and is 13 columns wide and 7 columns high (a1:m7)

The next name is in a8 and the range is a8:m14 and so fourth

If it's easier on a separate sheet I can have a list of names I want in column A and then the cells they refer to in column B.

E.g.

A B

Range1 Sheet1!A1:M7
Range2 Sheet1!A8:M14
Range3 Sheet1!A15:M21

Sort The Rows Of Data

We have an issue with sorting rows of data that have formulas in them.

These formulas are using data from a row which is above the column headers.

For example cell H2 has 160 manually entered in it. It's the number of work hours available in January 2009.

The column header for that column is in Q4 and has a value of 'Jan'

Below this in cell H5 is the formula '=+H2' because the resource in this row is available for 100% of the month.

Another resource in row 22 has the formula '=+H2*0.15' in cell H22 because they are only available 15% of the time that month.

The problem occurs when we try to sort this data. Most of the cells displays #REF!. Some show a value, but the calculation is wrong.

Is there a way to sort by a value (e.g. name of the test, date of the test, etc.) while maintaining the formatting and keeping the "groups" together? There are 3 sheets in the work book. I have two header rows on a sheet that I need to sort starting on Row 3, Column A.

The sheet is A-K and rows 1 and 2 are headers

Row 1 has merged cells of A-F which says "Information" and then G-K " Tracking Section"
Row 2 is broken up into individual sub-headers in columns, A-K each one having a bit more info for instance:

Under the "Information" merged header in row 1 there is
A2 Name
B2 Work Center
C2 C/O date
D2 Due CC
E2 Due MX
F2 Date Received

and G-K in row 2 has different sub-headings.

I have tried to use my normal code, which is great for one header, but it ends up sorting the sub-header as I call it...

I need to sort groups of data by a single cell in the group, compared to other single cells in other groups of data. The groups are always the same number of rows but vary in the number of rows. There is an example file below. The red is the company name and the green is what I need to sort the group by, as compared to the other groups. This example only has a few, the real file has thousands of groups. I want to sort the companies by the totals in green...they are currently in alphabetical order. There must be a way to do this without going the VBA option.

Countif. Multiple Data Ranges

I have cells containing data within C15:C22

I also have cells containing data within E25:E32

Some of these cells have the value '5' in them.

I want to have a running total of all the cells in these two ranges that have a value of '5' in them.

I did this formula:

=COUNTIF($C$15:$C$22,"=5")

This works okay but unfortunately this only covers the first data range. How do I specify the other data range in this formula?

Need Macro (code) to copy specific cells from a sheet into a new sheet in a desired format. I have an excel file which has data set in 20 rows. Each row has multiple fields. At the end of each data set there is a blank row. I want to capture specific data fields for each data set (e.g. Name, Bank no. etc) and put it into the respective heading. This process needs to be repeated for all the data sets.

A sample sheet is attached for better explanation. Sheet 1 has the raw data and sheet 2 has the required output. The no. of data sets shows in sheet 1 is just a sample. In actual it would be a large no. of such data sets.

I'm trying to figure out a way ( excel 2000) how to sort data over a range of columns.

Attached is a sheet.

So what I am looking for is this:

Bottom 10 for target 1, target 2, target 3.

I can sort them indervidually, but is there a way to sort the all?

Or would I need a agent column for each target to sort?

Or maybe there is a way to sort the data so it would work out that if they are in the bottom 10 of lets say 2 of the targets but not all 3 they would still show in the bottom 10?

I am using the code below to transfer data from a single sheet to approx'
200 sheets. These sheets are staff training sheets, one per staff member.
This code works great. What I would like to know is, is there a way to then sort the data on these sheets in decending order? I have tried on sheet change but this seems to stop the transfer to other pages.
