I've got the basic formula I need to paste down a column. Is there a way to get the Row_Index_Number to change for me w/o having to manually correct it for each row? Copy and Paste does not change the Row_Index_Number. Maybe theres another formula or a trick that I can use?

My starting point is a big data set that needed to be validated by several users. I split the data set into smaller sets that were sent out. All users have filled in the same column called "Input"
What I would like to be able to do is to paste their input into a single column on my original data set and keep the name of the input next to it. Is it possible to paste without overlapping prexisting data ? Something of the likes of F5 ("Select blank cells/text") ?

I have a formatted budget vs actual income statement that has subtotals in the appropriate spots. I would like to be able to paste over the entire column with updated data, but not write over the formulas. For instance, in one spreadsheet I have the data for the month of June and in another I have the data for the month of July. Both have the same number of rows, but are formatted slightly differently. I want to be able to replace the June data with the July data. My first thought was to lock the cells with the formulas, protect the sheet and then paste over the entire column, but I get the following error:

I need to figure out a way to search for a string in column D and then paste the entire row that string is in to a new sheet. I'd like for this to continue until I paste all of the rows of that string into the next sheet. This is what I got so far, and when I run it, it says an error occurs and then it says either press enter or paste. After I hit enter, it pastes the first row to the next sheet, but that's it. Also should I be doing this with a button?

I have columns on Sheet 1 with a filters and I want a way to make a list on Sheet 2 of each item (with out repeating) that is in the corresponding column on sheet 1.
This will be programmed in a userform to create the list when the form is loaded.

I often end up in a scenario where I want to be able to move text from one column into another using a formula, which involves pasting a formula down a filtered range... E.g. Column A contains both ID numbers & dates, I want to move ID numbers into Column B, so I apply a filter to all ID numbers using a formula "=A1" and paste it down the filtered range.
It becomes an issue when there is greater than 50 - 60 thousand rows - excel throws an error "selection range is too complex" and disregards the filtered range.
Only thing I can think of would be a VBA script to automate pasting a formula in blocks of 50,000 rows.
I am creating a data tracking workbook. Information is entered into cells on
different sheets, then the tallies are pulled to one easier to read sheet.
In creating the tally sheet, I am setting the cell formulas. The cells
referred to are constant, only the sheet referred to changes. For example,
the cell might read

and the next one should read
='FP 2'!$I$25
....and so on. I would like to be able to paste the formula and have the
referred to sheet change so that I do not have to go through and make
hundreds of little changes.

What I would like to do is write a macro so that the three entries with "One" in Column A get cut and pasted into a newly-created sheet named "One." All of the Two's get cut and pasted into sheet "Two" and the same thing with the Three's.
I'm trying to copy and paste this formula to multiple cells and am having difficulty doing so without everything in the formula changing.. SUMIF(Bankroll!Q14:Q6000,U143,Bankroll!Y14:Y6000)
I only want the U143 to change to U144, U145, etc. Yet when I copy and paste down the sheet it changes the Q14:Q6000 and the Y14:Y6000 values as well. I've been having to go through and paste the formula one line at a time and then manually change the U143 to the current U cell that I want it to represent in order to keep the rest of the values the same. Is there a faster way than this?
I've linked excel to a PLC pulse and download columns of data and these columns are updated live. I would like to copy the data in these columns every hour and paste values only into another spreadsheet for analysis. This will have to continue ongoing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn Sheet1, Row 2 I have my columns named January-December, which correspond to the names of the other 12 sheets in my workbook. I want to test and sum the same range of cells in each sheet by simply coping and pasting the formula. I am using INDIRECT and SUMPRODUCT, but is there a better way? It seems to have caused the sheet to run slowly. Perhaps it's just the amount of data. Here is an example of the formulas I am using:
=SUMPRODUCT((INDIRECT("'"&B2&"'!$B$3:$B$200")=$A$2)*(INDIRECT("'"&B2&"'!$C$3:$C$200")="Yes")*(INDIRE CT("'"&B2&"'!$E$3:$E$200")))
This gives me the intended result. B2 in this case is January. C2 is February and so forth.
to assign a variable to equal a Constant variable, then I need to find the last unused row on the worksheet, then paste that variable down the column (1-12200 or so rows). I also need to assign Strings for the first two Rows in the target column.

I am trying to write a formula where the column header of the row in which a value other than 0 exists, will display for each instance (row) where a value exists in an array spanning 3 columns. So the result cell could be any of the three column headers, or a combination thereof.
I started the formula in P2 of the GL Detail-2012 tab. File attached.

I have a code that inserts a new column after every 7th column. I want to include a formula where every 7th column value is subtracted from the values present in the column before the 1st, or you can think of it as subtracting 7th column of the present group from the 7th column of the previous group. Example: The range of my data starts from col F, then

For instance, Lets say I want to count each day a particular person makes a sale.

I am creating a tool that is populating information off of another excel document and presenting the information in a different format then the data originally appears. Basically I am unsure how to create a formula, for example, in cell A1, that as I drag it down (A2, A3, etc) the column letter in the formula advances but the row number remains the same. In another words as the formula moves into cell A2, the "Sheet1!D3" changes to "Sheet1!E3", where as normally it would advance to "Sheet1!D4". I just started back up in excel, im sure this is way easier then I am making it seem but I have been unable to come up with a solution.

I have a formula that counts if a date range is present. However I need to change it to count another column only if that date range is present. For example a17 a50000 the user will enter the date of the order. and in column B has the order number. I want the formula to count the order numbers for a data range in column A.
Here is what I have but it is counting the dates in col A not the order numbers in B?
I have a form in which users will manually enter a date in Column A. I would like to create a formula in Column B which will add 4 days to the date based upon Column A. However, the 4 days should only be added to a select set of dates which I would like to specify. If the date is not found in this select set of dates, then the result in Column B should be the same date as Column A.
