Count Non-repeated Words In Cell
Oct 11, 2009I want to count the nr of words in cell without counting the repeated words.
For example, in "this is a ball and that is a square", the total nr of words is 9, and the total nr of non-repeated words is 7, because "is" and "a" are repeated twice, and I just want to count it once.

Jun 13, 2014Per the table below, I compute how many months to average project costs over, establish month in which the costs begin, and these accumulate in the work in progress (WIP) end columns, however in the month the final stage (to hit 100%) of costs are complete, the project is invoiced and the WIP is released - Noting the month in which the last costs are incurred are not added to total to reverse out. The 3 projects and final columns demonstrate the different scenarios and the results I would expect to see, I just can't formulate anything to release the previous months WIP without it repeating the negative for the rest of the year - if that makes sense?

Removing Certain Words In A Cell
Jun 24, 2008removing certain words/charactors in a cell.
For example, I have these information in 1 excel cell.
"Company allows staff to purchase small value items (items amounting to less than $3000) with approval from the staff's director."
So in this case, I need to remove the HTML/XML tags manually. Therefore, the final result should be,
"Company allows staff to purchase small value items (items amounting to less than $3000) with approval from the staff's director."
It is very tedious with the huge amount of data to process.

In simple, in the first row, Name1 and Name2 are repeating. And the requirement is to remove the repeated value "A" from Name2.
Removing Repeated Headers
Nov 13, 2008I have the regular headers in the first row, followed by rows containing my data. And at x number of rows, a new row containing headers appear again, followed by rows containing data. This goes on for the rest of report. What I need to do is remove the rest of the headers and lines because I only need to have one header in the first row.
Note that the header takes up two rows (one for the actual headers and one for the ====== lines. So removing the repeated headers is removing 2 rows.
For eg, part of the report looks like this:

I get a lot of data from other people and when they have entered the information in some of the entries have a space after the word which mess up the results of my vlookups. Copy Cells To Adjacent Column, Removing Blanks
Dec 8, 2009In a worksheet, J2:J52 contains a list of unique strings; each cell populated by an embedded formula. Some of the cells contain a valid 'blank' "" given by the formula.
I'd like K2:K52 to contain the values J2:J52, with all the populated cells stacked at the top and the 'blank' cells at the bottom. 'Blank' cells do not have to be in any particular order.
I've been fiddling with the formula kindly provided by WindKnife on the second post in the thread below for the past couple of hours, but to no avail:

Copy Non-adjacent Cells In A Row From One Spreadsheet To Adjacent Rows In Another
Jan 5, 2014I have a workbook with 30 worksheets. Each sheet has 84 rows of data (start in 15 columns (A to O). I would like to create a summary sheet that only shows the most important data from each sheet.
The summary sheet would have 12 lines of headers and formatted crap at the top.
The Summary sheet header columns would be:
Site (A), Date (B) Health (C), Status (D), Critical (E), Task (F),
Dependencies (G), Owner (H), T-Date (I), Task Date (J), Mitigation Date (I)
The data in the sheets are not in that order, of course.
That
1. puts the name of the sheet I am copying from in column A
2. the deadline date in Column B (that date is always in C10 of each worksheet)
3. and copies Cells from Column A,B,G,H,I,O in any row in which the value in A is not "good" into columns C through H. I would like to paste those rows into the summary sheet. I have code that loops through the sheets and rows in each sheet to find the rows to copy. I can copy cell values directly from the active sheet to the summary sheet, but because I am copying a cell at a time, it takes 7 minutes. Yes I am impatient :)

I have a spreadsheet and in one column, it has last names of clients. In the next column, it has full names of clients that are the same account, but different system with different descriptions for the name. I need to lookup the column that just has last name and see if that last name exist anywhere in the "Full name" column. If it does, then I need column C to say "Yes" or something along those lines.
The "full name" column isn't always in the same format and sometimes doesn't even contain the "last name." Sometimes the last name will be first and sometimes there's a comma and sometimes there isn't a comma. The spreadsheet attached shows a good short example of what I'm working with...
