View 6 RepliesIs there way i can have a macro attatched to a button that when clicked, will copy BX:BX on sheet1, remove all the blank cells and put it on D:D on sheet2. Next time it is clicked, it will put BX:BX on to the next available column after removing the blanks and so on, filling a column at a time on sheet2?
If the above is easy, it would be really good if it could paste into columns until it reaches column H and then go back to D again but paste below the data already there, then E, but below, etc. I think though that the last bit is asking a bit much and is just cosmetic and easier to print, so dont worry too much.
Have the marco (see Code below)that I am trying to pull only records that have a "y" in a column. The problem I am haivng is that I also get cells that are blank and rows are skipped if the cell is blank or not "y".
Have tried searching for an answer or example for what I want to do. Looked at autofilter but had no luck.
Sub Macro1()
Set rd = Sheets("ActiveHerd") 'set read data sheet as rd
Set wd = Sheets("SaleSheet") 'set write data sheet as wd
For i = 12 To Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row ' set i to the last row in column A
If UCase(Cells(i, 1)) = "Y" Then Range("A" & i & ":c" & i).Copy Destination:=wd.Range("AA" & i)
Next i
End Sub
I am looking to find all visible cells in column E that are blank, and then add ''B'' to those empty cells.
I am using code similar to the below:
[Code] .....
I have this formula =INDIRECT(ADDRESS($GS1,COLUMN()))
and when a cell is empty this formula return a 0 but I would like it to return also an empty cell because in my data the 0 count for a value.
Then I have this one : =COUNTIF($ML641:$NA641,$ML653)
I would like to do the same thing to not return a 0 if the cell is empty but an empty cell. I hope I explain it right ?
I have a problem with finding the right function. My goal is to have the following function...
The cell D1 has the following function: [=IF(B1<=C1;"YES";"NO")] But I would like to have the cell D1 to be left blank, if the cell A1 is blank.
I have a spreadsheet where coloumn A contains either a blank cell, or a "X". There may be anywhere from 1 - 10,000+ "x"'s, spaced in col. a, but they are not spaced evenly, for example A1 may have an "X" A3,A4, A25, A28, etc... I need to find a way to merge the cells from the X to the row above the next "X" (so the X, and all blank spaces below it).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using the MONTH function in a formula. The Month value of an empty cell is returned as "1". Why is this? Is there any way to return a null value or zero?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI need to be able to count all the blanks in columns other than A but only until the last used cell in column A. I am using a formula right now that counts the blanks in column A until the last used cell but I don't know how to apply the range of column A to other columns like B and C. Here is an example of what I hope to accomplish:
Formula used in A1 that I need applied to other columns but with the range of column A
="Total Blanks: "&COUNTIF(INDEX(A2:A8,MATCH(TRUE,A2:A8<>"",0)):INDEX(A2:A8,MATCH(2,1/(A2:A8<>""))),"")
Here is an example of what B1 and C1, with the formula, would look like if it counted blanks but with the range of column A
Total Blanks: 3
Total Blanks: 6
Total Blanks: 2
[Code].....
I've have and autofilter in the heading of a column that allows me filter on All, NonBlanks, Blanks, Cell Entries, Etc.....But for some reason when I filter on all a number of rows are hidden or the row height is set to 0 and I can't view the cells unless I change the row height.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFormula for this? If a cell in column T is empty, use column U (but make it negative)??
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a formula that needs to return blanks as blank and 0s as 0. The vlookup formula will return blanks as 0, or I can make it return a blank whenever it is zero (below), but some cells may have a 0 record that need to return 0s, not blank.
Right now I am missing a few records that are entered as "0". I have:
=IFERROR(IF(VLOOKUP(O16,'Sheet1'!$A:$Z,8,FALSE)=0,"",VLOOKUP(O16,'Sheet1'!$A:$Z,8,FALSE)),"")
How to return address of the column or cell I selected from Application.Inputbox, not just return the value?

Is there a way to use the INDEX function to return Blanks or NAs instead of zeros when the corresponding row & column match is a blank/null cell?
e.g. =INDEX(F10:H13,1,1) returns 0 even if cell F10 is blank?
I've been searching the forums for this problem but I can't seem to find any answers. Anyway, this is the problem. See screenshot.
I want to compare A1 for the values in column B, then return the corresponding cell (column C) in column D.
e.g. D1 = 2, D2 = 1, D3 = 4, D4 = 5 and D5 = 3.
I'm currently using the following code to concatenate several cells into one cell, but it also displays the cells that contain blanks.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to have several buttons, that put a certain value in the first empty cell in a specified column in antoher Woorksheet.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs this possible using code: Copy Cell A1 and Paste in first empty Cell down Column D. This would be connected to a command button. Both Cell A1 and Column D are on the same spreadsheet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to hide the row when value "x" is entered in column C
I tried this code in the sheet, but nothing happens.......
VB:
Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Column = 3 Then
ThisRow = Target.Row
If Not Target.Value = "" Then
ThisRow.EntireRow.Hidden = True
End If
End If
End Sub
So when a "x" is entered in cell (115,C), row 115 must be hidden. When a "x" is entered in cell((9,C) row 9 must be hidden to, and so on. When a cell in an other column is changed, the macro does not need to start.
I would like to select the next empty cell in columb A after running this macro, what code do I need to add to this to enable that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need the code to paste my selection in worksheet SORT, into the first available cell in column A. Intention is not to overwrite existing values in column A.
'
Sheets("tis").Select
Range("AC2").Select
Range(Selection, Selection.End(xlDown)).Select
Selection.Copy
Sheets("SORT").Select
'I need the code to paste my selection in the first available empty cell in column A, so I don't overwrite any existing values in column A
End Sub
This macro
ActiveSheet.Range("A65536").End(x1up).Offset(1,0).Select
when run locates the next empty cell in Column A perfectly. But.... how can I get this to work from a button located at the top of the spreadsheet?
I am only a copy and paste man where macros are concerned!
I need a macro which will manipulate my data like this:
If a blank cell is found in column C, then I'd like to have the contents of that row in column D shifted to the right.
I have a column of data that I need to add sum total whenever there is a break in data. The row will vary on a daily basic so a set autosum will not work if I am summing 4 numbers today and 5 tomorrow.
This is what I have: the header titled Sizing is in cell C1 and the remaining data is below that, where I show a space below that is where I have an empty cell.
Column C
1
SIZING
2
320
[Code] ......
What I need is code to sum where there is a blank cell.
Column C
1
SIZING
2

How do I code in VBA - I need to select the next empty cell down in a column - ie blank field so that I can transfer the next set of data
I need a macro to do something very easy. I have blocks of data in an excel worksheet separated by one column. The First block begins in column B and ends in col G. Next block begins in column H and ends in L.
I'd like to copy the value from the first cell in the start of each block (b1) and paste it in the left column seperating each block (left empty column - a1) all the way down to where the data in that block ends (b60), and do this for the next column. So in the above exmaple it would populate column A (range a1:a60) with the value from cell B1.
The number of columns is the same but the number of rows vary. The value to be copied is always in the first row and first colunm of where a data block begins - so in the case above - b1, h1 etc.
I am running this macro or some variation of it, depending on the column I need the time entered into:
Sub MacroD()
Dim LR As Long
LR = Range("D" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
ActiveSheet.Unprotect
Range("D18:D" & LR).Value = Now
ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Select
UserForm1.ListBox1.Text = "Time"
UserForm1.ListBox1.SetFocus
' UserForm1.Show
End Sub
When I need to run the same macro again (say I've run Macro D once, and now I need to run it again to get the next time), the forumla overrides the previous timestamp. I need the macro to find the next empty cell in column D and enter the timestamp there.

I want to use the Find method to find an empty cell in the first column. But at the top of the data taqble, there are some empty cells, so I don't get the one I want. So I thought about searching in the column 1 excluding the first cells. Here is my
Dim rFoundCell As Range
Dim rFilledCol1 As Range
'I define the column excluding the cells that contain empty cells
rFilledCol1 = Columns(1) - Range("A1:A10")
Set rFoundCell = rFilledCol1.Find(What:="", After:=Range("A11"),
LookIn:=xlValues, LookAt:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, _
SearchDirection:=xlNext, MatchCase:=False)
But I get a Syntax error. Do you know why?
I am trying to find code that will find the first empty cell in a row and add data in cell left to right. This code is filling all data in the last cell of the row and I am hoping to have it loop through data and fill the first empy cell (M1) and next data placed (m2) and so on
Sub Reportdates()
Dim Grid As Range, Gridcell
Dim Crit1 As Range
Dim Crit2 As Range
Set Grid = ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("sheet3").Range(" dates")
Set Crit1 = ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Stageing").Range("J1")
Set Crit2 = ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Stageing").Range("K1")
For Each Gridcell In Grid
If Gridcell.Value >= Crit1 And Gridcell.Value <= Crit2 Then
ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("Stageing").Range("M1").End(xlToRight).Offset(0, 0) = Gridcell.Value
End If
'Exit For
Next Gridcell
End Sub
I have a multi- sheet Excel workbook and I need to develop a macro based control that, with a single click of a Button in a sheet named REPORT, will take me directly to the last empty cell in column A of a sheet named REGISTER in the same workbook.
