Return Multiple Values Across Columns And Rows Based On Criteria


I have a table with column headings of product ID Numbers (eg.1111) and row headings of Store number (Eg.1) with data showing the time each product was last sold at that store, I need something to consolidate for each store which Product ID's were sold prior to 5pm and what time they were sold.

EG

Store 1 1111 16:40
2222 13:00
Store 2 1111 15:05
3333 16:50

Formula/Function To Return Multiple Values Based On Criteria
I would like to be able to use the Vlookup function to return more then one value as a result of the criteria. I have a cloumn of dates that populates the X axis of a gantt chart with data whilst the Y axis will be populated by a site reference resulting in a program of work, the Y axis data is the result of a vlookup function. My difficulty arises however with multiple sites, for instance where two or three sites will be visited on the same day. The vlookup function will only return the first value it finds in a range to the formulated cell. The result being a missing site(s) from the gantt chart / work program. is it possible to return all values to a cell i.e. site1, site2, site3. using a vlookup or do i need to use another method of doing this?

Transpose Multiple Columns To Rows Based On Criteria
I am stumped on how to transpose multiple columns to rows based on specific criteria. Here is an example of the data I am working with:

Acct #Rev CodeUnitsCharges10094537034503$0.0010094537034501$605.0010094537037101$0.0010096359034503$0.0010096359034501$355.0010096359037101$0.00

I want it to look like the following:

I should note that there is oftentimes more than three rows for the same account number, sometimes it could be as many as 20 rows for the same account.

Summing Values From Multiple Worksheets Based On Rows And Columns
I have Master sheet where I collect info from sub sheets. All sheets are similarly formatted, ie. product numbers on column A and headers on row 2. I need to sum values from all sheets based product number and header. Master sheet includes all product numbers and some extra headers, sub sheets include only needed numbers. Headers on sub sheets are identical.

Currently I have this thing solved with following formula:

N48=sumproduct(sumif(indirect("'"&$B$378:$B$385&"'!A:A");A48;indirect("'"&$B$378:$B$385&"'!L:L")))

Where B378:B385 includes sheet names.

But problem with this is that column is hard coded, so I have to know that that value I am looking for is in column L. That wouldn't be show stopping problem on its own, but I have columns all the way to DR and copying formulas for each column takes a lot of time when I have to manually update each column. Just copying cell holds that L:L and doesn't change it.

So, in addition of getting values for specific product number I need to get values from specific column based on column header.

Copy Rows Meeting Multiple Criteria On Multiple Columns
1. Copy data from original file (I do not want to do anything in the original file) into the spreadsheet (Target worksheet)where the code should run.
2. In sheet 1 of Target Worksheet, there are 2 columns which I need to set criterias on namely Column D and Column L
3. In Column D, I want to specify 3 criterias namely A, B and C
4. In Column L, I want to specify 5 criterias namely London, Frankfurt, New York, Sydney and Tokyo
5. If Criterias in 3 and 4 are met, copy all rows into Sheet 2 of Target Worksheet

Return Result Based On Multiple Criteria
I have been trying this for hours but to no avail.

I have a table with 4 columns headers
Name, Amount, Loc and Code

The name may look like ABC 1, ABC 2....
The Loc may be in US, GB...
and the Code may be AA, BB

I need to return a result "Y" if the sum of the amount is > 100
and "N" if the sum of the amount < 100 based on the conditions
of the following :if

1) Name is the same entity, such as ABC 1 and ABC 2 and
2) Loc is the same, US..and
3) Code is the same

Return Multiple Results Based On Criteria
Please see the attached sheets.

Here's the issue:

On sheet "master" I have a list of goals in column A.

Each has been assigned to at least one person. Each person will have their own sheet that will capture the goals assigned to them. As an example, see Al's sheet.

I am trying to get Excel to look for all of the goals assigned to AL on the Master sheet and list them nicely onto AL's sheet without out blank rows. (and for each, respectively on their own sheet). I could do this with Pivot Tables if the data were displayed differently, but I have been told that I have to display the goal assignments as shown.

I could use "x"s instead of their names to mark the assignment and I could combine the "goal-achieved expectations" and "goal #s" columns if it helps. I am not supposed to use filters either.

Note: Of course, a goal or an assignment could change on the master sheet, but the assignment is more likely to change.

how this done for AL, I can go ahead and create the other sheets.

Count Rows Meeting Multiple Criteria Of Multiple Values
I am trying to find a formula to count rows that meet multiple criteria, but one of the criteria can be multiple values. I have a list of people with a list of clients that they are responsible for. Each person is responsible for 10-20 clients. Every day I run a report that shows the project worksheets submitted for each client and if money has been awarded or not.

I'm wondering if there is a way to count, for each person, the number of project worksheets that show "awarded" in column K. That would mean that I would have to look for, for each person, any of their multiple clients in column B and "awarded" in column K.

I am trying to put the formula in D2:D9, as I use A2:D9 for a chart. O1:P79 contain the names of the people and the applicants that they are responsible for. A17:D158 contains the list of project worksheets (updated daily). I used =SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIF(B17:B999,P1:P14)) to count the actual number of project worksheets for each person, but I can't figure out a way to modify that to add in the "awarded" criteria also.

Compare Values In Multiple Columns And Return A Result
I have a spreadsheet with three years worth of data for a property I manage. Each column has cost data for the year and the specific department/cost for that year as the row value.

I have a column between the years that calculates the percent of gross revenue for the specific department/cost.

I would like to find (or create) a formula that will compare the percentage (or specific cost) for the three years within the specific row and if the increase year over year over year exceeds a trigger value it returns something (check me out/true/false) whatever.

The cost items for the property are in the hundreds so I'm trying to come up with a way to quickly see what specific cost items are going up (or down) more rapidly then what would be considered normal.

Find A Value Based On Criteria In Columns And Rows
I have a workbook in which I have two sheets. One sheet is a report and the other is a data dump. The data dump has headers in in column A starting in cell A6 and headers in row 5 starting in cell B5. There is then data going from B6:J20.

In my report I then I have same setup with headers in column A and row 5. The difference is that the headers are not in the same order as the dump. What formula could I use that would look for the two headers in my report sheet and then match it with the value in the data dump that uses the same two headers?

Delete Rows Where Multiple Columns Meet Criteria
I am looking for an Excel VBA code that can delete pair of rows that has certain criteria. I have included an example in the attachment and highlighted the rows that should be deleted. Since the values in each coloumn is going to change every day , I am looking for a dynamic code.

The objective is to:

To delete rows that has same code (columnd D), same basis (coloumn E), same Effective (coloumn H), value of TT (Column J) is either TI or TO and has offsetting Amounts (L) ie the sume becomes zero. Example pair of row 7 and row 8 as well as pair of row 12 and row 13 should be deleted.

TO and TI are actually transfer in and transfer out. Since the TI and TO for these rows make the amount zero for same code and same basis on the same effective date, I do not want to include this in the spreadsheet.

Delete Rows Where 2 Columns Meet Multiple Criteria
I have a file with many intercompany transactions. There is a range of business unit numbers that if anyone one number is in both Column B "Bus Unit" and Column E "Affiliate" I want the row deleted.

Please see the attached, it is more clear I hope. The two yellow rows would be deleted.
The list of business units that I would want to never be on the same row is "4, 7, 41, 44, 46, 51"

Query Worksheet & Return Rows Based On Conditions/Criteria
I am trying to query a names sheet where each row may contain more than one occurence of a member ID. There are no duplicate rows ( records), because the dates are different for all rows.

1. I want to retrieve all of the rows from the names sheet that match a unique member ID. So far I only get one row.

2. And if mistype the number, it gives me a wrong record .I would like to get an error message that if I don't get a match, that it appears in the somewhere like dialog box or even entry in one of the cells that no name exits.

Sum Range: Multiple Criteria In Rows & Columns
I posted this on Mr Excel, but did not get an answer. I hope someone here can help.

I have a rather large financial worksheet that I am trying to extract some specific data from.

The sheet contains budget and expense #'s for the fiscal year for several projects. The project names are listed in column G and the same project can be on multiple lines, depending on what the expense is. Column J contains either "Cap" for Capital, or "Exp" for Expense. The monthly data starts at Row L. Each month has 6 columns, the one that matters for this scenereo is the 5th one for each month, which is the Forecast Column.

Our Fiscal Year is April 1 - March 31, but this sheet ruins from March - March so that we can carry over anything from the previous year. So the forecast column for March is column "P", April is column "V" and so on, adding 6 columns for each month.......

With me so far?


What I am trying to do is get the total forecasted expenses amount for a specific project for the remainder of the fiscal year.

In other words I need to look for a specific Project Code in Row G, look for "Exp" in Row J, Then get only the numbers that are in the Forecasted Column for months in the future and add them all up.

Just in case that is not totaly clear----

Return Value Based On Multiple Possible Values In A Cell
I have in A1 a string of 100 characters..

I would like to create a SELECT CASE where,
if in A1 there is the word "BLACK" , put 1 in A10
if in A1 there is the word "WHITE", put 2 in A10
else put 50 in A10

I'm trying to use the instruction INSTR but with negative results..

(I have many cases other than BLACK and WHITE, that's why I need a SELECT CASE)

Searching For Values Based On Multiple Criteria
I have a problem with excel that I have been trying to solve for the past 5 days! I have 2 tables (one with 500 rows, the other with 15000) that contain information about pipes.

The smaller table, Drift List, is to be used as a reference to fill up the bigger table.
Here is how Drift List looks like:

DRIFT TYPE column has to indicate either API or Alternate (Depending on which one I have used).

Alright, the above code is not working. I am not sure if it is the write part (t,25 value) that is wrong. I want the Y column to be written with a method numbered "20" if the conditions (H is not null, J="Y", K="", and 6<M<60). I have numerous other methods to put in. The reason I'm not doing Case Statements is this is jsut to write the basic code, and then I will have to move it over to ReportSmith using ReportBasic.

Copy Rows Based On Multiple Criteria ....
I am trying to loop through a column and cut and copy cells containing one of ten or more criteria (text strings) to the next worksheet, which already exists.

The basic loop is set up, and I understand that an array for the multiple criteria is needed but am falling at this hurdle, as well as struggling with the routine to copy the row to the next available row on the next worksheet.

I have omitted to post my effort so far, as it's embarrassingly basic, but can anyone help with the code?

Filter Rows Based On Multiple Criteria
Example attached. I need to filter rows based on a start date and stop date, columns C and D. So for example the filter date is 01Mar07 (located in A5). As this date in this cell is changed the rows are filtered accordingly. I need to filter rows so that any row with a start date which includes Mar 07 is shown and I need to include all rows that have an end date in Mar 07. This would result in the inclusion of an event that started in Feb and Ends in march being displayed.
Additionally, I would need to clear the filter. I'm just starting out, I'm sure this is easy for you all the excel experts., and you may probably have a better method to approach this.

Copy Rows To Another Worksheet Based Upon Multiple Criteria
I have seen all kinds of copying routines, but haven't been able to get what I want.

1. Copy Row contents from activeworksheet

2. The activeworksheet will have various row counts

3. The activeworksheet has row 1 as header.

4. The criteria to use is in the current worksheet columns P through Z

5. The criteria to look for is the word inspect. only the word inspect, not words that contain inspect (i.e. "inspection") should not be found.

6. The word could be in column P and in S, but needs to be only copied once, becuase it has meet the criteria, but it also could only be in c

7. Copying the row into a Sheet named "Inspection"

As a bonus would be cool to be able to copy certain cells or the entire row.

Macro To Delete Rows Based On Multiple Criteria
I need a macro to delete old data from a large selection of data, in order to keep the size down.

What I want this macro to do is

Check all rows from 5 downwards.

If A5 (date) is less than cell $B$1 AND B5 is not equal to C5 then delete the whole row.

Continue until reaching the bottom.

Delete Opposite Rows Based On Multiple Criteria
I have a Macro that I use daily on a spreadsheet I get with raw line-item transaction data on it. Basically, it deletes columns I don't need to look at, applies column headers, deletes certain rows that I don't need to look at, applies an auto-filter and filters to the first group of data I need to look at, and puts a subtotal on a couple of columns at the top so I can see totals on filtered results.

I need an additional function in this Macro. At some point in the middle of the actions above, I need to evaluate all rows and delete those that are 'opposites' based on a couple of criteria. Basically, I need to delete any transactions that have been refunded in their entirety, because for my purposes those are zeroed out and I don't want to see them....

Show (Filter) Rows Based On Multiple Criteria
I'm trying to create a formula (used in sheet 2 column B) that would generate the results in sheet2.B based on the contents of sheet 1. sheet2.B2 would contain a formula searching for the both "Y" in sheet1.C and the text in sheet2.A2 (in this case "E&P"). When each match is found, the contents of sheet1.A should be returned to sheet2.B, as shown in the mockup. There will be multiple matches (at least 15-20) for each search criteria, and I don't know how many there will be ahead of time.

I've tried various formulas, and they either have incorrect syntax and return every row in a range, or only return the first match correct match each time instead of all correct matches. I found some UDFs posted online that claim to do this, but I've gotten them into the spreadsheet and they generate # NUM errors. I would prefer to work with Excel-native formulas if possible, because I'm going to eventually hand this off to someone else to maintain and they may not have the level of expertise to deal with UDFs.

Finding Top 2 Values Per Group Based On Multiple Criteria
I am trying to find the top two values per group based on multiple criteria. The list I'm working with is not sorted and would be better for it to not have to be sorted as on-the-fly sorts will likely often occur from the raw data and I wouldn't want that to mess up the results I'm looking for here.

Lookup With Multiple Criteria: Return The Amount Paid And Full Cost Based On The Person's Name And The Date
I would like a lookup that takes multiple criteria and that is not an array formula! Unfortunately I decided to use array formulae and my spreadsheet went to over 45mb!! Not good. I've searched the forum for an answer to my questions but couldn't find any! I've attached a spreadsheet as an example. The examples I am using have {Sum(IF)} formulae in it (array) and I would like to change those to others that will not increase the file size so much and will not take too long to calculate.

Basically, I would like a lookup that will return me the Amount Paid and Full Cost based on the person's name and the date. the data and the results table are both on separate sheets. It would be nice to bring that file's size back down to less than 4mb!!

How To Count Rows With Defined Values In Multiple Columns
I need a formula or function that will sum the number of occurences a
specific text string is entered into cells in column B. I only want to count

Copy Paste Multiple Criteria Based Rows To New Sheet
I need to copy specific rows that have a specific value in colum B and Colum M to new worksheets.

So from attached screenshot , say for an example macro shud filter rows that have "BigPond" in coloum B ,"RG2" in column M & "INT" in column W and i dont want all cells in these rows , i only want copy cells under column C,AK,AL,AM (in this order) to my other excel sheet that is named "BigPond" and it should paste it starting from Row5?

I want to avoid recording a macro as it selects a range and i am expecting more new rows every week so if a record a macro the cell range for selection changes and i get incorrect result.

Transpose Multiple Columns Into Rows Based On Repeats
I need to transpose a three column worksheet with thousands of rows containing repeats based on the value in Column A (between 2 and 11 consecutive repeats), into rows with no repeats, and the values from the repeated rows into new columns. Column A has a unique numeric value corresponding to the repeated rows. Column B has 1 of 11 values and Column C has 1 of 4 values.

The worksheet looks like this:

1 abc x
1 def y
2 ghi x
2 abc n
2 lmn x
2 def z
2 jkl y

I need to make it look like this:

1 abc x def y
2 ghi x abc n lmn x def z jkl y

I tried using the following code, but it dropped all the values from column C:

Copy Rows Based On Criteria, Paste As Values To New Sheet & Sort
I have spent a few days searching through forums but cannot find examples that i have been able to successfully adapt ( because they are to complicated for my limited knowledge). I have a workbook with 5 sheets, sheet1 (current), and sheet 4 (archive) are the important ones. I need a macro to

A) copy rows from "current" to "archive" ( to the 1st empty row) if column S of "current" contains "Closed" ( the word is generated by formula).

B) The paste needs to paste special values and number formats ( want to lose formula but not conditional formatting).

C) data sort "archives" based on col A - this puts the newly archived data into correct sequence.Data sort lowest number 1st

D) delete the copied rows from "current".

e) give me a count of how many rows it deleted, (I have a macro to insert rows so will run that manually to recreate the correct number of emtpy rows (with formula and formatting) to bring the current sheet back to usual size.

I tried modifying a macro by RPaulson (based on cells on one sheet to cells on another), to work with entire rows but couldn't get it to work.

Found that paste special uses PasteSpecial xlPasteValues, but , and thats about it.

Hide Rows Based On Multiple Columns Formula Returning Empty Text ""
I would like to rows based on multiple column conditions criteria. ie., if the columns N, O, P values are "", then hide the particular row. The logic given in the website here, i tried But, it is not 100% working. It works for a few rows at the start of the database & it works for the rows at the end of the database. In between, for a few rows, even if the column values are "" it does not hide those rows.

Look Across Values In 12 Columns, Return The Number Of Unique Values
I have 12 columns of data. In those 12 columns of data I have 3 digit numeric IDs. I want to count the unique number of IDs for each row. I have about 14K rows.

What would be the best way to do so?

Some rules about how the data is stored. I have 12 columns of data with anywhere from 1 to 12 columns having data for each respondent. Data always fills left to right and never skips columns.

I have attached an example file that represents how the data is stored and the output I would like (Unique Count).

Finding Multiple Values To Return Multiple Values
I have a bill of materials with a description column. I want to search that column for various words (ie. wheel, screw, spacer, shelf, etc) and return a value into another new column depending on that value (wheel inputs wheel, screw inputs hardware, spacer inputs hardware, shelf inputs shelf).

I have a spreadsheet with multiple columns and rows of data. I want to be able to type in a criteria and all the rows containing the criteria are called up. For example

Convert Absolute Values To Negative Values Based On Criteria
is it possible to write a macro that will convert absolute values into negative based on criteria? Data gets downloaded from in house system which comes out as all absolute values, now i need the macro to covert absolute values to negative if the amount is either "Our Reciepts" or "Our Delivery"

Return MAXIMUM Based On Criteria
i have a spreadsheet like the following

A B C
Country Revenue Month
1 UK 10 Jan
2 France 20 Jan
3 US 30 Jan
4 UK 25 Feb
5 US 35 Feb
6 France 5 Jan

and so on...

So where country = UK, France or US I want to retrieve the MAX revenue from all months and which month it was in. Eg UK max revenue was in Feb of 25. I am not sure how to apply the max formula with criteria. Is there any way to do this?

Return A Text Value Based On Criteria
I'm trying to create a formula that will allow me to pull test from a list (auto populate if possible). Essentially you will see on the second tab, a list of projects "Cali" for example. I'm trying to find a formula that will allow me to show the Customer and Life Cycle on the first Tab. If possible the Project Name too.

Essentially I want to be able to have all the data inputed into Tab 2 and let Tab 1 condense it into the designated fields. So basically what will allow me to see all of the "Cali" projects, and from that generate the Customer and Life Cycle (and Project if possible) on Tab 1. Keep in mind this does need to be automatic updating, so that as we input more information on Tab 2, it will automatically kick into Tab 1.

Example: I have 2 sheets, a pivot and a data sheet. When selecting a different option on the pivot i want information returned from the data sheet (which is explanations of the information contained in the pivot) I need to add 2 criteria points.

Return A Value From One Of The VALUES Columns
I have 8 columns of data, the first 4 and the last four columns have the values which correspond to each other.. Here is an example:

VALUES(A to D)NAMES(A to D)
ABCDABCD
1.3451641.3383581.286221.359808321325370391

So value 1.345164 corresponds to 321 and 1.28622 to 370. I need a function that will return a value from one of the VALUES columns which corresponds to the second smallest cell value from the NAMES columns. For example here the second smallest number in NAMES column is 325 so the function would return the corresponding value of 1.338358.

Return Values From Several Columns
If I am creating a vlookup forumulae, and I want to return values from several columns, I have been manually changing the column it's returning the value from when I drag the formula across the columns. This is ok for a few columns.

eg =VLOOKUP($D2,$AB:$AJ,1,FALSE), dragged across columns, and then manually edited in each column to read

=VLOOKUP($D2,$AB:$AJ,1,FALSE), =VLOOKUP($D2,$AB:$AJ,2,FALSE), =VLOOKUP($D2,$AB:$AJ,3,FALSE), =VLOOKUP($D2,$AB:$AJ,4,FALSE)

etc

The value doesn't increase when you drag it.

is there a short cut for doing this automatically?

Return Value By Multiple Matching And Unmatching Criteria
I am developing Spreadsheet that you will enter a list of parts that you need. it will have many columns but only 4 are vital to the check. this will be generated for each project.

With each part i want to then look up in another file that is a list of all the possible parts you can have with there cost. this file will be standard for everything and it will be updated from time to time.

now not all the criteria to look up will be exact matches.

here is an example

code temp/pres rating diameter material
GLV 4500 15 16Mo3

in the other file we will have multipu entries for GLV with different values.

code temp/pres rating diameter material Cost Reference
GLV 4500 20 16Mo3 400 aaa1
GLV 5500 15 16Mo3 350 aab1
GLV 5000 15 16Mo3 300 aab2
GLV 5000 15 13CrMo4-5 600 acb1
GLV 5500 15 13CrMo4-5 600 acb2

For Code i need it to match (there are lots of codes even including variations like GLV.)
For Temp/pres rating i need it to be equal or higher to the value
For diameter i need a match
for material i need a match.

so as you can see from the list above there are 2 options. so then i want it to return the cheapest.

that is step one.

step two is to repeat it for multiple list of parts.

Return Data To Another Sheet Based On Criteria
Sheet 1
Column A = Dates
Row 1 = Filenames

I enter a Y in the intersecting cells of the Filenames & Dates to show which files were downloaded.

I need is a formula that will rearrange this layout onto Sheet 2 so that each Y (downloaded) filename is inserted in a cell corresponding to the Date.
