Running Totals In The Cell As The Previous Week And So On Until New Data Is Entered And Updates The Total

Oct 2, 2009

I have to keep a record of the running totals of school house points for each week. The problem is that teachers are very lazy and don't record data every week so I have many blank cells which my current formula can't cope with. I've tried using N/A but it doesn’t seem to work? (Have thought about threats of violence but would probably lose my job) I’m if there is no data (blank or 0) then I need it to keep the same total in the cell as the previous week and so on until new data is entered and updates the total. I have attached a simplified copy: Teachers enter points in the HP sheet, the Running Totals sheet (TAB) contains the formula.

Running Total In Cell Based Upon New Number Being Entered Into Different Cell

Apr 10, 2014

I am creating a spreadsheet for inventory use. I want to have a running total in (1) cell based upon a new/different number being entered into a different cell.

Column B, Row 1 (This will be a new/different number entered every day - inventory in or out, so positive or negative number)

Column D, Row 1 (This will be a running total based on numbers inserted in previous 2 columns)

Basically what I have is a key inventory. So there is column A with key number, B should be keys IN, C should be keys OUT, or ideally B would be IN and OUT meaning, for inventory IN input a positive number and for inventory OUT input a negative number, and D Should be total.

Column E represents number of keys currently in the inventory. I was going to hide the current inventory column so all you see is IN/OUT and total.

So what I need is to be able to just come in and type in a number in the IN and/or OUT column, without having to add/subtract it with the number already in that column.

Bottom line, I'd like to be able to use IN and/or OUT columns to just type in numbers as they come and not have to worry about what's already in those columns and get correct total number.

Ok here it is. Attached worksheet shows
Column A - Key Numbers...No data value
Column B - Inventory IN
Column C - Inventory OUT
Column D - Total
Column E - Current Inventory(Starting point)

So the formula I used to get what i currently have is (=B2-C2+E2). This way whatever i input in columns C and C. totals out in D. But this way every time I want to add/subtract a number in B and C, i have to add to the number already in the column. I'd like to be able to type in a number in B and C as i go and still have a correct total. I wouldn't mind having just one column for in/out and use positive and negative numbers to differentiate inventory in or out.

Excel 2010 :: Running Total From Previous Sheets With Non-sequential Names?

formula to take a value from one sheet and add to it in Excel 2010? I'm naming the sheets but not necessarily numerically. I have done it by manually entering the sheet name but would like it to figure out the sheet name automatically based on where the sheet is located in the workbook. That way I can copy the current sheet, rename it and still have it update properly with a running total. Here is what I have now: =D7+'011514'!E7

Pull Data Based On Day Of Week From Another Workbook For Previous Three Weeks

Feb 4, 2013

Here is what I have and am trying to do:

I entered the date and day in this format in multiple sheets in workbook 1 (named 0101, 0102, 0103) from the start of the year to last night (B2:C4):

Date:January 01, 2013
Day:Tuesday

I then entered all the data needed below that (B5:E26):

TimeTransactionsTotal SalesAverage Sales
12:0039 $352.97 $9.05
13:0053 $416.98 $7.87
14:0044 $339.42 $7.71
15:0043 $304.96 $7.09
etc.....

In workbook 2, I have sheets named for each day of the week. I would like to take the information from the previous three weeks for each corresponding day from workbook 1 and put the averaged data into another table with the data all formatted the same in workbook 2. This way, each week when I go into the aggregate file (workbook 2), I can look at the chart I'll create and see the average of the past three weeks transactions, total sales, and average sales for each hour of the business day and be able to staff accordingly (assuming the trend continues).

Running Totals In A Single Cell- Macro

Feb 2, 2009

I have been trying to find a macro that would allow me to keep a running total in a cell by adding a number to that cell and the same cell would display the sum of the numbers entered. {i.e.} If cell a1 has 0 in it and i click on that cell and put 3 in it would display 3 if i added 2 to it it would display 5 and so on. I need it to do this for about 182 cells on one page.I found this macro that runs automatically every time and works great......But only for one cell so far..."D3"...Ugh!!! I need this macro to work for the following range of cells "colums d thru j from row 3 down to 28 in each colum. Each cell is an individual. There are 182 cells total that each need this macro to work ...all on one page

Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Excel.Range)
Static dAccumulator As Double
With Target
If .Address(False, False) = "D3" Then
If Not IsEmpty(.Value) And IsNumeric(.Value) Then
dAccumulator = dAccumulator + .Value
Else
dAccumulator = 0
End If
Application.EnableEvents = False
.Value = dAccumulator
Application.EnableEvents = True
End If
End With
End Sub

As you see the macro includes cell D3 only, I have made several attempts to include more cells but have failed.... I tried like this

If .Address(False, False) = "D3,E3,F3,G3,H3,I3,J3,D4,E4...and so on" Then

I have tried ....If .Address(False, False) = "D3:J3" Then
and I have tried ....If .Address(False, False) = "23Rx7C" Then
I can make it work for cell d3 but not the others. Will I have to repeat this code for every cell?

Add Totals By Week

Oct 9, 2008

Does Excel know week numbers? e.g. Week 40 is Sunday 10/5/2008 to Saturday 10/11/2008. Here's what I have...

Column A Column G
date $ Amount

my data example...

10/5/2008 $10.00
10/5/2008 $20.00
10/8/2008 $12.00
10/11/2008 $8.00
10/12/2008 $25.00
10/13/2008 $75.00

What I want the formula to do is look in Column A find all of the dates that are in week # whatever and then look in column G and add all of those $ amounts. So the result would be...

Week 40 $50.00
Week 41 $100.00

Cell To Calculate Running Total

Basically, I'm trying to have a cell (eg.A1) where i can input a dollar value and when enter is pressed, on another cell (eg.A2) the dollar value gets added, then the original cell (A1) is cleared for the next input.

Then when I put the next input (A1) I want it to add on to this running dollar total (A2) and yet again A1 is cleared for the next input.

In addition to this I require an additional cell (eg.A3) that when each time a value is added in A1 it counts the times this is done.

Formula For Working Out And Populating Table Using Previous Month Totals?

The attached shows the example file. I need the following :
1. Take the data to populate the "Populate" tab
2. Using Column F (Invoice Date Created) to only bring back the "previous month data" - in this case it would be May 2014
3. The following formula is what I have currently for Column B of the "Populate" tab: =SUMPRODUCT(SUMIFS('Data'!$N:$N, 'Data'!$M:$M, "Invoice Payment Processed", 'Data'!$A:$A, A2))
4. The above formula brings back all the values - I only want the previous month.
5. I am then not sure how to calculate Column C - which is a count of the amount of invoices that make up the total

Cell Reference Moves When Data Table Updates

Because the data-tables will be updated via sharepoint, i have to link to cells beneath the data-tables as i expect these will be fill out when the tables update.

My problem is that when the tables update, i dont see the updates in my "combination" sheet. it appears the the data tables add a new line, which moves my cell reference 1 line down.

Ex: Had a reference in Sheet1'E3 - after the data table updates the reference is now Sheet1'E4.

Create Sub Totals And Sum Total

Jan 27, 2010

Attached is an example of the workbook I am looking for: A macro will take the sheet "Data" and split the info across into new separate worksheets labelled "SIM","MOR","RED","CAR","EMB". The split worksheets contain the same info as "Data" however the column for "Total Arrears" is sorted as descending and the moment values become negative, there is a 5 row gap to seperate the Positive amounts and Negative amounts in a descending order

What needs to be completed:

I need to create Sub Totals in columns E:K for both the negative and Postive balances (and Label them as "Sub - Total" in column D) as well as have them represented as a percentage, and then after that have a grand total value represented at the bottom. I have attached examples of what the final product should look like for each worksheet (they are labelled in blue)

The problem I have is that I am unsure of how to use VBA to recognise where to put the amounts for Sub Totals. I would assume it would use a .End.xlUp.Row and some kind of Offset, but I don'r even know where to begin. The "Data" sheet has a button that runs the macro to split the data into worksheets, but the worksheets SIM/MOR/RED/CAR/EMB must be deleted first since there cannot be duplicate sheets (which is why there is also a button to delete those sheets)

Pivot Table Show Data As "running Total In" Option

Nov 4, 2009

Does any one know how I can resolve the calculation error that shows up in a pivot table when you select "show data as a running total in" option and you end up with a very small difference error.

In other words if I add 12.96 + 2.04 + (-15) and you get 1.455E-11 instead of zero. When these calculation errors show up in normal spreadsheet calculations outside of pivot table you can always use the ROUND function to correct these arbitrary calculation errors.

I'm looking for a recommendion for handling this in a pivot table where I have a couple of hundred columns of data that are using the "running total in" option.

Record The Total Items From Each Sheet In A Column Called All Totals

Mar 21, 2009

I am a bit stuck with an excel spreadsheet I do for work and would like to ask your advise, I will try to explain as best as I can.
I am running a small store that feeds 13 buildings.

On the spreadsheet there are 13 sheets, one for each building.
The items will go out monthly.

What I need to do is record the total items from each sheet in a column called All Totals on the first sheet, this will add up the totals for all the buildings.

If I put an attachment that may help out a bit.
If you can look at P3 it is all the P3s to add together, next down will be total of P4,P5,P6.

Incremental Increase By Week When Total For Month Is Known

Apr 9, 2014

I have been a long time lurker of MrExcel, but have always been able to find the answer to my question within the forums. However, I am stumped. I am trying to create a pivot table that will show incremental goals by week, when I have a set goal for the month already. However, I don't want to do a straight average across all the weeks in a month. I would like to see it continually grow during the month. How can i mathmatically do that in Excel?

For example:

Jim had 191 sales leads in the last week of the month in December. Of those 191, he closed 29 of them, for a 15.2% close rate. I want to see him raise that by 6% by next December, so (6%/12 (# months) = .5%). He will need to increase his close rate to 15.7% by the end of January. So, for the month of January, we expect 955 sales leads (5*191) and 149.935 (15.7% of 955) closed. However, I don't want to say Week 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 in January should all have 29.987 closes, I would like to be able to say week 1 = 25, week 2 = 27 week 3 = 30 week 4 = 32 and week 5 = 34, but have that incremental increase to total 149.935.

There is (sadly) no changing the percents, or the closed leads number. These have already been submitted and aproved. I just have to be able to let people see the goals by week now, but if they want to see the monthly goal, it must equal what has been approved.
