I am using the attached to schedule the employees. All I want is a formula to add up all schedule hours per week per schedule in cell R2,R3 and R4.

Add Together The Total Hours For A Week

I am trying to add together the total hours for a given week.The spreadsheet is used to show the total hours worked from the signing off and on times given.

CELL C11 CORRECTLY SHOWS THE TOTAL FOR ONE DAY AS 08:30 AND F11 AS 07:30. BUT WHEN THEY ARE TOTALLED IN CELL B13 IS SHOWS 1122:00 INSTEAD OF 16:00.

Rota - Add Up The Total Number Of Hours Per Week Per Employee

I am trying to create a rota in excel but I am struggling to get it to add up the total number of hours per week per employee.

It get a little complicated as they work split shift so they may do 4 hours in the afternoon and another shift in the evening going into the next day, example they may work 11.00 am - 3.00 pm and 8.00 pm untill 2 am.

Calculate Overtime From Daily Hours For A Whole Week

calculate overtime hours from daily time entries.
Normal hours are 7.6 per day
Time 1/2 is hours over 7.6 but no more than 2 hours
Double Time is all hours over that.

I have the spreadsheet with the days of the week in one row and at the end I have 1 cell for Normal Hours, Time 1/2 and Double Time. I need a formula that will work out overtime off each day and add for all days of the week and enter data into one cell. So all normal hours are in Normal hours and Time 1/2 and Double time are automatically calculated once hours are put in per day manually.

Calculate Total Number Of Values For Each Day Of Week?

My spreadsheet is set up so that Column A has dates and Column B has a value. How can I calculate the total number of values for each day of the week? I've tried a few formulas but they either didn't work or didn't actually take the value into consideration and just counted all the 'Mondays'. I'm not sure if that's clear enough, but if we're just looking at Mondays to simplify it:

Monday, 1 January 2000: 2
Monday, 8 January 2000: 5
Monday, 15 January 2000: 0

Mondays: 7

How To Calculate Total Hours Worked When Time Spans From 11 PM To 4 AM Next Day

Any way to calculate the total hours staff work based on the mininum time of the first transaction to the maximum time of the transactions. I used a DMIN and DMAX function to get those times per employee. The issue is then the time goes over from one day to the next, such as from 11 PM to 4 AM the next day. As you can see in the data below,the fourth record shows the minimum time as 12 AM and the max as 11 PM with total time worked as 23 hours. In this example, the total hours worked should be five hours.

Week Number Caluclating Hours For Week

I have a running time sheet daily. It has 2 columns for Labor and 2 columns for travel
i.e. travel From / To 1300-1400 calculate 1 hour then travel home 1600-1700 1 hour this is calculated by the date entry 01/02/10 I have another calculation that tracks by the date i.e. 01/02/10 then Next job which all works fine.

The problem becomes how do I calculate a weekly total labor and travel by the date So added another column called weekly hours labor and use the Weeknum to determine which week is which day/date so the first Monday in January 2010 is week 2

2 problems
Having many multiple day / date entries are the same date x 7 days Monday Sunday
(Relies on the date entered and the weeknum) 01/03/10 each line is complete however the dates carry over as does the time

When trying to calculate each row x 3 same date time then the value will be incorrect I need to calculate
Say 9.5 hour labor from the date 01/03/10 not 28.5 hours and then calculate the total weekly hours
01/03/10, 9.5 hours labor, 3 hours travel
01/03/10, 9.5 hours labor, 3 hours travel
01/03/10, 9.5 hours labor, 3 hours travel

i do have work and travel times for each job on the same line (separate columns) but I display the total here by date to summarize the totals
i have tried sum products and sumif to avail. I am using Windows XP SP2 with MS Office 2007

Schedule The Hours Are Different Than The Numerical Value

I have an excel document and I don't know which formulas to use. Here is how the document is laid out, it's an employee schedule.

The row includes A: Name B: Sunday C: Monday ... J: Total

Columns below include the employee names. What I am doing is filling out the employee schedule and I need excel to calculate scheduled hours. My problem is, when I make the schedule the hours are different than the numerical value given by excel. For example, Sunday I have an employee scheduled from 8-4. That's 8 AM until 4 PM; or a total time of 8 hours. Excel would read that as 8 (minus) 4, rendering the results useless. Once I figure out how to calculate hours by such input, I'll need to make totals which won't be as difficult.

Also, if there is a way to set the value of the word "Close" to 12:15 AM that would be extremely beneficial as well.

Subtracting Hours In A Work Schedule

I am working on a monthly employee work schedule that has 2 stores. All employees work at both stores and the boss wants 2 separate schedules.

I have attached what I have started, which at the moment I am stuck.

I would like to have the Row 5 total hours to always reflect (subtract) a 30 minute lunch. I know it would be easier to have another column, but the boss wants it this way,

I also need the total hours in column H to reflect the total of each day (with the subtracted lunch break). In this column I am having the figures turn red if over 40 hours and green if it under 40 hours.

With having 2 stores with the employees working at both, I need to somehow have the hours of the employees add up from one store to the other (a running total, if you will).

Lastly, if I have an employee not scheduled for a day or need to put other data such as, VAC, HOL or blank cell etc in a cell, how can I get this to work and not have the formula go nuts when it is not in a time format.

1) The output of an excel duration is : 22.00:8.00:25.00 ( day:hour:minutes ) - excel cannot average and work with this number format

2) resolution - =(LEFT(L2,4))+MID(L2, FIND(":",L2)+1,4)/24+MID(L2, FIND(":",L2,7)+1,4)/1440 as an array and Custom Format the cell as [h]:mm - works perfectly.

Q: to be conistent, the initial reporting is dd:hh:mm and then I convert to hh:mm so that excel can process the data. How can I convert from hh:mm to dd:hh:mm so that the excel report can be consistent in presenting the data to senior management?

Maybe it is the layout but I was trying to keep it simple and just put hours into a cell for each employee.

I have 2 employees per day, one in the morning and one in the evening. How to get excel to add the hours for each employee at the bottom per month. Simple right?

Here is an example of what I thought would be so easy (first week in excel spreadsheet format)

Calculate Hours Worked With Lunch / Overtime / Holiday / Vacation And Saturday Hours?

Lunch is not paid. Holiday and vacation hours get calculated at the regular pay rate. Overtime is anything in excess of 8 hours per day and/or in excess of 40 hours per week and/or over 5 working days per week. Saturdays for most the employees will be overtime because it will be their 6th workday of the week; but it will be regular time for one employee as it will only be his 5th workday of the week.

For accounting and payroll purposes, we need the totals to display in both hour and decimal format.

So far, I have Lunch, Regular and Overtime hours figured out, but I still need to work with Saturday, Vacation and Holiday hours. Also, currently, the time in and out has to be typed in with the colon and AM or PM. Is there another way to input the info without having to type in those items? I'm trying to make it as user friendly as possible.

Macro To Calculate Billing Schedule

I have just been passed a new VBA project and there is one component I would like help with.

Column J lists a start date
Column K lists an end date
Column N lists a dollar amount.
Columns P through the last column has headers of month-year in text form(for example May-08)

The user enters contract information in the spreadsheet including the above cells. What they want to automate is once the user enters the contract information on a given row, she runs a macro to determine the billing schedule by calculating how many months there are between the start and end dates, divide the dollar amount in column N by that number and then prompt the user to enter what month the first payment is due, once that is entered, the macro should place the payment amount in that column and all applicable subsequent columns.

For example,
Column J = 6/1/2008
Column K = 9/1/2008
Column N = 3,000
The macro should calculate 3 months, the monthly payment amount is $1000.
A starting month prompt appears and the user enters July-08. The macro then places 1,000 in the columns for July-08, August-08 and September-08.

Incremental Increase By Week When Total For Month Is Known

I have been a long time lurker of MrExcel, but have always been able to find the answer to my question within the forums. However, I am stumped. I am trying to create a pivot table that will show incremental goals by week, when I have a set goal for the month already. However, I don't want to do a straight average across all the weeks in a month. I would like to see it continually grow during the month. How can i mathmatically do that in Excel?

For example:

Jim had 191 sales leads in the last week of the month in December. Of those 191, he closed 29 of them, for a 15.2% close rate. I want to see him raise that by 6% by next December, so (6%/12 (# months) = .5%). He will need to increase his close rate to 15.7% by the end of January. So, for the month of January, we expect 955 sales leads (5*191) and 149.935 (15.7% of 955) closed. However, I don't want to say Week 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 in January should all have 29.987 closes, I would like to be able to say week 1 = 25, week 2 = 27 week 3 = 30 week 4 = 32 and week 5 = 34, but have that incremental increase to total 149.935.

There is (sadly) no changing the percents, or the closed leads number. These have already been submitted and aproved. I just have to be able to let people see the goals by week now, but if they want to see the monthly goal, it must equal what has been approved.

I want to add the numbers of hours in a 4 week period. I have used the following formula (from this site) to total according to month but I don't seem to be able to adapt it to change it to only add hours between 2 dates or for the 28 day period. I thought maybe I should be using a SUMIF but I can't get that happening either.

Keep A Running Total Of Hours

I want to keep a running total of hours.

I know what to do when I add them- if the number is positive then a payment is due, if its 0 then the employer is "Up to Date" But what if they pay me more than they owe? I owe them hours, how can I have excel know that there is a surplus and to deduct the future hours worked from the surplus until i've paid it off?

I have my problem in an excel spreadsheet but I don't know how to upload so you can download it for reference.
