Sep 11, 2009I can set a default value, how do I show in the ComboBox what the value is?
In this snippet I get the variable value, pass to ComboBox1 but it doesnt appear (Display) in the ComboBox window.

How To Set ComboBox Default Value
May 28, 2009I want the combobox cmbBottle to show the second item in its list when the userform shows. The code below achieves this. However, after executing cmbbottle.listindex=1, the program jumps out of the initialization and goes to Private Sub cmbBottle_change() and then executes others subs called under it. I don't want this.
Is there a way to set the combobox to a default, startup display, without triggering the cmbBottle_change event?
(I have looked under the Properties window of combobox in the form view mode and can't see how to set it's value there.)

Sep 24, 2009I have a userform with multiple tabs. I have buttons on the excel sheet that correspond with the tabs. How do I get the buttons to open up their respective tabs in the userform?
For example: Button 1 opens Userform-Tab1; Button 2 opens Userform-Tab2; Button 3 opens Userform-Tab3; etc.
Right now they all open the userform, but open the first tab.

How can I make the "view code" view the default view for the form in the VBA editor? (i.e. so that when the form is selected, I am presented with the code, not the object).

Feb 24, 2007I have an inventory sheet that uses multiple userform comboboxes to input data to a sheet. Everything works great except on one userform "pullmat" where the user removes inventory from a unique list of all material available in "Master Log" sheet. The combobox that im trying to fix is "combobox3" in the "pullmat" userform. I'm trying to get that combobox to only show P.O. numbers that are related to the material selected in the "Material Code / Name- combobox2. In other words, the user should only be able to select a P.O.# that matches that specific material on the Master Log sheet.
The file size is too large to attach but I can email a copy if needed.

It works if I step through it (F8) but the ComboBox doesn't work. It's named ComboBox1, and in the properties the ListFillRange shows all of the names in the list in the ComboBox correctly.

Aug 11, 2008I want to select a customer name from a ComboBox in a UserForm and populate a TextBox with additional customer information for the end user. The additional customer information is always located in C3 in sheet2 (the result of a formula). However, the text box only refreshes when I click into it. Is it possible to have it refresh without clicking into the userform textbox)? I’ve tried _Change and _Afterupdate. I'm sure this must be easy for anyone but a novice like myself. Conditionally Show / Hide Combobox Based On Cell Value
Jun 5, 2013I'm quite new to VBA, but I am attempting to get a Forms ComboBox to appear or disappear based on whether a certain cell (P7) reads YES or NO. P7 in turn updates in turn based on a user-selected value. As of now, the ComboBox only appears or disppears if I go back in and out of the formula I entered into P7. Basically, I want my ComboBox to dynamically update based on the value in P7. That may sound a little muddled, so here is my code for the ComboBox:

Excel 2010 :: Hide / Show Textboxes And Labels Based On Combobox Selection?
Jul 8, 2014I have created a UserForm that has a ComboBox and depending on the number selected I want it to show that number of Labels/TextBoxes...
So if I select "0" nothing is shown, if I select "1" one set of Labels/TextBoxes is shown, select "2" and two sets of Labels/TextBoxes are shown... but also if I have selected "2" and then select "1" I want the second set to be hidden again...
Also I know I should have renamed the Label/TexBoxes to make it easer but I was adding things and making it up as I went along...
I'm using Excel 2010 on windows 7.

Populating Combobox 2 With Items That Match Criteria From Combobox 1
Mar 30, 2009Am trying to get dynamic population of 2nd combobox based on match from criteria in combobox 1.
if column a = bears and column b = colours of bears then
when I select bears in combobox one, combobox 2 would populate with colors of bear.
I am think of having a combobox 1 change event that evaluates each row in a specific range (does it match the criteria?) if so, then add 2nd cell (column b) of that row to the combobox 2.
I know it would probably involve match and offset, add item and loop, but I am not sure what the syntax is.
Auto Populate 2nd Combobox Based On 1st Combobox Data

Column A Column B

A 2
A 3
A 4
A 5
B 100

B 102
So from the above data, one combo box should hold unique values A & B.
On selecting a value from the 1st combo box A or B, respective values should be populated in 2nd combo box.
So the data should be like below:
If A is selected in the 1st combo box, then 2nd combo box should only show the values 1,2,3,4 & 5.
If B is selected in the 1st combo box, then 2nd combo box should only show the values 100,101 & 102.
Friends I need it in a macro and one important point is, this is dynamic and it is not static and the data can be more.

Sep 28, 2013I created a UserForm then linked ComboBox1 to range A2:A, TextBox2 to range E2:E, and ComboBox3 to range M2:M of the same worksheet, named Sheet3. The row contents in Column A, Column E, and Column M are associated. Therefore, when the UserForm is active I want to be able to select a row from Column A in ComboBox1 and have the UserForm pull the contents from the same row of Column E into TextBox2, and Column M into ComboBox3. Here is what I have so far, but its not quite doing it.

I'd like to choose the FirstName (say Jack) in the "FirstName" combobox, and based on that get the choice of the Surnames of all my Jacks in the "SurName" combobox.
Actually my sheet has much more fields and comboboxes, but i think my problem is just that I do not find a way to populate them dynamically.

I copied and pasted Column A into Column C and then removed duplicates. I named Column C 'ValList' and placed it in the RowSource for ComboBox1. What I now want is for ComboBox2 to populate based on my selection in ComboBox1. There are no duplicates in Column B. Duplicates are in Column A.
I also named Column A 'Proc_Grp' and Column B 'ADA_QSI_Desc'
For the properties in Combobox2, I left the RowSource empty. (that's correct right?) Because there's going to be a code that links Combobox2 to Combobox1... I think...

Mar 20, 2009I have an excel 2003 sheet that collects data from Infopath forms. The forms are to record students who have broken school rules, when, where, repercussions etc. One column shows their class and there is a separate column for each rule broken.
I want to create another sheet to show each class down the rows and the columns to show each school rule. Therefore, each cell would show the number of each particular rule broken for each particular class. I have tried to do countif and sumproduct (if on sheet 1, column B the class is KA and on sheet 1, column M, the rule is bullying = how many times this has occurred).

The first combobox shows the the first column (only 1 of each) and the second comboBox shows me the secondary list that correlates to the valuse in the first from column B. Now I have a text box that I am trying to get the value from column C depending on what I have in the first 2 comboboxes. What is the easiest way to do it? This is all in VB since it is a UserForm, and using Vlookup seems to be too many lines if I go that route. Is there a way to use Index and Match in VB where it would be more efficient? I attached just a sample of how the data would be layed out in the Excel sheet.

How do I get these values to a ComboBox.
2). If the above is possible and if I select a value in ComboBox say 08/07/2006, it should get updated in a particular cell say A1
So selection of 08/07/2006 in ComboBox, should reflect 08/07/2006 in cell A1.
Note: This ComboBox is on the UserForm and not on the Excel Sheet.
