Sumif Counting Values In Date Range
Jun 27, 2014I'm currently using the below formula to calculate the values within a certain date range.
=SUMIFS(C2:C100,B2:B100,">=2014-06-27",B2:B100,"

i have a spreadsheet that contains a column for each day and i need to input the count from another tab for certain data...example as follows:
column A shows types of fruit - apples, bananas or oranges, row 1 contains the date (todays date, weekdays only) - the count of each fruit needs to be entered in rows 2 (apples), 3 (bananas) & 4 (oranges) for each fruit for each date
i copy and paste a daily report into a new tab in this workbook -Raw Data (the data is always in the same format and the info i need is in column J...."555" = apples, "666" = bananas & 777" = oranges)
i have used the below formula which works:
apples =COUNTIF('Raw Data'!$J$5:$J$65536,"555") etc
however the daily report that is pasted into the Raw Data tab only relates to the current day (date is present in this tab in A1)...how do i get each daily column to only display a count if the date in row 1 matches the date in Raw Data tab A1?
also how do i keep the previous days' data to keep what the count was for that day (instead of counting the current count of the new data only relevent for today)?
I have an issues with a formulae I have written to measure two factors;
A; How many different countries appear within a certain date range. B; What countries are they.
I tried a unique list, but could not get it to work within a range? I dont particuarly care how the data is pulled through as long as I do it. At the moment I have become stuck in 'Unique Ranges' and have n given up?
The formulae issue is in the tab "Problem_Formulae", the dat in the sheet 1, and the date ranges in sheet 2. Also, just to make life a bit more challenging pivot tables are a no go .
I am finding many posting on this topic with unique numeric values and have not come across one in regards to a text value. The essence of the formula is looking through a list for unique email addresses and now I need to up it to a date range and eventually a store # range
I am using the following array formula to establish an overall count:
=SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(LEN('[Data - Deliverables.xlsb]orders'!A2:A5000)>0,MATCH('[Data - Deliverables.xlsb]orders'!A2:A5000,'[Data - Deliverables.xlsb]orders'!A2:A5000,0),""), IF(LEN('[Data - Deliverables.xlsb]orders'!A2:A5000)>0,MATCH('[Data - Deliverables.xlsb]orders'!A2:A5000,'[Data - Deliverables.xlsb]orders'!A2:A5000,0),""))>0,1))
Ctrl+Shift+Enter
The date column is E:E.
The store number column is G:G
I am trying to pull cell values similar to a SUMIF function (SUMIF(range,criteria,sum_range)). For example, in A1 I use a data list created from data elsewhere on the spreadsheet. In the data I created elsewhere, there are 2 columns being used. The 1st column is the information that is being used to create the list and the second column contains specific values (number or text). In the dropdown menu I select an available value (text or number) . When I have selected that value I would like cell A2 to show what the cell directly to the right of it shows from the data I have elsewhere in the spreadsheet as mentioned. I have tried the SUMIF function however it seems to exclude certain values (number or text) and I am not sure what else to use.

I want to determine the number of values SUMIF/SUMPRODUCT functions used/checked to arrive at the answer, i.e. 95 for row 2 and 116 for row 3. A function that can give a 3 and 2 respectively.
Example:
Results for Row #2 gives: 95 with 3 values picked up under "Rate"
Results for Row #3 gives: 116 with 2 values though three places were checked up under "Rate"
How can I count the number of these values referencing at the "Rate" like in the functions used.
I managed to use SUMIF/SUMPRODUCT functions to calculate totals based on "Rate" in row one.
I tried COUNTIF function, but allows only field/heading.

I have a simple sumif formula that says =SUMIF(W61:W112,"<30",J61:J112). In column W, there are values ranging from 0 to 5000. If the formula is written like it is above, it excludes summing values from column J when the cell in column W equals 0. Why is this? I can just add another function that says sumif "=0", but I don't think I should have to.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an example, see attached. I am trying to find the sum of a number of columns where the critera is between a number of days ie values is greater than 365 but less than 1788 days. The values to sum is the amount for each row where this criteria is met.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there a formula that would allow you to take the average of all values within a range but not count the zero values? I thought something like this might work but it's not. Neither one worked.
=AVERAGEIF($E$4:$E$34,">0")
=AVERAGEIF(E4:E34,">0")
I have the following formula and it works.
=SUM(IF(AND((Transfers!B6="Labour"),(Transfers!C6="In")),Transfers!G6,""))
Basically the sheet 'transfers' has a column named type and one named in/out, the current formula I have does a logical test on both of these and then if they are both true takes the cost of it from a column named cost. This works fine for single rows. However on another sheet I am trying to use the above formula but there will sometimes be more than one entry for the same date on the sheet 'transfers' and all the same dates that meet the logical test's conditions need to display the sum of the cost on this other sheet.
I am trying to get a SUMIF formula to work where the following: - RANGE = Column N:N (These are all a list of dates) CRITERIA = Cell C20:D20 (These are the dates i want to look at) SUM_RANGE = Column P:P
Basically, I want to SUM all the numbers on Column P where the date in Column N falls between and including the dates in Cell C20 and D20
In attachement, I want to show in the YELLOW cells the SUM of Column P where the Date in Column N is between the Dates in column C and D.
I am working on a report for work with the following formula:
=SUMIF(A5:G8,AND(between 1-1-13 and 1-31-13,"soft cost"),G5:G8)
my formula is "IF A5:G8 IS BETWEEN JANUARY 1st 2013 AND JANUARY 31st 2013 AND ALSO IF IT IS A SOFT COST THEN GIVE ME THE SUM OF THAT ROW"
Pretty much column A contains different dates and column C indicates whether a cost is a "hard cost" or a "soft cost". If the date is within the month of January AND if it is a soft cost, I need the dollar amount in column G summed-up (must meet both criteria - January and soft cost).
Im Trying to use a formula of countif or sumproduct
so the formula will read the range of cells from A2:A30 to see if the word Hydro is in any of those cells, then if the date range from Cell B2:B30 is from range =>Dec-01-2007 to =<Dec-31-2007, then it will count 1.
[Code] ........
But this formula doest count.
I've tried using a multiple if count if with arrays and sumproduct. I really want it to count the ammount of time the work hydro is used during the month on december .

I am trying to sum multiple columns of data by a sumif based on a criteria in column C, the columns are weekly dated, and I wish to match columns by offset this initial column with a start date and end date and sum columns in between, I have been getting close but only returns one columns values?
SUMIF(FilterCol,$C17&I$9,(StartCol:EndCol))
FilterCol is column for criteria match
Start Col is name range - OFFSET(FilterCol,0,'Summary totals line groups'!$G$4,1,1) - End col similar, (G4 is a match date to find column ref)
I need to do is, on sheet 2 is to have a formula which will count all cells in column A containing dates from 1/1/2009 to 31/1/2009, Another column will count all dates from 1/2/2009 to 28/2/2009 and so on. I have tried the countif format but this does not seem to work.

Is it correct to use the SUMIF formula? If so how do I write the formula to include the date range desired? Would it go under 'criteria'?
I am trying to do a sumif off all dates that fall into a specific year. I know I can do it by either adding a column in either of the sources to get the translated data but I was wondering if I can get this to work by it recognizing the format within the formula only.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to count cells withdates in theme in a column. So that would be a CountA function; but only if the values in the cells are within a certain date range, a COUNTIF function. Here's what I thought:

It returns a zero, which I know is not correct, as I checked it on a smaller sample....
I've got a database with a date header across the columns C1 to W1 [C1 value = '02/04/07 and W1 value = '30/04/07]
Each row represents a different person
For each person there can be one of skills: Maths, English, French, Science, Geography on each day. Most people keep the same skill for the whole month but some change multiple times within the month.
What I'm after is a formula which will return the total number of people who have had each skill for at least one day within a time specificed time period. The startdate criteria is in A1 and enddate criteria is in B1
E.g How many different people had Maths on at least one day for the period 16th April to the 20th April.
At the moment I've been trying to work along the lines:
=sumproduct((C2:W200>=datevalue(A1))*(c2:w200
The attached spreadsheet has a "master" workesheet in which I enter customer info, salesperson info, and date. The totals spreadsheet automatically calculates number of sales, contact value.
I need to modify the following formulas to only calculate the data within a date range shown in 2 cells.
=COUNTIF(Master!A1:A176,PayPeriod!A4)
=SUMPRODUCT(--(Master!A1:A176=Totals!A4),(Master!K1:K176))
=E4SUMPRODUCT(--(Master!A1:A176=Totals!A4),(Master!K1:K176))
I'm looking for a way to count entries of numbers per day of the week within a date range. Example
Start End Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa Su TOTAL
2/10 2/23 1 1 1 1 0 1 1 12
3/1 3/31 1 2 1 1 1 1 2 40
I don't know if that possible in excel or its to much
I have a column, we'll say E18:E2500. In the cells in that column are four digit numbers. Some of these cells may have multiple four digit numbers separated by a comma and a space. (example: 2020, 2100, 3120) Some other cells in the column may also share the four digit numbers (I mean duplicates).
So I'm trying to write a formula to sum and count all the unique values in the cells and in the range. This is what i've been trying to use but it counts all the values with no regard to duplicate values:
=SUM(IF(LEN(TRIM($E$18:$E$2500))=0,0,LEN(TRIM($E$18:$E$2500))-LEN(SUBSTITUTE($E$18:$E$2500," ",""))+1))
i'm trying to count dates within a 2 week date range. I don't want to update the formula every day to the actual dates that would make up two weeks so I tried this formula but it keeps giving me an error.
VB:
=COUNTIFS(Tracker!I2:I479, "=>" TODAY()+1,Tracker!I2:I479,"<=" TODAY()+14)
I would like some help from someone on this subject if possible. I am running a stats report in a workbook where each member of staff have their own running totals of how much work they do and how much of that work is incorrect (per week). I have worked out that if I use the following:-
=SUMPRODUCT(('Barry Brooks'!$A$1:$A$2000>=$B$95)*('Barry Brooks'!$A$1:$A$2000<=$C$95))
I get the total amount of work. To explain the above, it returns the amount of times a date appears between two dates i.e B95 is week commencing date and C95 is weekending; therefore giving the total amount of work in that period.
What I am struggling with is that I need a formula to look at the above date range and then look at another column that has either a ‘Y’ or ‘N’ (for yes or no) and for the formula to count how many N’s there are (thus how many in that given range there were)
It appears to me quite a small ask for Excel but I can’t seem to get it to work.
I’m looking for a formula that will count the number of occurrences of “YES” in column A between a specific date range (column B) BUT only if the it's categorized as "LAB" (column C).
Up until now I’ve jerry rigged the spread sheet to do it with various filters, if, and countif formulas but I’m looking for something that will fit in one cell and lower the overall size of the file.
To make it even more complicated I’d like to feed the formula the date range information from another editable cell so that it can basically be queried for whatever dates my boss is concerned about at that second.
I have a report I am attempting to populate with data from a pivot table in another worksheet. Column A holds all the reference numbers (primary key), column B contains various start dates, and I want column C to contain all the payments made since the start date for each reference number.
The source data is a pivot table with Row = Reference number, column = transaction date, values = transaction amounts. This is an extremely large table, as I'm processing data from almost 1,200 cases, which each have around 20 payments spread over the last year, on completely random days. What I would like to do is build a formula in my report which looks up the records for the reference number from column A, and then adds up all the payments which have been made after the date in column B (and ignore any payments in the table which are before that date).
And to make things more complicated:
if an error is generated, it needs to return as 0, not #N/AThe report has the dates in UK format dd/mm/yyyy, but the pivot table has the dates in SQL format: yyyy-mm-ddThe pivot table is connected to a SQL database via ODBC and has to refresh every time it is opened.
=IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(A2,'Transactions'!$A$2:$B$1194,2,FALSE)),0,VLOOKUP(A2,'Transactions'!$A$2:$B$1194,2,FALSE))
I have an excel sheet which is currently 1,100 lines long and expected to increase and has a number of dates in columns W-AO representing the dates in which someone has had an onsite assessment. I wish to report in column AQ if there has been any visit activity in the month, i.e August for this month’s report. Is there an Excel function which will allow for this? Im thinking something like having a drop down list to select the month at the top of the column and then the sheet returns a value of 1 for all lines where a there is a date equal to the month selected?
I guess it is also worth mentioning that the sheet is setup as a table.
I need to input a formula that will produce a "yes / no" result if a "0" value appears consecutively six or more times.
Using the date below (ranges A1:Q1, A2:Q2 and A3:Q3), I need cell R1 to read "yes", as there are 7 consecutive "0" values. Cells, R2 and R3, however, need to read "no" as there are less than six consecutive "0" values in rows 2 and 3 respectively.
